Very sad that we can’t put 0 stars. Go anywhere but there. Also, they are the most unhelpful and rude people over the phone.

The staff are extremely rude and curt, and the doctors aren’t much better. It’s literally IMPOSSIBLE to schedule an appointment within a reasonable timeframe. I’ve never had a positive experience here in my 4 years at this school, ESPECIALLY in regard to mental healthcare. They don’t care about you. UPDATE: STILL TERRIBLE! Wellness Exchange is totally useless—I don’t need counseling from a stranger over the phone, I need MEDICATION. Why is the pharmacy closed over the weekend?

This is based on my initial experience reaching out for referrals from the health center. I met with Dr. Wang virtually and she was not only very empathetic and professional, but knew exactly how to connect me to the various specialists I needed to see. I was confused by the student health insurance system and thought I needed to do it all on my own through an external provider, but once that confusion was cleared up I found SHC very caring and helpful. Thank you!

This review is for a scheduled appointment, not urgent care, so keep that in mind. The staff at SHC were incredibly professional, helpful and friendly. They did my full clearance physical with blood work, drug test and EKG in a timely manner with a single appointment and everybody I interacted with seemed very happy to be working there. Highly recommend.

The worst pharmacy ever. They never have my prescription ready, even though I call beforehand to request it. To make matters worse, the male pharmacist only requests asians to put on a mask. The other day, I was nearly unconscious due to pain from my illness and the only person in the building who would help me was the amazing security guard from downstairs. After I continuously stated that I wanted to go home due to the fact that NYU SHC did not accept my insurance, they forced me to sit in a chair for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes of being bothered with 0 assistance, they finally let me go. When I nearly crawled to the elevator, the full 4th floor of staff sat and watched because they refused to provide me with a wheelchair.

To give a star because I cannot post a lower one. Here, at this particular place, the secretary is more like a guard while the doorman is more like a secretary.

The student health center leaves their students without any care over long periods of time. You can't even begin to get an appointment for anything other than COVID. Students are stuck struggling with infections for weeks.

Bad and all staff here should be changed. I needed a flu shoot, and due to a problem with the train I was late only some minutes then they said you were already rescheduled for next month, no solution only that with no smile.

Don't get me wrong, I hate NYU, but the SHC is one thing at this school that I have no complaints about. The professionals I've met with have been empathetic and quick to get me what I need including medications/referrals.

It's better to make an appointment than going to urgent care because you may need to wait for more than 1 hour in urgent care center while you can comfortably wait at home.

**Avoid on-site pharmacy** Everything was great except for the pharmacy — way too slow and prescriptions are filled in a ridiculously hard to open bottle. Went in for a neck sprain and now have even more pain from trying to open this ridiculous bottle. Go elsewhere.

Everyone who works here is really weird and hard/frustrating to talk to

Don’t even bother going here. The staff is blatantly rude, and do not give explanations to any questions you have- or direct you to anyone that can. For a school that cares “so much” about covid-19 safety, their health center is so unhelpful and not urgent to providing you with answers and assistance to any issues you may have.

I came back to edit this review to add that some diagnoses I received here to help recover my health turned my entire life around. The mental health and physical health providers alike are dedicated and life-changing.

I wish to give them 0. I call them twice today, and they just hang me up. This is super unprofessional and unacceptable for a SHC. If you don’t care about students, why do you even work here?

Awful, was prescribed a psychiatric medication (with pretty intense withdraw symptoms) took it for 6 months and now have to beg to get my prescription renewed every month until they just stopped. I was promised I would see a neurologist and then..oh whoops, just kidding. Also, they apparently can't write a script for my meds because I need to have a follow up appointment...oh just kidding I'm in the wrong state. No follow up. No way to connect me with a local provider. Useless. In worse shape now than I was before receiving help from the clinic. I am not a danger to myself or others but what a huge liability for the school and for my providers if I had a different medical situation. Do not seek medical help here.

Remember to download any forms (blood test results, referrals, medications) posted on SHC portal and keep them on your own. Don’t rely on them. Never heard back from this office. My doctor asked me to pick up my medical records a few days later after I filled out the request form. No one will actually contact you. I went to this office on the 3rd floor. The staff in this office just shouted me OUT. I was not even allowed to step in their office. They don’t care about you and don’t want to talk to any patients. Doctors and nurse practitioners were okay at average level. Don’t expect them to be extremely friendly to you. At least they treated patients with professional attitudes. Front desk staff, secretaries, and medical records staff were very unprofessional. I wonder how they could even be hired by NYU. You should never expect them to be nice to you. If you have any alternative insurance, don’t come to this place. SHC ruins your day.

Depends who you get. I’ve had mixed experiences. One of the counselors was friendly and understanding, as was a doctor for a checkup. The doctors I’ve had at the women’s health center were astute and attentive. Some counselors were just condescending and one of the doctors didn’t seem to get why I had come in. So, going in, hope that you get lucky with one of the better practitioners.

👍👍 Everyone at the office is so nice. Dr. Shelton took his time with me and explained all my options without pushing me into anything. He’s wonderful and I trust his expertise. I felt he was looking out for my best interests and not just trying to sell me something. I also really appreciate the price t...

😠 I’m 32. Been going here since I was 14. The lack of communication and professionalism is ridiculous. I was told I needed to have a surgical procedure done and that I needed to meet the provider. On 3 different occasions I was scheduled at the office and each time I got there, staff notified me that...

😠 First of all, I'm a local this was the second time I went to this place. August 08 at 1:00pm, I did 3 person line and I overheard people were arguing at the front desk. My assumption was that of course front desk had an attitude base from last experience. Shortly, a young lady coming out saying to m...

😠 ZERO STARS. They botched my blood sample and lab could not run my tests. Now they are playing a cat and mouse game with phone calls and emails. During my second visit, one of their 'assistants' (will keep 'them' anonymous) asked me for a job because this place doesn't pay them enough. They also have...
