I’ve gotten my jewelry here for years and it was once a great experience. But after my visit on 2/8 this place has completely changed and lost a customer. We weren’t greeted and were treated like as if we didn’t know anything about jewelry and seemed like they were trynna take advantage of me and my girlfriend. The lady assisting us was RUDE the entire time. We were given a price tag of over 900 bucks for a less than 10g 14k gold bracelet. We asked to see the weight she refused and was given an estimate. We shared our opinion yet we weren’t able to negotiate yet only given more rudeness. After not being satisfied she rudely walked away and failed to assist us with looking at other options. Honestly really disappointed to see a once good jewelry store do downhill with my personal experience. People know the price of gold, people know that labor charge is included. People know that a profit has to be made. But to be completely dishonest and fail to at least negotiate was a big failure on the companies part. I went to the store right next to them “SANG SANG JEWELRY” and was greeted nicely. Treated with Respect and cared about the items I was seeking to buy. We left happy with a solid 14k gold bracelet 14grams for a bit over 600 which is great deal friendly service and no rudeness . So anyone reading this suggest taking your service to them.

Purchased 14k 48MM ANKH cross online, i was blown away at the presentation of the package when it arrived, they hooked me up with a shopping bag as if i walked out the store with my purchase... i was shopping around online and found their prices were great! wish i would've known of them before buying my chain, i have a flat curb that i bought from JACOJE, no complaints tho both the chain and the pendant being 14k go great together! This use to be my favorite jewelry store until today, i bought a 14k with 48 grams franco gold chain about 2 years ago for $1500, back then 14k used to cost $30 per gram, i was told that i can always come back if I wanted to upgrade my chain and wouldn’t lose any money. Today I decided to go back for another chain that weighted 80 grams, they told me that the value of the gold went up to $38 per grams which I understand. So i ask her how much do i need to pay to upgrade, giving my 50 grams chain back? And you won’t believe the answer that they gave me: ($3,200) i was like what? Im giving you my chain that I already paid $1,500 and still have to pay $3,200? I couldn’t believe it, because if you do the math that chain by it self cost 80 grams x $38 = $3,040, unreal man. So i ask her if i was giving them my chain for free and her answer was that my chain lost value, knowing that my chain looks brand new and was in perfect condition. Before going there I called and ask to make sure if i can still do the trade and they said yes to bring the receipt which i did. I was supposed to be paying only for the difference, which was 30 grams= $1140 they wanted me to pay $3,200 witch is ridiculous, more then what the chain cost if i buy it without giving mine, i will never go back there or recommend to any friends, I bought 2 chains and one necklace for my wife there before and they will never see me or anyone i know again. Came by Popular Jewelry back in Sep'22 in the evening on a Wednesday. Was looking for a silver chain. Ana was the one who was helping me out. I told her what I was looking for and she pulled out 5-6 different chains in different lengths for me to try out. She was patient in helping me find the right one. The price at first was very high. Asked for the lowest price and went a few times back and forth to an agreeable price. At that time, there were a few other people looking through the shop. There is not much air flow in the store, so I was sweating up a storm haha. Saw A$AP Eva in the back and asked to take a picture and she was super friendly :) The shop is right off the subway, so easy to get to.

dont be fooled by the celebrity pictures. This place has fake gold and inaccurate diamond weights. I wanted to exchange within 7 days a necklace that didn’t fit me right for a better fit and they offered me way less money than I payed for a few days before . Diamonds here are lab diamonds and 10k gold stamped as 14k. Crooks. Stay away

I originally was not going to post about my experience with them but now I am upset with my purchase. I bought a pendent off their website that didn't state that it wasn't in stock. I ordered this September fourth and on September 8 they sent me an email saying that I can pick something similar or get a refund. This was a gift; so I wanted what I purchased and they said it would take THREE WEEKS. During these three weeks I had to call and re- email them to see where my order was. This wouldn't have been a problem if they would have originally told me it would take TWO MONTHS to get my order. I finally received a confirmation that my order was ready for pick up in NOVEMBER. I originally ordered it online but was scared I would have to deal with the post office if my order got lost. So I told them id stop by Instead. This was all such a hassle. NOW fast forward to today I look at the pendent (that my partner never took off) and the symbol has fallen off the necklace!????!!! For a place that's so expensive why is the symbol falling off the necklace?? Needless to say I will NEVER purchase from this place again, you can find better jewelry elsewhere.

