This hospital is absolutely atrocious! To spend 5 hours in a emergency room! To be sent home with no medicine no care plan. My child came in with a fever of 105! No one thought to administer any type of medics to help the fever go down. It took NEARLY 2 hours for Motrin to be administered. When greeted in the front, complete attitudes. The doctors and staff in the back take so long to help and figure out what is going on. I will absolutely never recommend this childrens hospital. The hospital needs a new turn around ASAP

Very professional and friendly staff. Our child needed closed heart surgery and they made the experience to be as smooth as possible. During this time of covid, they made sure parents had their own secluded space away from people. The nurses we had were super nice and attentive. Our surgeon Dr. Bacha was awesome, Mike and Christian, best males nurses hands down. Thank you for making us feel at ease during our time there. 5 Stars! Security staff, you get ZERO stars for being rude and unprofessional, and on my follow up visits I'll be sure to take a photo of you guys wasting time flirting with women so your wives can implement the karma that's due to you. 👮📸🤨

I was only in their ER which was busy but this is NYC. The staff was efficient and thorough & I recommend them over their annex. The anmex is further uptown & there's hardly ever a wait HOWEVER, everyone has a nightmare story to tell you about this place including myself. Avoid it at all costs. Go to 168th street & get treated by an amazing staff.

Our friends’ six year old son is battling brain cancer, which has now been complicated by COVID. He has been admitted to New York Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, however due to the unreasonable COVID restrictions that completely lack the compassion the hospital prides itself with having, my friends are prevented from being at their son’s bedside. Their son is sick and terrified, and now left alone. Despite many of the staff acknowledging this being unreasonable and clearly anyone with reason could find a compromise to allow the mother to be with this poor child while ensuring safety for all, the hospital continues to prevent the mother from staying with her sick son, leaving him alone in the hospital, battling brain cancer while ill. The whole situation is despicable and everything a children’s hospital should not be.

Horrible incompassionate people. My daughter gave birth to twins and my husband and me traveled in for over an hour to visit the baby and they would only let one of us up. My husband had to wait in the lobby and was not allowed to go up even for 5 minutes to see the babies. Stupid covid rules that make no sense. The whole world threw out these stupid covid restrictions..including most other establishments..but the hospital is still in the dark ages. What differences does it make if we go on different days..will the covid only affect if we are there together? Heartless people. They just want excuses to be nasty!!

The expereince here was amazing for the treatment for my infant son who had been inpateint for a month. Due to the chronic issues he was going throughj the doctors are amazing and the ICU very grateful for the nurses and how quick and fast everyone works hand and hand. Down side is only one bathroom and one shower for the unit. In the begiining I did have to spend money on food meals werent provided at first . Gift cards were given from the social worker from other parents that donate to the hospital so that was amazing. Being from out of town it was financially difficult I didnt leave my sons bedside. Dietary the breakfast should be better I did usually go out for breakfast alot of time . Lunch and dinner was good some days I wasnt able to choose what I wanted to eat being that the option wasnt available and my son is a infant. he communication is great when the doctors and nurses. After my son heart surgery had to bring him back for his incision check on Jan 4 I arrived early becuase coming from out of town traffic can be funny from NJ. His apppointment was at 11 was there by 10:15. It was confusing on whre to go because that wasnt explained to me over the phone once i reached check in the front desk assistance ask for my sons informaton she wasnt having a good day because she was very rude. After checking in she stated that I Was early and she said since I'm early she doesnt know what I'm going to do." My response was "I'm going to sit and wait I'm coming from Jersey." She proceeded to call the doctor and directed me to go to the back waiting area . Her response should not have been a resoonse but proiceeded to do her job in the first place call the docotr and direct me to the back. The systmeic Bias that is noticed in the hopsitl is not spoken about or maybe not brought up but thats where I felt uncomfortbale. The treatment is different due to certian class of people Im thanful my son is alive and well. I highly recommend this hsopital for any trauma or severe surgeries.

The covid visiting restrictions are insane. It's so hard for parents or their designated visitors to remain in the hospital all the time. My child's hospital stay would have been far easier had I had other family members give me a break. If you need to be in Columbia Hospital for a few days and have other obligations it's extremely difficult if well meaning people can't help by coming to the hospital and relieving you. Most people don't want to commit to being the third on the list but are willing to come once a week for a few hours. And security is so rude. They won't dare crack a smile at the vulnerable patients and parents and they're the first we see when arriving to the hospital. What a horrible welcome. I've been to many hospitals and in other places security are firm yet kind. There's always a nice way to say things but the word nice doesn't exist in the dictionary of Columbia Security. Thumbs up to the nicest nurses!

My second pregnancy and second vaginal delivery at the Morgan Stanley children's hospital and once again, the staff has not failed. Lady checking me into the triage could have been friendlier but other than that I am beyond satisfied with the level of care received. Especial thank you to the wonderful nurses in triage, on L&D floor, and postpartum recovery. You are doing an incredible job! ❤️

The most amazing and professional as well as friendly staff. They treated us like family and saved my sons life. They didn't want to accept any presents. God will repay these angles for their work.

