This playground isn't in a great place/spot for kids to be safe. You have a lot of adults, as well as young teenagers smoking, hanging out, eating, and using drugs while our children are playing in the park. The open space isn't safe for our children to also be away from the adults who aren't supposed to be in the playground area. The actual playground is filty and needs a good scrub down!

Edit, 06.28.2022 - looks like Google finally corrected the name of this park. Old review: The name of this park is Hell's Kitchen Park, not Lorraine Hansberry. I've tried to post the edit twice but Google keeps saying that it can't be verified, even though the name is clear on the parks department website, and on the park signage. There was a brief movement to rename it, but community pushback didn't want to lose the name Hell's Kitchen Park. There is a plaza diagonally across 10th Ave which will instead be named for Lorraine Hansberry. But I wish Google could get the name of this park correct. It's iconic in the neighborhood.

We were just visiting the city and decided to explore a bit when we stumbled upon this park. Very clean and safe. There is a gate around the park and only one was unlocked so no kids would be able to get out. There were basket ball courts and handball plus really cool playground equipment and a sprinkler splash pad! Enough trees to provide shade and benches to sit on. A separate play area for younger children was also there. I called my husband and told him if we have to move to the city I wanted to move near here 😆 I'm sure my son would have had a great time here.

hell may be hot. But this park is spicy hawt. So many cute boys buldge gazing on a daily basis. Where is our bathhouse I had two people ask me for directions to it while I was reading the daily vogue at the park.

Clinton community garden. Private garden available to community within areas parameters for access. Wonderful people and garden is a hidden gem where you can help continue to make it beautiful volunteering or helping out for others when they’re away.

There's something for everyone at this park, and you'll find a mix of people of all ages in the evenings. Lots of park benches and tables for the elderly, slides and swingsets for the little kids, and tennis and basketball courts for everyone in between. It's a small park, looks like it's meant for people from the surrounding neighborhood.

The old park is looking good. My kids (Thing 1 is 31 and Thing 2 is 30) loved this park. It looks a little different now (got a much needed face lift a coupe of years back). I love walking by on my way to the compost at Matthews-Palmer Playground (they, also got a facelift) and seeing the new kids enjoying it: my playground going days are mostly behind me…Tip for parent: I used to bribe my kids with them: “If you behave, I’ll take you to the park later” (you’re welcome-it worked wonders)

Too many young kids coming out of school and adults from the shelter across the street smoking weed in the park practically on top the children. Many undesirables hanging in the park too.

Went in the morning to shoot some hoops. Double rim but not surprising. Lots of birds there in the morning who are very clearly un afraid of humans

I love this little park. Lots of nice cool people enjoying freely and lots of action in the playground. Everybody behaving nice and courteous. If this is Hell's Kitchen, I wonder what will Heaven's Kitchen would be....

My parents and I enjoyed a comfortable bench while neighborhood kids hung out and played. It was perhaps the most deeply relaxing 30 minutes I have spent in New York City.
