Very crowded. Ordered a $13 cocktail, charged 22$ ——— Update: was giving three stars, now one star. Reason: owner responded to my gentle fact statement with hateful speech and harassment of banning customers from social media. I checked the menu again and I admit my mistake of stating $13 for $15 for the cocktail price. My apologies. But I found another interesting fact! You started responding while you didn’t even know you don’t have a $13 cocktail. Does this place really have a manager? Or just clueless avengers? The experience is already so horrible online after reading your comments to other polite customers. Who dare to risk their lives to speak to your manager outside of a courthouse! It’s my fault to overpay you to harass me. Looks like harassment is part of the standard experience you’re offering here. You redefined Jazz!👍

I had one of my “Bucket List” experience. Sitting close to the talented musicians and listening the up and downs of profound jazz music. Listening honey voiced Naama Gheber and sipping some traditional cocktails was my chance yesterday. 35 USD for each session. One session takes like an hour. One kind of a unique experience to feel the smooth and silent vibes of NYC.

One of the famous jazz clubs in the city. Operated by the same owner of Smalls. Loved it, underground intimate and cozy vibes with super talented band. Friendly staff and excellent service They have live stream tickets or you can watch recorded one(s) free on YouTube. Their calendar is full of events and performances. Get tickets online.

This famous jazz club is a must-visit place with great performances. However, keep in mind that it runs on an extremely tight schedule. Not only do you have to wait past your booked time, but also they kick you out as soon as the performance is over. There is really no time to sit and enjoy your drink after the show. As for the server(s), all they did was to bring you an incomplete order and still has the audacity to ask for a tip BEFORE you get your order. They will ask if you want to close your order, and I recommend that you do right there because not only do you have no time to enjoy anything further, but also if you forget about it and leave when they rush you to get out, it will be closed at the end of the day with 20% tip.

I'm not a jazz expert but I do enjoy a live music venue from time to time, and Mezzrow did not disappoint! It's a small jazz club in and around the West Village/Union Square area which provides some fantastic cocktails, small bites, and, of course, jazz! The performance itself lasted for about an hour and towards the end the waitress will ask if you want to stay for the next show. I'm not sure if that happens often but it's not to know that option exists in case you want to stay longer. Pro-tip: Make reservations in advance! It does get packed.

Mezzrow is such a lovely spot! Located in the West Village, this place has an amazing atmosphere + the perfect set-up for providing great entertainment (notably live jazz). The space is warm & intimate. Additionally, the staff are kind & attentive and the cocktails are delicious (try their Paloma)!!

Another great address in New York. This little Jazz club will require that you book your table before coming. Once this little challenge passed, you will be able to enjoy a very qualitative Jazz concert. You will have a close view to the music band. About the drinks, they have a classic menu that will give you the opportunity to drink a Manhattan at Mannhattan! Cheers!

Awesome tiny venue for listening to jazz. Note that the room was a musicians room so you will need to be quiet during the performance. If you can get a seat at the front you will be right next to the musicians and can feel like you’re really part of the music. Wine is also delicious.

My favourite jazz place in New York. Always busy, get tickets if you can, otherwise you could be stuck at the back standing up. Great table service from our favourite Melbournian server!

Such a cool, authentic jazz club in NYC's West Village. We went to see the amazing Samara Joy and it was a spectacular evening. The club is very small and intimate. It's not expensive ($35 pp) and they also only have a one drink minimum. I will definitely be back. They currently require proof of vaccine but as of October 2021, mask are not required although about a third of the people (generally older) were wearing them.

Mezzrow is a hip old school jazz spot in the west village. If you want to get the good seats book online and get there early. If you want to save some money you can walk up and take your chances in the back. The music is always on point and they do 3 sessions a night. Very cool!!

My favorite jazz club in NYC — and that’s a high bar! I love how small and intimate this place is. It really feels like you are in the band, not in the audience. Acoustics are great and I like the fact that they don’t serve food — fewer distractions, clinking noises, and people chewing through the performance. Every evening I’ve been here the music has been fantastic. Yes, they do rush you to get out after the 1-hour mark, but this is what you have to do to survive as a tiny jazz club in NYC. I am totally fine with it. Will be back soon!

