The staff was friendly. The location was great. The rooms are typical for Manhattan. But the service was horrible. I understand there are labor shortages and supply chain issues. But I have stayed in hotels throughout the pandemic and several times per month. This stay was my worst hotel experience in several years. It took hours to get my luggage. I had to make repeated texts, calls, and walking to the front desk for assistance. Housekeeping was no better. I had a room with two beds and only two towels. I also wanted an extra blanket. It took three attempts to get housekeeping’s assistance. The elevators are not programmed efficiently. They stop all the time on the way down even though the lift is entirely full. The front desk said they don’t have free water for diamond members because of supply chain issues but I can purchase water. What!?!? You are not out of water, but you won’t give it away. Lastly, there was a party on the roof and all we could hear was this bass thumping until 2am! Not a good experience and I am very disappointed in Hilton.

The location is great. It’s within walking distance to Times Square, Penn Station, Subway Station, and good food. The staff wasn’t as friendly or helpful they could have been. They were booked to capacity and only 2 elevators were working so at one point, it took about 15 minutes to catch an elevator that wasn’t packed (which was concerning, considering we are in a Pandemic) then it took another 15 minutes to get to the ground floor because the elevator stopped on every floor. But more importantly, I was extremely disappointed with the room itself. We had a King Size Room and paid extra for the City view. The view was spectacular (especially at night). The room itself left a lot to be desired. The bed is really low to the floor. The room is tiny!! The room is so small that we had to sit the suitcase on the bed in order to open it because there is nowhere else to put the suitcase. (And who wants to put a suitcase that has been rolled through an airport and down a city street sidewalk on the bed they have to sleep in). There was something that appeared to be mold in the bottom of the shower, there was hair in the shower, the sink faucet has caked-on dirt, the sink drains slowly and the paint is peeling in the bathroom. This room was not a good representation of a Hilton property. I was thoroughly disappointed and will not return.

The room (3 of 5): The room was perfectly fine, bright and nice. Very good bed with good mattresses and pillows. The room was admittedly a bit small. A small selection of sockets and pegs for hanging clothes. Also, little shelf space in the bathroom. Some noise from neighboring rooms, but nothing to worry about. One point of irritation, however, was the smell of cannabis that came in our room from time to time via the ventilation system. Whether this is related to someone smoking in some of the nearby rooms, or whether the smell of cannabis came from the air intake on the outside, is not known. The room service and housekeeping (5 of 5): The level of cleaning was very good. The room was nice and clean, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. They were both professional and pleasant. The house keeping personnel deserve recognition for the excellent job they did. Of countless hotel stays across the United States, the quality of the house keeping services at this hotel is among the very best. The cleanliness of the common areas and related the training room and the business room as well as the communal toilets in the basement were also very good. The bellboy service (5 of 5): The bellboy/doorman service was very good. Very impressed with the professionalism of these guys. They were helpful and pleasant and exceeded my expectations when it comes to customer service. They went above and beyond to provide the best possible service. They had full control over everything, not least taxi bookings. It was also very nice to have a chat when you passed by, and that you could get some inside tips about restaurants etc. The neighborhood and location (4 of 5): Very decent and central location, short distance to public transport. Restaurants and shops (delis) in the immediate vicinity. For those of us who come from the countryside and others who are not used to the challenges of the big city, one would possibly be surprised by everyone who apparently smokes cannabis in the area, homeless people, etc., but this does not pose a problem to the average traveler, and this is not worse than elsewhere. Not all of us can be scouts and members of the salvation army, and the variety of different types of people is as it should be in a city like New York. And besides, whether you're homeless, have problems with drugs etc., most people appear friendly and they're just trying to make the best of their day as best as the can.

I’ve never had so many problems staying at a hotel!!! Worst hotel stay and experience ever. 1. The front desk staff who helped with my check-in was not at all friendly. I don’t feel welcome at this hotel at all. 2. The room they put us in looks old, dirty, has carpet with holes in them, and bathroom door with loose hinges. 3. I requested for a room change the next morning. The front desk staff this time is a lot more pleasant. She got us another room, gave us 1 signature cookie (which I was supposed to receive when I checked in the first day but didn’t) and 1 breakfast coupon. There were 2 of us so I supposed she expected us to share. 4. The replacement room is much smaller. I don’t even have space to open our luggage. 5. The next day, the toilet flush was not working. Called the front desk and they promptly sent maintenance to fix it. 6. The following day, the bathroom choked and flooded the bathroom. Again, they had to send maintenance to fix it. 7. Despite asking front desk to arrange for daily housekeeping, once at check-in and repeated the request over a few calls to front desk, our room was still not cleaned and made up. 8. Bathroom clogged again after 3 days and flooded the whole bathroom and the carpet outside. Sigh… 9. Lifts are slow and take forever. We sometimes only managed to get into the lift after waiting a few rounds. We are supposed to stay 10 nights here and have already experienced so many issues in half the stay. Really regretted booking this hotel. Location is good though, perhaps the only redeeming factor. Rather than hope to welcome us again, the hotel should just make our current stay better!!

It's a good central location. Easy to get to, quick elevators and a good staff. Lots of construction around it but it worked as expected. Bathroom was tiny and I couldn't get the motion sensing light to stop coming on. The heat was fine but the fan didn't do anything so no white noise. Plugs are all good and plentiful. Quiet enough on the 15th floor. You get what you expect a decent clean hotel for a decent price. Nothing exciting nothing terrible.

We booked this hotel as part of a package deal with British Airways. I was a little worried when I saw some of the reviews but I didn't need to be. Check in was fast and we loved the complimentary cookie (seriously good). We had a room on the 34th floor, and always managed to get in a lift within a few minutes except for one day when lots of people were checking out and the lifts were busier. The room was on the smaller side but absolutely fine for us. The view was incredible, especially at night. The hotel was clean and in a good location, close to times square, easy to get to subways and lots of midtown attractions are walkable. Its in a busy area, so may not be your cup of tea if you prefer a quieter location. The hotel had luggage storage which was really helpful on our last day, and Carlos sorted a transfer to the airport so we had a stress free final day before heading home. Would stay here again 👍

Being a Hilton property much more is expected than what you get. This hotel is not worth the price. The rooms are dated and very small - so small that you can't keep a suitcase open. There is a closet which is inaccessible if the chair is out. The bathroom is ultra small with the towel rack just above the potty seat - if one them drop they go directly in the dirty water. The shower head is dirty. They don't even add bottles of water for the guests. At the check-in they offer cookies which you are expected to carry wrapped in paper tissues - please arrange a small paper bag. The view from the 29th floor are 3 ugly tall buildings and a small glimpse of a road - so don't be fooled when they say high floor room with a view of the skyline. I stayed in the high floor premium room by paying a premium price and this was my experience. The lifts are fast which is a good thing. The guy at the luggage drop is fast and helpful. The check-in was fast on a Labor Day weekend. If you need room service you need to inform them a day in advance.

