👍👍 After lunch, I often like to have a coffee or espresso. Instead of getting an espresso at the restaurant we were at, I asked my fiancé if we could go to an Italian bakery. After lunch, I often like to have a coffee or espresso. Instead of getting an espresso at the restaurant we were at, I asked my fiancé if we could go to an Italian bakery. I know that Italian bakeries tend to have good coffee. We went down a few blocks and ended up at Leonelli. I had no idea it was ran by Michelin star Chef Jonathan Benno. We got several pastries and each got the oat latte on draft. The pastries were superb. Very authentic. They were out of cannoli in the display and the pastry chef filled a cannolo just for me. She was so super sweet and was pretty convinced she had baked a bunch already so she searched for them. I cannot describe how much I loved the oat latte on draft. I asked for it slightly sweet and with light ice. The barista who recommended said it already came with light ice. He was so sweet, patient, and helpful. I love oat milk in my coffee as is, but this oat latte on draft was light, creamy, and silky smooth. It was out of this world just like everything else. Had we not been on our way to airport, I would have eaten at Jonathan Benno’s restaurant too.

There are better and much cheaper breakfasts in places close to that hotel, I really don't recommend it very much, the food itself was not bad, but it seemed very expensive for the portions they provided me, when I know that there is a large variety of cafes and Restaurants around with better prices serve better portions.

Just what I needed when I needed it. Espresso first thing every morning while I stayed at The Evelyn and lovely Italian pastries as well. Cool space upstairs to sip your brew and read a book. The outdoor street seating, covered with walls on 3 sides, was a strangely peaceful place to eat, even when it rained.

I made a Restaurant Week order from them. The plastic container in which the food came had a burned hole. Not only that meant food leaked out, but also means a lot of plastic was burning while in contact with the food. I really want to support businesses in these hard times, but this was quite worrisome. I hope they are able to address this. The food itself was actually very good. I emailed them about this and they said their container was secure and the container was not in contact with the food. When I replied attaching photos showing how the hole went all the way through the plastic I didn't get a response back.

An elegant, classic space with delicious pastries, friendly service, a secret library, cannoli filled to order, and great coffee? Sounds impossibly impossible. My only complaint: I wish it was open later. Best rainbow “cookies” in NYC.

Pleasantly surprised by this small cafe! I went looking for a tiramisu but ended up loving the small mezzanine that had a cozy atmosphere. I especially loved how there were so many food books that were available for reading. Tiramisu and the cookies were delicious as well.

Good coffee and sandwiches. Excellent service. If you are staying at the Evelyn a breakfast voucher is included, see one of the photos uploaded to see what's included in the menu.

I had to talk 3 or 4 times because of the low-pitched staff, but the croissants and coffee were delicious.

Update: it seems like they’re closed. Best dessert I’ve ever had in the US; nothing is overwhelming and not too sweet. Pretty good espresso too.

Stop but for a mocha and a well made pastry which reminds you of an authentic Italian caffettiera! The library upstairs is cute and cozy.

I have two words: the draft. Just try it. Sam, Blake, Nick and Nate hold it down like no other. No matter how early or late someone comes in and no matter what request, they make everyone feel welcome.

Loved it! I got the Sicilian focaccia which was very flavorful and reasonably priced. Also got some cookies which were all very classic. They also have made to order canoli, which I didn't order this go around but will come back for. Additionally, even though they have display sandwiches, I think they put those together to order as well. There is seating upstairs which when I went was surprisingly empty. The staff is also super nice.

I ordered catering from Leonelli Focacceria e Pasticceria for the first time and it was AMAZING, far exceeded expectations based on other caterers in the area. They have the best pizza in Murray Hill, delicious sandwiches, and amazing Italian pastries, everybody in the office was impressed. Will definitely be ordering from them again. Thank you Leonelli!

The Focacaccia is out of this world. The bakery is so clean! I love their cookies, pies, lasagna, etc. I love all of it!
