Cafe Coffee shop

👍👍 What a great find! While early for an appointment in the city, I needed to burn time, so I set out to find a place to grab a coffee. I'll admit I was anticipating stumbling upon some generic coffee chain but was pleasantly surprised when on the way back I found LuLu. Adorable little space with limi... Cute and tiny coffee shop that the barista claims is the only one in the USA that makes “sand coffee”. Basically Turkish coffee made in a traditional ibrik on heated sand. Lol Kind of a schtick but whatever. It was good but $5 is a bit steep for a tiny cup.

This place was the coffee shop I didnt know I needed. Friendly, warm and amazing coffee. I had never seen authentic Turkish coffee but what a nice touch. A nice escape from the hustle and bustle, would visit if you're a local but especially if you're a tourist. Good way to talk to a local and get pointed in the right direction. Thanks for the coffee and conversation

I'll admit I was anticipating stumbling upon some generic coffee chain but was pleasantly surprised when on the way back I found LuLu. Adorable little space with limited seating but the cafe' mocha I got was amazing. Rich and flavorful with plenty of silky foam on top. They have other prepared foods as well which I'll try on my next appointment. I'll be making this a regular stop. Thanks!

Unique fantastic experience featuring Turkish culture. Small coffee shop offering an intimate and friendly time with the owner, who provides educational information about the history and preparation. Enjoy a small cup (a little amount goes a long way) alongside a slice of baklava, and a complimentary Turkish delight to end.

This is my first time trying Turkish sand coffee. It's pretty cool how they use sand to heat up the coffee. I don't know that You can't add milk in sand coffee, so I was bit worry I won't like the drink. I'm more like a latte person. And always add milk in my coffee. So he recommend to add sugar for my first time. I'm very surprise that the coffee is really smooth and not bitter at all. He also offer a small piece of Turkish delight on the side. Perfect match! I would come back and try without sugar next time. Btw the barista said he got his sand from Turkey haha!! Fancy sand!

We walked by this cute coffee shop during lunch and after researching it, we decided to stop by. It was a very pleasant surprise. They have something very original. They make Turkish coffee using the sand method. It was fun to watch. Barista was knowledgeable and friendly. I liked the cute tray it served on. Coffee was excellent and came with Turkish chocolate. We liked the chocolate a lot!! Overall it was great experience and I am looking forward to my next visit.

Tl;dr Don’t come here if you need a coffee on the go. The barista was taking sweet time making three Turkish coffee. I literally waited 10 mins and didn’t get to order. I left because I didn’t want to waste anymore of my time. The place is so small - 4 seats max. If you’re gonna have a business selling fancy, time-consuming coffee, you need more space for people to hang out and wait. I just don’t understand how this place can get enough turnaround to survive in midtown. The business model just doesn’t make sense.

The coffee was very good, one of the best I’ve had, rich and creamy. Reasonable prices for NYC. And the service was excellent, the man working there was very friendly. The atmosphere of the tiny coffee shop was also nice and cozy, not much room to sit down or stand though.

I found this fantastically cozy place and I definitely suggest everyone to check it out. Their Turkish coffee is yumm and the presentation is great. The place is clean, bright and friendly. I wish Manhattan had more places like this.