The rooms were very small however we had a decent view from the window. We weren't told upon arrival that we would have to request a microwave or a refrigerator so we ended up without one the whole stay. They don't supply toothpaste but luckily I brought my own. Upside their morning cookie handout was great they are so delicious. The room service came quickly even though they were located outside of the hotel. The front desk ladies were sweet and they were attentive to our needs minus the fridge amd microwave. The location is awesome it is right next to a pizza place! And lots of attractions are within walking distance. Also I appreciate that after you check out they hold your luggage for you until 12 am without charge so you can continue to enjoy New York.

Before check-in & Check-in We were able to leave our bags in the hotel until we could check-in at 3pm. This service was free! 5*! Check-in was smooth and easy. We got warm cookies as a welcome gift. 5*! Our stay We had a (NY typical) small room with a GREAT view over NYC. The room was clean, had bathroom amenities, hairdryer, coffee machine etc. / The hotel offers free water in the lobby Location Just a stone throw away from Times Square. All major attraction are walkable (if you enjoy walking, which you should when you come to NY). Overall a great stay and I do not understand how this hotel can be rated with only 3.6 of 5 ?! For me, personally, a perfect choice.

This hotel offered us the best that the Big Apple offers. The staff were extremely cordial -- especially Carlos...so much more than a Bell Man! He really cared about the guests and readily shared recommendations about sites nearby. With his instruction and encouragement, we successfully navigated the NYC subway for the first time. Dennis at the Front Desk was also very welcoming during the check-in process. Although one elevator was being serviced and was unavailable for a short time, a staff person was assigned to manage the flow of guests and optimize the other set of elevators. The room was immaculate and each bed had 4 fluffy pillows. The room was larger than I expected in a city where the square foot cost of property is over $900. The bathroom was nicely appointed and the shower was roomy. The location was ideal and we felt very safe and secure during our stay.

I’ve been too many hotels but this is by far the worst I’ve been to. The only good things about this hotel is the location and the staff friendliness. First of all, you don’t get what you see on the pictures. The room is extremely tiny and the bathroom as well. The isolation is horrible. There wasn’t a night where we slept correctly! If it wasn’t the beeping of the elevator it was our neighbors (and they were just talking). Or a party on the rooftop where they turned the music extremely loud, it was like the music was being played in your room. Then, the hotel is ridiculously overpriced once more for what you get: cleaning upon request? And only the towels and trash? Never ever have I experienced this! And which hotel room doesn’t have a fridge? 🧐 Don’t expect the WiFi to work at a high speed. You need to connect a bunch of times before it actually works. The waiting time for the elevators is just terrible. To end it all, I’m not the one to request daily cleaning. But when I do I make sure to put everything away as I had theft in the past and since the room was so tiny I did wanted to make it easier for the cleaning staff. So when the do not disturb sign is on it means ‘no entering’ right? No, two days in a row somehow they did enter our room! The second time the cleaning staff said the sign wasn’t on, like really? I’m really not the one to complain, but this had to be said. I’ve been to other hotels in New York already and never have I experienced this.

I was a little nervous about staying at this hotel because of the negative reviews I had read online, but I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and had a great view of Times Square. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect, just a short walk from all the major attractions. The only downside was that there was no complimentary breakfast, but that's a minor complaint. I was especially impressed with the staff's willingness to extend my checkout by an hour. I had a late flight and didn't have anywhere to store my luggage, so they were happy to let me stay in my room for an extra hour. This was a really thoughtful gesture and it made my stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to others.

This is a really lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, the beds are really comfortable, the cleaning staff are very efficient. The bell hops are amazing; not only will they take luggage to your room, but they will also store it on the day of arrival or departure if you wish to go sightseeing. They are also the best people to ask about the locality. They know the best restaurants, bars and sights. One even took us to the roof terrace, just because we hadn't seen the view! The hotel is 2 blocks from Times Square, which to be honest left a lot to be desired. If you walk there, you will walk past some run-down buildings, but the walk is worth it if only for the Hard Rock Cafe!

I recommend this hotel. It is a great location and only a few minutes walk to Times Square. The hotel room was clean upon arrival and they were able to meet our requests for extra towels in a timely manner. The views from the 23rd floor are amazing, especially at night time. My family and I slept fine throughout the night with no disturbances or noise. I would like to give a special thanks to Carlos the bellman for helping us store our bike and explaining to us how to use the elevators as you need to tap your card before pressing the buttons.

In reading other reviews, my wife and I were a bit skeptical of how our stay would be. However, we realized that many of the complaints were due to unrealistic expectations. It's NYC...it's going to be crowded, there is going to be a wait for some service and the elevators. The rooms cannot always be luxurious suites, unless you are willing to pay a lot for extravagance. Our room was small, but VERY CLEAN! The front desk staff were AWESOME and very accommodating. The front desk clerks, Mustafa and Tiffany greeted us each time in a professional and friendly manner, and took very good care of us. The wait time for the elevators were a little long at times, but certainly reasonable based on where the hotel is located. The location of the hotel is EXCELLENT, near Times Square, Bryant Park and Rockefeller Plaza...all within walking distance. My wife and I will definitely be returning to this hotel specifically because our stay was everything we expected, and actually exceeded our expectations in other areas! We definitely recommend staying here!!

Unfortunately most of the negative reviews are pretty accurate (ac, elevator time, cleanliness, out-dated rooms). I stayed Saturday-Tuesday & booked a double bed w/city view. I’m not sure if it’s because our room was on a higher floor but our AC was not working. A mechanic came to work on the AC on the second day but it was still pretty warm in the room. I would bet it didn’t get lower that 78 degrees. We had to keep the window open our entire stay so that some of the cool outside air could make the rooms slightly bearable. The cleanliness was meh. The shower bathroom floor is yellowed & the walls were stained. The area is always busy and with small sidewalks it’s a struggle to get here. I’ve been to NYC several times and we usually avoid this area b/c of price but stayed due to its proximity to MSG. I would recommend just biting the bullet and staying in east village and taking the train. Usually pretty short commutes and you can stay in much nicer areas. First day we arrived our room was not ready until about an hour after check in and there was someone from corporate asking people if they wanted to book future stays. I understand that corporations want to make loyal customers but after a day of traveling I really don’t want to be bothered by someone about booking another stay. I wouldn’t stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend staying here either. Does not give 4-star hotel vibes.

