My father went in on Monday and walked in to the emergency room and told the front desk that he had chest pain they told him to write his name down and take a seat. Kindly again said Iā€™m sorry but I donā€™t feel well and the receptionist shrug there shoulders. My dad ended up going to mountainside hospital immediately after and had a massive heart attack. Thanks to the immediate response from the emergency room at mountainside my dad survived. I will never recommend this hospital not even to my worst enemy. God bless whoever decides to go there hereafter.

I Visited the same day surgery center located at 142 Magnolia St. So this review is about that and NOT for the actual hospital located at the same block. Surgery center staff was very helpful and in such positive and upbeat mood to greet us even at 5.30 AM when we arrived. The registration and prep work for surgery was surprisingly on schedule and no delay for any step at all. Great efficiency with great personal attention!! There is a parking lot right across the entrance. Just push the button on the dial pad at the gate and tell them you are there for a same day surgery and the guard will open it for you. Two vending machines in the hallway and public restrooms too. All located close to the waiting area. Vending machines serve hot drinks like different coffees and teas. One machine serves snacks. Apple pay and credit cards are accepted to pay for stuff from both vending machines. There is also a full cafeteria in the basement. Just take an elevator to level L. Good and more choices to eat in cafe. Serves really good coffee. Breakfast is open till 10.30a. If you go there with a family member or for your own medical procedure, good luck and God Bless!!

Can't give them even one star. Hospital is beautiful, but people working there as a receptionist at "Same Day Surgery" are terrible. Very rude, unpleasant, and unprofessional conducting the public. Not sure why management will hire people like that. I personally will never do that. Not only that they DON'T help you, but actually will make you extremely frustrated. I hope that will never end up going there again. VERY indifferent people. Nothing connects them with medical professions. You NEED to be a good person by heart to work in medical field.

Before giving birth the care was great and even excellent. When it was time for my labor in 9/11/21. I didnā€™t like it. The nurse put the epidural hard as heck. I didnā€™t like it and it made me feel like I shouldnā€™t have had the epidural. Then when I was already dilated in 10cm. It was an easy 7 minutes push out for my baby to come out but the doctor who was assisting or midwife that was there had grabbed my baby with roughness. And I didnā€™t like that.

I don't understand why when you check in they take your insurance information. Then 4 months later you still get bills with incredible amounts owed and they never filed a claim with the insurance. I now have to call several times and give them the same info they should have. At least write it down when I check in and if it's in the budget make a photocopy!

First you start your visit with a rude black receptionist, that can barely communicate and just points out things with her finger. Does this person not know how to properly give treat people. The ā€œdoctorā€ I had once I was in a waiting room said my condition to be unable to walk sit and stand properly was not something serious that I would be given only medication. Iā€™m in a extreme pain, the pain literally makes all my movements difficult. This doctor said to go to my primary doctor because ER is only for serious emergencies like what. I decided to file a complaint and they have me waiting here for the person that is in charge of the complaints for over an hour. I asked and talked respectfully to everyone I was not rude at all if anyone is thinking that.

The worst hospital ever. They act like the changes they made is better for the people. No, it's better for themselves to get money. All this hospital cares about is money. Not the patients. The hospital rooms are so small not like other hospitals. They are so rude. If a patients is really sick they don't actually do the right thing for the patient like they say. Worse hospital ever. I do not recommend anyone going there seriously.

My husband was hit by a car the other day so we came to this ER as it was the closest. He had a head injury so I assumed they would get him looked at immediately. After requesting multiple times for him to get checked in, they asked him what happened, put him in a wheelchair to wait in the hallway forever, and then put us in another waiting room to finally get a bed. 2 hours have past and my husband still had blood leaking from his face. At that point I told the first nurse I saw that we would be leaving to go to a different hospital. She was then able to have someone grab him for a cat scan which was done quickly however, another hour had passed before our assigned nurse even checked in on us. 5 hours we were there and never saw a doctor or had his face cleaned and properly looked at. Not even his vitals were taken..... Eventually my fear of internal bleeding or brain injury took over !! So I left to another hospital where he was given much better treatment. Luckily he was ok but if the circumstances where different he could have died! Though I do want to mention it seemed under staffed as the nurses looked exhausted and again we never saw a doctor. Its important you know you really have to do better because these are peoples lives and when they walk into your ER it becomes your responsibility to give them the help they need!! Do Better !!

