I don’t like UES American eateries. I feel they’re like basic white girls. They look pretty and inviting at first. Then you find out they’re bland and definitely not worth writing back home about. The biscuits in Chez Nick are worth calling your estranged mom about.

Had a wonderful time visiting Chez Nick with my mom and aunt - the drinks were spectacular, the food was delicious and the service was on point. We loved sitting outside and enjoying a bite with a view.

Stopped in to Chez Nick's for dinner after a long day and was very pleasantly surprised by a wonderful meal. I started with a very refreshing cocktail (pictured), called "The Show Goes On." Started off with an Elote appetizer which was three mini pieces of corn-on-the-cob (pictured), which was quite tasty. My entree was Lobster Mafaldine Scampi. I truly have never had anything quite like this dish before. There was an ample portion of lobster in this dish with the mafalde and a generous portion of heat (spice) throughout, which was both unexpected and appreciated! Loved this dish. Finished with the Chocolate Chip Cookies dessert, two amazing chocolate cookies served with a small glass of cold milk, a perfect finish to a great meal. Would highly recommend!

Came for brunch on Sat and was very satisfied with my meal. We shared the ricotta toast to start, the spiced honey was perfect. I got the breakfast sandwich for my meal which was outstanding. My one gripe is that my cold brew was so small! Felt like it was 5 sips total.

This is a hidden gem on the Upper East Side. The quality of food, drinks and service here can rival most hot spots downtown - yet a rare example of a place that would be worth a visitor's time to come check out the neighborhood! Pictured here is a cavatelli pasta dish with a duck ragout. Only reason for a star deduction is my need to come back to try other dishes- and maybe for the sort-of distracting music selection that didn't quite fit this spot. But I'll be back, and if MJ is also playing next time, I might even break out the Beat It video dance moves. 🤷‍♂️

I came here with coworkers and could not have been more pleased with dinner. I got the half Amish chicken, which was incredible. The chicken was tender with a crisp skin. And the veggies all had tons of flavor. The restaurant was nicely decorated but still comfortable to show up to in everyday clothes.

We were pleasantly surprised at how much we loved Chez Nick. It had the perfect combination of a family friendly, relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. Good vegetarian and vegan options, plus mocktails! And the food was fantastic. My husband said it was the best Brussels sprouts he’s ever had. Both our entrees had tons of flavor and lots of variety in texture, which is rare for a vegan bowl and a pasta dish. This is such a small criticism, but my mocktail had slightly too much of a lingering balsamic taste. Otherwise we were super happy and will definitely be coming back.

I am not a regular at Chez Nick, but I did find a very comforting meal there on a rainy February night. This restaurant is worthy of its good reviews. Really attentive waiters and staff, excellent menu with fresh food, a warm environment. It is a pricey upper east side locale with all that comes with that location. Not a diverse crowd but as Jackie from “Risky Business” would say “its what you want, its what every white boy off the lake wants.”

UES gem. Tried the burger for my first visit and was very pleased with it. Drinks were perfect and honestly I can tell by the vinaigrette that the other dishes are going to impress me as well. I’ll definitely be back to try more things on the menu. This is going on my UES shortlist!!

After seeing this place change names a couple times I decided to pop in and see what all the hype was about. I was not disappointed. We started with the ricotta and chicken liver mousse which were both very tasty. For the main course we ordered the crab salad special, one hamburger and one cheeseburger. All the main courses were extremely delicious and well above average.

The salad was quite good but the chicken liver was a disappointment. The contents of the glass jar had a very strange taste, nothing like chicken liver. I think there is too little liver and too many other ingredients. I expected more from this place.

Excellent food, but mediocre service. I just dined at this restaurant. I have been before for brunch, and the food's great. However, tonight the service was poor. They charge $14 for “5 oz” of wine that looked more like 3 oz to me. The waiter spoke so inaudible that it was so difficult to understand. She was pushy for us to order appetizers, which we rejected three times, but we asked for bread instead. At first, she brought one plate with four pieces of bread when we were six at the table. We then asked her for another plate. They charged us for every plate of bread. When we asked for the check, they automatically charged us a 20% tip with a list of suggestions to increase the tip amount. 20% should not be the standard for a party of six people, especially when the service is so bad. I won’t be going back.

Disappointed with the small serving of salmon at dinner. A sign of the times? Other side dishes were covered in heavily flavored sauces. Lots of foot traffic at dinner if you're interested to people watch.

Lemongrass Pork Steak is beyond superior. A comparable wine list and beautiful friendly service. The parm fries are delicious as well. A MUST if you are in UES NYC.

Came here today with friends who have been here before. I’m visiting and this was my first time. Food and drinks excellent. Service was fantastic. Everyone was super nice and our server Kamel was excellent- so friendly.

This was our second the time. We were here for brunch with couple of friends on a Sunday. The place was not very busy around 11:30, by 12:30 it got so busy, the restaurant still felt very spacious. Food was delicious and service was fast. The chilaquiles was very tasty, their Bloody Mary is also pretty good

We visited Chez Nick while on vacation, as it was within walking distance of our Upper East Side hotel, and what a gem it was! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed with what appeared to be many regular locals. The staff was kind, the cocktails were delicious, and the food was a delight. I had the burger, which was probably the best I've ever had (the homemade pickles and special sauce put it over the top)!