I got cookies (free) that was nice. The service people front and restaurant were nice. The rooftop bar is closed for a good while, which sucks because I was looking forward to it. My room was COLD they had a unit but it didn’t work! I gave it two days thinking the room would warm up and it didn’t. I let the front desk know that it wasn’t working they sent up and “engineer” which didn’t fix the overall problem. So basically our high fan was more of an auto fan it kept turning off defeating the purpose of maintaining a warm room. So, layers of clothes helped to stay warm for the overall stay. So make sure you guys take extra warm blankets !!

The lifts are well, efficient when you can get in one,the lack of a service lift is telling. Our room was functional, the bed comfortable and the windows filthy on the outside. The 'kettle' was functional and the tea, disgusting. The shower door allowed much water past the door seals, the shower tub was cracked and the sink had a huge gap between the tap, being mounted too far back in its dedicated hole in the sink body. The bar was extortionate, the staff had little knowledge of bar work and added tips to the bill, even when the level of service was deplorable. Be warned, they use pre-made mixes to create even the simplest of cocktails, even a bloody Mary, which I ordered,,,I returned it for a full refund, it was disgusting.

Was very sceptical at what to expect after seeing some of the negative reviews toward the hotel but I am pleased to say that my personal experience of the hotel as whole was in-fact extremely positive! The rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh sheets and towels, yes the rooms can be a little small but it’s what you expect from a hotel in central New York. Check in was smooth and easy with all the staff very helpful and friendly, we had no issues with lift waiting time as some people have mentioned. The location is literally bang in the middle of everything, we never needed a taxi or subway for anything we visited. Overall for the hotel itself I am very happy for what we paid for and would 100% return in the future. Thanks again.

Hotel was easy to find and check in was relatively quick. We received cookies but there was no water - we ended up walking to Target to get drinks & snacks which is about 5 min walk away. We were worried about the lifts however we never had to wait long for a lift. The room was perfect for what we needed, comfy bed and a nice city view. We did have an issue with the bathroom (toilet) however after reporting it the following day we noticed the maintenance crew were sorting out a lot of rooms with the same issue - and later in our stay the water was turned off to resolve the issue. You can hear a lot and the doors have big gaps underneath. We were able to hear a dog barking and anyone using the lifts. On our last night I was woken up and kept awake by a crazy who had somehow got into the hotel and was banging on all doors on our floor. He kept shouting through the doors to let him in - this went on for a few hours. There are no vending machines but there is an ice machine. The bed was really comfortable and the pillows - our room was quite hot but it was freezing outside. Housekeeping came daily which was nice. We had breakfast one day and we opted for the buffet, the food and staff were very pleasant. The location of this hotel is perfect - very quick walk to times square, subway etc.. One important note - the bell boy ordered us a taxi to the airport and a price had been agreed, once dropped off at the airport the fare was much more than advised. The driver was also very offhand.

When one elevator was down, they closed another elevator to make it exclusive for the bar above. There was moments where that exclusive elevator was not in use, and it was still not available to hotel guests. When there are four elevators in your hotel, and one goes down, you don’t close another one as well. I paid for the hotel and its amenities and priority was given to non hotel guests going to some bar. This caused a massive, unnecessary line to take the only two elevators available. A line that took up the whole lobby and 25-30 minutes just waiting for an elevator to my room. That lobby was as crowded as times square. For a hotel that already has a lot of wait for elevators normally, the closing down of an elevator when another is down was just unacceptable. Plus 2 out of the 3 times I asked for cookies they were not available, so what sets Double Tree apart from the rest was not even there. And finally, the room I selected a night before my stay was changed 2 hours after the supposed check-in time of 3 pm for a room with a worse view. The only good thing that came from this stay was the service from the bell man Carlos. He is exceptional and honestly should not be working in such a poorly managed hotel that doesn’t care about their guests. He belongs in the best of hotels as he genuinely does care and provides the best of the best service. Hotel is next to a subway stop which is convenient, but it is situated in the exterior of times square in an ugly, unsafe area. Wouldn’t recommend to no one, and definitely wouldn’t return when I come back to Mew York.

When I arrived I had a short wait to check in. It was thoughtful for the front desk clerk to ask my room preference, and I went with a quiet room on a high floor. Yes there was a wait for elevators, but not too long during the entire time I was there. They do get busy though... stopping on numerous floors. The room was definitely worn out, BUT it was incredibly clean. I travel with a black light flashlight and I was shocked at the cleanliness of the room. It is a small room, and I'm not sure how more than 1 person would fit. I used all the hangars and drawers. (Maybe I'm just a heavy packer) I slept really well since my room was all the way to one end of the 31st floor in a corner. I was surprised at how quiet it was. The location is amazing. I don't spend a lot of time in the Times Square area, and the subway is at the end of the street. It was very easy to get anywhere in NYC/ Brooklyn and it's close to lots of major attractions. The hotel is not perfect, but the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. I had a nice stay here.

We enjoyed our stay here! The rooms are clean and the staff was nice. The lobby gets crowded and you must have patience (and your room key) for the elevators. It is very easy to drop off your luggage if you arrive before check-in or after checking out. ❤️Very convenient to transportation and good food. I would stay here again. 😊

The hotel staff is truly exceptional, always ready to assist with a warm and friendly demeanor. Don't miss out on the delectable cookies – they're an absolute must-try. The rooms are comfortable, and housekeeping is readily available upon request. The location is outstanding, with easy access to all amenities. You'll find the Port Authority metro/subway and bus services just across the street. Major attractions like Times Square, the Theater District, Central Park, The Edge, and the Empire State Building are all within walking distance. For those craving international flavors, the Jollibee restaurant is conveniently located right across the street. Additionally, local gems like 2 Bros Pizza, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants are all nearby. I would undoubtedly choose to stay here again in the future. A heartfelt thank you to the entire reception staff for making our stay so pleasant. The rooms are cleaned daily, and we were satisfied with the comfortable bed and well-maintained shower room. Once more, I eagerly look forward to returning.

This hotel is in a fairly good location but it is looking a bit tired and worn and definitely needs some refreshing. The lifts get really busy at times as well which is understandable due to the size of the hotel. Overall a good stay but the rooms are quite shabby, wallpaper peeling off, old stained carpets and walls and worn furniture - could do with repainting and updating. Also found an old dirty sock from the previous guests in our room. The gentlemen working in the lobby assisting with the luggage are delightful however. Not sure I'd stay here again although the prices were fairly reasonable.