The staff at Clara Maass Medical Center was commendably good and friendly. My wife underwent same-day surgery, and the overall experience was pleasant. The nurse was exceptionally cooperative and kind. However, there's room for improvement in communication regarding parking for same-day surgery patients. Rushed individuals tend to park in the paid parking lot, causing confusion. Additionally, the post-surgery snack, limited to a vegetarian muffin and packaged fruit juice, could be enhanced for a more satisfying recovery experience. Muffins might not be the optimal choice, especially after surgery.

Monday night I fractured three bones in my ankle and was brought to Clara Maass Medical Centerā€™s ER. I was brought in on a stretcher by the EMTs and we were being sent to different locations for a specific ER. We then were finally led to the correct spot and I got placed in a room. While I was able to get X-rays quickly, at no point was I given pain medication. Two doctors came into my room to ask how my pain level was and to inform me of my fractures and I clearly stated 10 because the pain was awful and they never gave me anything. The one doctor then said I would need surgery and would have to wait to be admitted into the hospital and be given a room which would be about 1-2 hours. He never explained the surgery or why Iā€™d need it and again I was not offered pain medication. My assumption, as Iā€™ve never had surgery before, was maybe I wasnā€™t allowed any because I would be getting surgery the next day. This was all before 12am. Fast forward several hours and I was still in the ER by the next morning. I was not informed that they would need to wait for a room to be available until we asked at 2am why it had been longer than 2 hours and the RN said they have no available rooms. In addition to no pain medication and being lied to about the room situation, I was not offered breakfast and I was unaware that my surgery would not be until 5pm so at this point I had not had food for 24 hours. I finally get transferred to a room at 10am on Tuesday where my nurse Katie was incredibly helpful and I finally receive pain medication. Because my surgery was for 5pm, I still had no food in my system. Fast forward to 5pm, I start getting transferred to the OR and they get a call that my surgeon wonā€™t be there until 8:30/9pm. While my surgeon was kind when I finally met her and explained what the surgery was 10minutes before the surgery, I didnā€™t appreciate finding out so late that the time would be changing as again I was unable to eat (I didnā€™t get to eat until the following morning on Wednesday but I wasnā€™t asked what I wanted so they gave me food I couldnā€™t eat due to dietary restrictions). While I am glad that I was able to get in for a surgery quick enough for my ankle injury, these other issues would prevent me from going to this hospital again.

I'm not sure how this hospital only has 2.6 stars. I've been in and out of numerous hospitals over my 40 yeas, and Clara Maass is by far the best. I had to have a same day surgery preformed there yesterday. From the time I stepped into this hospital to the time I left, I was treated with such compassion, kindness, respect and love. The entire staff here remembers how important the bedside manner is, in that most of us are afraid when we need to be in the hospital. We even shared some good laughs, and we all know that's great for the soul and healing. God Bless all of you there at Clara Maass, thank you for all you do. Love me!!!! :)

Went there to deliver my baby Tuesday 1/19/22 delivered Wednesday 1/20/22 from the time I got in the hospital the staff was excellent very friendly and kind they made me feel so comfortable every nurse, doctor, house keeping and dietary staff I came across was so nice welcoming kind caring and friendly. They even gave me toys for my 2 other children a little toy for my baby and a going home cake. I would highly recommend this hospital for the staff alone. My only problem was the sharing the bathroom part but it was only for 3 days so I dealt with it and the food was decent to be hospital but always cold I know itā€™s because they have to deliver other meals. I love them šŸ„°šŸ„°šŸ„°šŸ„°

I used to get such good care here. BUT I went in today by ambulance I was sent to the waiting room in a wheelchair and was forgotten about. Everyone who came in after me were seen before me. I was in the waiting room for 3 hours. I never waited that long no matter how busy it was. I wound up walking out. Y'all better take better care of patients who arrive at the emergency room seruously

Iā€™m coming here just to thank the nurse Lu in floor 5 of how professional, engaged and caring person he is. He helped my mom and attended all my requests and doing all possible to have her discharged. He is a true gem and honestly he was explaining me all my momā€™s situation with clarity and knowledge. Thanks Lu!

