After several years of watching my daughter struggle through ineffective therapists, residential programs, hospitalization, and outpatient programs, we finally got the help we needed from the Family Center for Bipolar Disorders. I believe that fate or a higher power guided me to their website over 2 years ago when I felt that we had no place else to turn. With extremely knowledgeable and caring doctors & staff, my daughter was finally able to get the help she so desperately needed. The doctors are willing to Skype with us regularly since we don't live in NY. And they are always available and responsive to text messages. The doctors understand that a bi-polar disorder requires more than a quick fix and they are more than willing to put in the time & effort to provide continuous and quality care.We have seen tremendous progress in 2 years and I don't know where we would be without them.

Finding a treatment team within the field of mental health in New York and even the United States altogether can be daunting at first given the many options. Yet, the treatment concepts at the Galynker Center make this process reassuring. By having a significant other and/or other family members involved within the treatment plan, this unique approach to therapy further assists in the best care of each individual and for the family itself. Each provider at the center (especially the psychiatrist Dr. Galynker) has a unique background with various modality specialities. Additionally, the providers at the center communicate together as a team and moreover, work to help families as a whole when navigating how to help each client (and their families) grow dynamically in facilitating the best healthy change.

Working with this office is like winning a golden ticket for mental health and wellness. They are thoughtful, collaborative, and organized on enriching their patients' lives and being available in the most needed moments and in the building periods in between. Highly recommend!

Dr. Galynker has been a game-changer in my mental health journey. From the moment I stepped into his office, I felt heard, understood, and supported. His approach to therapy is not only professional but also deeply empathetic and compassionate. One of the things I appreciate most about Dr. Galynker is his ability to create a safe and non-judgmental space where I can openly discuss my concerns and struggles. He actively listens and provides feedback, helping me gain valuable insights into my thoughts and behaviors. Moreover, Dr. Galynker is incredibly knowledgeable and up-to-date with the latest advancements in psychiatry and mental health treatment. He take the time to explain different treatment options, ensuring that I am fully informed and involved in the decision-making process regarding my care. Thanks to Dr. Galynker's expertise and guidance, I have made significant progress in managing my symptoms and improving my overall well-being. I highly recommend Dr. Galynker to anyone seeking compassionate and effective psychiatric care.

This is the place! I feel so fortunate that we found the FCfBP five months after diagnosis. Dr.Cohen and Christina have included us in our child’s treatment. Most importantly our child has shown marked improvement and the future looks bright. As a family, we are included in all decisions. I feel that my child trusts the doctors and therapists and we have access via text 24/7. If there is ever anything concerning we can reach out or the doctors reach out to us. I don’t believe there is a better place for my child. If I could give more stars I would. The Galinker Center is the best decision we have made. I will never look back.

The Family Center is maybe the only reality in NYC where a team of TOP psychiatrists and therapists work with you (and your significant other/s) to really provide you with the best care. Staff put lot of effort, passion, care mixed expertise in different fields of psychiatry to help clients. Thank you!

Dr. Galynker is an amazing doctor as well as a good person. He is highly intelligent with exceptional diagnostic skills. He can detect when his patients are “off” and asks questions. He is well versed in the mind, mental health, brain chemistry and what medications to prescribe (and more importantly, what medications will likely cause adverse reactions). He understands people and has a very unique perceptive. He got to know me and remembered what you told him in prior sessions. It was during a difficult time in my life that I met him. The unique “whole family” approach that he has established, although unusual, gives all of us access to him. Seeing him was a game changer. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Galynker. He genuinely cares about me and my well being. He changed my life and my family for the better and I will be forever grateful to him.

My experience with the Family Center was absolutely excellent! I was part of the intake of my significant one, we were welcomed in a cozy, neat and beautiful office in Manhattan. One Specialized Doctor (Psychiatrist) and one therapist interviewed us, both together and separately. I was surprised how thorough and caring the staff was. At the end they discussed the plan with the team, involving us in all the decisions. They made a very complex treatment plan with not only medications but also a specific type of therapy. The providers have backgrounds in different sub specialty of mental health, which make the plan tailored on the patient’s specific needs.