Booked to stay for 6 days, 5 nights. Upon checking in on 1st night, we realised the AC in our room was not working. Called to reception to report and they sent an engineer to our room to fix the problem. Unfortunately the problem persisted. But it was 1AM and we decided to live without any AC that first night. The next morning, we reported the AC problem again at the front desk together with other problems we discovered overnight - bathroom sink was clogged, coffee machine in the room wasn't working. We were informed the AC problem wasn't logged into their system and they had to send another engineer to look at the problem. Again. We instructed the staff on duty if the AC problem still isn't fixed, to book us a new room with a working AC. We also emphasized we would be out sightseeing the whole day. We were informed this was not an issue. They can book us a new room if AC problem persist. To our unpleasant surprise, when we got back to the hotel that night, not only was the AC not fixed, we were told there were no available rooms to move us in. We were told the hotel tried calling us to check if we want to move into a new room since AC not fixed but no one picked up. When we asked what number they called, they informed us they called us in our hotel room which was ridiculous as we had informed the morning team we would be out the whole day and left very clear instructions to move us into a new room if AC not fixed. Staff were unhelpful. Kept insisting we did not pick up the hotel room call hence we have no room. The staff repeated this statement over and over. There was no solution offered. At all. There was clearly little to no communication between hotel staff. We were left to re-hash our issues every time we spoke to a hotel staff. Each time, no solutions were offered. Poor staff training. Poor communication skills. Poor service all around. Such a horrible experience especially for a renowned brand such as Hilton. So utterly disappointed.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel! Its central location is perfect, being close to subways and allowing easy access to the main city attractions. The breakfast, albeit at an additional cost, is plentiful and offers a variety of delicious dishes. The rooms were meticulously cleaned every day, making my stay extremely comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient and enjoyable accommodation.

Took a birthday trip to NY and wanted to give this property a try because of its great location.....boy was I disappointed. Reception/front desk: 4/5 staff was very friendly and helpful and even went as far to text to update me on my room. Check in: 3/5 Pretty easy, although my room was not ready and I had to be switched I recieved my key on my phone which was convenient. Restaurant: 3/5 (3 due to service) The food was delicious, afternoon bar tender he made very good drinks. Service could have been a little better, once the shift changed the young lady servicing us was very slow and took like 30-45 to even check on us and bring the check (mind you only 1 other customer was there). Same thing happened when we returned later that night to the bar. She disappeared for over 20 minutes and the waitor apologized and took care of me. Room: 2/5 THE ROOMS ARE SO SMALL! I found it hard to believe the room I was in was truly a king bed. There is VERY MINIMAL room for 2 people. Furniture is close and barely and room to turn around. Bathroom was not clean, had to ask for new towels because the ones that were there were dirty and had stains, super gross. I asked for a mini refrigerator for my medication, they took over 1 1/2 hours to bring it (thank got for my ice bag). The refrigerator looked like someone kicked it down 32 flights of stairs, it was dirty, dusty, dented up everywhere and smelly. We ended up having to walk to target for more disinfectant wipes. I definitely would not return here or recommend this location. Definitely disappointed me.

Stayed for about a week at this location. The view was great, virtual check in was easy, room was updated and clean, and staff even let me use the business center before check in so that I could work before the room was ready. This is a very large hotel and therefore wait times for elevators can be long, especially at peak times. If you are in a rush, budget some extra time for elevators or request a lower floor so you can take the stairs. Staff was incredibly friendly. Rooftop view is amazing and a great spot for happy hour. Drinks were very reasonably priced for the rooftop. Will absolutely stay here again when in midtown

The staff is friendly and the bellboys took good care of us. On top we were given a delicious welcome cookie (best we had during the whole week) The rooms are a bit run down but clean and since we only needed a place to sleep this was fine. The view from out window was stunning! The location is right in the middle of Manhatten and super close to the times square. It is in a side street and can appear a bit shady in the evening as there are a couple of homeless people down the street. Overall we felt safe though but I can imagine for single women it might feel different.

We stayed here over Christmas 2022 ( myself, my wife, our 15 year old daughter and our 10 year old son ) and while I agree that the rooms are small, and the lifts are old, I'm not sure what people are expecting from an old hotel in the heart of New York, if you want to stay in a 5000 square foot room, with super fast lifts, stay outside the city in a new build Hotel and commute in!! The rooms are perfectly fine for sleeping in, they are well appointed, clean, comfortable and if you pay extra they have great views of the city. And that's another thing, the city, people complain that around the hotel it smells of Weed ( or Cannabis, or Pot, or whatever you want to call it! ) I have news for you here, Cannabis has been legalised in New York, the whole city smells like it. Then there are people complaining that there are homeless people around the hotel, oh the drama!! It's a city, of course there are homeless people, show me a city anywhere in the world and I will show you homeless people. Maybe the complainers would like the hotel to ask the homeless people to disguise themselves as bushes or something! During our stay I only approaches the front desk 4 times, and every time the staff were very polite, helpful and friendly, but then again, I didn't go there to moan at them, you get back what you dish out people, if you are pleasant, the person you are talking to will be pleasant back ( another shocker!! ) and a special mention has to go to the hotel Bellman, he was especially nice and helpful, when we came back on our last day to collect our bags, I needed to use the toilet, so he lent me his key card so that I could pop down to the Gym and use the toilet there. My only negative comment would be about the food served in the restaurant, it wasn't bad, but we had one breakfast there and realised we could walk 2 blocks and get better, so we did, again, the service staff were great. All in, we had a great Christmas, enjoyed the city, and when we return we will staying here again, personally we liked the hotel, thanks to all the staff.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. The check in process was fast and efficient; the front desk personal very attentive; the hotel personal bell boys, cleaning crew, concierge were very harm , had a great attitude and were super respectful . The down stairs bathroom extremely clean and smelled really good. My room was little small but great for two people, the mattress and pillows very comfortable . I had a very nice view too. Overall I highly recommend this place and will absolutely stay there again. The only complaint I have is about the guy who handles the BAR by the lobby charged me $5.00 for a bottle of water, $5.00 more for a bottled soda in CASH To me was outrageous but I was thirsty , freezing cold and tired to get out of the hotel ; at the corner of the hotel just a few steps to the left there is a pizza place VERY TASTY PIZZA by the way; I paid $1.25 for a bottle of water and $1.25 for a bottle of soda the next day too bad I did not know it was that close.

I'm being generous with two stars. The only good thing was the pillows. Seriously, this hotel has figured out how to skimp on the most basic amenities. For example, I needed to write a note and there wasn't even a notepad and pen. One skimpy bottle of shampoo for two people. There was no bath mat. (Fortunately the water was hot!) A broken ironing board. The replacement was also broken. (I don't think they actually swapped it out.) There were very few plugs, so I had to crawl under the desk to plug in my laptop. Room cleaning was stated as "by request" but the one day we didn't want service, we got it. The housekeeping staff left bags of trash outside our room, along with vacuums and other cleaning supplies. It stayed there all day, each day. The elevators were slow and crowded. The lobby was always crowded and reminded me of a youth hostel. The neighborhood is not the best. The breakfast buffet was poorly supplied. The coffee in the lobby was usually empty. Even the "warm cookies" seemed a bit stale. I will amend my review and say that the only good thing besides the pillows was Lou, the weekend bartender. He was great! Needless to say, we won't be staying here again.