While we have had very good experiences with most everyone at Clara Maass, particularly in the oncology department, the attention we and our family member received from Dr. John Kelly was abhorrent. Not only would he rarely ever communicate with anyone from our family, when he did, he was very short with us! All the while we saw key questions of ours go unaddressed. Our family memberā€™s primary care physician even commented that he was the only doctor in his many years of work who would not return his call. Beware if this doctor is looking after your loved one, they wonā€™t get the care you are hoping for while under his care. This low grade is specifically about one doctor, and not necessarily about Clara Maass in general.

Facilities are FANTASTIC. Very beautiful and clean, when I arrived I told myself if I ever had to go back to the ED I would come here even though itā€™s a 20 minute drive and Iā€™d pass like 3 hospitals on my way there. However, after having see the the service, that will never happen. My boyfriend was here for chest pain and difficulty breathing. His oxygen levels were dropping so much so that the machine detecting this was going off and I had to go get someone to check on him, no one bothered to come in and see what was going on. Then, he was changed to a different unit because of this, and when there blood was getting into this IV, I told about three people and they all said they would come and check, after about 10 minutes someone finally came. I understand these are troubling times, holidays and understaffing, but come on.

If your doctor send you here for surgery please decline it. I was sent here for surgery I got a incision infection immediately. Went back to this hospital they took so long to evaluate me my incision busted open. All the gowns had stains on them and the sheets. This place is unsanitary. Then I needed my dressing and underwear changed with assistance and this black nurse told me she was 63 years old and she canā€™t bend down to help me. I stayed in here for 4 days then they tried to drain my stomach the guy David Clyde was so rough I couldnā€™t continue, he poked my incision over 5 times with a long needle trying to get it in I was in extreme pain that I started to cry . Then I requested to speak to a patient advocate and this man was absolutely no help he didnā€™t even check back with me like he said after I told him what was going on . These people are getting paid to do absolutely the bare minimum which is nothing. I wanted to be discharged at this point I was in panic mode. I went to another hospital and I was treated very well and they drained my stomach immediately. Do not go here for nothing they do not have a great emergency protocol what if that infection got in my blood I wouldā€™ve been dead messing with this dirty unprofessional hospital.

I should read the reviews before taking my mom to this hospital. It is terrible no one comes to clean the garbage cans during the day. Disgusting odors. Not enough air running in the rooms. The staff doesn't care about the patient. I have been in a lot of hospitals for lots of reasons, but I have never ever seen a hospital like this . CLEEANESS -0 STAFF CARING - 0 Please go somewhere else . I went there for an emergency and my family members had to stay in the hospital. We were from NYC visiting NJ when we had the emergency.

My mom unfortunately had eye surgery at this hospital and it was an absolute nightmare!!! First when she tried to check in the front desk ladyā€™s didnā€™t know their passwords to open their computers. LIKE ARE YOUR SERIOUS. This isnā€™t even the worst part my mom was not given enough anesthesia so she was in incredible amounts of pain during her surgery and when she tried to yell for help she was given minor pain medications to make up for needles stabbing her eyes. The nurse who was suppose to monitor her talked to someone else in the OR the entire time and never noticed my mom was in pain. After the surgery they will extremely rude to me when I asked questions about the surgery and where I should pick her up. The nurses blatantly ignored my moms many requests for some water after the surgery and was no help to her overall feelings after the surgery. I am honestly considering sueing for malpractice because this hospital should not be open. The treatment of patients is laughable and I am disgusted that this place is still open. NEVER EVER GO HERE!!

i came here after attempting suicide as a minor. i had to repeat what happened to about 7-8 different doctors. to give them the benefit of the doubt i heard this is common. after all screening was done i waited for an open spot in an inpatient hospital. while waiting nurses started gossiping outside my door. not even waiting until i left. ā€œwhatā€™s she here for?ā€ ā€œsheā€™s 15, she tried hurt herselfā€ ā€œoh my god thatā€™s awfulā€ ā€œyeah i know sheā€™s so youngā€ i donā€™t remember clearly but it was followed by something along the lines of ā€œshe doesnā€™t know how good she has itā€. then stared at me while being not at all quiet, in a group of doctors and nurses. i felt like a caged animal. i understand that i needed to be watched that was okay. but to gossip. thatā€™s just ridiculous. i knew this hospital wasnā€™t great but this was just awful