Have her followed by the Physicians at Family Center for Bipolar for years now. I travel from Staten Island to Manhattan because of the philosophy of this group. The physicians are compassionate, professional and experts in Bipolar Disorder. The family is included in the planning care and are free to call the Practitioners with any concerns they may see in the home environment . Highly recommend this Bipolar Center for anyone with this diagnosis. Thank you for caring for me !

Doctor Igor Galynker is a god sent . After three (3) hospitals, piling medications, we lost hope. My husband was getting worse and worse. Medications caused problems walking and multiple falls. Last fall in March of 2019 ended in the emergency room and fear to walk by himself. I was forced to accompany him to all visits, even for a hair cut. First we have learned about Doctor from our internist. Then, we got recommendations from other specialist. They said that Dr. Galynker is "top of the top". Our first visit was in June of 2019. Dr. Galynker is very attentive, sharp, brilliant minded. All his decisions and suggestions worked. And now after 8 months we see wonderful results. Medications were reduced to minimum. My husband feels much better, he walks by himself everywhere, which is big releaf to me. And everyone says that now he looks like before his disease. We only regret, that we did not know about this wonderful doctor earlier, because this ordeal lasted long 5 years. Thank you, Doctor Galynker. We wish you health and happiness. And we recommend our favorite doctor to everyone, who has similar problems and has doubts.

I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for Dr. Carbonaro. He is so much more than just your typical psychiatrist. He is extremely knowledgeable, empathetic, understanding, down to earth and goes above and beyond to help. A perfect example: I had an emergency and he called me while he was on vacation out of the country to talk to me and to help me through it! He makes it a point to work with you to include you in all of your treatment decisions and takes the time to listen to you and is able to explain things to you in a way that you can understand. Becoming Dr. Carbonaro's patient has changed my life and he has helped me more than anyone has ever been able to. He is an amazing doctor and a great person.

After several decades of trying to find a sustainable treatment of my bipolar disorder, I settled with the notion that it will never happen. As a professional in the field of psychology, I would often try to imagine what would be the kind of help I am looking for. At some point I was referred to The Richard and Cynthia Zirinsky Center for Bipolar Disorder center, and specifically Dr.Galynker. Every session with this doctor is our joint quest for my stabilization and ability to be in control of this elusive illness. I would have never imagined such a unique, family oriented approach that Dr.Galynker offers, including daily (!) monitoring, thoughtful tailored treatment, and his amazing accessibility.

As someone who has bipolar and is also a professional in the mental health field my standards for treatment are very high. Dr Galynker has more than met them. As a new patient, in adjusting my medication Dr Galynker had me keep a daily log of my mood and my sleep that he oversaw on a regular basis so that together we could detect the earliest signs of an adverse reaction. I am grateful for the sense of security this gave me in doing something that I was nervous about. His accessibility goes above and beyond. When I had an issue that adversely affected my mood that I waited to report at our next session, he admonished me for not texting him immediately. Such examples indicate to me that if I ran into a crisis situation my odds of his helping me avoid hospitalization would be maximized and this means the world to me. He is highly knowledgeable, a good listener and a compassionate human being. I count myself as fortunate to be under his care. I experienced Dr Kronen as empathic, warm and respectful. At my intake session, in the interview with my husband she was highly insightful as well as professional. I find the Center’s involvement of a family member or significant other of the patient to be enlightened and of real value.

Dr. Galynker and his team are extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and compassionate. In their care, our son and our family feel that we are on the path of stabilization and healing. Rebecca is truly amazing. She not only shows you the right path but also connects with the doctor's and the patient/parents' view. Her insight, wisdom, and guidance are helping our family survive this difficult time.

