Crown Alley was my first time going out in the United States since returning from my honeymoon in Europe a few months ago. My husband and I went here for happy hour. Their happy hour deals were great! $1 oysters (gotta get 6 minimum) and good drinks (his beer was $5; my cocktail was $8, I believe) made for a nice afternoon after gallery-hopping in Chelsea. It was packed, and I wish that there was more seating available that was not directly in the sun. But we made it work, and we would return.

Had such a great experience at Crown Alley. My boyfriend emailed to make a reservation and the manager Barry responded right away and was very accommodating. They have an amazing beer list, both draft and cans & really great food. The lamb sandwich was to die for and so was the mac & cheese. Try to go before 7 PM- dollar oysters. Can’t wait to go back!!

If I were selfish, I wouldn’t review this amazing place so I could keep it and all its glory to myself and the special folks who know of it. But I’m not selfish and you should know it exists because it is wonderful and absolutely one of the best Happy Hours I’ve enjoyed in NYC. Best Negroni I’ve had in NYC - truly - and it was on the Happy Hour menu. Also, $1 Oyster Happy Hour? Come on!!! Get over there and enjoy yourself with friends, especially now that the weather is nice and the outdoor seating is slammin. Can’t wait to go back. Shoutout to Dean who was our rockstar server.

Small and narrow dimly lit bar with a great vibe and very good inventive cocktails. We sat outside at a high table and had great chat. Cocktails post Happy Hour were ~$14-16 a pop.

For me this is a bar as you would like to see a bar! First of all, Low key! People sitting at the bar, good cocktails, beers and wine. Excellent service provided by very attentive service minded personal, with no attitude. Apparently Happy Hour is rather popular, but don’t go especially for that. I myself haven’t tried the food they serve. However from what I saw coming by it looked like good stuf. In a range from properly filled sandwiches to oysters that look great!! I would have loved to place photos of how the looked, but due to privacy reasons there was no possibility. The place was “packed” in a good way on a regular Thursday! #iwillcomeback

Really lovely little place. Came in with my girlfriend for some cocktails. The vibe is great and the place is really nice. Prices were reasonable for NYC and bartenders were friendly. Highly recommend.

Awesome spot for happy hour drinks and oysters, especially when you want to sit outside. The $1 oysters were delicious and the happy hour drinks had very generous pours!

Dope happy hour ($8 Negronis in Chelsea?!), fast service, colorful crowd, sweet spot. Narrow bar, packed tables, nosh options. Scenic sidewalk outdoor seating. Max Manhattan vibes.

Great place for drinks at happy hour. Staff was kind but only one server was available. It is a small place but they seemed to need some help. Dishes were piling up and our server also was a bartender. Also one of the glasses of water that was handed to us was dirty however we didn't bring it up they seemed to already have their hands full with a full house. They deserve all the respect. The burgers were okay.

Really fun. Lot of good food and drink options and a nice outdoor space as well to enjoy the night. Music was awesome. A little warm inside but overall not too bad. Can’t wait to come back!

Crown Alley is the absolute best! It’s such a fun bar and the drinks are fire. I’ve always had a good time and the staff have always been lovely. Thank you for this last Friday night, you made it so incredibly special for my fiancé (?!) and me. I will never forget walking out through the bar, everyone smiling and clapping. Best night ever.

If you’re in Chelsea near Gramercy park and it’s happy hour… head here. They open at 3 and happy hour is everyday 4-7. A Local place, totally unpretentious and so much fun! Great drinks and $1 oysters. Mules, Cosmos and Margaritas for just $8. Friendly staff made it all the better. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Cute Chelsea bar / restaurant with surprisingly good cocktails, a good beer menu, and good bar snacks. I’m partial to the reuben. Our dance groups comes once a week and we all enjoy it. Outdoor decor could be a bit nicer (hence minus one star) but otherwise great!

Incredible new craft beer bar right in the heart of Chelsea. Amazing selection of hard to find beers and delicious cocktails. Boyfriend ordered the burger and I had the mac and cheese, both hit the spot. We started with oysters which were also great. Had two beers each and loved the variety and rarity offered here. We finished with a final beer and espresso martini. ORDER THE MARTINI. Truly amazing. Can’t wait to make this our neighborhood spot.

Really good happy hour 4-7 Daily including some food, $5 craft drafts, and $6 cocktails, plus game day specials. My Buffalo-native wife tried the wings and gave them her blessing. Plus good service and a nice atmosphere to watch games outside and not freeze with thier heaters.

One of my favorite bars in New York! I have been coming here for a few years because the staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is amazing. I also had my first date with my partner here and naturally wanted to propose here as well. The owner and staff were unbelievably accommodating, helpful and responsive. Thank you to the crown alley team for your help! You guys helped make a really special moment in our lives. All that aside, the drink selection is amazing and the bartenders are always friendly and efficient.

cute outside seating and the indoors is cozy, with string lights. good happy hour cocktails. i had the passionfruit marg ($8), and my friend got the pina colada ($10)

A bit of an uncouth, uppity, and unhospitable owner. Kinda wish I never came here before. All the "reserved" tables are not reserved. If you are non-white, run the other way to Shaffer's, Jungle Bird, Bar Veloce for $7 happy hour, or a nearby spot. They will treat you like proper humans, with dignity and respect.

missed happy hour 4-7 but will need to go back for it. great drinks and greater service from Marty (think he’s there M/Tu/F).