Atrocious and incompetent staff. They don't even deserve the single star. Took my 3 year old son to the emergency room last night because he is RSV positive and was having some breathing issues. I think maybe 20 people walked in and out of the room each and every one saying something completely different from the previous. Atrocious. No communication, no plan of care and extremely arrogant PA on staff with ZERO sympathy (Emily) Zero clue on how to talk to and treat a toddler. The best and only thing right that they did was transfer us to St. Barnabas hospital but even the transfer they didnt get right. While my son was screaming in agony all night the pediatric transfer crew from St. Barnabas shows up and the paperwork for the transfer (Clara Mass staff incompetence) took an additional 15 minutes to complete as we all wait around and my son is terrified and in pain. I would advise anyone and everyone to stay away from this place if you want any sort of compassion or competent care. Shameful!!!! You work in the healthcare industry, do better!!

Do not go to this hospital. They don't have a clue. The nurses are absolutely awful. Completely unresponsive to patients. My mother has waited up to three hours for pain medication. They sent her home twice only to have her return a third time because they never actually found out what the issue was. The only reason this has one star is because you can't post with no stars. There is no communication between doctors. She was actually discharged and all IVs removed only to have a doctor come in and ask what was going on and when he found out she was discharged he was appalled and said absolutely not who discharged you. Unreal.

What a great hospital! We came here to have our newborn and I can honestly thank God we did. The staff here is extremely friendly really knowledgeable and I truly felt that they cared about us we werenā€™t only patients it felt more like we were very close friends. The doctors and nurses are definitely top-notch very skilled very knowledgeable and very attentive. We had medical staff check on us frequently, we had medical staff answer any questions that we had and we had a lot, and we also had overall hospital staff just checking on how our experience is going. Even the small things made a huge difference like having three-course meals throughout the day for myself and spouse and have an access to food snacks and drinks All hours of the night. Truly was happy that we chose Clara mass for this next chapter in our life and I would strongly recommend that you do the same, you wonā€™t regret it.

There is No emergency about this emergency room...the nurses are talking about the Christmas party throwing up in bags from being drunk...the halls are filled with beds of people who have been waiting for hours. I came in with my pressure extremely high and swollen legs and arms and haven't seen anyone yet I've been placed in a hallway bed next to the soiled towels and sheets. Is this what strikes and wage increases get you? Im so afraid right now. They take all this information about you just to have you sitting for hours..between the homeless, drug addiction and mental health patients waiting to be seen you will definitely be waiting for hours but your bill will surely be maximum amount.

I have never been to a hospital with a staff who clearly doesnā€™t care about their patients. I went in for a ear infection, the doctor was extremely rough, didnā€™t show any type of understanding for my pain. The nurses over 7 of them walking around talking. I called the nurse never came just pass by my room and looked at me. Waited over 45 mins for some ear drops. I could just imagine if itā€™s a serious matter you would die !!!

From check-in to being discharged, an amazing experience having same day surgery here this past Monday. The reviews may be mixed but I can speak for myself when I say the staff was attentive, efficient, and made me feel very comfortable throughout my 11 hour stay. I hope to not need another surgery, but if I did this would definitely be my go to.

Upon entering the actual ER, I was greeted by a lovely nurse to sign in. She was very helpful during the wait for myself and my young daughter. Once we had gotten called in, the staff was extremely thorough in checking everything on my daughter from head to toe. She was a little nervous because there was a chance she would need stitches but the understanding nurses knew just what to do. Iā€™ve never seen my little one giggle the way she did. They entire staff was so attentive not just to us but to all the rooms and beds around me that I could see. Thankfully, she didnā€™t need stitches and before we knew it, we were heading home. But not before the nurses gave my daughter her own tiny box of tissues and a snack. She left all smilesšŸ˜ŠšŸ‘ and for that, I am gratefulā™„ļø