I highly recommend Rebecca Silver as a life coach and therapeutic support provider. She was able to help us as parents during some very challenging times. She was the bridge I needed in understanding how to help our child while helping myself. She is compassionate yet firm and kept me focused on the goal of health and healing for our child as well as our family. She is the additional support needed as a parent works their way through very uncharted territory. Thank you Rebecca for your work and care!

Our experience with Dr Galynker and the Zirinsky Center of Bipolar Disorders at Mount Sinai/Beth Israel was unique in that we were a family that for the first time was faced with a serious psychiatric problem. The approach of the institute was geared not only toward the patient but was a comprehensive family centered model. In addition, the combination of pharmacological knowledge of Dr Galynker combined with the therapy approach of the other members of the team provided us with not only a reassuring environment but also an education into an area we truly knew not much about and felt quite helpless. I fully and completely would recommend Dr Galynker and Dr Kazariantz for any family embarking upon this difficult time of their lives.

Dr. Nikiforov is saving my life. I have never received such incredible care from a psychiatrist before. His intelligence and expertise in Bipolar Disorder, medications and beyond is extraordinary. He genuinely cares about my wellbeing and progress, he is extremely attentive when I talk and maintains excellent communication with me and my family members with regards to my condition. I have been seeing psychiatrists for 27 years of my life and I finally found THE absolute BEST there is. His team and staff are absolutely wonderful as well. Everyone in this practice treats me with such respect, as a person who deserves this respect and not just as another patient. I travel over 100 miles (round trip) every week just to see Dr. Nikiforov and I would do it every single day if I had to. He is absolutely amazing and everything a doctor SHOULD be!

My son (20) had a long history of working with various therapists and none had ever been able to form a real bond with him. When my son arrived at Galynker he was quite oppositional and I didn't expect the affiliation to last beyond the first session. My son was teamed up with Dr. Firouz Ardalan PhD (for talk therapy) and Dr. Konstantin Nikiforov (for psychiatry). It's a testament to their skills, their humanity and their stamina that they were able to hang in there with my son's ups and downs and maintain a treatment plan. Dr. Firouz is the most caring and wise therapist my son has ever worked with, and importantly he maintained contact with us (with my son's permission) and was responsive whenever there was a question or issue. Dr. Firouz was able to see beyond my son's negativity and connect with his vulnerability and goodness. For once, my son was able to say he loved his therapist. And Dr. Niki was always there to explore pharmacological paths and to fine tune medications. My son's journey is still ongoing, but I know that the team at Galynker is there for him. When my insurance company denied their receipts and wanted letters of medical necessity they were both available to write the letters promptly and help us get reimbursement. Dr. Firouz is always proactive about checking in with us and knows how we grapple as parents. In short, we're so lucky that our son found his way to Galynker and took him on. Thank you Dr. Firouz and Dr. Niki and Galynker.

5+ stars for Rebecca Silver. She is a warm and resourceful provider who provided thoughtful guidance over the last 2 years. She made herself available at seemingly all times, being a partner in the journey and truly invested in my family's outcome. I am deeply appreciative.

Rebecca Silver is a best-in-class life coach who engages deeply, compassionately, and effectively. Rebecca fosters calm, clarity and confidence in her clients—the three things parents dealing with addiction need most and often find in shortest supply. She doesn’t shy away from sharing her personal experiences, what helped her get through her toughest times. As a psychotherapist, I have recommended Rebecca to my own clients and she always gets rave reviews. Highly recommend.

I'm so grateful for the Galynker Center for Bipolar Disorder and the incredible care they provided for my loved one. As her treatment partner, I saw firsthand the challenges of living with bipolar disorder and the difficulty in finding the right care and support. However, when we discovered the Galynker Center, it was a game-changer. Dr. Galynker and his team of clinicians are truly amazing. They provided tailored treatment that fit my partner's unique needs, and their family-oriented therapeutic space was very welcoming and calming. From the very beginning, we felt supported and cared for. What really stood out was the team's dedication and expertise. They worked collaboratively to provide the best possible care, and their compassion and commitment were amazing! As a treatment partner, I felt like they listened to my concerns and included me in the treatment process, which I appreciated a lot! If you or your loved one is struggling, I highly recommend the Galynker Center.

