Great spot for family and Great afternoon grilling swimming and enjoying the last few days of summer. Very clean family friendly park and beach. The park staff are friendly and attentive. Great spot for a few hours at the beach..

Very nice area in Manhattan Beach. Easy parking after September 15. Large playground, nice beach. Calm surf. Food and drink available for purchase in the summer months. Plenty of benches, trees, tables and room to barbecue. Just be sure to go to the bathroom before you arrive, because the bathrooms in the playground are the filthiest I have ever seen.

A true gem right here in Brooklyn. Great for families! There is a playground with sprinklers, basketball court, tennis court, and a lovely little "boardwalk" to stay out of the sand. This is an accessible beach to a point. **Lifeguards on site from 10am to 6pm daily.** Designated BBQ area with benches accessible by the parking lot. Get there early for the best spot. There is also a cafe to purchase food and drinks if needed. Paid parking facilities, $8 weekdays and $22 weekend and holidays. Parking lot closes at 8pm. Street parking is not allowed from May to September (cannot remember the exact dates.) Restrooms are available and are kept very clean. Outside showers are also available to get the sand off (these get pretty busy.) Manhattan Beach 🏖️ is definitely our preferred location. Please enjoy the facilities and remember to use trash cans or take your trash. Happy Summer!!🌞🌞

Beautiful scenery, water still ice cold despite being beginning of August. Lots of new tables added, so bring your own BBQ set. They took out the ones the park provided. All in all, crystal clear water and well- kept. A must for every summer.

Wonderful place! The atmosphere was so calming and the water, so serene. The park leading up to the beach was very clean. There were benches that enabled me to watch the waves from a distance, without getting sandy. But don’t fret if you do! There are water sprinkler that you can shower your feet/ hands off. It was lovely to eat an açaí bowl with a book in hand, while taking in the pleasant ocean sounds. Definitely will be back!

I chose to go because last time I was there, it seemed like a quieter, calmer alternative to Coney Island. This time, less so. Music (different songs and speakers) blasting concurrently from all directions, the stench of pot, and water that was murkier than ideal. All that being it's a convenient beach to get to and glad to see they've added in free sunscreen dispensers. #SunscreenIsTheNewPurrell

Awesome spot! Nice and clean all the people were chill and courteousness. Great picnic areas. 8 bucks for secure parking during the week (I heard prices go north on weekends but not sure).

Yesssss this is definitely the beach to visit. I visited this beach on a Friday and had a wonderful time. Just as a side note- parking during the week is half price, and on weekends, it's double. The beach was clean; the only exception was the bathrooms. This is the only reason I gave a four star review as there needs to be improvement to ensure the cleanliness of the restrooms. Other than that, it was a pleasant atmosphere, and lifeguards were on duty. The only thing I would caution you about is watch your children because the tides are high. Overall I would definitely recommend this beach!

Great beach for walking. The beach is pretty clean. Beach doesn’t have wooden broadwalk, all sidewalks are newly built cement road. Good for BBQ and picnic camping.

Amazing!!! This was my first time here and I loved it. Went with my family and they loved it too. It was clean and very diverse, the water was nice and the staff worked diligently with the flow of traffic to keep everything in sync. God willing, I'd visit again.

Aside from this beach being tucked away... It's clean.. there aren't too many beaches with clean sand.. and clear water but this has both. I was there filming and the people the atmosphere. Just perfect

Favorite place to go on hot days. The water isn't too deep so kids have fun, there's a lot to do if you don't want to just lay out by the water. Basketball courts, handball courts, tennis courts, a small playground with sprinklers and a BBQ area not far from the water so you can grill and still enjoy the beach. Get there early if you want to secure a good spot. Huge parking lot but it does cost more to park on the weekends.

One of the best places to watch sunset in Brooklyn. But... Absolutely would not go there for a swim, it's like a bay, so all garbage accumulates there. Also, a VERY limited parking during summer season as there is residents parking only in a neighborhood during summer season and paid Beach parking is small. Also, very crowded in a summer. What adds to it is that it has tables for BBQ and picnics. Of season is another story, quite and beautiful, great for walk, run and just be there.

A beach. Was relatively empty when we went as was raining all of that morning.. sand was clean. Water was pretty shallow, no big sudden drop offs like at some beaches. Parking lot was closed.. parked on the residential streets..

Great clean beach to spend a day with family. So go early to grab the picnic table with umbrella. People started coming before 9am the day I went. Parking is $15 on weekdays and $20 on weekends—a bit steep but it’s close to home so better than traveling further.

Beautiful beach. You can bbq and have parties. They have Benches and tables. People are very friendly. They also gave a stand where you can buy food

  • 3/5 Leonardo T. 3 years ago on Google
The beach is clean but it's much smaller than Brighton Beach. I think there are too many people. One has to pay for parking and it's cash only. (Weekdays $7/Weekends $22).

