Every dish was finger-licking good. I grabbed seats at the bar for a date where we shared the Korean Fried Chicken, the special of the night, and the Chicken Katsu Club. Everything was brimming with flavor and cooked to perfection. We had a front row seat to the kitchen, which only made us more intrigued to come back and try some of their breakfast options.

I think this is the longest I've ever waited for a table at a restaurant and there's not much to do around the area but to be honest it was still worth it. Loved the food was very impressed by it. I wish the stuff had told us not to order so much food cuz we were starving. Obviously from having waited two and a bit hours but it was great and it was nice to walk around the area as well while we waited and see Chinatown. I would highly recommend going here. It's definitely worth it

Golden Diner brunch food was absolutely delicious!! We visited at 10:30 AM on a Sunday and waited for 30 minutes to get seated at the bar. We ordered the famous pancakes and added the berry compote. I was worried they would be too sweet when I saw they came with syrup and we asked the waitress if we could modify the pancakes and go light on the syrup and she advised us to keep them as is because most diners actually want more syrup so we kept as is. I’m so glad we listened to her recommendation, I don’t like overly sweet food and this was the perfect amount of sweetness. The pancakes left me speechless- 10/10!! We also ordered the soft scramble and the wings. Definitely recommend both! I can’t wait to come back here and try other items off the menu!

The place is cute, intimate and quite old school, service totally fine and food came out good and fast. The chicken katsu sandwich was really tasty, love the different textures and sauce. The burger was also good, cocktails nothing special. I will say though that this restaurant is really unnecessarily expensive. After taxes and tip, we ended up paying 100 bucks for literally 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks. They also charge you an extra $6-7 for French fries, which is an insult considering that they should absolutely be included with the sandwiches, especially if said items already go for over 20 bucks. Overall pleasant brunch, but at that price you can definitely find better places, in Manhattan as well as other boroughs.

The food here was amazing, the club sandwich was delicious with a different combination than you’d expect. The Tuna melt was amazing and felt like something you’d make at home with chips in it but even better. And the reason this place is famous of course are the fluffiest pancakes ever with that delicious honey butter that it comes with that makes them just soft enough for that perfect bite. But also, you may experience a wait so be ready for that. Still would highly recommend!

Visited this restaurant on a summer’s day, the service was welcoming and friendly at first, it got a slow for us as our waited clocked out and we needed to flag down another waiter to complete our process. We ordered the cheeseburger and the Tuna melt! The tuna melt gets an 8/10 (not a fan of the salt and vinegar chips in the sandwich), and the cheeseburger gets a 10/10 from me. The coffee was also simple as expected, and the Mexican coke was tasty. The fries get a 7.5/10 from us. Would recommend to a friend, can’t wait to return to try the cocktails and more food.

I recently visited a restaurant that truly lives up to the hype. The honey butter pancakes were insanely good, and the Korean fried chicken wings were perfectly fried and incredibly juicy. I'm in love with this place and can't wait to try more items off the menu

I had an amazing late night dinner at Golden Dinner last Saturday!! We were fortunate enough to get a last minute seat at the bar. The staff was so kind, accommodating, and friendly!! Of course, we ordered the famous pancakes with compote. They were AMAZING!! So delicious and sweet, you must try them, they are the best I have ever had!! We split them, and it was the perfect size for two people. We also got a delicious sandwich to go! I highly recommend Golden Diner for an amazing meal...if you go, you must try the pancakes!

Food 4.9/5. Service 5/5. Atmosphere 4.7/5. The honey butter pancakes were AMAZING. So fluffy and soft and delicious. The buttery sauce is so smooth with a hint of lemon zest. The wings are pretty good too. So crunchy on the outside and tender soft inside. My only complaint would be for the wings would be it should have a little more spice to it. The diner is small but is clean and smell amazing. The outside seating is pretty cool and very warm. Highly recommend this place for anyone local and definitely anyone visiting. The prices are pretty good for the food you get. Will definitely be a place I come to for every visit.

