Today , I was robbed by this hotel and 2 nasty workers , one man, one women. I checked in this morning at around 4 am, 2 men got me in, gave me a schetchy room. At 12/ checkout time I called downstairs and asked for a refund on the remaining day. After they already took my room key. They told me I could not get a refund. I also was told I could not go back in the room. I’m a long time customer & after today I won’t be returning. Never pick this hotel. They are scammers Edit -Update ; Still have obviously not ever received a response or comment back from the business like any normal business would in this day and age. I really wish I paid with card and documented the whole situation as it played out. DON’T BE ME ! Be sure to educate yourself on the appropriate steps you should take if you are ever in a situation where your rights are being violated, or a business has committed violations against you. I wish for who ever is reading this day to be purposeful and abundant !

-10. The WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. Although it’s a 3 star hotel, we gave this a chance because of our last minute, 2 night stay. Front desk staff was consistently rude. Nasty attitudes. Just disgusting. The rooms were outdated and smelled like piss, if the air conditioning wasn’t on. 2 of our light bulbs were missing, and never replaced. No wash cloths. Soap in bathrooms were used from previous guest. Let’s just say, your basic hotel necessities were not included. We have traveled to this amazing city several times. And we are aware it’s not the cleanest. But this was simply unacceptable.

This hotel is an absolute nightmare. Please do not visit or stay there. The linen was unclean. The tub was filthy. There was garbage from previous guest in the room. The shower head fell off . The most disturbing were the sheets that were unclean and had to be changed. To add insult to injury, when housekeeping came to change the filthy sheets they were suited with gloves and masks. They were unable to communicate as they spoke little or no English. Complaints to the front desk were inadmisalbe as the attendant not only glared at me as I complained but jeered and snickered in disbelief. The paint was peeling off the ceiling and all over the room. There were no simple/ basic amenities( fridge. microwave , desk lamp,). The curtains were torn, dingy and dirty.

The hallway smelled heavily of smoke even though there is a no smoking policy, our room also smelled pretty strongly of an odor I can’t explain. The bathroom was okay, the water pressure in the shower was horrid. The room was on the smaller side and the beds are firm. The parking situation is a completely different thing. The top parking lot is awfully tiny with 4 ‘real’ parking spots, and there’s two ‘spots’ on the wall of the hotel (parallel parking). Getting in and out of the parking is hell. We weren’t able to use the underground garage because it was under construction (they said). They locked the garage when my sisters and I came back from dinner and after some arguing we were able to park in the underground garage under the premise that we’d move our car by 9am. Overall, you’re getting what you paid for. I wouldn’t book again.

Everything in the ad wasn’t true. The room was absent a fridge, no cable or hot tea pot. When I inquired at the front desk, I was promised an upgrade, the upgrade also didn’t have the items mentioned. So, I chose to stay where I was. Also very few towels in the bathrooms-. I needed a much needed get away to relax, reflex and write. I couldn’t do either, because the desk was so close to the foot of the bed and there were no where In the room to position it. The room was very small. The mattress was thin and not comfortable at all-I couldn’t really sleep. This place is the worst. I will never NEVER stay there again. I do not recommend it.

This hotel should be a lot cheaper than what the rate is. There was no fridge no microwave in the room. There was mold in the bathroom. The free breakfast consisted of white Wonderbread, coffee that tasted burnt, kids juice boxes, a few apples and yogurt. If you just need a place to sleep then this is for you. If you prefer a real hotel with all the amenities that you know a hotel is to have, then don't stay here. Parking was a nightmare even though it was free. I was blocked in my spot. The front desk person had to wake up the owner of the car so they can move it out so I can leave. Nightmare!!! Let not forget about the one play toilet paper. I got better toilet paper from the public washroom as DUMBO. Grocery bags used for the trash??? Come in with low expectations. Good luck!!!

Rooms are very small. Shower tile has mold and mildew all on the grout and caulking between the tub and wall. Only good thing, you have a beautiful view on the back window of Manhattan.

Well pretty much in a nutshell only Google knows how much I have traveled and have stayed in many hotels and i can tell you guys it may not be high class Hilton or Marriott but I have stayed in these so-called five star locations and have noticed in all that the furniture and fixtures are outdated the bed sheets towels and pillows seem to have come from big box stores(cheap) and some complete Wings seem to have been neglected most likely because of the pure sizes of the hotels the Phoenix Hotel is a cozy not too small spot situated in a great location with plenty of diners known fast food and multi services and it doesn't compromise parking as expected from a metropolitan area they have spots underneath the building and behind. I just liked the attention to detail

Food and hair in bed, had to get sheets replaced and all the spares had stains. Floors were dirty, tried upgrading me to their best room which also had dirty sheets and a light fixture was out. The TV was disassembled and no remote. Wouldn’t give any sort reimbursement for poor experience. Charged 275.00 for one night weekend rate. Didn’t get to sleep til close to 1 am. Run run run!

It was very bad. The room is very very small. The only thing that it came with was a bed and shampoo. No, hair dryer, iron, microwave, or conditioner. The rooms aren’t cleaned you have to ask for new sheets and towels. Every night i would come home the room was humid and smelled like weed and smoke it was horrible. Also, every morning I would wake up the room felt tight and humid. This hotel is no good never again please save some money and don’t go here today please. The only good thing about it is the staff. The internet also is very bad it’s amazing in the lobby but when you get on different levels it gets all choppy and is very horrible.

Wanted to charge full price for a room even though by time I got there, check out was in 5 hours. My friend talked them into giving us 3 hours for $100 which was still way too much, so we just left.

This is indeed a two star hotel. Had a good view, close to the subway, and helpful staff. Sheets were dirty and we had to ask for new ones, which also had stains, less, but still stains. The water wasn’t hot enough unless I put it on max. At least they gave slippers.