We are complimenting the teams at NYP Washington Heights here as people need to be recognized for outstanding service. Our 17yr old son had a very large brain tumor and Dr. Sisti and his team removed it on Tuesday Feb 15th. They did an absolutely amazing job BUT hats off to my son's nurses, PTs, OTs and floor staff on the children's side of the hospital. After surgery on the adult side, due to his age we were able to go to the Ped-ICU (central 11) and then down to the 8th floor after 36hrs. We spent 3-days on the 8th floor. Nothing short of completely amazing care and attitudes of my son's entire care-giver team. It seemed like a competition of who could be the nicest, most helpful and caring. Not only are kudos due to these people but the entire hiring and managing staff for identifying these caregivers and proper mentoring. Your hospital made a very serious situation as comforting as possible and we cannot thank NYP enough. Please look up the records of all who helped our son and give them proper recognition.

We were recommend to get a service animal for our daughter that suffers from anxiety, seizures, panic attack and have 2 brain tumors. Our service dog is proper trained for months, is licensed and registered in the state of NY. This is the 2nd time we have this issue with employees 🙄 and our service dog. The staff needs to be trained on how to handle being around a service dog that is working. Next time I will be talking to a lawyer.

This place isn’t that great . WARNING!!!! If your child has to have blood drawn be very careful of the lab in room 114. IF YOU WALK IN AND SEE ANDREA ALEXANDER RUN THE OTHER WAY!! Forget the fact that she’s obnoxious and rude she can’t find a vein for the life of her and will make your kid cry for an hour it’s heartbreaking. Avoid at all costs and Columbia claims she’s the best they have . That’s pretty frightening.

I feel that we made the right decision to bring our daughter because we needed a team of doctors to help us. Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long in the ER, but we did have to wait for tests to be done. I was very impressed with the teams of doctors, nurses and all staff members who were involved in her care.

My cousin and I have called ten times within a 8hour period just to check up on her son. She can’t speak English so she put me as the emergency contact line. Any who’s her son is 5months old and was down with the flu so he had to be admitted. My poor cousin couldn’t even sleep because she was so worried about her baby and I told the nurses she was stressing out about her son she just wants an update, still no one would give her any updates on her sons well being. We were told the doctor would call us to give us his status, we waited and waited and still no news. Now it’s been about 3 hours and that phone call is long overdue considering there is a worried mother waiting for an update about her 5month old baby. Y’all need to fix your policy, saying you can’t give information over the phone, especially since we confirmed it was me(the emergency contact) and the mother on the line. Whenever I take my kids to the childrens hospital near me, everything is smooth sailing. Can’t say the same for this one.

The fact that you will not let a 6 year old boy with brain cancer not let his mother or father stay with him is absolutely absurd! This poor scared little boy is dealing with what most adults wouldn't be able to deal with, and to not let him have his mother with him is absolutely ridiculous. Dr Saiman head of infectious disease abd the hospital administration should be ashamed of themselves! Where is the bedside manner and human decency?!? This is a CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL!!!

It's a good hospital for kids, but they don't care about parents. They don't even bother to feed you. You can stay in a room with ur child for days and weeks, and they don't even offer a food tray. That's ridiculous! My daughter was having seizures, and I was afraid to leave her. She's a baby. I was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks and NEVER RECEIVED A FOOD TRAY. I was so hungry, I actually asked for a tray, and they told me they couldn't do that. WOW!

Emergency Room management is subpar; in other word SUCK😡this is UNACCEPTABLE!! The emergency room provided the worst service. We arrived around 6 PM, saw a doctor at 11 PM, 🤢and she ordered a CT scan for my mom. Four hours later, no one showed up, so I had to take my mom (walking) through the ER back and forth. Start begging for help. They took only 5 minutes to perform the test – unbelievable! 😡 It's been two hours, and we haven't seen the results or the doctor. Note: They're not busy; I see a lot of empty beds.

I can't rave enough about the staff here. We just had our first child delivered here and the experience so far has been top notch. From a routine prenatal visit to an emergency c-section within less than 2 hours, you can imagine what we were going through. I left work ASAP and the surgical team not only patiently waited, but greeted me with a sea of smiles, my wife was very comfortable throughout the procedure and the staff from the post-op to the recovery room were very nice, attentive and knowledgeable. Balin Farah, RN was definitely a standout staff of the bunch. If you're lucky enough to deliver when she's there, she'll walk you through all you need to know. Cynthia Aguilar, RN managed our recovery stay and was also incredibly helpful - she is very organized and has a lot of experience to share with newborns (that we will benefit from). Dr. Talati, the OB/GYN handling the prenatal care made sure to stop by even after a hectic day on her end. Whatever formula they use to hire staff is a great one! Definitely would recommend CHONY for your newborn needs!

My wife and I came in for delivery of our son. My son was safely delivered through an unplanned C section. But everything else about this hospital is atrocious. The staff does not communicate to one another nor do they communicate to patients what is been done and why. I will never come back to this facility because they delivered the bare minimum. My family and I survived Columbia Presbyterian, I hope yours does too if you unfortunately have to come here.

