This is my go to when I need some winding down. I have been coming here for over 5 years and have see so many vast changes in that time. I appreciate how special I feel when I encase myself in the views. The most spectacular, I might add from Brooklyn. Rainy days seem to be the most appropriate time for a visit. Less crowds is the biggest plus! What also makes this park pretty special is that you can walk down to the “shore” and encase in the griddy water, haha. You won’t find any clear or blue toned waters around here but the griddy screams city and these small features make my visits special.

A great park and surrounding area! Great views of Manhattan skyline. Also check out Domino Park, some of these photos are from there by the old Domino Sugar Factory.

This is one of the best parks in the city. Very well designed with sitting areas. It is less crowded compared to other parks in the city and has a few vendors for a snack. Highly recommended

Great views over the East River. Nice little sandy area to read or just look out. Less crowded than Domino. Since the park is dedicated to Marsha, there are plaques around detailing trans history, which I appreciated! Picnic tables in the confines as well - love laying out a blanket and just relaxing here in the sun or shade

We loved the educational signage regarding trans rights and the history of the park’s namesake. The park was spacious with lots of provided seating and recreation areas. There are bars and restaurants nearby and great skyline views.

I've been to this park before but now after its renovation, it is even more beautiful. It is a big park and the landscaping was beautifully done. It has a dog run and picnic benches. There is an area that looks like a tiny beach. There is also a playground. The views from here are nice and it is right on the East River. I will be returning in the future to this Oasis in Williamsburg.

This park is a family favorite, picnic tables, trees, dog park, green grass and some very simple wooden play structures for the kids. Also a good place to picnic either on the tables or grass. Great to just catch a good chill view of the city. This park can get very hot during the summer, with the limited trees for shade but otherwise a solid park that used to host smorgasburg pre-pandemic.

This park was nice, not crowded, but all the shady areas were taken. The park was clean, grass wasn't well maintained. The bathrooms were clean and close to the entrance of the park. My children were disappointed that there were only swings at the park. But enjoyed those none the less. There were plenty of people on the soccer field that was nice to see. Great views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River. Very relaxing place. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful waterfront park overlooking the east river. There's lawns and rocks to sit on. You can go right up to the shore. There's benches as well. Pathways are wheelchair accessible. Very modern and pretty

Such a cute park. It was pretty packed because we went there to attend the Smorgasburg food festival (which was amazing!!!) I’m glad they have it at this park the views of the NYC skyline are incredible. It was also nice being by the water to get a good breeze!

Easy to reach by bus or subway (L), space to enjoy good weather. Plenty of benches, tables & lawns to hang out on. Small beach and great skyline views of Downtown and Midtown Manhattan.

Great Park and make sure you bring the balls to play with. They have swings and a great area for a little children pretty minimum, no slides. Beautiful views and great area for a picnic I was going to give it a five stars but parking in the area was difficult and they need more than just an open space for children.

This is a beautiful park with stunning views of Manhattan. I’m so glad I attended the free, open to the public live performance of Jarrett Key painting the backdrop for the NYC Pride Grandstand here. I’ll definitely visit this park the next time I’m in Williamsburg.

Good for the picnic area and running . But if you do have kids I don't recommend bringing it here, since they don't have a playground.

This is a nice riverfront park to rest and watch the sunset over Manhattan. There are plenty of grassy areas in both the shade and sun. It seems great for a picnic. There's also a small strip of sand along the river with lots of rocks to sit on.

Such a beautiful, inspiring and peaceful place in honor to the great activist, thinker and precious soul of Marsha P. Johnson. This LGBT friendly park in Brooklyn is very well maintained, there are plenty of green areas, including a little garden that brings color to the landscape, even dining tables if you’re looking for a cute place to have a picnic! For me it was a surprise to find this beach by the East River, you get to relax to a nice view of the Manhattan skyline. Overall it was such a spiritually beautiful experience for me. I recommend you stop by to connect back with nature 💚

This is where the Smorgasbord holds their food market, crowded but fun place on the weekend especially during the summer season. Not a huge park it got everything. There is the food market, and little park with swings, wooden chu chu train and bridge next to it, then there is also a public soccer field next to the little park. In conclusion, it is a fun little park for people who wants to socialize but definitely not for relaxing or alone time.

A park located in Brooklyn at 90 Kent Ave. The park is near the East River. The park has various facilities and nice corners to sit in. In addition to that, every Saturday there is a food market where booths are set up to sell diverse and delicious food and drinks. From the park you look towards Manhattan and the view is amazing.

Nice park went for the Smorgasborg good event. They set aside a place for the food event and it was really great. There is a waterside attraction around the park with stones and places with nice pictures.

This park is both a memorial to a transgender person and a functioning park. A prominent TLGB+ activist in the 70s, Marsha's body was found in the river and, whilst the coroner ruled it suicide, many who knew her believe it was murder. There are several signs throughout the park that give background on her and the TLGB+ community. And they're worth reading as you visit the park. The park is situated on the east river bank in Williamsburg. This gives it a full view of Manhattan. And the space itself is quiet, calm, and well laid out. It was one place where we sat down just to watch the world go by.

Nice place for walks or relaxing on the grass reading a book or just sunbathing. Beautiful views of the city and smorgburg is located in the park. Many different vendors choose from a lot of vegan options here. Unfortunately, there are no dogs in the park due to events going on in the park

Another great park in the city. This one is right by the water and if you're lucky on Saturdays when it's warm outside, they have smorgasbords, delicious food and great people watching

Usually when something is going on here you will find me here. I love the park and think it is one of the nicest urban parks ever. If you didn’t come here yet, you need to. And check online for a festival that will make things better.

  • 5/5 Alma O. 4 years ago on Google
Great experience, the view is completely magnificent. You can enjoy the ny landscape while sitting on the edge of the river. If you go on Saturday’s between 11 and 6, you will be able to enjoy smorgasburg, a seasonal outdoor foodie market, that is fantastic and filled with tons of fantastic vendors, it’s definitely worth it!

  • 5/5 Al P. 4 years ago on Google
Great park with an outdoor market, outdoor fast food, BBQ, a place to play sports and a great place to take pictures and video very close to the water with access to east river. Place has a lot of BBQ tables, a short walk to the Ferry and Hurricane Point

This is a really beautiful park with an incredible view of the syline, right on the water. Plenty of space for activities, picnic tables to have lunch, and lots of outdoor classes (like yoga etc). The only downfall is that there is seemingly only one entrance into the park? We walked all along the gate and around the corner before finding a single opening to get in. Not a huge issue, just a little confusing to be able to see the park but not enter.

Great park. Glad to see it’s finally (slowly) reopening after years of construction! Has a great area for kids to run and the enrichment center is perfect and well attended. They have toys, books and games for the kids now there. Can’t wait for the rest to finish construction so we have full access to the park again.

We visited on Saturday, the place was crowded. It was a sunny day and there are not enough places in the shade and not much to do. The water front part needs cleaning. Tere are public restrooms but the line was very long. The place has great potential to become nce place to visit.

Whoa, whoa, whoa is all I have to say about this place. Numerous selections of food from all over. A lot of vegan options. Spacious and great views of Manhattan skyline. If you've never been, my advice is don't wait. It's only around for the summer. And it's free to get in. My only critique is the restroom situation. Gotta add some port-a-pottys to the equation. Way too much people for just 2 bathrooms 🚻
