Great dinner experience - amazing Italian food with a very nice wine selection. Elio made the whole experience even better with the great recommendations provided, which were spot on. The restaurant definitely deserves a star, which I am sure they will also get in the future. Highly recommend going there - I will most definitely come back!

Authenticity is the key to one of the best Italian meals I’ve had — in Italy or otherwise! A group dinner hosted by Italians from Italy. Thank you, Chef Michele for an incredible meal. The food, the presentation, the taste, the service, the wines all were world class in every way. Yet, the atmosphere is very home-like and simple. Nothing humble here and rightly so — just pros who know they’ve got their diners enthralled every step of the way. Grazie mille! And I must return!

Anelle and Alex were so intuitive and passionate about recommendations in accommodating their customers. We were the lucky, satisfied and impressed recipients. As a Advanced Level Sommelier, and former award winning Italian restaurant owner, I found our entire experience inspiring, engaging, and even somewhat humbling. I was never this far along in my career as these young people are. Such a treat to have been hosted and embraced by this entire staff.

    - Dined in on Feb 14, 2024 for a special occasion (birthday of my ❤️). - Food was excellent. 2 people: 1 person ordered 6 courses Emilia Romagna and 1 person ordered 9 courses “No Menu”. You can mix and choose what you want for “No Menu”. 5/5 for food. - Service was great in the beginning but the speed for the food arrival was extremely slow. We literally counted between each dish and it was about 30 mins gap. Had to tell the waitress that we want the food to be faster and they improved after that. Again, very very very slow service and they yet charge 20% mandatory service fee at the end of the meal. 3/5 for service. - Atmosphere is cute/romantic. Good for date night if you want to spoil your significant other. - Spent $589 for 2 courses + 2 drinks + additional $40 charge (excluding tax) for white truffle addition.

No an expert of fine dining, and actually came here for somewhat “just Italian food” after visiting museum in a rainy day. Anelle has done an incredible job in introducing the restaurant and right after we are convinced that we shall try the no menu 9 courses and my only requirement is to surprise me and taste good. She designed the menu and gave seasonal good and something out of the menu. Overall the food is good, wine recommendation is good (Anelle described wine in a simple and easy way to help non expert understand). The meal is fulfilling. The money worth it. Services are good and they are knowledgeable in their food and ingredients. Presentation is simple but decent. 2 hours for 9 courses and the 2 hours were really enjoyable ;) thanks! If I come back in next year vacation, I hope Anelle will still be the one to help and continues to surprise us!

Excellent Italian in a small joint with one of the best chefs in town. The pasta is beyond belief. All homemade. We had them make a custom plate of CAVIAR and all of them were wonderful. The staff took a lot of time to carefully explain each one, where it was from, the subtle differences and what to look for in each one. Check out the photos of the custom caviar dish. Also note that they have a great WAYGU beef selection. Desserts are crazy good and they have some 50 year old, 100 year old and 150 year digestive (no alcohol in it) that they can add to your dessert. We tried the 50 year old and it was awesome. Photos lay it all out for you. Everything we had was awesome. Get a reservation. Super small place but one of the best for sure. Pasta with lobster is a must have.

One of the things I'll be able to brag about is that I've been to this place before it received a Michelin star because it's a question of 'if,' not 'when.' First, the service was immaculate. Anelle was very courteous; she walked us through the menu and inquired about our preferences to craft a personalized 7-course dining experience. Anelle was very attentive throughout the dinner. Each course was thoughtfully crafted from the freshest ingredients. The combination of flavors and textures was exquisite yet balanced. I can't describe each dish; you just have to go and try it for yourself. The atmosphere of the place is very homey and cozy. I'm already looking forward to coming back for another treat.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while doing a google search to replace a different reservation. Wow! What a great choice we made by switching to Lucciola. My wife and I had decided to visit NY for my 50th birthday. Lucciola made the visit even more memorable. The food was just unreal, beautiful and delectable. We decided on the Chef's Choice 9 course tasting. The staff took the time to interview us about our tastes and any likes or dislikes concerning our palates. They hit the mark! Everything was superb. Thank you Lucciola and staff for a night we will never forget.

Such an amazing Italian restaurant. I’ve never had such an authentic experience…except when I was in Italy. Bologna chef - this place is best in NYC. Alexandra was ultimate - I would ask for her! You won’t be disappointed. She was knowledge about the ingredients and food process. If you want to take your experience to the next level - she will be your perfect guide.