NOT SAFE DURING COVID. Long lines for the elevators leads to no one following (or enforcing) distance separation and limiting occupancy in elevators or the lobby. Very common for fully 9 people to squeeze into elevators WITHOUT MASKS and thoroughly breath in each other's air for the multiple slow stops throughout the building. Lobby wreaks of smoke - further indicating a lack of good ventilation. Every single hand sanitizer dispenser I came across was empty for the ~10 days I was there. Rooms are tiny but I guess this is expected for NYC, house keeping requires a days notice which is odd. Location wise the hotel is near a Dept of Corrections facility and a Bus Terminal making it non-ideal to walk in the immediate vicinity. The saving grace of this hotel are the staff who are excellent. I had a bathroom toilet leak and a non-functioning phone when I checked in, they were quick to give me an alternative room and help move things over. I later had a maintenance issue with the in-room safe which was responded to promptly and efficiently. Overall this was not on par with 3-star hotels typically found in NYC, and does not provide good value for money.

30 degrees Fahrenheit outside, freezing cold, and the heater in the room was broken. Told the front desk, and they couldn't care less. The front desk staff directed me to the manager, named Sata, but she also could not care less about the situation. We were wearing coats in our rooms because it was so cold. I would not recommend staying here. Don't expect anything good from this "4-star" hotel. --- I don't believe a word from the hotel's response comment on this review. If they really cared and wanted to make it right, then they should give me a refund, or give me a voucher for a free stay, or at the very least offer a partial refund. All talk and no action. Why? Because they don't care. Someone eventually came and "fixed" the heater, but having the heater on meant that we had to sleep with our noise-cancelling headphones on, because the heater made it sound like we had a generator in the room. Also, the bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke. Someone above or below us was definitely smoking in the bathroom.

Location is great. Staff very friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant at the hotel is freezing. Cold air blowing down so hard that your food gets cold very fast. Not a pleasant experience. Rooms are very small but that is NY. The rooms are also very cold. Despite having the thermostat on 90, the cold drafts coming in keeps the room around 70. The room was clean, but very "used". Only two of four elevators working and the line is 20 deep.

This is my second time staying here, the first time was amazing! This time though, HORRIBLE. Besides the front desk people being amazing, I did not have Hester for all 3 nights I stayed! I called over 20 times and each time they would tell me someone was coming up and NO ONE WOULD. I even went downstairs and was told the same thing. It was 7 degrees outside and my room was 47!!!!!! For 3 nights and no one would do anything, not even change my room. The last night was the coldest night while I was there, that I had to check out at 4 am because I was so cold and just sleep at the airport until my plane arrived at 3 pm. After I left, I tried to contact the manger and couldn’t get ahold of her, so I called cooperate. 2 days past and I didn’t hear anything so I call back and the manager told them to give me 5000 Hilton points. 5000 points is 25 dollars roughly. Yes, thank you for the 25 dollars that I HAVE TO USE AT HILTON to even redeem it. So I called back and now a week later, I got refunded for one night, even though Stayed for 3 in a 50 degree and below room, yes, might as well slept in the cold. Thanks for nothing! Read the other reviews, they say the same thing about the heater and I have YET to hear from the manager. To think I was a returning customer, never again.

Great hotel and reasonably priced to stay in Manhattan. It’s not a five star hotel but for a family of 6 with 4 teens it was perfect. Rooms were small but that’s Manhattan for you. Very clean and staff is courteous. We only slept there, we were mostly out visiting NYC. We were able to get two rooms. We saved on our hotel stay to spend more on dining out and attractions. We were walking distance to everything. Parking is also hard to find. We found City Parc parking for 40$ US a day. Parked our car for the rest of our stay.

The hotel is located in a convenient location, relatively central. The staff are okay, are not rude but don't necessarily go the extra mile. I am giving a 1 star review simply because we were charge a $150 deposit when checking in that was assured to us it would be refunded and it still hasn't been to this day. We checked out at December 23rd, we left the room pristine and still no refund!! This is daylight robbery! I understand some banks might have delays of a couple of weeks but not for almost 2 months! We have been sending emails to the hotel but they all have been ignored. If you look at other several reviews, they complain about the exact same thing. So unless you are in the mood to be robbed of $150, I would recommend to put as much distance as you can between you and this hotel!

Didn't receive cookies at check-in but getting in to our room early was a much greater value for us! The room was larger than other NYC hotel rooms. Location is fantastic and convenient. Staff was helpful and friendly. We had a room on the 25 floor right across from the elevators but the rooms are surprisingly quiet. Better than expected! The walls of our room were a bit stained but we didn't let it bother us. The Pros definitely outweigh the Cons on this one!

Our first night we got no sleep as we could hear the music from the rooftop bar until 3:30am. The music was proper club music and made it impossible to sleep. The following morning we asked for a room change and they did so. This room although we could still hear some of the music at points, was much nicer and as a result we had a very good nights sleep. Staff were nice and the hotel was central to everything!

Location is great. Close and walking distance to most things we wanted to see. Service was great and staff are very helpful. Elevators were a pain and took ages to arrive most of the time. The room was only okay. The size of the room is definitely only for one double bed and they stuffed 2 double beds in there. It gets quite crowded for 4 people especially if you have luggages. There’s no overhead lighting, only lamps and sconces. Towards the end of the 5 day stay, the shower started to flood.

Quite honestly, one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in North America. Won’t go over the elevator wait time which have been discussed ad nauseum. My room was between two elevator banks and the walls are made of paper so I could hear every elevator song and word of conversation. I woke up to the strong smell of marijuana even though smoking isn’t allowed. The heating didn’t work, although that might be a blessing given that it seems like it would have sound like a jet engine based on reviews. Finally the room layout is obnoxiously bad. It’s very hard to access the closet space and there are no hooks on the walls. Don’t even try to use the desk as there is hardly any space between the desk and the bed to pull out the rolling chair. Some of the staff were helpful but were not consistent in their service. After two separate morning staff members told me they’d set up a different room when I came back from my conference, the evening staff told me I needed to have brought my stuff downstairs that morning and given the hotel was full, I wouldn’t be able to change rooms. This was not brought to my attention by either morning staff. Location was good, but I didn’t feel super safe. Wouldn’t recommend for solo female travellers or families. I won’t be staying at any DoubleTree properties in the future based on this experience.

Tiny, dark, poorly lit rooms-max 200 sqft with no microwave eventhough I asked for one to be placed in my room at the time of check-in but that never happened. I had to use my phone light to look in the closet that how poor the lighting in the room is. Washroom was also tiny but clean, housekeeping was exceptional and cleaned the room everyday. Staff in general were very helpful. The entrance just like the rooms is very poorly lit, I fact not lit at all and can easily be missed! Location is excellent and the only reason 99% people stay here it seems. When charging well over $350/night it is unacceptable not to have any water bottles in the room!