I would not recommend this hospital to anyone!!!! First when arriving to the emergency room it took over an hour and a half to get seen. When going into the room to check for vitals the nurses had a very nasty attitude and weā€™re not comforting at all. We had to wait an entire day to get admitted into a room due to the lack of rooms the hospital had available. They had patients waiting in the hallways in hospital beds!! I donā€™t know any hospital that does that. When getting admitted into a room we the nurse we had during the day was very sweet and checked up on us frequently. The nurse at night I got her name it was Ariana was the complete opposite. She was rude and took hours to check up on my fiancĆ© that had a pneumonia was was in pain for hours. Then she explained that the medication he needed was not in the hospital and they had to pick it up from a pharmacy. I then told her she was super unprofessional and I requested a new nurse. However they stated there was no other nurses that could replace her because they were short staffed. I will not be returning to this hospital and I wouldnā€™t recommend anyone to go there neither. I would honestly have to recommend UMDNJ over this hospital. They should get shut down due to OSHA regulations not being followed. Disgusting and pitiful.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE. My mother just had surgery today and I had been waiting for a call back from SOMEONE, ANYONE, for an update. NO ONE calls and the same day surgery lobby closes so I move into the main lobby, waiting hours with others. I asked the nice lady at security if she can ask someone for any information, turns out my mom needed to stay OVERNIGHT and NO ONE, thought to NOTIFY ME. Prior to her going in, the nurses there told me someone would call me so I can see her after surgery. I had been waiting since 6PM and got out at 1AM. JESUS CHRIST PEOPLE GET IT TOGETHER, STOP WASTING OUR TIME.

I normally never leave reviews for hospitals, but the experience my Mom recently had at Clara Mass Medical Center was worthy of a 5+ Star review. From the moment they checked my Mom in for her high blood pressure, and moved her from the emergency room to the emergency observation room, she had angels watching over her. Their names were: Matthew, Stacey, Marie , Juanita and Cristina!! I just wanted to thank all of you for the care compassion, understanding and the quality of service that was equal to none, that you provided my Mom. God Bless all of you!! You truly made my Moms stay in Clara Mass special even under the unfortunate circumstances she came in with!!

I have had two surgery at this hospital. I Can't say anything bad about this hospital. I came to the ER in a lot of pain, just to find out I had an appendicitis. I spent the night and had surgery next day. Both surgery healed well. I love this hospital.

I gave birth there over 3 years ago and I hated every moment of it until I was transferred to the postpartum side. I told myself from that moment I would consider working at a hospital after I gave birth to make sure the patients had a wonderful experience. I filled out an application for New Brunswick and was called back by a staff member from Clara Maass. I was extremely hesitant but decided to give them a chance because I lived in the area, I donā€™t know where to start i worked there, and I loved the patients and visitors . I greeted everyone and did everything in my power to make sure everyone left. Clara Maass with a smile After being antagonistic by one of the higher ups who has been there for years, I decided to part ways after experiences a lot of unethical behaviors within the work place but the hospital ignored them because Joe has been working with the company for decades years they turned the blind eye to some things. But after returning there last night to be a support person for my daughter, all I heard was the nurse complain and talk about the patients. They were what I called nasty nice when they thought no one was in the hallways. They chatted all day and night about the doctors and the patients.

I would have given this hospital 5 stars but the nurses aides really need to be retrained and not hold the hospital hostage because of their poor work ethics! They leave people on bedpans longer than what's necessary and it's always an excuse, alibi and response why they took so long to take a senior citizen off. Okay let's get to the "5" star hero. Lois is not just for Superman. Lois can be a superhero herself even without a cape! Contacted the hospital then they forward the call to patient information. I told them what I needed and the patient information clerk when out of her way to help me achieve what was. Louis is definitely a superhero that needs to be recognized by the hospital šŸ„! She made things a bit sweeter and help reduce the many tears that me avind my family was shedding. Thank you for being our hero šŸ™!.šŸ–¤šŸ–¤šŸ–¤

Went to the Emergency room today with my husband and he had excellent patient care from the nurses, ultrasound tech, and the doctor. My nurses were so helpful and thorough. Rose, Jamie, and Joshua were very attentive even in a hectic ER. They all went above and beyond so happy to have had them treat my husband.