Amazing experience! Delilah in Labor and delivery was wonderful! Afua was amazing in Neonatal ward! PLEASE NOTE FOR NEW MOTHERS!: As far as lactation specialists and three hospital in general, they should advise that you might not produce enough milk and may need to resort to formula. Our baby was born on 12/23 and due to Xmas on Friday, our first pediatric appointment was on Monday 12/28 and our baby had severe jaundice. It was because I was not producing nearly enough for her and she had jaundice for a week since we had to make up for it. I think the hospital should inform first time mothers to pump and keep an eye out for their milk. We asked how do we know if we're producing enough and we were told not to worry about it since she was doing well in the hospital.

I paid to leave this hospital. Chairs are all over the place, furniture is old and dirty. Staff is friendly but ER is severely understaffed. Who ever is in charge isn’t doing their best to demonstrate it. Expect long wait time, please stay away from here.

Same experience in the ER. No medicine no care plan after weeks of 102-104 fever. Was asked to come back 2 days later to the ER after an alarming blood exam only to waste my time and refuse to see my child and disregarded my situation. Patient services knew the doctor and refused to give me a name and basically asked me to comply because they knew the person who sent me home. Shame on them!!!

I took my son here for the first time and I don't regret it not one bit! We were in and out of the ER within 2 hours , the wait isn't long at all they tend to you fast and are very welcoming and informative.. unlike Montefiore Children's Hospital that's located on Bainbridge where they leave you ina room for hours and don't inform you on anything.10/10 recommend .

Extremely disappointed with the Phlebotomy Department here. The first time my daughter had her blood taken, the individual was very rude and disrespectful to both my daughter and I. The second time last week, again another individual was extremely unprofessional with her comments towards my daughter and her sample she gave. On top of it all, there was a mix up with the bloodwork that was taken, apparently they forgot to put the requisition inside the bag with the bloods. By the time it was sorted out, only some of the tests could be performed and the rest my daughter has to redo again. There definitely needs to be some retraining or something done for individuals to feel comfortable when visiting this department.

The care my daughter received in labor and delivery was exceptional but the lack of a waiting room for family members is atrocious. there are a dozen chairs by the elevators but not allowed to sit in them. Why?? told hospital policy. then how about having some comfortable chairs in the main lobby?? Sitting in hard metal chairs for hours is punishment while waiting for a loved one having surgery. Shameful.

You go to a hospital believing it’s a place you will receive care and can trust train professionals only to have unfold before you these professionals overseeing your health have attitudes, being uncommunicative and uncaring. Bedside manner is patient care as well as being informative. My grandmother sat in a chair for 14 hours, with no information as to what was being done, no water or food, just another name tag seat warmer. Here’s a tip treat your patients like you would want your family if it were them.

Should be illegal to be spending almost 10 hours and COUNTING after having my partner checked in the ER for potential food poisoning and putting IVs. Still not even out yet. Doctors say “be back in a sec” and come back in 2 hours

Very good hospital, my daughter was born in Allen Pavilion which is part of the NYPH, over the years my daughter has needed many medical services because she was born prematurely and thanks to God and the good services of this hospital my daughter has overcome all the impediments that affected her development since she has had very good doctors, dedicated, ethical, trained, and determined to help my daughter, especially from the physical and occupational therapy department. On the other hand, her pediatrician, Dr. Matiz, who provides services at WHFHC, is very good pediatrician together with her my daughter has had a good monitoring of her health, some people may have negative opinions but we must remember that our expectations will not always be met 100%, it is a hospital that offers all the specialties to treat the health of our children and I recommend it 100%

Emergency room for children: I guess it all depends what time you come in. Morning and afternoon crew work very fast and they actually resolve what ever problem you come in with. Night crew sucks I have been waiting for a doctor for that past 2 hrs and my son hasn't been checked. He is in so much pain and they haven't even checked or given him anything. I have this hospital at night.

My experience here has been more than amazing. From the doctors, to the treatments, and the rooms, everything was so nice, even the ER! We were admitted to the sixth floor. There, my daughter had the best medical team I have ever seen. The people who I cannot forget for their wonderful service are: Doctor Rebecca Carlin, Doctor Nina Azcue, Doctor Gregory Kanelas, Katherine tb, Keri Villano, and Janel Escoto, and many more. Thank you for your amazing help there on my stay. This hospital truly is one of the best.

Had a wonderful check in experience as well as experience with the triage nurse. Was having a decent experience with the doctor who was caring for him,Nina Hu, MD until I told her I would like for my son to be able to stay for some time after taking the medication that was prescribed to him to ensure he experienced some relief before leaving and she got loud and stormed off. My son has been sick for three weeks and seeing multiple different doctors who have all prescribed a different course of action. I told her I came to a children’s hospital for targeted support and relief for him before he is to be discharged and that made her visibly rude and disrespectful. She turned her back on myself and my son and raised her voice. Ashley Blanchard, MD also came over to speak to us and was not very helpful just told us we had to let this process take it’s course of action even though my son is visibly suffering in her face. Basically asked me what were my expectations from the ER. They then moved us to a room where they said patient services would come and speak to us and no one came. I hurt for my son who has left his third ER visit without any real results. I will never come back here. This was a big mistake.