The hotel itself is great! The rooms are tiny as are the beds, but that's New York for you. The only downside was the number of sketchy people and huge bags of trash you had to walk by to get into the hotel. A security presence out front would have made me feel better about it. But the hotel itself was fine for our week being tourists in NYC.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff and a good gym. No natural light in my room due to it facing a wall with windows. No privacy blind, so it was either blackout curtains or others seeing in. The lights were poorly designed and with those bright white bulbs that are not relaxing. Absolutely tiny space; even by myself I found it hard to navigate. When my cousin joined me for one night, it was impossible! Location is really good and it wasn’t loud. The window also opened (a fraction) so the fresh air was nice.

Hotel staff friendly. Very clean hotel throughout. Cleaners in room daily very attentive and even laid out balloons on birthday during stay. Hotel room good for a base while staying in NYC as don’t spend a lot of time in room while there. One morning we were awoken at 4.00am by a fire alarm and evacuated the building for 45 minutes which is unavoidable however, there was no communication of the situation or any hotel staff to see during the incident and no explanation when it was resolved. Would recommend staying here, elevators were never an issue as some reviews state, a total of 4 elevators to all floors. Very modern hotel and know exactly what you’re getting with DoubleTree by Hilton.

Not sure how this is rated as a 4 star hotel lol. This hotel was a joke the elevators take at least 10 minutes to get to you when coming down. The staff was upset when I asked if they could give me a call when the room was ready for check in and the rooms were very small without any walking room. The entrance to the hotel is ridiculous the door barely opens up before you walk to the automatic doors. Do not come here. The rooms were pretty clean except the bathroom walls had stains.the rooms dont have a refrigerator or microwave. My friend stayed at the four points next door and it was 100x better and is rated as a 3 start hotel. The breakfast was $25 for some eggs and toast lol. Don’t know how this is a hotel by Hilton, should make them take the name they usually have good hotels

can’t believe the amount of bad reviews for this hotel! we stayed for 3 nights and don’t have a single complaint. The elevators were always quick for us and didn’t have to wait long. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were a great size for NYC, the beds were so comfortable, very clean and brilliant location - we were able to walk everywhere! Would 100% recommend and stay again- thank you!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Was going to give four stars or even five, but upon entering my room Saturday night around 9:30 PM, I felt it rattling from the bar upstairs. I felt the bass in my room. I wish someone would tell you when you book the 36th floor over the weekend, that this could happen. Told me the music will stop at 11pm… The location is good not great, pay a little extra and stay somewhere else. Carlos in the lobby was amazing and quick. Room was clean, small as expected. I think our room had a bed from the wall, like a Murphy bed of sorts, comfortable enough. No side tables, no room phone, unsure if that is in every room or just ours. View was good, got a corner so could see river. Elevators were okay, during rush times, had to wait. But again, on top floor we always made it down okay.

The location for Times Square was great unfortunately I was rejected for my previously paid for room the moment I arrived because I was not told their age policy up until I came. I am 20 and their age limit is 21 so for guest who are under 20 and staying alone I recommend the Pod or Paramount hotel if you’re looking for something fancy but inexpensive stays. Staff was 50/50 honestly some are really helpful if you encounter the right ones but the others are a whole different story. All in all decent hotel for its location but if you’re planning to stay here please don’t.

I think it’s pretty unfair that this hotel has a lot of negative reviews, however I think people are always more inclined to leave a bad review than a good one, so here’s a good one! Myself and my partner really enjoyed staying at this hotel for our base on a week long trip in New York! Staff were helpful and provided us with the tastiest warm cookie on arrival. Lifts were generally very prompt and it was rare that we had to wait more than a few minutes for one. Room was pretty spacious for New York (we had the king bed city view) with excellent hot powerful shower in bathroom. Each day that we asked we got excellent housekeeping - it was lovely to come back to a beautifully made bed and fresh towels each day - and the staff were very prompt at fixing a light that blew in our room too. Partner enjoyed the gym too. Hotel is such a great location for either walking around midtown or catching the subway elsewhere. There is a direct line to JFK airport via the E line. Only slight disappointment is that we booked a Freedom Tower view room and paid extra for this through our booking (BA) (it also shows this as an available option on the Hilton website), however I was told after check in that there are no rooms in the hotel that actually give you a view of the Freedom Tower which after visiting the rooftop bar, I do believe is true. Would recommend that that option gets taken off online booking platforms so as not to mislead people or to incur unnecessary extra upgrade fees. Also be aware that even the King rooms don’t have tvs with streaming options so was a bit rubbish that we couldn’t log in to Netflix to watch a movie in bed. Maybe get those updated? Overall, very happy with our stay and would return :)

We were on the top floor (36) great view but the noise from the rooftop bar was load. A couple of small issues with the room which I sorted myself which most people would have had to change room. The bathroom was good and the beds were nice. 1 lift broke down but was quickly fixed, location good with time square just around the corner which is the best place to jump on the subway

Looking at the reviews I was apprehensive about the visit. Some of the reviews have valid points and others not so much. The location and the staff are absolutely fantastic. I had no issues with any of the homeless people outside around the hotel, generally they just leave you alone. The hotel appears modern but once you spend time their cracks start to appear. The comments about the elevators are correct, if you have mobility issues I would advise against staying here. We used the stairs on multiple occasions due to the wait for the lift. The attendance of housekeeping I would describe as sporadic with varying levels of cleanliness. Overall if you are using the hotel as a base and can overlook the small issues it is ok, however I feel you can get better value for money if you shop about. I wouldn’t stay here again.

  • 4/5 Paul H. 8 months ago on Google
The hotel was clean and rooms were a “standard size” for New York (on the small side but sufficient for what you need). We had a small issue with our shower but the front desk was happy to help and maintenance looked at it the same day whilst we were out. We were on the 33rd floor so had great views, but this meant that we did have to wait on a lift (often for a few minutes). The hotel is great for transport and proximity to Times Square, but the street that the hotel is on is not the best for families with young kids or single travellers.

I've stayed here twice but for some reason, it's not the quality I'm expecting out of a Hilton owned hotel. The rooms or the entire building really need remodeling. Rooms are unfortunately tiny, and the walls just don't really look clean in some areas. My room didn't even have a mini fridge this time (last year I did at least, but that room had its own fair share of problems.) The bathroom is usually the main issue. Shower door is never secure enough where the water always runs out into the floor so the towels always have to constantly get changed. This particular room was bad because right outside the door next to my bed where the night stand is, the floor was wet. Not soaking wet but it was still bad. There isn't a vent either so if you plan on using the toilet, get some air freshener. Despite those issues, the room is still fairly comfortable for what it is. We have a TV with its remote with access to the HDMI ports. The internet works, and we can control the temperature. If I come back for a 3rd time, I hope it'll be a better experience...