My experience as a treatment partner for my loved one has been very positive. Sasha, his therapist at the center, is easy to communicate with and devoted to her client’s wellbeing. I would recommend her highly to anyone seeking therapy.

The Family Center for Bipolar Disorder. Has changed my family’s life. I am my sister’s treatment partner in the program. We had no hope for two years, we did not understand the disease. Could not understand why she was not getting better, we were hopeless. The center has gave us hope, and also action we no longer feel stuck. It has changed are outlook. And gave my sister the help she needed and also as family the help we needed. Sasha is Sarah’s therapist, from the minute we met her we liked her so much. She has a talent for making you feel comfortable and exploring trauma. But also coming up with a plan. As a therapist I couldn’t ask for a better fit with my sister. She has real talent. My sister and I are very lucky. I can’t say enough good things about her, and Dr. Nikki he is brilliant. They have changed my sister’s life.

A family member was severely disabled due to mental health conditions and had seen multiple doctors without ever really having any improvement. After much research we found this center and have been working with Dr Nikiforov and Irina for years now. The dedication of these medical providers to their patients is unprecedented to anything we’ve ever experienced in the past. It is so hard to find good help these days especially when it comes to mental health. So many doctors don’t care and just prescribe medication haphazardly without giving it much thought. The team at the center are highly experienced to treat the very complicated disease of bipolar disorder, there’s simply nobody else I would trust at this point.

I have been working with Sasha for the better part of this year and it has been a wonderful experience. Meeting with her weekly has helped me tremendously. She also stays connected with my family which is very important to me. Sasha gives great advice and input and always ends the sessions with goals so I always have something to work towards. I definitely recommend her services to anyone that is struggling to find that right therapist. Thank you!

After researching psychiatrists specializing in bipolar disorder for months, I was incredibly lucky to be given Dr. Galynker's name from a friend of a friend who lives in New York City. My family has been working with Dr. Galynker at The Zirinsky Center for Bipolar Disorder for the past year and we could not be more impressed or more grateful for the positive changes he's affected. I love his unique approach to treating bipolar that includes the whole family in treatment. If you are searching for help with a bipolar disorder and have stumbled across Dr. Galynker's name or the Zirinsky Center for Bipolar Disorder, let me be clear: Look no further. You have found the best in the field.

This medical center is amazing. American medicine has long become a huge industry where patients feel like insignificant cogs, and families are dismissed as nuisances. The Galynker Center gives patients their dignity and sense of worth and recognizes patients’ families for their role in treatment and their place in patients’ lives.

I have been a patient of Dr. Galynker and Dr. Kronen for nearly three years and could not recommend them more highly. They have gone above and beyond to help me and my family. They are smart, insightful, and, perhaps even more rare and valuable in the profession, truly care about their patients. Highly recommend!

Our child was very sick and we were desperate, unable to find treatment to stop his rapid cycling. Dr. Galynker and his team gave us hope, treated our family as a unit and now our son is stable and working. Because of the Family Center he now has a future. Dr. Galynker a unique psychiatrist who has both compassion and the highest level of expertise. We are very grateful that we have found him.

Dr. Galynker embodies the essence of what it means to be an exceptional psychiatrist. What sets him apart is his unparalleled ability to connect on a deeply human level. He approaches his practice with genuine compassion, empathy, and a profound understanding of the complexities of the human mind. He tailors his approach to each patient, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to mental health. Moreover, Dr. Galynker is a relentless advocate for his patients. He is not content with simply managing symptoms; but committed to addressing the underlying causes of distress and fostering lasting transformation. Dr. Galynker instilled in me a sense of hope and empowerment, guiding me toward a path of self-discovery and healing. He has equipped me with the tools and insights necessary to navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience. I am eternally grateful and cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone in search of true healing. Dr. Galynker, thank you for your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of your patients.
