Spent two nights here recently. While the room and Hotel were clean, there really isn't too much to write home about here. The room was tiny, barely enough space for two single beds and luggage. Advertised that parking was included, but meant that it was simply street parking, which could mean driving around a bit until a spot was found and then waking up early to move the car because of Street parking restrictions. The hotel is located in an industrial looking area with many dead rats in the street and a man smoking crack just across the street from the hotel, this isn't a place where you would consider safe. The bathroom was designed with no thought whatsoever with the shower head spraying into the middle of the bathroom. Be prepared to walk around in a puddle of water whenever you want to use the bathroom. Room service came and did a good job cleaning our room despite having put the do not disturb sign up on the door. We had valuables in the room and didn't want anyone coming in while we were gone, but they didn't seem to understand that we did not want anyone going in when we put up a DND sign. Overall not a great experience despite paying nearly $150/night. Not coming back.

My son and I stayed at this hotel the week of September 9th 2019. We were there for five days, Monday through Friday. When I did the reviews on this hotel, there were a lot of negative reviews referring to the construction that was going on. The construction had been completed when we arrived to a very nice but small hotel. The lobby and the rooms are decorated in a modern way. The following information is not a complaint against the hotel but rather things you need to know so you can be prepared to have a pleasant stay. The amenities are minimal. In your room, there is not a refrigerator or a microwave. There is one chair for lounging. Any other lounging would need to be done on the bed. There are hooks to hang several items on but not a closet. The bathroom contained a few toiletries and a hair dryer. At that particular time they did not supply washcloths but rather had hand towels and bath towels only. Bring your loofah! There was a snack machine that contained a few varieties of soda in the lobby. The ice machine is located in the basement. This is called a boutique hotel for these reasons. All these things need to be considered when you are bringing snacks or food into the room. Their sister Hotel, Howard Johnson's is just across the street. At that time new reservations did not have privilege to go across and use their amenities like the free continental breakfast or their exercise room. Despite what was there and was not there, I would stay there again without a problem. The area is quiet more so than you think that it would be. The people were pleasant and helpful in giving directions and suggestions for restaurants to visit. If you need more amenities, stay somewhere else but be prepared to pay more money. The reason that I gave this hotel 3 stars and not higher was because of the following: the staff gave conflicting information which could be a little frustrating. The location of the ice machine was not pleasant for me.

Miserable place. Neighborhood is sketchy. Nothing identifying hotel from outside. we checked in and went to our room...imagine our confusion seeing an unmade bed and someone’s luggage and stuff all around. Oops... they gave use the wrong room. We get into the right room and it was clean and bed was nice, but that’s it. The hotel had a weird smell. Room was tiny. One nightstand in room... no desk, dresser or even a luggage stand. Everything is on our floor. Bad view. Thin walls... heard a couple fighting all night. Shower shoots water directly onto bathroom floor and water was cold. No food or drinks anywhere in vicinity, except for convenience store around the corner. No “cafe” or fitness center, as stated. Tried to get coffee at front desk, but it was empty both times.

This place is Basic, yes. But when all you need is a clean modern room with a couple of beds to stay the nights its perfect. You get what you pay for but I think this hotel was above an beyond good value for the £80 I paid for a night only 10 minutes away from central Manhattan. Breakfast was poor, very basic. Toast, cereal and Bagels. I wish they had advertised it as no breakfast and we ended up going and sourcing our own breakfast which wasn't a problem. Room service fine. Staff friendly and helpful. For people who want to travel on a budget this was the perfect option. Location was questionable on some nights but didn't bother us too much.

There are many small food places one minute away, it’s a great way to explore NY. Front desk staff are very friendly. Rooms are comfy, pillows are comfy. Wish there was a closet. I like the rotating doors. I would recommend it.

The front desk was nice and quick to attend to needs. The rooms are very small but it worked for us. The free breakfast was very basic: cereals, bread, sausages. The hotel is about a 3 minute walk to the Subway, so the location is great! The room we were had this tiny thing like a window, make sure it's well secured especially if you have a cheeky toddler like I did(she's seated there in one of the pictures). I would stay here again.