Our stay was great and hotel was central location to all of our activities. Our room was ready early (typical box size of a room for New York) Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the room had some cleaning issues that we took care of ourself. The supervisor in the afternoon was pleasant and Sata had great customer service. Thank you for making my 4 year old have a memorable experience for her first time in the city!

Everything was clean. The beds were comfortable. Near lots of restaurants so didn't have to go far if we were hungry. Only issue were the elevators. There is around 30 floors and 4 elevators. If you press the elevator button on one side both sides respond to it and they aren't separated by floors. Waiting for the elevator was a chore when there were a lot of people, especially if you were on one side and the elevator on the other side opened instead so the people waiting on that side filled it up and you just have to press the button again. They move fast though.

The rooms was very nice, comfortable and very clean. I was in a high floor so I had a lovely view of the Hudson and partial Midtown Manhattan. The only down part were the elevators, even though there were four of them, one was out of commission, and that created a constant very large crowd in the lobby and long waits to go up or down. The location was a little hard for me to take, but was close to everything, and once I was in my room I forgot about what it looks like downstairs. This is the good the bad and the ugly.

  • 4/5 Daniel Z. 2 years ago on Google
If you are looking for a nice decent and fair price this is a great place. Customer service was good. They should probably improve more in empathy with their guests. Meaning, the interaction should be more genuine. For a room of two beds is a studio size and all you have is the bathroom. I stayed for one night and I personally was comfortable.

The hotel was well placed for visiting the area. The interior was a little tired and does need some updating. Our main concern involved staff service. During our stay we needed to change rooms due to broken air conditioning. We waited over an hour for an engineer to arrive. After a further wait we were given a new room but again problems, no hot water! We were then given keys to another room and staff asked us to go and check it ourselves. No assistance was given to move our belongings or offer any help. This was totally unacceptable, having complained to staff and manager during our stay. We feel the whole episode did some what spoil our holiday and we experienced very poor customer care. My husband and I hope Double Tree Hilton take note of our complaint, as we will be unlikely to visit again. We have yet to receive any apology or acknowledgement of our complaint.

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL Only rented a room for 1 night with 3 of my friends. Upon booking online there was no notice of a security deposit due at check in. Upon checking in I was made aware of it, I would not have cared as much if it were a $50 security deposit, but this was $299. When I paid less than that to book the room. I was told it would be fully refunded upon check-out. We checked out on January 16th....still have not received my refund. My bank has told me numerous times they do not see a refund processed to my account from them and that they can't do anything about. It has been 3 weeks of me trying to in contact with the hotel's billing department, their assistant general manager, and their general manager. The billing department and general manager never got back to me, and the assistant manager Devin is very hard to get a hold of. Devin informed me he could send me the paperwork proving the refund was processed and it would only take a few minutes. Well it's been days...still no paper work, no word from Devin. The security deposit is supposed to be a hold on your account NOT A CHARGE. It has been almost month and still no refund or proof it was ever processed. I can't say it enough....DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL

“We’re out of bottles of water, if you want water you’ll either have to drink the tap water or walk down the street and buy a few bottles” was the response I got from the front desk when asking for a bottle of water for the room. No apology or explanation as to why the hotel is out of water or why they didn’t just go buy some for their guest. So around midnight I had to leave my hotel, walk down the block I’m freezing temps and buy water to drink because the hotel was out and didn’t seem to care about being out of one of the most basic items any hotel can have for guests. This was just one of many issues for the weekend. This has been unequivocally the absolute worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced in my adult life. We experienced broken elevators, locked stairwells (so we couldn’t take the steps because one of the elevators was broken), a non functioning ice maker on every floor, a pillow case that was not probably laundered and we had to ask for a replacement, less than helpful front desk staff, and the cherry on top was when our heater in our room stopped working on the night of our last stay. Instead of actually hearing the room it just made a loud humming noise until we turned it off. I can’t overstate of terrible of a stay this was- if I had known how awful it would be you couldn’t have given me the room for free. Will never ever stay here again and recommend to anyone else I talk to- don’t be enticed by lower prices. You get what you pay for, and honestly - for the price, we still got less than what we paid for. Terrible experience.

I could describe it as the best value for money. The hotel is very nice, given of course that it is located in the center of Manhattan! Small hotel, small rooms, but relatively spacious, well-appointed and clean. This hotel is a great choice for anyone wishing to stay close to Times Square. Me on the 25th floor and I had a view of skyscrapers. I did not have a problem with the lifts - at most in 5 'they had come. The receptionist was helpful, he served us perfect hot cookies on the first day! Great location, two steps from Times Square and very close to two metro stops. As for the danger, do not think about it !!! You will see some "strange" people circulating nearby at night, but they do not bother anyone! Besides, there are police in every corner ... Finally, they kept my $ 350 guarantee at check-in, which they owed me at check-out.

We stayed here for 4 nights and the place was lovely! Unfortunately they were under renovation but the staff was VERY friendly and polite. The room was very clean but a bit small (can't expect much more from NYC). The view of the Empire State building was beautiful from our room. Elevator was a bit slow but nonetheless it was a fantastic stay! 10/10 would recommend.

Hard to beat the location - just a couple of blocks from Times Square, but just far enough away that you can find decent rates sometimes. Same-block access to the Port Authority ACE subway lines, with underground connections to most other Manhattan subway lines via Times Square, makes this very convenient to not need a car for your stay. I got a 'cozy' room, but I was expecting that in Manhattan. And it was on the 31st floor for a great rate and nice view, so no real complaints there. I didn't use services too much, but the front desk was helpful, and the luggage storage and retrieval on my last day in town was very efficient. Would definitely stay here again for the right price!

This was our first trip to NYC. The room was small but very clean. The location was great. The restaurant food was very good. The front desk was good although I asked for an extra blanket and it didn't come so 2 hours later I called down again. 2 hours later it didn't come. Then the front desk called our room and woke us up, asking if we got our blanket. We said no and it still never arrived. The highlight of our stay was Carlos, the bellman. He was amazing. So friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. He always remembered you with each meeting. I used a mobility scooter while there and he was always willing to help store the scooter for the night and make sure it was charged. He recommended great places to eat. Overall this hotel made us feel welcomed and important because of Carlos.

I have stayed at many Hilton properties in NYC and stayed her the first time last night. Very happy with this property and will look to stay here for future trips to the city. Good west side location - easy to get everywhere in the city. The best part though is the staff. They have a well trained team and that makes a difference. Everyone was wonderful. Rooms are typical NYC hotel size (which I knew going into the trip) but was quiet at night and very clean. Thanks for the great stay. Will be back.