  • 1/5 Sandra Van H. 1 year ago on Google
The beach is nice enough. However, between may 15th and Sept 15 the rich owners in this neighborhood have managed to close down all streets surrounding the beach. The streets are completely empty of cars. Hundreds of parking spaces inaccessible. There is a parking lot but it costs $22 in the weekends and on holidays to park there. It's repulsive.

Looking for a place for good all round leisure and fun activities ? It is here in this popular comprehensive beach location. Childrens play grounds with jungle gyms and swings, ball game courts, ample tables for alfresco dining and of course, necessary restrooms. Perfect for day long family visits or for those citizens who may prefer to just chill out and enjoy the coastal views.

Horribly overcrowded, dirty, stony Beach with overpriced parking.

  • 5/5 Jared W. 3 years ago on Google
The beach is relatively small and they keep it mostly clean. Even during high tide, the ocean shelf goes out rather far so an adult, aberahe height of 5' 6" can walk out there for quite a considerable distance and the water will be at your waistline / stomach. The beach has lifeguards posted until about 6pm. Not many local stores so bring your own food and drinks

  • 5/5 Lee P. 9 months ago on Google
I haven't been there since I was a teen; so it's been a really long time! The beach itself is in really great shape. They've got areas for BBQ'ing and/or to sit. They have mats put down on the sand so even people with disabilities can enjoy the beach. And they've got two separate playground areas. Really brought back great memories. Now, if they can only fix up the softball field.

  • 4/5 Maria j. 3 years ago on Google
Beach was nice, they have parking. It isn't free but it was very helpful. Life guards were there, it was a nice beach. Went there for the first time during this whole covid situation, the kids had fun. The only reason it is four stars is because the out door showers they have SUCKED. Plain an simple no water pressure feel like we were there for 30mins just trying to take the sand off ourselves 🤷🏾

  • 4/5 Janice S. 3 years ago on Google
Nice quiet pool- like beach ( little to- no waves) on the sand can get crowded real quick. No concessions. Couldn't find bathrooms..parking can be challenging.

  • 4/5 ecuapr 3 years ago on Google
Parking near east end of beach. $7 weekday and $22 weekends and holidays. Bay like beach made water warm (air temperature was 93). Good for kids as you can walk out 50 yds in beach and just reaches 4ft tall water. We parked on Oriental and Exeter for free. They have a concession too

  • 4/5 Joselyn H. 3 years ago on Google
Iits nice, location and clean atmosphere. Tables and grills. Great for family's gathering.

  • 3/5 Matt H. 7 months ago on Google
The water is very shallow at low tide around 2- 4pm and extends pretty far offshore. So very good for small kids to swim. There is a current that pulls away from the beach so be mindful. Water vis is pretty bad, about 3 feet.

  • 4/5 Deb Y. 3 years ago on Google
We are part of the early crowd and love the serene familiarity. Everyone doing their own thing. So laid back atmosphere. We just keep returning!!

  • 2/5 Charlton R. 3 years ago on Google
There is one thing I really liked about the beach. When it's low tide you can walk way way out in the water with your feet touching the ground and your head is still above the water. But otherwise it was a bad experience. The water is very dirty I kept finding bottles and various junk either floating or below. I kept hitting my knees large stones in the water you couldn't see. The beach was way overpacked. The bathrooms are incredibly disgusting and there is no place to change after. Will probably never go again.

This beach is really nice especially for a nice weekend. They have a concession stand which I like but you gotta get there before 4pm so plan your trip early unless your bringing your own food. The waves aren’t too crazy and the wind is calm for the most part but this is a nice Brooklyn find for a little get away or to just have some fun with the family. Enjoy 😊!

Out for some exercise and decided to walk on the beach instead. It was low tide, nice breeze, clean and well maintained. Beach goers were respectful, wearing masks, socially distant and picking up their trash. Caught a beautiful sunset as well. Serene.

It's Brooklyn best secret. Bathrooms and grounds are well kept by the parks department. Security by NYPD is on spot and very professional and know how much to tolerate and not to. U don't really have to keep your eyes on personal belongings .

  • 5/5 Miss D. 2 years ago on Google
It's a nice beach area, a little small when you compare it to far Rockaway Beach, Brighton beach or Jacob Riis beach. When you go to "Riis beach" the park rangers (or whatever you call them 🙄) Like to come and disturb you, talking about No glass bottles bottles (which is fair I guess) then later we couldn't have balloons in our area due to wildlife 🙃. It's a bit uncomfortable. But "Manhattan Beach" The park rangers don't bother you, if anything they'll update you on something and keep it moving. Manhattan beach is very a comfortable and inviting place to be.

It is pretty, small, secluded coves, lifeguards, food and ice cream, bathrooms, showers, picnic tables under shade trees, a playground with sprinklers, and a parking lot during the season. The beach is also accessible off season and is beautiful. There is a wonderful Russian restaurant across the street called Hot Potato for crepes, perogies and borscht to take out.

The location has everything you could ask for. Picnic tables, bathrooms, basketball courts, softball field, kids park with swings and a jungle gym in addition to the beach. It is easily accessible by bus. If you're driving parking can be a little tough but that might be the only drawback I can think of.
