Not
sure
if
Kochi
was
much
better
years
ago
or
if
I
went
on
a
bad
day,
but
to
sum
up
the
review,
the
entire
meal
was
underwhelming.
For
further
detail:
The
courses
started
with
a
sweet
squash
soup
with
caviar
-
it
was
overwhelming
sweet
for
an
appetizer,
and
although
the
caviar
gave
a
much
needed
contrast,
it
wasn't
sufficient
and
the
soup
would've
been
better
as
a
dessert.
The
tartare
was
decent,
but
nothing
unique
compared
to
the
tartare
at
any
other
restaurant.
The
rice
cake
on
the
skewer
was
similar,
crispy
with
a
gochujang
sauce
but
similar
to
what
you
can
get
at
a
street
market
in
Seoul.
The
halibut
was
very
nicely
cooked
but
the
soup
was
lacking
in
flavor.
The
pork
jowl
was
similar
decent
but
the
sides
with
it
didn’t
really
add
much.
The
wagyu
was
perfectly
cooked
and
delicious,
but
it
came
at
the
$60
add
on
price
for
2
very
small
cuts.
The
duck
that
was
the
standard
was
average.
The
white
sauce
on
this
entree
was
delicious
though.
The
bibimpap
with
crab
was
very
mediocre
with
half
of
it
being
micro
greens.
It
was
much
improved
by
the
addition
of
the
uni
($18),
but
felt
like
an
incomplete
dish
without
it.
The
desserts
felt
underwhelming
as
well.
The
first
was
a
froyo.
The
second
one
on
the
popsicle
was
definitely
better.
Having
one
ice
cream
is
sufficient…
unclear
why
they
felt
there’s
need
for
two
similar
desserts
in
a
row.
Service
was
good.
Overall,
it
felt
underwhelming
for
$220
per
person
(one
had
wine,
one
had
nonalcoholic
drink),
especially
given
what’s
available
in
the
area.
On
a
side
note,
very
subjective,
but
we
didn’t
feel
Kochi
lived
up
to
its
name
of
kochi
-
as
it’s
suppose
to
be
a
skewer
tasting
menu.
The
items
served
with
skewers
didn’t
benefit
in
any
way
from
the
skewers,
and
there
doesn’t
seem
to
be
any
component
of
grilling,
smoke
or
playfulness
associated
with
skewers.
