👍 The vibe was easy and great. Food was tasty but a bit salty, I guess that’s the way to make you drink more. My wife and I had a few tapas and enjoyed the meal, but the place is not entirely a tapas bar but more of a drink bar with some light food. Still it’s not bad. Amazing food. So glad we found this place The gigantes with short rib and hazelnuts was fantastic. So was the crispy pork with fish sauce and cucumbers, and the snow pea with cheese, and the ham! What can I say other than this food is so tasty I wrote my first review!!!

Debajo serves fabulously delicious food. The wait staff was amazing. They gave us excellent service and attention. The tapas dishes kept on coming. As quickly as each dish arrived, it was consumed before I even thought to take a photo. The colors, aroma and flavor of every dish met the eye and palate delightfully. I was particularly fond of the Little Gem Salad and the cauliflower dish. Amazing! The only problem with Debajo was the very loud music. It was good music, suitable for the style of the restaurant but it was too loud to carry on conversation. Don't people go out to eat to enjoy good drink and food while sharing about life, joy, and culture? Why loud music has become the norm in American restaurants eludes me. Next time I'll get take out.

Very good food. Definitely try their Patatas Bravas and their Bavette Steak. If you are staying at the hotel or do not want to wait 40 minutes for the steak, call ahead. Overall, very pleasant atmosphere with ambient lighting and friendly staff!

We went here for a small evening snack and drink. For tapas the dishes were bigger than I expected. We got the cauliflower and patatas fritas and they were both delicious. Great for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Friendly service. Overall pleased.

Even though the food was good, the service is really bad. It took 1.5 hours to get our steak. (It was told us that it would take 30min) When the steak was brought, everything else got cold. They asked 2 times if the patatas bravas was brought, they were not able to keep track of what they brought or not. And we were the first guests. These things can happen but they didn’t even say sorry. I’m not sure if it’s worth the price, there are many tapas places in NYC with good quality service.

Wow! Some of the best food I have had in the city! Was looking for a nice place for dinner on a Saturday night, happened to find this place and they were super accommodating without a reservation. Our server, Dulce, was personable and attentive and took such good care of us. We will be coming back, highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing. The duck is a must try along with the carrots and potatoes. I mean the food was so good. Each small plate can easily be shared between 2 people. We got the full duck because we were a party of 6. They provided excellent service. They recommend dish parings and also advised us on what to order due to our party size. The red Sangria was so good. My friend did get a cocktail and it was very well made. The vibe is very relaxed so it was nice to sit back and enjoy ourselves.

Called in on the off-chance to get dinner. Initially good greeting but server got fed up of assisting the Brits (us) asking questions about the menu as he walked off and never came back. The second server was helpful enough. The wine is overpriced at $85 for a mediocre bottle of Californian Cabernet Sauvignon and there is not a lot to choose from on the menu. Shan't bother going back again and so not recommended to others.

Cute, perfectly dim lighting for a tranquil gathering with family and or friends. Very spacious with table seating and bar seating. We ordered a salad and a shrimp dish and a few beers. We were greeted and served in a timely manner.

Tapas food here is good quality, lots of variety and service is fast. However even by NY standards I found this place bit expensive. Be ready to spend about $80-100 per person.

Cute little place for small plates. The cheesecake and the sorbet were amazing. The food is decent,l enjoyed the cod croquettes, charred broccoli but the shishito peppers were okay.

Lovely spot for tapas. Not too crowded. Food was flavorful and tasty. Presentation was clear. The place is tucked away inside a hotel and connected to their outdoor patio/garden. The ambiance was intimate, casual, and welcoming. Service was warm and prompt.

Service was pretty good but the food was alright. My favorite was the cauliflower tapas. It’s located in a basement and the door was kind of hard to open. The music was at a appropriate level

Quick service. Good Tapas. Over priced like most things in midtown to keep up with the high overhead. Cute eating area.

Best tapas place hands down. Try their duck and patatas bravas. Also underground, the setting is amazing.

Had tapas and a jug of red sangria for dinner. Food was phenomenal and service is great. Outdoor seats have heater too, overall great vibes and one of the best meals we had in NYC

Have to say, Debajo is one of my favorite spots in the city. Not only is the food superb but the attention and hospitality is on par with the quality. You basically can’t go wrong. Anything you get is gonna be amazing. However I recommend the shrimp and the chicken sandwich

Outdoor seating is not very outdoors. Service was friendly and helpful, but one dish was forgotten and one drink was not the one we ordered. I love pulpo (grilled octopus) but the one we got here was though and not worth it. The lemongrass gin and tonic is very good!

The atmosphere is fantastic, both on their patio and inside. And the food is some of the best Spanish in the area, which includes Mercado at Hudson Yards. It's easy to miss because it's kind of below ground (hence the name), but don't. A few highlights are the P-C-T (pan con tomate), which a good Spanish place kind of had to get right, and the pulpo, which is amazingly tasty. The drinks are pretty great too and they've got a nice selection of aperitifs.

Food was amazing! This is like tapas 2.0. Some things are what we love and crave (charcuterie and cheeses, gambas), others are surprising and delightful (PCT, cauliflower, pulpo). Portions are generous, so no need to order the whole menu no matter how much you want to. Just make several trips.

The establishment offered a diverse array of Spanish cuisine that showcased the flavors and culinary traditions of the region. Among the various dishes I tried, the standout was undoubtedly the octopus. Cooked to perfection, it was tender, flavorful, and an absolute delight to savor. The restaurant itself exuded a pleasant ambiance, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. The service provided by the staff was commendable, as they were attentive and accommodating. However, there was one area where the experience fell slightly short: the speed at which the food was served. The dishes took longer than expected to arrive at the table, and although the service was good overall, a quicker turnaround time would have enhanced the dining experience. While some of the dishes fell into the realm of average, there were several standout options that showcased the culinary expertise of the restaurant. It's worth noting that the desserts, unfortunately, proved to be a letdown, failing to leave a lasting impression. Despite this, the overall quality of the food, combined with the pleasant ambiance and attentive service, makes this establishment a worthwhile visit. In conclusion, I would wholeheartedly recommend this Spanish restaurant to those seeking a delightful dining experience. While there were minor shortcomings such as slow food service and underwhelming desserts, the standout dishes and the overall quality of the cuisine make it a destination worth exploring. So, come and indulge in the flavors of Spain, and let the restaurant transport you to a culinary journey that will leave you with fond memories of your visit.

Amazing spot. Booked last minute for 2. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Knew the menu and answered all my questions. All the food was fantastic! The cheesecake and chocolate lava worked amazing together.

Cute little place down from street level. Open concept kitchen and have bar seats. It was fun to see the chefs prepare the foods. Overall experience was good. Lots of choices to choose from and not only tapas either. Favorite was the Bistec. Cooked just right and was basically able to watch them cook it. Tender and juicy, just enough salt and it came with garlic confit. Smear it on each piece, pop of flavor if you are a garlic lover. Pictures: P-C-T: toasted bread, tomato, garlic, arbequina olive oil Txistos: crispy chistorra sausage roll, salsa Rosa Coliflor: friends cauliflower, anchovy, garlic, breadcrumbs Pulpo: octopus, fennel, citrus, chorizo vinaigrette Bistec: 45 day dry aged NY strip, broccolini, mushrooms, serrano vinaigrette, garlic confit