The place is a bit expensive, but their pasta is probably one of the best I had in NYC! Creamy, flavorful, delicious! Therefore, I don’t mind paying a bit more for something that’s worth it. I do recommend them and I will likely return to try their pasta tasting on a special occasion!

Wonderful restaurant. Our server Elio helped us understand them menu and make informed choices for what is probably one of the best meals I've ever had. My wife started with one of the burrata appetizers, which she loved. We also had the caviar and Iberico appetizer. Again, amazing. The gnocchi duck dish was amazing. I think it's the best dish I've ever had. Thanks for such a wonderful meal. I wish we'd had a chance to eat here again before our trip ended. Next time in the city we'll be back for sure.

I love this place. Quality food, great service and a feeling of home. My mom and I usually go when she is in town visiting me and everytime Lucciola keeps surprising me. We also request Alex as our server because she knows our tastes and she lets us try new wines recently acquired from the Chef! ! Looking no further and book now!

Fantastic dining experience with Anelle. So knowledgeable, personable, and clearly passionate about their job. The food was to die for and very thoughtfully curated based on our dialogue with them. Wine paired nicely but the real emphasis should be put on the quality of the meal and the service which was top notch.

We had such a wonderful experience, from the food to the service! Anelle was our waitress and went above and beyond. For each course, she took the time to introduce every meal, create excitement, and make us feel taken care of. She was extremely knowledgeable on each dish and we could feel the passion she had behind the food at the restaurant. The food itself was sensational and we savored every bite. We recommend anyone coming to this restaurant to request her as your waitress - you will not be disappointed! We look forward to returning again soon!

Great fine dining. The staff was both friendly and professional, everyone was very helpful regardless of if they were waiting you. They have a a good wine selection, I recommend anything red. I had the opportunity to try multiple plates that were all superb in taste. Everything was freshly prepared and had tons of flavors. I recommend anything I had (see photos). They are definitely on there way to obtaining Michelin status.

Filip and Alexandria are absolutely fantastic! Couldn’t ask for a better team to guide my culinary experience here at Lucciola. They were very knowledgeable and passionate about the dishes they picked for our 9 course tasting menu. The food is tender, flavorful, creative, and exceptional. I would recommend this place a 100 times over! Treat your taste buds to some delicious food and great wine.

Lucciola Restaurant in NYC is not just a dining spot; it’s a culinary destination. The moment you enter, you’re greeted by an ambiance that seamlessly blends sophistication with a welcoming warmth, setting the stage for an extraordinary experience. The true star of Lucciola is their ‘no menu’ tasting menu - a six-course journey through exquisite Italian cuisine. Each course is a surprise, curated based on the freshest ingredients of the day and the chef’s creative inspiration. This innovative approach transformed our meal into an exciting adventure, as each dish unveiled was a delightful mystery, surpassing the last in taste and presentation. The handmade pasta deserves a special mention. It was a showcase of authentic Italian craftsmanship, offering a taste that was both comforting and luxurious. The balance of flavors and textures in every dish was impeccable, reflecting the high caliber of the chefs. Complementing the culinary experience was the exceptionally attentive and knowledgeable staff. Their recommendations were thoughtful, enhancing our dining experience with each course. The wine selection was also noteworthy, with a range of options that perfectly paired with the various flavors of our meal. In conclusion, Lucciola Restaurant is a treasure in NYC for anyone seeking a unique and memorable dining experience. The six-course ‘no menu’ tasting menu is a culinary delight not to be missed. It’s a place where each visit promises new flavors and lasting impressions. I’m eagerly anticipating my next visit to this wonderful gem!

A Feast for the Senses! From the moment you step into Lucciola, you know you're in for something special. It's the best Italian restaurant in NYC, offering a dining experience that's second to none. The 9-course tasting menu is a gastronomic delight, and when paired with the carefully selected wines, it becomes an extraordinary culinary journey. Chef Michele's incredible talent and dedication to Italian cuisine make every dish a masterpiece. For the best value for money and the most memorable dining experience, Lucciola is the place to be.

First time visitor to Lucciola and couldn’t have been more pleased. Our server, Anelle, was very pleasant, welcoming and took the time to explain the entire menu, which appeared a little overwhelming at first. We put our trust in Anelle for her to select a bottle of Borolo and the tasting menu she recommended. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable and the evening was enjoyable. Highly recommended!!!

Food is good, prices are unreasonably high and the Patio seating is very cold. The Staff members are very attentive. Kitchen messed up on our pizza order but they responded quickly and resolved the matter in minutes! The lack of heat and the unreasonable prices is the only concern.

