THE bookstore in NYC, IMO. You can lose yourself in here for a long, long time. The selection is both current and esoteric. They have well-chosen selection for so many topics - art, film, lit, fiction, kids. Also there's a wonderful double rack of hard to find periodicals. ( I could spend an hour at that, easily). I guarantee you will find something that will surprise and delight in this bookstore! Prices are fine. They also have a big sale selection downstairs and in kiosks out front. There's a little coffee shop / cafe in one corner of the store. Perfect spot to get out of the crush of Soho. Small bites and coffees. Staff in this store is super helpful and very nice.

Beautifully layed out bookshop. Friendly staff. There are plenty of fabulous books to choose from. Two level of books but they also sell various things. Look up when you’re there to admire the hanging books. Check this place out when you are in the Soho area!

I’ve always loved this bookstore despite the not terribly friendly booksellers. I’ve bought hundreds of books here and have introduced the store to family members and friends. The other day a store manager chastened me for browsing a book for too long. The aftermath was obviously not her fault: I stood up quickly, mortified; foot was asleep/ankle buckled/sprained my ankle. Bad luck but honestly, more upset by the interaction than the sprain and now wonder more than ever why the management is so persistently unfriendly.

Nice selection and kind service people! Fun staircase area. There's a wonderful selection of planners and journals, pens, some dystopian post cards, and thank you notes. The latest publications are easy to find. I couldn't find bookmarks though.

Came with the 2-year-old for weekly reading sessions, still coming with the 12-year-old almost weekly to complement his library. And great selection for adults, too!

3/5: Decent bookstore. Tight corners in a rather cramped space, but it does give off an intimate feeling. Books are priced at MSRP or very close, so not much in the way of bargains. Just a couple things I didn’t like. - Customers sit on the steps and I didn’t see any staff say anything. - Staff aren’t the kindest - No bathroom A servicable bookstore but I’d prefer others in the city.

Been meaning to visit this bookstore for some time. It was worth the wait. They have an amazing selection. I was happy to see they even had a nice couple of shelves of novels and poetry in Spanish downstairs. Also, can’t go wrong with a a four legged staff member helping out! 🐶

Perhaps I am speaking soon too soon but, I think I found my favourite bookstore in New York. So many variety of books and stacks upon stacks of books shelves with reader’s favourites and hidden gems. It wasn’t too busy, a nice hideaway from the bustle of nyc, so I had a lot of room to amble around and had a wonderful time browsing the books.

Situated in SoHo, McNally is a paradise for book aficionados. Its extensive collection and inviting atmosphere make it an ideal place to explore new literary treasures. With well-informed staff and frequent events, McNally stands out as a must-visit destination for those passionate about books.

A wonderful bookstore those who still like holding and reading a book. Just an expansive selection of good books ... The new location ( further west on Prince.). Is smaller but still a good place to just browse through section after section of books .. and hopefully buying 1 or ....more

I love the new location, the vibe, and the collection they carry. The magazine section could be a bit more extensive but I got no complaints.

beautiful aesthetic, and there is even a cafe inside! most of the stationary is on the first floor, but the basement is where they keep all the good stuff. sci-fi (my personal favorite), political nonfiction, horror, LGBTQ, race theory, graphic novels, poetry, thriller, the list goes on and on. you name it, they’ve got it.

A very beautiful bookstore with a lot of great books, the surrounding area in SoHo is also very very pretty and the buildings are just gorgeous. The bookstore also sells stationary. The people are also very sweet and friendly :)

This bookstore is like an amazing hidden secret of a place. It's 2 floors, with a coffeeshop in it, and a lot of character. I can usually find something interesting whenever I stop by because they have a really good selection of books curated in the table islands

One of my favorite bookstores in the area! They have some of the most unique books and even zines/local publications. They also have really helpful recommendations and friendly faces to help you find the right book.

This is by far my favorite book store in NYC. There’s SO much thought put into the layout of the store. There are so many highlighted books from staff recommendations. They also do a really good job of highlighting different genres (new in metaphysics?? Incredible) to try and get people out of their reading comfort zone. They have a pretty big bargain section which is great and a very nice card and journal section in addition to their amazing book selection!

My favorite bookstore! I've been coming here for five years. They always have unique and hard to find books... but not just any frivolous story. Each rare book is a hidden gem with quality writing. I am always impressed every time I set foot in here. Oh, and the book events attract some amazing talent and moderators!

Great little bookshop with a fine range covering NYC local and national USA, Middle Eastern and European fiction, and hobbies. And in this heat, pretty good aircon too! Worth a visit and highly recommended.