The rooms are very small, the door didn’t want to lock on the inside. If you love cold showers then this hotel is for you, because there was no hot water and we were told to wait 20 to 30 minutes as they will reset the hot water but an hour went by and there was still no hot water not even Luke warm. It has a nice view and transportation access is easy but they have to fix the rooms because it’s not worth the money that we paid.

Perfect for what I needed. Let me check in last minute at midnight and pay cash. They let me squeeze my car into the back parking lot no extra charge. I felt safe there with my daughter and my room was clean. Not luxurious but I would stay there again if I had to. Thank you!

Horrible experience. We reserved a room with 2 beds but we got only 1. For the 2nd bed the hotel required an upgrade of 200$. Dirty rooms, shower broken, no wardrobe, small towels, just one small soap for two people. We left the hotel after 1 night even if the reservation was for 5. Refund required!

Beds are a full size . So if you have a little extra juice on you . These beds will be uncomfortable. Also beds a stiff like sleeping on card board . Bathrooms are ok . Bring your own towels and wash cloths. Bring slippers also. No microwave in rooms .

Basic hotel. More like a motel. Had a strong smell when I went into my room. The shower was okay. Ran out of the body wash after the first shower. Front desk gave me small soap to use instead. There’s a small fridge in the room. They have a microwave in the lobby for everyone to use. The parking lot has enough room for about 5 cars and it is first come first serve. Not far from train stations. Overall it wasn’t worth the money I paid but the service was not terrible

When I put the shower on the water spot to fill shot out and hit my foot. Water started coming out of the pipe that fed the spout. Brought it to the attention of the front desk. They said they would take of it but never did. The door of the room the dead bolt didn't lock. No real security, also brought to the attention of the front desk nothing was done about it. They have false advertising. Said rooms are $99 plus tax, comes to $129 a night. They charged a $129 each for 2 days. But on the 3rd day they wanted to charge $154,after complaining they lowered it to $140. Still ripping me off. Only consider this place as a last resort.

I wish I could leave negative stars. On the first night, the front desk guy began interrogating me aggressively because for literally no reason he thought that we had 5 guests even though we showed him the booking that said 3. There were 3 of us and this guy wouldn't hear a word. It was truly bizarre and beyond unprofessional. Second night, he wouldn't let us in and threatened to call the cops. He also called our room at 3am when our friend was sleeping. He had to come down and prove to this guy that there was just the 3 of us. And the cherry on top was when we thought to flip over the mattresses the next morning and were horrified (but not surprised) to find them infested with bedbugs. We had to cut our trip short because of this dumpster fire of a hotel. Save yourself 2 nights of sleeplessness and having to suffocate your clothes in trash bags and find another place.

Rooms are nowhere like what you see in the photos in their website. No locks inside, bathroom doors doesn't lock. Room service is the worst - Doesn't clean the room, when asked for extra bath towels, they said they don't one. No liquid in the body wash dispenser - when asked they say they are out of it. Ones who have dust allergy must stay out of this place, there is lot of dust in their rooms and every floor and elevator smells weed whole day. Only positive I can think of is that it's close to 36th St. subway station. Most of the 5/5 ratings that you would see here are from the front-desk folks praising the room service and front desk, do not fall in that trap. Stay away from this place!

Honestly was looking for a last minute place to crash and also use as a place for modeling website. Small rooms are my fear in NYC and I walked in to find a nice size bed, room, nice view, and bathroom. Sink a little faulty but not end of world. AC worked very nice and thats great for the summer, and it smelled pretty okay, halls are not sound proof, but just ask for a room at the end. There is always someone at the front desk, the cleaning lady was nice, gave me new fresh towels, extra ones, really appreciate her, and they let me check out late with no charge, since I came pretty late into the night. Didn't even ask for card for deposit. Honestly few of the pretty clean, really cheap as in 100 for the night, decent, trusting hotels left in NYC. LETS GO SUNSET!

The price corresponds to the place. If you are sightseeing and only need a place to sleep, it is ideal. Lack of cleanliness. The beds are comfortable, but the bathroom needs attention. The curtain had fungus. A/C does not work 100% and has a lot of dust. The attention was great. You have the metro station nearby.

The worst hotel I ever stayed at it had no microwave, no blow dryer, no shampoo, no conditioner, and no iron. I ask if I can have an iron and they said I have to pay $20 more.. are you kidding. We are here on a quick trip because of a funeral, and we did not have much choice and thought it was a good hotel but now it's not. On the Internet, it shows beautiful but it's not.. the beds are very uncomfortable we are checking out and going to a different hotel it's very uncomfortable to stay here.

Terrible, it's a prison cell. Everything feels greasy. TV remote doesn't work, weird smell, bars in area are terrible. No blinds means no privacy for your giant window. You're better off getting an airbnb

The stay was excellent, the housekeeping service was very satisfactory. The person in front desk specially in night was very polite and helpful for whatever i needed. The rooms were quite and clean. Look forward for more days of stay in the next year.

My stay was nice, the staff was friendly. There are a few things that I expected, like an iron, an iron board. Location was excellent, plenty of food establishments. I feel like you get a room out of town to enjoy the city and not to spend time in the room. My room was big enough to fit another king size bed. Not sure what size room the other guests got but I enjoyed mine.

I came in late because my flight was cancelled and I couldn’t find available rooms anywhere else. The desk manager took advantage of that and charged me $350 for 1 night. The room smelled like disinfectant and cigarettes. The deadbolt on my door didn’t work. There were cigarette holes in the bead spread. The shower had no water pressure.

I will pick this place again. I saw a roach. Room was low budget and small. This is only good for a quick play with someone.
