Luthun is one of the most underrated restaurants in New York!!! We ate here in July of 2023, ordering the 7 course tasting menu ($145 pp). Every bite was phenomenal, mixing delicious flavors, ingredients, and styles. Each course was technically impressive and incredibly delicious!! Some of our favorites were the saffron taco, the summer garden (a delicious combination of fresh produce), and the swordfish (with summer strawberries). We were so impressed by the kitchen's unique ability to integrate fresh, seasonal produce into every dish. We were fortunate enough to sit at the chef's counter and watch the team masterfully prepare every dish!! The team was kind and welcoming; the service was great as well!! We thought the price was very reasonable and left feeling quite full compared to other tasting menus. I highly recommend Luthun for an amazing culinary experience!!!

Went in on Saturday to celebrate my anniversary with my girlfriend. This was my second time at Luthun, and the menu had changed this time around. All of the courses were amazing, there was an explosion of unique tastes with each bite. Many tasting menus in New York leave you hungry at the end, however at Luthun, you get the perfect amount. Definitely coming back here as it is a steal for the price. The staff was great, expecting this place to get a Michelin star soon. The Chef, Nahid, not only remembered my girlfriend and I from our last visit, he remembered exactly what we spoke about nearly a year ago. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and if you haven’t been, you are missing out!

Service: very friendly. Menu: they change every 2 weeks. It's around 9 course Highlights: The fusion of Italian and Mexican cuisine. very unique tastes. Seafood and cheese based dishes are outstanding. Can do better: 1️⃣wagyu beef is not cooked to perfection. The bottom part is really chewy 2️⃣course timing: I sat at the counter and at the beginning, food are served too fast. Dining tables open up for seating later in the night which caused relatively long waiting time for main courses to be ready for the counter. This is definitely Michelin standard but I think this place may win a Michelin star ⭐soon if they improve a bit. 3️⃣ Desserts are way too sweet I highly recommend this place as a non-expensive fine dining experience. You'll be gladly surprised

Unfortunately I was massively disappointed by my dinner at Luthun. I’ve been to many prefix fine dining restaurants, and this was unjustifiably bad. Every dish lacked flavor, depth and any resemblance of creativity. In fact, every dish tasted the SAME. It was quite unbelievable and I kept hoping the dish was a miss and the next would be better, but that never happened. The staff was friendly but did not seem at all educated on the ingredients, including wine list. Really odd for a fine dining restaurant. Overall very bizarre that anyone found this experience worth the price.

Luthun is definitely an experience! The chef developed a creative tasting menu that blew us away. The presentation and the flavors were on point! Service was friendly and warm. Every bite was unique and we’re definitely looking forward to the new menu! If there’s only one thing to nitpick, during the visit there were moments were it was hard to understand when they were explaining the dishes due to the noise from the other tables. Other than that everything was perfect and 💯 recommend!

My wife and I liked Luthun so much the first time we went that we took a friend there on our most recent trip to NYC. And to say it didn’t disappoint is an under statement. Chefs Nahid and Arjuna are experts in their craft and the tasting menu they crafted that night can go toe to toe with any in the city. The combination of textures, temperatures, and flavors surprised us throughout the evening and kept us wanting more after every course. If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply have an outstanding meal this is your place.

OMG - this place is amazing! We have eaten here six, yes six, times and they knock it out of the park every time. From raw fish dishes in salty, spicy sauces, to brown butter earthy morel mushrooms, to Octopus tacos in sesame leaf and rice wrappers -the creativity of the Chefs is just outstanding. We totally recommend the tasting bar, but if you want to save a few bucks and enjoy sitting at a table, it works just as well, albeit with fewer courses. Each meal starts with a Fushka (aka panipuri) filled with something salty, sour, sweet, spicy and simply complicated. It only proceeds from there with one flavor bomb after another, until you are ready for their famous sweet/salty desserts, which are a perfect closing to the rainbow of flavors still lingering in your mouth. Last, their somm Jahdea and manager Dorian are world-class and will welcome you like family and get you perfectly relaxed with quality beverages. Service like none other...

The food at Luthun was delicious, creative, and beautiful. Each course had purpose, the flavors blended perfectly, and simple put, everything just tasted incredible. Along with our dinner, we had the beverage pairing, and it was the perfect complement to an amazing menu. Also noteworthy, and what made our dining experience truly memorable, was the staff. We received individualized service, everyone was so attentive, and the team members we interacted with most were so friendly. With so many amazing dining experiences available in NYC, I struggle to want to repeat venues – however, I can say with certainty that I will return to Luthun. A big thank you to the entire Luthun team for an incredible experience!