We had an amazing time at Golden Diner. Everything, from the outstanding service to the delicious food and the lively atmosphere (they had just finished a private party when we arrived), was fantastic. We tried the wings, which were flavorful, and the burger, especially noteworthy for its delicious pickles. Personally, I favored their fries over the home fries. And to top it off, their pistachio dessert was also a delight.

made a reservation but was still seated outside.. it was just too hot (sun was on my back) even with the heater off. fries are good but for +$6 with a burger/sandwich already is pretty absurd. the pancakes are definitely a must try if you love cakey/thicker pancakes. i did enjoy my chinatown egg sando. the milk bun was excellent and i liked the hash brown inside. but again, if i wanted to add a protein it costed more. so basically over $10 MORE dollars if you want protein and fries with your sandwich. lol

What an interesting concept and combination of flavors. Asian inspired diner food. Food was tasty. The French toast was unfortunately sold out so I ended up getting the chicken katsu which was tasty. Service was great. Prices very reasonable. Wait can vary depending on the time you get there. Both indoor and outdoor seating available.

Oh man, Golden Diner blew me away -- I usually am pretty iffy on burgers at non-burger focused places, but this one was incredible! The mushroom gochujang sauce was an explosion of flavor and really tied the whole burger together. The chicken katsu club sandwich was also really good and a surprisingly large portion, and the pancakes were also incredibly delicious. Only downside was that it was right under the bridge, so the outside seating is quite noisy.

Waited in line to put name on list. Table wait from that point about a hour so went to get coffee and walk to piers til ready Sat down and knew we were getting pancakes and wings as that's the reason we went Wings were very good, wish the spice was a little higher but that's personal preference Pancakes with berry compote on top were outstanding. There is reason they are known for these pancakes All the other good at tables around us looked very good as well

This is one of the best findings in NYC for breakfast and beyond. I'm so glad to have come and experienced the evolution of diner breakfast, which seems to be disappearing trend. If you haven't had their food yet, get here!

Best restaurant I have eaten on my trip to NYC! Highly recommend. I made reservations at 12pm on a Thursday and it wasn't busy yet. By the time we left the place was packed! Can't wait to come back! Everything was so good and I cannot pick my favorite!

BEST PANCAKES IN NYC! Hands down this place blew my mind with pancakes. It's so fluffy and moist almost like a cake. The Honey butter syrup made it super flavorful! I will come back here if I'm craving pancakes. The katsu club sandwich was also super good! Definitely a must try! The red cabbage made it so delicious

This place is soooo good!! Got the wings, tuna melt, and pancakes. Pancakes were some of the best I’ve ever had and the wings and melt were really good too! Can’t go wrong with food options. Don’t go during a popular brunch time or you’ll be waiting 1hr+, during an off time there doesn’t tend to be a wait.

We spent weeks thinking about those honey butter pancakes before finally making the trek to Golden Diner and they did not disappoint! So big and fluffy, but very dense, so I was a little too full too quickly and took most of my dish home with me. I should have gotten an egg dish and ordered the pancakes to split with my boyfriend. The place itself is small—only 8 tables and counter seating—but also has an outdoor shed. Expect to wait in line if you get there after opening time on the weekend.

The vibe is on point. It’s everything you expected from a diner. The highlight of the night was the wings. The sauce was perfect and they were crunchy. A must try. The burger was cooked perfectly and was tasty. A secret star is the home fries, for sure. The chicken club was ok, don’t know if it’s a must. Overall, a great place and I’m glad I went! The appetizers came out quickly but our mains took a while. Maybe a little understaffed? But worth a try if you’re in the area. Definitely recommend a reservation so you don’t have to wait!

I came for brunch on a Saturday and the wait shockingly wasn’t that bad for two seats at the counter, about 30 min. It was pretty hot behind the griddle fyi. We ordered the pancakes with blueberry compote and chicken Katsu club to share and they were both delicious. Definitely try the home fries instead of regular fries! And I’m seriously dreaming of those pancakes, coming from a waffle person….