Not a first date spot! If another gay man asks me on a date to this bar, I swear I will fling myself from the top of the Empire State Building. I have been on not one, not two, not three, but four dates to this establishment. I simply CANNOT face another. Chelsea gays, please, I implore you ALL to get a bit more creative. There are some fantastic places on the Lower East Side, for example. (There, I’ve started you off, now please patch in to Google and look for somewhere new! NB, the Swan Room is a particular favorite of mine). Bar itself is pleasant enough with a good menu and offers secluded spaces for conversations, perhaps why it is so popular. Unlike many other bars, it has also got the hang of keeping noise at the right level to allow you to actually hear the person you are visiting with. But, I have to say, it has been completely RUINED for me by the number of first dates I have been on here. I have been taken by candidates including one individual who chirped: ‘Oh my gaaawwdd, I am from Arkansas and this is my favourite bar.’ On another memorable visit, I was asked where I would prefer to have my wedding reception. If I do return, it will be strictly with FRIENDS and likely post watching something at the local cinema. Food here was not grand. I had the lamb sandwich, which was very dry and left me gasping for water - an embarrassing date moment.

So I see why this place have such a good rating. I came here last night for their happy hour that starts at 4. They have a pretty good selection of standard cocktails (which I took full advantage of) The bar is cozy and filled up pretty quickly by 5pm so going with a smaller party is ideal. If you go before 5 you’re more likely to score good seats at the bar or in the back with the tables. The bartenders were friendly and for the most part attentive but once it got busy it was bit hard to put in a drink before happy hour ended. I def will be back again and partake in happy hour when it gets warmer

Found this little bar by chance and it’s now a NYC favourite. Great service and amazing drinks range; we tried both the cocktails and craft beers. Very affordable prices too. Keep up the great work! (Was served by Jesus - according to the bill)

Best happy hour in NYC! You truly cannot beat an everyday happy hour with $8 craft cocktails, $5 beers and $1 oysters!!! Even their off happy hour prices are amazing. Where else can you get a $12 craft cocktail off happy hour?? The vibes are great, the drinks are fantastic, food is delicious, and all around great experience. Really recommend this bar for anyone, but also a really good place to go to before an event at MSG because it’s only a 10 min walk!

Bartenders here are funny and attentive! Came for the happy hour and was very satisfied with the $1 oysters and tasty drinks (had cosmo, mule and passionfruit marg, and we enjoyed them all)! One more point for the super cute decor and ambiance of this place!

I seriously can't say enough good things about Crown Alley. It's the perfect place for a birthday party or any kind of celebration for that matter. Barry is so accommodating and made the whole experience easy breezy! I was able to rent out the entire inside space for a party of 75 people. The drinks are all amazing and everyone had a blast. I can't wait to plan my next event at Crown Alley asap.

One of the best sour beer selections I've encountered, and the menu is listed on Untappd. That's compelling enough for 5 stars, but I'd like the place more if they served flights or small pours.

This place opened during the pandemic and been a constant staple for me, friends and even business drinks. The cocktails are delicious and the food is amazing. Try the burger!

Awesome place for happy hour in a cozy bar. Dean was a friendly bartender who gave us a bunch of recommendations for places to eat and drink. It’s a great place surrounded by great people.

Dean was an amazing part of our experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable and you could tell he enjoyed interacting with patrons. A must-visit establishment for locals and visitors alike. Thanks for a great time!

Surprising amount of seating for a small place. Great cocktails. It does get a little crowded and that can lead to a longer wait for drinks, but that’s understandable. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

A no fuss, fast service, straight cocktails with a few good selection to chomp on. It’s a place that gets the job done.

A Chelsea hidden gem. Crown Alley has one of the best happy hour deals in the area. Sandwiches are phenomenal!

Best bar in the neighborhood. They really fire on all cylinders here. Nice indoor and outdoor space, excellent food, top notch service and great cocktails. The beer deserves a special mention, not only do they have a great core offering, as well harder to find highly rated beers (like Alchemist) but they also have beers you just can't find anywhere else (like Tree House).

Crown Alley is an awesome neighborhood bar just around the corner from my place that I stumbled upon with my roommate, and we're hooked! Their happy hour is the bomb (price/vibes/taste). BUT my favorite part is the bartenders. Between serving amazing $8 negronis and old fashions - they are super sweet and fun to chat with. I gave props to a bartender for his orange peeling skills, and he proceeded to make me an adorable flower out of orange peels in my aperol spritz. It's become my roommate and I's regular hangout (and now I take my work friends for Thursday HH's)! Totally would feel comfortable grabbing a drink w friends or even alone knowing how friendly and welcoming the space is.

Best neighbourhood bar in NYC by a long shot. Good food, incredible cocktails and impeccable service. The owner is a very tall fella called Barry and supposedly he's called Tall Ships and gives free shots to anyone who calls him by his nickname.