Definitely don't miss this amazing tasting menu by a master artist. We love tasting menus but this one blew us away. No idea why it doesn't have a Michelin star, it feels like NYCs best-kept secret. The flavors, the textures, the presentation... Truly stunning. Sit at the chefs table to watch the magic happen.

This is a wonderful experience! Foods are amazingly good. They started with refreshing and Thai & Mexican style starters. Main course-duck breast is cooked perfectly, served with good sauce. Service is lovely. You can feel everyone is proud and enthusiastic with their job. This is truly a gem in NYC.

Amazing, I’m not a foodie but this place is so special I had to write a review. Their tasting meny for 100$ like the most incredible gastronomic journey around the world. One dish more delicious than the other. Would not be surprised if Luthun gets a Michelin Star one day. And the staff is super friendly. The wine pairing for 80$ is incredible. One glass for each dish of the most amazing wines for each dish perfectly paired up. Be careful as it’s a lot of glasses of wine. I almost don’t want to write this review as I think it will be impossible to get a table in the future.

Updated review: I wish I could give Luthun 100 stars instead of just 5! Been 4 times since October and it just keeps getting better with each successive experience! The chef is so passionate about his work, you can feel it in the ambiance! The menu always changes, so now two meals are ever alike. Except in deliciousness, they are always alike on that aspect. Luthun is well on its way to 1 (and deserving of two 2) Michelin stars. And it’s become my favorite restaurant in all of New York City. I recommend sitting by the chefs counter for the maximum delight during dinner — watching the crew at work is in a word: art! Original review: Incredible neighborhood gem! Inventive cuisine on par with Atera, but at 40% the cost. Go before it becomes cool! I did the chefs counter menu with wine pairing and was blown away with the each course better than the last. A masterclass in gastronomic innovation! Favorites were the Trout, Hake, and Duck. Incredible molecular gastronomy going into all the sauces. GO!!!

This my absolute favorite tasting menu meal in the US, hands down. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was perfect. I have never felt more comfortable and welcome in a fine dining establishment. Chefs Nahid Ahmed and Arjuna Bull have created a stellar dining experience, and I expect great things for them in the future!

the play with textures, and temperatures is reason enough to come here. flavors are on another plane you won’t understand… so don’t even try. it’s the kind of meal that inspires you to think about life, existence, love, and the complexity of it all on the walk home.

This is my fav restaurant this year, The chef traveled many places and his dishes are all inspired by different cultures. We got a bit of Indian, Mexican, Italian, Japanese and American, ( I might be missing some) and all the dishes have been very intricate and tasty.

Beautifully presented dishes and ingredients perfectly combined, leaving you with a desire for more. The chef is undoubtedly a mastermind. The only reason I don’t give this place 5 stars is that I didn’t like how uncomfortable the chef made me and my party feel when he started yelling at his employees in front of us.

What an amazing birthday dinner. Got to sit at the chefs counter for this tasting menu. Such a unique menu with amazing drink pairings and choices. The sommelier was amazing working to explain each different wine or drink and truly wanted us to have a terrific experience. The Chef and his team are amazing! We have and will continue to share our praises of the team for an unforgettable experience. Every dish was delicious perfection in taste and presentation

Luthun is an amazing experience and an incredible restaurant. Truly a top-notch culinary journey of a lifetime that masterfully takes you around the world. The food is done to perfection, with each bite always leaving you wanting a little more. I’m not lying, every plate is visually and tastefully astonishing. The Chef and his team are insanely talented, and the level of service makes it feel as if you are eating dinner in your own home. It’s a special place where you get to experience culinary perfection crafted right in front of you. You will enjoy every second.

What an underrated gem. Luthun was of the best meal I’ve had in New York in a while. Not getting the accolades it’s deserves. We loved the open kitchen and wonderful staff. Really creative food and amazing flavors. A journey around the world influenced by the chef’s experiences.