I’ll start by adding a detail I didn’t see in other reviews. We. Arrived on Saturday at 10:45 and there was no waiting. It was easy to get a seat for four. When we left around noon there was a wait but it didn’t seem bad. The food here is very tasty, in a way it’s simple ordinary diner food but in actuality, the classic diner staples at Golden Diner are updated and unexpected with Korean Asian twist to them. The bottom line is that this is probably the best diner food you’ll ever have. Highly recommend

Check my history because I'm in the top ten percent of reviewers and I don't give out many perfect scores. Buddy. When I tell you that this restaurant is perfect, it is no understatement. Their burger alone had depth of flavor in every element and is good enough to come back every weekend. The balance of their pancakes in both texture and flavor will have you coming back every morning so your brain gets the dopamine it needs to start the day. It's unfair how perfect every dish was because now I can't eat at cracker barrel or IHOP ever again. Golden Diner sets the standard. They are the bar.

So delicious. I tried coming last week but the wait time was too long. This time, I arrived at 1 and had to wait to be seated again which was around 1:40. The host lady was extremely friendly though, as well as our waitress. Unfortunately they don’t take reservations for brunch which sucks but the food was WORTH THE WAIT! Someone really recommended their cheeseburger which was what I got. Definitely pricey… $18 for a burger??! And plus the fries it was around $22 I think. It was very juicy, cooked perfect medium rare and the vegetables were fresh. But $22 is crazy LOL. The fries was too salty for my liking. My boyfriend ordered their breakfast burrito and he liked it but wasn’t crazy over it. Their green tea coffee cake was so good tho. Cake was perfectly soft and the top was enjoyably crumbly! Don’t know if I’ll be coming again because of the prices and wait but we had a great time :)

We had a delicious breakfast at Golden Diner this week! We had a 10am reservation (they open at 10) and had to wait in line for about ten minutes to get seated. Definitely would recommend a reservation to have a guaranteed seat! We ordered the honey butter pancakes with berry compote and the Korean fried chicken wings— the pancakes were so fluffy and the toppings were so yummy! The wings were super crispy and the sauce was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice. Our only criticism is some of the prices seem a bit high— we were going to order a side of fries but felt like $9 for fries was a bit steep. Would definitely return!

I sat at the bar of this small diner and ordered a drink and their prized cheeseburger. The burger was really good. The meat was cooked well and their mushroom sauce gave it a great, nuanced flavor. The buns held the meat together well. It was a tad expensive, but I'm glad I checked it out.

One of our favorite places to eat, and easily one of the best burgers in NYC. You have to try the pancakes. I don’t have as big of a sweet tooth so I left off the compote, but if you’re looking for a sweet treat, that’s your prerogative 😉

Friendly staff even though there is usually a wait; but definitely worth it. Their breakfast sando is one of the only egg dishes anywhere I’ll eat. And the match coffee cake is perfectly mild in terms of sweetness but still flavourful. Pancakes are an indulgence, but if you’re a fan, you’ll love them.

Golden diner I will be back. The pancakes tasted like a fluffy cake, the hit of the lemon zest with the honey butter was everything. The Korean fried chicken was so crunchy. The coffee was really good as well. The service was great I will be back!!

It’s rare for a restaurant that plastered every where on TikTok lives up to the hype, but Golden Diner definitely does. You’ve obviously heard about the pancakes and the chicken club but the whole menu is thoughtful and faithful to diner food while having meaningful creative touches. The Chili Crisp Wedge Salad was honestly one of the best salads we’ve had in a long time. Putting a grilled cheese with a tomato kimchi jiggae also really smart. The Thai Tea Tres Leches was stunningly good. Make sure you’ve been dieting for a week before coming because the portions are huge and it’s a lot of carbs. But for a cheat meal this is well worth it.

Absolutely Golden! Thought it was a good idea to try Asian mixed American diner and it didn’t disappoint. I had the Katsu sandwich and it didn’t disappoint. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

loved the pancakes! can see why they’re signature. very melt in your mouth with the amazing lemon syrup and hot melted butter. would love to try them again. the gochujang wings had a nice crispy cornstarch exterior that i loved. appreciated the lamps for the outdoor seating.