I can’t say enough about this place. Best homemade pasta I have ever had. Great wine selection. Truly felt like you were dining in Italy. The best waitress we have had also. Definitely check this place out and make sure you ask for her!!!

Returning to NYC after spending almost 2 weeks touring Italy, I was desperately craving a real authentic Italian meal. A friend highly recommended Lucciola so I decided to give it a try.. and all I can say is WOW! What a meal! Everything was perfection from start to finish. First when we arrived we were sat in a table that was inside in individual pod making it very covid safe ! Then our server Alexandra came by to discuss the menu with us… she was so delightful and passionate about the menu that hearing her describe each dish made me want to order everything on the menu! But after careful deliberation, I went with the Lobster Tagliatelle and Spaghettone. Both were cooked al dente and paired with the perfect complementary of sauce.. I was in pasta heaven!!! I highly recommend to anyone looking to satisfy that urge for a truly authentic Italian dining experience!!

Wow!!! What an incredible experience we had. My husband and I enjoyed every moment there. From the moment we walked in, until the end. Everyone is so nice and the atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. Our server Elio was knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients, ask for Elio he was really spot on with everything. The quality of the ingredients and the presentation of the dishes is unforgettable!!! We chose the “no menu” 7 courses and Elio was on point with choosing the meals for us. We loved it and we would definitely come back again.

The best dinner experience I have ever had. This is a must visit in NYC! Ask for Hulya and Alex because they are amazing! We did the Voyage tasting experience. Wine was paired perfectly to each course. Hulya was so sweet & knowledge about all the flavors. My favorite was the lasagna!

Last night while visiting NYC we had a chance to get a table for 4 and was the best thing we did while in town! Service, food, presentation, details , ingredients quality and wine list are just amazing! We had a wonderful time and Chef Michele was so kind, knowledgeable and charming we will never forget and come back. Lucciola food speaks by itself for Chef work and passion and detail orientations, such an hidden gem that deserve Michelin star recognition asap! Staff well trained, polite and into what they do, it means a lot these days seeing a restaurant of this kind being in the Upper West Side and being so genuine authentic.

My friends and I had an incredible dining experience at Lucciola. The menu represented the chef’s Italian heritage (specifically his hometown Bologna) and each course was prepared to the highest standard. I specifically want to highlight the staff’s exceptional job during this enjoyable evening: we had entertaining conversations throughout, they crafted cocktails based on what we liked and gave us samples. We mentioned at the beginning that this was our first time in New York and offered us a very special welcome gift in form of a dessert. Overall, an absolute gem of an Italian restaurant, fantastic hospitality and excellent food.

  • 5/5 Stan L. 4 months ago on Google
This was a fantastic experience from start to finish from everyone at Lucciola for our anniversary. A particular mention must go to Anelle whose passion for the restaurant and the food is phenomenal. We elected for a tasting menu and then wishing to have a couple of dishes from each selection changed to the ‘no menu’ option. A couple of must have dishes from both of us, along with a some ‘get to know you’ questions from Anelle and we had our menu set. Each dish was impeccable in taste and looks. There were delicate dishes, and more rich dishes as you went through the culinary journey. Service was fast and attentive, and the wine selection more than plentiful as the walls of this intimate restaurant are covered with bottles. We would strongly recommend visiting this restaurant for a special occasion as they will most definitely make it special.

Lucciola is an amazing, authentic Italian restaurant on the Upper West Side. Chef Michele masterfully creates dishes that employ the best on offer for the season. Elio is a phenomenal server who remembers your favorite dishes and always has the best suggestions for food and wine pairings. He elevates the dining experience at Lucciola. I had the opportunity to go with my family and we all loved the food and the service. I ordered spaghetti duck egg carbonara, which is delicious! I ate it with tomato bruschetta, to combine the crunchiness with the silkiness of the pasta. And since we always have to leave room for dessert, I ordered the Nutella cheese cake. And everything was delicious! Keep in that way

On my recent trip to New York City, I stumbled upon Lucciola and was immediately captivated by its charm. As someone constantly searching for 'Italian near me' that transcends the ordinary, Lucciola surpassed my expectations. The gourmet Italian restaurant experience, highlighted by the No Menu Tasting Menu and wine pairing, is a testament to Chef Michele Casadei Massari's exceptional culinary skills. His authentic approach to Bologna traditional dishes, paired with the restaurant's commitment to quality and value, makes Lucciola a must-visit for anyone exploring the Upper West Side.