Great central location and price, considering how close it is to Manhattan! The rooms, while small, are clean and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The air conditioners are a bit noisy as they rattle, but it’s good white noise as the walls are a little thin. The WiFi did not work well at all, but the TVs had a good channel selection. However, if you are looking for good service, this is not the hotel for you. Staff were not attentive or very friendly, and our room keys did not work for half the time so we kept having to get them to let us into our room! Perhaps the most disturbing of all is how they have no night staff or security. On our last night, the people in a room close to us had a huge fight, and the yelling, swearing, thumps and door slams lasted well into the wee hours of the morning. There was no front desk to call or security to notify! Overall, if you want a cheap place to stay that is close to all the action of NYC, it’s a solid option.

We had a double room which was sparsely furnished due to the limited space with a bed, a nightstand and a small couch next to the door as well as a TV. The bathroom was surprisingly large, but there was mold on the first day, which was cleared up with the first shower. Cleanliness was otherwise OK, apart from the sticky remote control there was nothing to complain about. Towels were changed daily and the bed was made fresh. The check-in went smoothly; at checkout we asked for a confirmation email from the hotel provider with the daily rate. The reason for this remained unclear even when asked, but there were no problems. The location to 21st Queensbridge is pretty good, the two hotel construction sites on the left and right, where work started early in the morning, were less pleasant. The WiFi on the 8th floor worked very poorly; apart from text messages, almost nothing went through. But the TV had many ppv channels like HBO. All in all, it's just OK, especially for the price.

Rooms are small but clean and reasonable, wifi works, and hotel is easy to get to on the F. There is however one major drawback to this hotel, and that is the bathrooms. The shower isn't separated and you will walk through water every time you enter the bathroom. Depending on how careful you are, your whole room may be water. You will not have sufficient shower gel or shampoo. The shades also did not fully cover the window. If you're a solo traveler just looking for a place to sleep, this isn't the worst place I've stayed by far, so don't be dissuaded!

Really new and clean, super comfortable bed. Conveniently close to subway to Coney Island and Manhattan. 24-hour deli on the corner. Only gave it four stars because the in-room telephone couldn't make outgoing calls and shower water spreads over the bathroom floor. Would definitely stay here again.

I’m very disappointed in my stay.. I’ve used the Hotel app for all my reservations but this is by far the worst !! I’ve tried to contact management in regards to a refund for my stay. My room had stains on the walls, the bathroom was a stand up shower & the water literally went all around the bathroom I woke up and the floor was still wet. Not to mention my husband got cut with the metal rail that was attached to the wall near the bed. It was reported and no one did anything, not even a first aid kid was available. It was truly the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Pay extra & stay somewhere else.

Place was small, rooms were clean but very compact with no wardrobe or space for suitcases, bed was GREAT. Other guest was clearly on a bender and woke the entire floor at 2.30am belting on his door to be let in Spent the rest of the night running in and out of room shouting playing loud music and being a pain in the a$$. Staff should have kicked him out.

This hotel was absolutely atrocious. I have stayed at motels far better than this “hotel”. The location is horrible. Parking is extremely inconvenient. The entry and exit are too narrow for two cars and the actual parking is so small you have to reverse out onto the street. The staff is rude and unprofessional. Our security deposit was kept because THEIR shower did not work. The shower curtains were moldy and I felt dirty walking in my socks..Our luggage had to be kept in the bathroom because the actual room did not have any space for our belongings. However, the real kicker is that along with the deposit being kept, the manager called us at 5 am four days after our stay to tell us that it would be kept. And finally, a week and a half after our stay, the card that was used at the hotel was charged again for the same amount as the day of stay...when we attempted to reach the hotel...the phone was disconnected. The bank reached out and also got a disconnected dial tone. And, when we tried to reach their sister hotel, the Howard Johnson, they said they were no longer in affiliation with the Mayflower Boutique Hotel and had resold their hotel to a different owner years ago..However, these reviews say otherwise..So, who is lying here? Unprofessional, rude, and a complete and utter scam. If they are still in business, they deserve to be shut down immediately for scamming their visitors. Unlawful and abhorrent business practices. Do NOT stay here.

Disgraceful hotel. Rooms not cleaned everyday (I stayed 5nts) Breakfast is bread and cereal and they give in plastic plates, cups and cutlery that you have to clean your table after you finish. No one at reception for few times that I arrived Adicional $100 deposit Rude staff Not secured hotel They use to turn off the hot water few times( I believe to save money) While you have your lovely “breakfast” you can see housekeeping doing the laundry right beside you. Not hygienic No cups in the room( I asked but they refused to give me) It looks like they just started the business. It was my first time in NY and definitely I won’t go back to this place