Came for the pancakes, egg sando and katsu and none disappointed. Was very surprised by how nice the yuzu palmer cocktail was. The outdoor seating is very warm and tasteful as it gets.

THE BEST PANCAKES I EVER HAD! Try making a reservation because the wait is RIGOROUS, but so worth it! The wings were crunchy well after the fact. Will DEFINITELY be returning. Please enjoy and treat yourself.

Food was delicious! Honey butter pancakes were to die for, however, too much buttery sauce (plus they add more butter on top?) and the jam was extra $ but it tasted amazing with the jam. The Katsu sandwich was to die for (fries are extra $) My friend tipped in cash so when she pressed no tip on the machine the sever had attitude.

Great spot for Sunday brunch. They told me it’d be an hour and a half wait, but I ended up having a seat available in under a half an hour. Friendly servers, fast service, welcoming atmosphere and classic hip hop music for a Sunday brunch. I came for the egg & cheese sando which was pretty good, but didn’t live up to its price (in my humble opinion) the berry pancakes were absolutely perfect though! I’d have to put it in y top 3 list of pancakes in nyc.

  • 4/5 Yuan H. 7 months ago on Google
I was so pleasantly surprised at what we ordered and how delicious it was! I’m not a big diner person in generally but the Katsu club was mindblowingly good. I don’t like chicken and I never volunteer to eat a sandwich but I ate this one fresh the day of I was at the restaurant excitedly and it was SO good even the morning after as take away. I also got the Korean fried chicken wings which were good in flavor and texture on the outside, but could be improved in terms of tenderness and flavor on the inside.

  • 5/5 Angie G. 7 months ago on Google
Best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life. The crispiness on the Korean fried chicken wings were unlike anything I’ve experienced before. I wish they made snacking chips out of the batter they fried it in. Definitely coming back to try that egg & hash brown sandwich!

  • 5/5 Alexis S. 7 months ago on Google
Cannot recommend this place enough! I have gone here twice and every time ordered something new — the chicken katsu club is amazing, the breakfast burrito is the best I’ve had, the tuna melt has potato chips for that extra crunch, and the pancakes are absolutely insane (my favorite thing on the menu). I love this place.

  • 5/5 A Z. 1 year ago on Google
This place is an absolute gem. I would recommend sitting at the counter if you can. There’s no better treat than watching them cook. Everything is fresh and despite them being completely packed, everything comes out at a steady pace. Pancakes are a must. We shared them as a little side treat and let me tell you *no*regrets*. Staff is friendly and super attentive. Would absolutely recommend.

The service was great and the food came out quick! I got the breakfast burrito with bacon and it was really good, super flavorful. My partner got the breakfast sandwich with sausage and they said that even though it looked small it was very filling. I was able to try a little bit of the sausage and it was super tasty. We also shared and order of fries which was probably some of the best fries that we’ve ever had, they were super crispy and still soft on the inside. 10/10 would recommend stopping by this place for a quick breakfast or brunch!

  • 5/5 Andrew T. 1 year ago on Google
Me and my wife both had the chicken katsu club. Delicious flavors. Chicken was so crisp. The sauce is special and while it looks like a lot of cabbage, it's really just right. Special pickle too. Great service. Also had the Yuzu Palmer which was a wonderful drink.

  • 5/5 Violet C. 1 year ago on Google
We really enjoyed this restaurant in Chinatown, the atmosphere at the diner was chill and the staff was very nice. I had the chicken katsu club and it was delicious, the cabbage is a nice touch and the fries were super crispy. My partner had the honey maple pancakes with a side of sausage and he said they were the best pancakes he’s ever had. They were fluffy, soft, juicy and yet somehow had a light crisp to them. Very impressed, great place to meet friends for brunch!

Looking for a brunch spot and this place came up. They do not take reservations. The diner was busy and the cooks were on top of it. Decided to order some drinks. Golden punch and screwdriver. Both of the drinks were delicious. The diner have few vegetarian options. We went with breakfast burrito. It was delicious as well. Lastly ordered some homemade granola & yogurt. You can tell they are professional when your plate is chilled. That granola was top. Paring with yogurt was delicious. We would definitely visit again.