Wonderful experience, amazing music. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. One of our hosts managed to seat us close to the jazz trio. It made our trip to New York so special. Thank you. We were only given peanuts or olives as food options but we were walk-ins and had eaten earlier anyway. We stayed until the end of the last set. The trio was amazing.

Absolutely fantastic jazz bar. I have been a couple times and it has been magical. It's very small and intimate with daily shows usually two acts and two sessions each. One drink minimum per session. This is a sister club of legendary Smalls across the street. Overall one of the best jazz clubs I have been to and will repeat for sure

I go to their other location smalls very often and haven’t been here in a while. We got tickets online for 40 dollars which is what smalls charges as well. But I have never been told to leave after 45 mins of music. We got 9pm tickets and the show started at 9:15 ended at 10. We were told to leave which most clubs will give you 1.5 hrs. When I asked they said that there shows are always 1 hr and that the music started at 9. But I sent a message to my friend who was using the restroom when the music started so I know It was 9:15. Not a problem but 40 dollars for 45 mins music and I wasn’t able to finish my drink because by the time it came it was 9:30. Honestly very disappointing ! I do think smalls their other location is better for seating purposes and service. They’re live jam Sessions are amazing ! But not this location

Club is nice, small and cozy. Perfect atmosphere here. Service is nice but i cant give full stars as cocktails are really cheap made. After first drink i went with bottled beer instead. Also I dont like that during the performance they "kill the vibe" with the bill. I think they are doing it on purpose . As they automatically add 18% tip and after that they ask for another tip, so it is easy to overpay like 30 % while enjoying the music. Service understood everything and when I asked if "tip is included" suddenly he wasnt able to hear and played "stupid". But the music and musicians were great .

Great (but tiny) spot. You can get tickets in advance or take a chance on snagging a remaining seat upon arrival. I arrived around 9pm on a Saturday and only waited half an hour for my party of three, though we felt lucky. I believe the cover was $25 with a one-drink minimum, but there were reasonable prices on the menu and the experience was well worth the cost. When people talked in the back near the door, it could be quite hard to hear the music, but the whole venue was great about getting loud people to shut up. AMAZING jazz. My companions left earlier than me while I stuck around for a second set, and the host invited me to join a table in the very front for the second set. It was absolutely amazing and I really look forward to returning.

One of the great jazz listening rooms. Intimate, with an almost religious atmosphere of love and devotion for the music. Great drinks and service too!

Arrive early - before doors open - and buy your tickets in advance if you want a hope of getting a seat or table.

Had an amazing time at Mezzrow last night for their jazz night! The music was top-notch, especially from Gabrielle Stravelli, Michael Kanan, and Pat O'Leary. The drinks were also good. The only downside was the cramped and stuffy atmosphere - it was so hot and hard to breathe in there. Props to the performers though! 🎷🎶🍸

Very cool jazz venue, so glad I got to witness this performance! I went on Thurs Dec 29. We couldn't get too close to the performance area, but the music is amplified throughout the venue and we could still get a glimpse of the pianist and bassist. You'll need reservations if you want a seat. The bar made great cocktails too, if that helps you to know :) but you go for the music and to overhear amazing musicians exchanging perspectives and stories. Can't wait to go back!

One of my favorite venues in NYC 🫶🏻 if you like/love jazz, this is the place to go. A small and intimate venue with the most beautiful cocktails and always top class music 🎶

  • 5/5 Rainer H. 1 year ago on Google
A jazz lover's dream. Small, intimate venue, you can catch every small detail of the performance. Honest cover charges, honest drink prices. Mezzrow has similar approach to music as its sister venue, Smalls, but is a bit more comfortable, a nice place to take a jazz-loving date. We saw an exceptional performance by a young and talented guitar player and his group. One of our best musical experiences ever.