I have to give this place no star. The worst hospital ever. My son was there for almost two weeks. First we took him to the ER hardly did testing on him, send him back home stating what ever he had was viral; 3 or 4 days after we took him back he end up with encephalitis was in the ICU for one week. Never ever talk to a doctor. The so called head nurse Amy at the ICU front desk very disrespectful person. Ms. Amy if you are not going to have any compassion for the patient or family members you should stay home, not good as a nurse, never mind as a head nurse. Finally they moved him to the 6th floor for a couple days, send him home w out any discharge instructions, got to the pharmacy the medication was not there we had to go back to the hospital. The other one Maria social worker/ nurse lol. We asked for help with my son for home care stated not her problem. That was Monday she said she would call me back, today is Wednesday no call from ms Maria. Another one that donā€™t care, no compassion what so ever this people I think they only care to get pay from the ins. Please do not send me the automatic msg that u guys have, thatā€™s not doing anything for my son. Very very disappointed w the staff and the hospital. CEO Mary Ellen clyne you should send your employees for training, no wonder your hospital has at 1.7 rate.

Been here multiple times and have never had an issue with this hospital. The clerical staff is very professional and the medical staff (doctors/nurses) are excellent at their craft. The ER nurses in paticular are great. They're what I would call the backbone of that place and are the main reason for me leaving this 5 star rating. Not only are they very knowledgeable at what they do. They also have an uncanny way of being able to run things efficiently in such a demanding and somewhat hectic environment. I tip my cap to each one of them. They truly are heroes šŸ™‚

Awful hospital, go elsewhere. My mother sits and rings the nurses bell and no one answers. The bed alarm goes off continuously and no one ever comes to her aid. What if something was wrong? No one seems to care at this hospital. Understaffed and they are not providing an acceptable level of care. They told rehab she was being discharged this past Friday, itā€™s now Monday and she is still there for no reason. Terrible place with staff who doesnā€™t care.

My uncle died here last night and they had certain policies of only allowing 5 ppl in the room at a time , and my whole family was left to wait in the lobby while he died with only a few members off the family. The supervisor was extremely cruel , cold and had 0 empathy for my family. The room was 434B he was brought there to die in peace and we couldnā€™t grieve properly. Super sad šŸ’”

Gave birth here 5 years ago. Yes Iā€™m writing a review now because there was an AMAZING nurse named Staci that looked to be African American who was incredibly patient and kind to me. There was a different late night nurse who was a white older woman (blonde hair I think) and she was so rude, impatient and pushy she acted like I was being ridiculous for being in pain after she tried to impatiently and incorrectly insert the catheter. Then came staci who did it with patience and I wasnā€™t in any pain. She made a huge difference for me. She even saw that I was overwhelmed by visitors and asked me if I wanted her to tell them to leave. I think about Staci a lot so I had to finally leave a review. This maternity ward is decent and you get your own room which is great. The rest of this hospital is so so which is why Iā€™m leaving 3 stars.

Dianne is the rudest nurse I have met. She has no respect for customers and when you ask for a ā€œcharge nurseā€, she keeps you waiting to file a complaint. Hospital must do better when selecting people to work with patients.

Iā€™ve never been cared by hospital staff the way i was here. I just got discharged and iā€™m so grateful for all the attention received. I felt like my concerns were actually heard and we were able to find out what was wrong with me. I wasnā€™t dismissed about anything i said and i feel so much better now than i have had this whole week. All staff iā€™ve came across ( quite a few since i came in an ambulance ) were sweet, attentive, and on point. Thank you to all the staff that took care of me!! ā¤ļø

Today at the surgery intake session, there was an incredibly rude patient. She completely lied on the receptionist named Ruth to her supervisor. Ruth was professional and was completely nice to this woman during this whole outrageous situation. The patient lied saying Ruth yelled at her and was rude which was a total lie. Ruth was so nice to me and really made me feel welcomed as I was there to do my pre-surgery testing.

Some of the people in this hospital have absolutely despicable behavior and you can clearly tell most of them are there to make money and not there because they care about helping people. There are women in the ER waiting room who were aggravated by a man asking them for help because he couldn't breathe. They do not take you seriously when you come in in complete agony asking for help. Once I was finally in a room and being seen they allowed me to sit with blood and pus all over me and told me well send some one to help you clean your wound about 4 different times and I waited 45 mins when I finally dragged myself out of the bed and asked for the supplies to do it myself . when I pulled back that curtain 3 of the nurses or PAs were sitting on there phones laughing and having a good time and then they finally put on gloves to help me. I have about 25 more things to say about the atrocious behavior and lack of bedside manor that goes on in this hospital. DONT GO HERE !!