This was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Walking past, you could easily miss this gem. It’s a rather nondescript, lowkey exterior. Once inside, you’re greeted by very friendly waitstaff who continued to be helpful throughout our whole dining experience. From the first bite, we were wowed by the creativity of the dishes. Every course was an explosion of flavor and a real adventure in taste. My favorites were a Beef tendon and scallop dish in a dashi broth and some incredible poached oysters, although truthfully it is very difficult to pick favorites. The wine selection was also superb. The price point for the tasting menu is among the best you will find in NY. We left incredibly impressed and can’t wait to return again! We also had the pleasure of meeting one of the head chefs Nahid and learning the beautiful backstory behind his culinary journey and the restaurant’s name. Highly recommend visiting this place soon and experiencing one of the best meals of your life!

Luthun is a wonderful experience - the staff is attentive and kind, the food is expressive and powerful, and the space is clean and inviting. Nearly all of the dishes had me licking the plate clean. I am shocked I never heard of it but happy I tried. I recommend you do as well.

It was a flavorful tasting menu! However I was underwhelmed by their special dish (3x baked potato) which cost $40 (way too expensive for the cheapest carbs you can get: potatoes) but everything else was delicious. I did feel a little rushed for us to leave towards the end as they were trying to turn over tables- staff asked us 2x how was everything right after we paid the bill (aka code for get out). The dishes were really well plated and creative.

One of my favourites in the city with some of the most interesting dishes I've tried! I've gone twice so far, a couple of months apart, and both times were surprising, delightful, and fun. The service is wonderful and you can feel a sense of friendliness and community from all the staff. Also great wine selections and a sommelier who can recommend something for anyone. Worth coming back over and over!

Phenomenal. The peach and camomile tea crumble.....if you could package that.....you could sell it via the square meter.

A NY hidden gem of Michelin star caliber. The portions are decent sized so you won't leave hungry. Staff is attentive and most importantly , the food is creative and bursting with flavors. The price of the 10-course menu is a steal compared to some Michelin starred restaurants in the city and I don't think they are as good as Luthun. The most exciting food since I moved to the big Apple....

Just WOW. This was my first time dining out alone and I was worried I'd feel awkward, but one thing Luthan does just as great as the food is the CHARISMA! Get a seat at the chefs counter and join the conversations of the staff, they turn a meal into a celebration. As for the food, Chef Arjuna put together the most balanced tasting menu I've ever had. All of the dishes stand on their own, no one dish too similar to another but yet they go together perfectly. This is not a tasting menu you'll leave still wanting a slice of pizza to fill you up. The guests are in great hands with the sommelier Jahdea as well. Don't feel like doing the beverage pairing? He'll craft a beverage journey just for you. Don't drink? There's plenty of non-alcoholic treats to choose from. Can't wait to go back!

Fantastic tasting menu and wonderful team. If you can sit at the chefs counter we highly recommend it. Came here to celebrate my friends engagement and we were blown away by the food and level of service. The 10 course tasting menu is a must for any fine food lover in the city and it’s quite reasonably priced!

What a fantastic meal! Every dish was delicious, service was some of the best ever, and the whole vibe was just very comfortable. Special shout out to Rashi, who was SO friendly and a great general manager! I got the vegetarian menu, which was fantastic (favorites included the hen of the woods mushroom and the chestnuts in a coconut broth). What a great experience, and I look forward to seeing what these chefs do in the future!

Eye opening, creative, exotic, a truly impressive demonstration of modern global cuisine. I could imagine someone tasted their food and decided it would be cool to study culinary art seriously. And the price is very affordable. All of their silverware, plates and bowls are in appropriate temperature for the food served. Not every high end restaurant adheres to this rule so consistently any more, so this has really been a small pleasant detail. Definitely appreciate this experience and would come back again.

Modern space with an exposed kitchen and top-notch dishes, on a rotating menu. Two incredible chefs collaborate on keeping the menu fresh and interesting, and you’ll feel the fusion of different flavors, textures, temperatures and consistencies in every dish. I loved the tasting menu!! I recommend you trust them and go for it, no matter what you normally like. It had a mix of fruity sauces, tangy toppings, squid, cod, duck, oxtail, salmon, some grains, peppers, tomatoes, foamy emulsions and all kinds of interesting formats - some are meant to be 1 big bite, some allow a little experimentation with different dips, some you just have to savor a sip at a time. I loved this experience. Ideal for a date, a foodie outing, birthday, anniversary… It was really nice to be surprised with every course. The menu is being refreshed in a couple of weeks again, so I’ll definitely be going back!!!