A perfect location for visiting Times Square, and other nearby attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and an adequate size for my solo stay. The bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of plug sockets. My only complaint is that my room was missing a do not disturb sign. I do however, recommend avoiding the small shop in reception. It’s convenient, but the prices are very expensive, at over £4 for a bottle of water.

Rooms fine, location great, service great. Restaurant shady Everything was great until the day we were checking out and we realized we have been double tipping the restaurant because they include a forced tip (which isn't a tip...) of 20%... the food is already overpriced. Fix that and I'll fix my rating. Last waiter we had let me know about the tipping and didn't cause me to tip twice, but the min is 20% forced. Better cafe 8 minutes away.

Seth at the front desk went out if his way to make our stay extra special. We were traveling for my daughter’s graduation and my son’s birthday and he set up a surprise for us when we checked in. What a wonderful asset to your company. Also, your concierge/bellmen were incredibly helpful, kind, and professional! Thank you for an enjoyable experience ✨

This hotel is in a good location, that and the concierge is the ONLY thing it has going for it!!! The desk staff barely speak and are certainly not welcoming. The rooms are basic, it is interesting to read people had bugs, I have come away with several bites but presumed it was the damp humidity... The overriding issue you should consider before booking is the HORRENDOUS LIFT SITUATION. The lifts are not adequate for that amount of guests. On average we waited 20mins every time, they were always full. At one point there was only 2 of the 4 working. I can hear you saying why didn't we use the stairs - we were on the 12th floor and my husband has had cancer surgery, not that I have to justify it as everyone should be able to use the lift.

The hotel is in a good location but the outside is not kept clean. Outside needs to be swept and new outdoor furniture. Lobby is always crowded and the rooms have the bare necessities. Clean but cheap bed and furniture. The roof top is dingy and dated. Not a good atmosphere on the rooftop.

This place is near everything. I got a room that could see many famous landmarks. The Empire State Building, Hudson Yards & The One World Trade Center. The elevators were not as bad as I was made to think. I got out in 5 minutes on the busiest day. Oh, the bed! I got a very comfortable king-size bed. This is very important after walking in this city.

Modern hotel in a great location - over the road from the bus terminal and subway and 10 minutes from Times Square. Room was very modern in style and has everything you need but was small so tough to relax in. But it's New York so who cares about relaxing! Ensuite was spacious enough and the shower was massive. The view of the back of the adjacent buildings were certainly nothing to write home about though. Again, it's New York and not unexpected. The staff were great. The beds were made and rooms cleaned and refreshed regularly. Air con fan was pretty noisy at night so we turned it off as the weather was comfortable to sleep in. The reception staff and porters were rushed off their feet but always attentive. The elevators were a pain and there was always a wait involved, but you got there in the end. Swiping your room key to access the floor you were staying in seemed a bit hit and miss and confused a number of guests. The lobby is small and hectic and the outdoor area very small and seemed to have a semi-permanent group of smokers in it. Didn't use the on site food or drink options but they looked pretty basic. You aren't going to mistake this place for a luxury, top end hotel in any way - if that's what you are after look elsewhere and be prepared to loosen those purse strings - but it is clean, functional and well run. I'd stay here again.

My family and I have just returned from a two week stay at this hotel. We had a fantastic time and the room was perfect for four of us. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the lady who took care of our room daily and Carlos who stored our luggage and gave us some information that led to us having the best last day there possible. The location was perfect, on. A slightly less busy street Times Square at one end and 9th avenue with its restaurants at the other. The cleanliness of this hotel was very good and we had everything we needed and more towels/pillows when we asked. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you

We went NY for a few days and stayed at this hotel. Let me first say the staff is amazing, we had 1 inconvenience while staying and the staff was happy to help us get it sorted out. I want to say a huge thank you to the Frontdesk Supervisor (Amanda). We appreciate everything you helped us with throughout our stay!!! And to all the other staff, thank you!! Secondly, the location is great, its located walking distance from times square and subway stations making it easy to get around. If you stay on 1 of the higher floors you're able to get a good view from your room. For all the reasons above, I give this hotel a 5/5 rating.

A little expensive for the experience, the rooms were ok, not very large but good enough. There were mosquitoes in the room even with the AC which was weird. The curtain shower had a weird smell to it. The rooftop has amazing views but 20 dollars beer which was super weird. Specially since we order a corona, nothing special. And the elevator was terrible, we were in the 26 floor but any floors lower and it would’ve been impossible to get a free elevator. I feel this is a New York thing but still is part of the rating.

I truly never leave reviews but felt compelled to do so after the AMAZING level of service I received from everyone really, but specifically Casey and Paula at the front desk! I am a breast feeding mom traveling for work and had to schlep my pump and supplies with me. Once I brought down the milk and asked them to store it for me since the rooms didn't have a fridge they immediately, without question, handled that AND had a fridge sent to my room so I wouldn't have to come down in the middle of the night or anything. These two were so kind and understanding, they did everything in their power to make me feel comfortable. I will ABSOLUTELY stay here again and make sure everyone I know knows about it :) thanks again!

I really don’t understand the bad reviews here. This hotel was faultless. Staff were lovely and always ready to help. There is a water station downstairs which is really good to have. The room was clean and very neat. Loads of towels in the bathroom and loads of soap and shampoo. The men that take care of the elevators are so nice and always smiling. The hotel felt really safe as you need the keycard to use the elevator. I would stay here 1000 times over. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Writing this review mainly to help other visitors. My opinion based on my experience. You cannot really tell there is a hotel when you get there. You have to go in through an alley. Other hotels near by seems to be better looking. The lobby is not like a hotel lobby definitely not 4 star looking lobby. Very hard to sleep for two main reasons - Heater is very very loud (like an airplane taking off) kept me awake whole night. -Room is not sound proof so you will hear people walking outside at night and you will hear the elevator beeping. - There is a rooftop bar so keep that in mind while booking it gets noisy Safety is a concern - The location is not really good does not seem to be a safe neighborhood. - I did not see any security at the main door. You will see someone in suite standing by elevator but they cannot control since the lounge is packed at all time. - I have seen weird people in the lobby - A lot of homeless people and some weird people right outside the hotel so not safe definitely not safe at night. Someone followed me to the hotel door. - If you plan on going out at night this might not be the right place for you - The lobby is always packed with people and they cannot control who is in the lounge who is not - To get into the hotel you have to walk into an corridor Cleanliness - I would say it is more of a 3 star hotel cleanliness - Stains everywhere on the wall of rooms - The lobby is packed at all times and not really clean - No complimentary water in room, soap bar instead of shower gel. But you do get a free cookie while checking in - Housekeeping do change towels everyday and clean room