I had eye surgery and very impressed with the efficiency of the Hospital and PreOp Same day surgical staff. Very respectfull. Care was constant and consistent. The surgery was 3 hours, I won't be able to tell you how well it works, could take 3 months to regain my vision. I can tell that I can see light, whereas it was black before.

My experience in the ER was nothing short of a nightmare!!! I sat in the waiting room for almost an hour waiting to be triaged all while having difficulty breathing, chest pain and a splitting headache. They discharged me with a blood pressure reading of 215/132, never ran any labs but prescribed a low dose high blood pressure medication then told me to follow up with my doctor! The ER doctor constantly minimized my symptoms and ignored concerns. After I left, I still felt terrible and had to go back to the ER the next day but chose a different hospital and received MUCH better care. If you have a true medical emergency and need to be local, DO NOT GO HERE!!! You're better off going to an urgent care or Mountainside Hospital.

Everything went wrong in that hospital the day I had total shoulder replacement. From drawing blood to having the prescription filled out incorrectly the whole experience was unbelievably unprofessional for a hospital. The nurses must be underpaid because too many of them don't know what they are doing.

This hospital is amazing, itā€™s clean very very organized. The staff from house keeping to the food delivery people, the nurses and nurse aids were wonderful. So kind and friendly ***Edit** I was still in the hospital when I wrote the review above. I just want to add that I was here for major surgery. I was in the hospital for 3 days.I was in bed 395A I canā€™t remember every nurse or aideā€¦Thank you from the bottom of my heartā€¦you are all angels. A special thank you to my OR nurses Ray & I canā€™t remember the nice young female nurse with dark hair they made me feel at ease. Prep nurse Nell I think that was her name, very nice. I wish I could remember everyoneā€™s name. Thank you again!

The Same day surgery department was amazing. I arrived and was greeted immediately. Everyone from registration to recovery had a pleasant demeanor. They answered all my questions, and was there for every step of my journey. I would definitely recommend the same day surgery department to anyone.

This hospital is horrible! The nurses and techs in the front ED and observation area DO NOT CARE! Nurse Hassan, provider Parker PA Rose and Games MD Jonathan are disrespectful, do not listen and do not care. We went to another hospital- guess whatā€¦the doctors, nurses and techs were informative, respectful, caring and resolved the matter.

This was the worst ER experience Iā€™ve had. As a healthcare worker the way this place is ran is ridiculous. From being pulled from the ER waiting area multiple times & waiting 2 hours for a bed was absurd. I came in because my girlfriend was experiencing chest pain and tachycardia. Nobody pays attention to people in the waiting area god forbid something were to happen. Waiting 2 hours for something heart related is not okay. Her heart rate was almost 140 resting. When we eventually got a bed we waited another hour to receive blood work. Then ANOTHER hour for a ā€œchest X-rayā€ that never happened. The employee doing portables never stopped for her.. but did a portable chest Xray right next door. ED X-rays for chest pain should NEVER take this long. As a tech it takes 5 mins & nobody from X-ray came to check on her or introduce themselves. We never seen a doctor at all.. but I will say the PA Michelle & our nurse was very pleasant. I understand the issue of being understaffed, but if a hospital is this bad then it shouldnā€™t exist. Maybe their budget needs to increase & hire travel people to help out. As a healthcare worker for multiple facilities coming here was a huge mistake. To be stuck in an ER for 5 hours to find out someone just has the flu is horrible. You would think they would get people in and out for a better turn over time.. but it seemed as if they werenā€™t in any rush to discharge anyone. I was here on Dec 1st from about 7pm-12am

Do not do not go to this hospital. Treat people differently and the emergency front desk people are very unprofessional. My dad was on the 5th floor room 514B those nurses are horrible. Sending the patient home without medication and wants us to call the primary doctor for it, medicine he has to take 3 times a day, and even told them Sunday his primary doctor was off. Except few most of the workers and nurses have a bad attitude even if you call you have to wait 30/40 minutes to get in touch with the nurses. Took my dad to a university hospital and others in Montclair never experienced anything like this.
