Wonderful! One of nicest parks on the East Side with views of Roosevelt Island, with many families and pets enjoying the amenities. Nice walks, relaxing and many benches or amazing views. Love this park. It's a nature escape daily or weekend of favorite walking spot….

Safest park in all NYC since the mayor's heavily armed security is within a whisper of the place, so you'll never be treated like those mere mortals out in Brownsville. Nice greenery and installations, with pretty vistas to Roosevelt Island.

This is a gem of a park, large enough not to feel crowded but small enough to feel neighborly and intimate. Depending on the season, the greenery is lush, wonderfully complemented by the hardscape. You can also view the East River on the esplanade just beside the park.

Nice little park with a walk along the water and connecting to the NY Ferry. Right next to Gracie Mansion. Good views of Brooklyn, Long Island City and Northern end of Roosevelt Island

I feel truly lucky to live near this very special place. The view of the city, the smell of the water + the well maintained yet wild gardens, are completely intoxicating. There's a sense of community here too. A great place to read a book, walk a dog, play a game.

It is a good playground. There are few frames with different challenges. It is still good for my 6 years and 3 years old loves it. We came during spring so the sprinklers were off. It is lovely during summer too. There are few bathrooms and a lot of place to seat. It is nice to be by the river.

Lovely park overlooking the East River. The park includes Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the mayor of New York City. Today's look of the park stems from the 1930s, when the park was redesigned under Robert Moses (1888-1981) in connection with the construction of FDR Drive. From the promenade there are fabulous views of the East River, Astoria, Roosevelt Island, and Triboro Bridge.

Beyond beautiful, I love this park, it’s great for kids, dogs, and much more. I came here with a 4 and 6 year old and they loved the children’s park. I bring my dogs here and they love the “big dog park” and “little dog park” it’s great for picnics, and I highly recommend! Sometimes it’s crowded on sundays + Saturdays but on weekdays it’s perfect!

I can not get enough of New York parks!! Plenty of sitting areas to rest and every step you take there's something else to look at... I well have to come back again with a full battery for more photos. The park was well kept. You can tell the people here care for this spot.

One of the best places in New York, whenever I go there, I feel like being in my own heaven garden. I have taken so many photos there, especially of flowers (over 100 different types), already fit for an entire book. The planned renovation of the park would be great. However, there is a serious problem in the park with pigeons, nothing against them, they are also God's creatures...nice to see them if in quantities corresponding to their natural scavenging but currently their long term massive human feeding (mainly same person coming each morning with a huge carriage loaded by pounds of bird feed) resulted in an alarming overpopulation. Try to pass the prime walking park area approx. 7 am and you will see real scary Hitchcock scenes. Each pigeon releases from the air or on the ground two pounds of droppings per year full of deadly bacterias that can cause serious lung problems in adults, children and pets (dogs). NYC should clearly define what the public space is and how people should behave in it, accompanied with severe fines and/or evictions from the park for those who recklessly endanger the lives of thousands of other park visitors.

Very pretty at night. Relatively well lit. Doesn’t really connect to anything specifically, but it’s a nice open space with plenty of benches and a small dog park.

This park is so wonderful. So many spaces to soak up energy. Basketball courts, playground, dog parks, run path, space on the grass to layout, and benches that overlook the water. They keep it clean and well grown!

Make sure to come Spring and Fall when the foliage changes are at their peak (often just a week!). The orchard at the street entrance is absolutely stunning in mid-April, I could’ve sworn I was in Japan with all the pink blossoms! Excited for the fall reds and yellows this year.

This picturesque park, partially hidden along the East River, is one of the city's best-concealed secrets. A stroll along the promenade provides beautiful views of the river, the Roosevelt Island Lighthouse, the Triborough Bridge, Randall’s and Wards islands, and, of course, Gracie Mansion, the 18th century mansion that serves as the Mayor's official residence.

Clean and well kept park with lots of space for dogs to run and play. Separate enclosures for large and small dogs as well as pet free areas. Good recreation facilities for kids and adults too with basketball courts as well as short tennis etc. A pleasant walk along the river taking in great views and easy access to the ferry.

A small but beautiful park. The place looks heavenly after a heavy snowfall. My only concern is people with pets that do not have them on leash, it's scary when someones pet tries to jump you.

So beautiful in the spring! Nicely landscaped multi use park-playgrounds, dog park most importantly, a lovely promenade along the east river. Benches for resting , reading and quiet meditation.

It’s an Upper East Side park. So it’s comparatively clean and safe, although not entirely so. I have a big dog and they have a fenced-in big dog run. I take my dog there several times a week. The community of other dog owners is very compatible with my temperament and, for the most part, the dogs are well behaved, well socialized, and play well together.

Carl Schurz Park is a nice neighborhood Park on the Upper East Side. The flowers are in bloom and it’s rather picturesque this time of year. Hidden along the East River you can find it off of 86th and York. Lots of walkways with views of the river and if you walk up to 88thst you can get a nice view of Gracie Mansion. The new mayor took down the fences so there’s a clear view of the historic mansion that’s home to the NYC Mayor. Dog owners and their furry pets love the park as it houses 2 nice sized dog runs. Plenty of park benches, so grab a coffee or an ice cream and enjoy the people watching.