I’ve been to over 100 restaurants in NYC and this is clearly one of the best! Everything on the seasonal menu is amazing. Each dish (and cocktails) has these few elements and ingredients that just take it a step further, surprising you and making it even more delicious. At the same time, they keep a relaxed neighbourhood vibe making it perfect for a dinner with friends or family. Also, ask for their specials as they never disappoint, be it a Pizza Margherita inspired cocktail or garlicky Parker House rolls. Overall, Chez Nick is a must visit when in town!

Have lived in the neighborhood for years but only just bothered to stop into Chez Nick for brunch. What a missed opportunity on my part! The meal (biscuit breakfast sandwich) was amazing as was the specialty cocktail of the day. Restaurant is beautiful, the outdoor dining set up is sturdy and well decorated. The staff is all friendly and I will make a point to come back soon.

What a wonderful evening we had! Even as a tourist, a night at Chez Nick makes you feel like a local. The food was outstanding, only to be surpassed by the service. Thank you for a great night!

Everything is amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything. The atmosphere, staff, food, drinks all great! A must try place in UES. Some highlights are cavatelli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, ricotta, burger, bronzino, mr. Fig drink and nick’s sour

My wife and I came to Chez Nick last night and were blown away by the quality of food we had. We had the crab cake for an appetizer and then the branzino and lemongrass pork steak for our entrees. We were super impressed by everything that we ate and will definitely be back. A true UES gem that is different from the rest of our normal go to spots in the neighborhood.

Had a great lunch here. Last minute find as we were staying around the corner for a quick get away. Everyone on the staff was friendly and outgoing. The bartender from Mexico City (sorry, I forget your name!) was delightful. Ricotta toast was a great starter and both the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and the Burger were DELICIOUS! Would definitely visit again when we are on Upper East Side.

Food was good biscuits were a bit thick and greasy. I didn't see masks other than the bus boy.

I want to love this place as there aren't many like it - especially around Yorkville, however it's just not up to the Standard of places like Gray Hawk Grill and even Bondurants. The kids Mac and Cheese is really good - let me start there, but the burger (and the duck I had last time) aren't up to scratch. If someone asks you how you want your burger cooked then just does it well done anyway that is the worst for me. Why bother asking??? Drinks are also very stingy and more suited for my kids than a thirsty Brit. Still the place is worth a visit

All in all a nice place. We’ve been there on a Tuesday night. Food: Skirt steak was tasty and cooked the way I ordered it. Sides were okay. Overall, the portion (especially the sides) felt rather small for what I paid. Service: Friendly and quick. Provided helpful recommendations. Atmosphere: Cozy neighborhood place/bistro atmosphere, with just the right amount of space between the tables. Unfortunately, the music was too loud.

My wife chose this restaurant out of my list of 4.7+>100 Reviews lists for New York and it definitely did not disappoint. Everything on this menu looked awesome but we tried the burger and the lemongrass pork steak. Both were delicious, but the absolute best thing about this restaurant is the value. The prices look a bit daunting but the value is great! I highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious yet relatively inexpensive meal in an excellent atmosphere with impeccable service.

What a gem! Last year, I received a gift certificate to Chez Nick, but never got around to using it. I am sorry I waited. The food is GREAT! The staff is FRIENDLY!!! The atmosphere is really nice CHILL!!! I had steak on top of a corn and pepper mixture. The sauce was a wonder! For dessert, I had olive oil cake with a fruit concoction! The waiter suggested I get the chocolate chip cookie the next time. "It comes with a glass of milk for dipping!" How cute is that. Everything was so good that I didn't want to brush my teeth when I got home!!!! I had such a nice all-around experience at Chez Nick, and am already planning my next visit!

Chez Nick has never disappointed. 3/3 times we've had wonderful food and experiences here. They have seasonal menus which is always nice. "Like a much, much more affordable version of Blue Hill Farm" - my wife.

Overall a nice experience. The four of us sat in the outdoor dining area, and had a wonderful meal. The service was great. They didn't rush us and was very courteous and professional. The food was pretty good, too. I did wish my lamb ragu pappardelle had more lamb. It was also weird that the velvet tiramisu was really not a tiramisu but more like a velvet sponge cake with a gooey chocolate center topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. But overall, a pretty good meal. Worth a visit.

Wow! This place is amazing - wish we would have found it sooner! My husband and I read about this restaurant and decided to go here for brunch. Everything that we ordered was THE BEST THING we have ever tasted! We decided to go back for dinner tonight - not as strong as brunch but still very good. Think they were a bit short staffed. The ricotta is a 10/10!

Great waitress, good quality food & reasonable prices! It is a gem in this neighborhood!

The experience was horrible. First off, the space has the worst noise issue ever! It was impossible to have a decent conversation! A huge turn off for me. Don't expect to have a nice and relaxing dinner if you are sitting inside the restaurant. You may have to constantly ask your partner to raise the voice so you can hear him or her. The second is the wait time. We had to wait almost 40min to have our food served. This was perplexing because the restaurant wasn't too busy. The third is the hygiene issue. The 'supposedly' clean unused fork had distinct fishy smell and I had to return it for another one. Overall, very unpleasant experience and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!