Absolutely love my custom made pendant and chain from Popular Jewelry and Lucky Diamond. They run both stores and I had the pleasure of speaking with Eva and a lady there. Had so much fun picking up a chain to go with the pendant, they gave me good deals with excellent quality, everyone were very helpful. Will definitely go back to get more for a staggered set. I bought a “jade” ring here and I asked the woman helping me 3 times if it was real jade. She said yes. I purposely bought it a bit loose because I am sensitive to all jewelry. It fell off of my finger while in my bathroom. It BROKE IN HALF even though it fell softly onto the floor.

Don't buy anything from here$65 a gram for 14k is highway robbery. They said something about I need a "wholesale license to get it for cheaper" 😂 I dont know who these clowns think they are fooling. GO TO THE DIAMOND DISTRICT IN MIDTOWN! Stay away from Canal st. Nothing but thieves

I recently made my fourth purchase at popular jewelry and I was very disappointed. every time I go back I have to work with a different person and the young girls are aggressive And desperate to make a sale that the experience is an unpleasant one. I bought a 14k gold bracelet with a custom name plate also in 14k. That’s what I ordered and paid for but when I brought to home it was a much lighter color than all of my other gold jewelry I purchased there. Also I really didn’t like the name plate. It was so small it’s barely noticeable and the bracelet itself was too big on my wrist. When I ordered it I had the girl measure the bracelet and I told her I didn’t want it to fit so loose. I went over this multiple times. I can’t even wear it and I spent so much on it. I also paid extra for a thicker nameplate that wouldn’t bend and the plate I got was so cheaply made. And the bracelet had holes in the link and was hollow inside. I definitely overpaid for everything. I’m very upset about this. These people are so aggressive to make a sale and move on to the next person that they don’t pay any attention to what you’re telling them. When I picked it up the girl barely let me look at it. Like I wasn’t paying for it. I wasn’t even given the chance to properly inspect it. I’m very disappointed and will be taking my business somewhere else. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Especially because I go out of my way to go to this specific location expecting over the top jewelry and this is what I get.

I’m from Texas and I seen what I possibly wanted on their website. I called the shop and spoke with Will. He sent me picture messages of the chains I was interested in with the pendents I was considering until I found the right ones. He sent an invoice Wednesday. I paid. And it was around my neck on Friday. The package included. My items in a jewelry box, the receipt, a nice Asian inspired carrying pouch and they sent me a bag from the store lol. 5 star jewelry 5 star service.

I have never been more insulted than I have been in my life coming into this store. I was almost charged 300 bucks for a tiny little metro-card pendant, and asked why it was so much. The only explanation I got was that the engraving was detailed that’s why. It’s a mad house and the people working there are not about social distancing at all.

Bought some pieces of jewelry from this shop from one of the workers named Ana and paid about $600 in total. They cut one of the bracelet to my size and a week later it broke from the piece they linked it together from the sizing. When I tried to come to talk to one of them about what had happened with the receipt on hand, they tried to charge me more to fix. I called before coming and explained what had happened and they told me to come In and they’ll fix it ( which they tried charging me extra when I came in). Never shopping here for jewelry again!

I love this place! I’ve visited once in person in 2018 and order from them online since i’m from Houston. They respond in a timely manner and I got a custom name plate necklace made with them. Fast turnaround time and excellent communication. I am a very happy customer and I definitely recommend to shop with them. Recently ordered some earrings and they came within a week and look beautiful!

Bought a Cuban from here didn’t even last a year before it broke. Came in to get it fixed and they immediately quoted 2x higher than what they said on Instagram to fix it. Said it would be ready in one hour that was a lie I waited an extra 30 minutes in the shop. Would not recommend this place and if you do make sure to go low on the price or you are getting ripped off.

This used to be a good jewelry store but my last encounter was very weird. I went in to get my chain fixed that I bought from Them that had broken for the second time for the salesperson to tell me it would continue to break because its hallow …. ( again bought it from them) then she continued to try to sell me something else for 3x the price. Each time i said no she brought the price down. After finally saying seriously no… she charged me 3 times the price i paid last time to fix my chain. Needless to say Ill never be back here.

I came here in the summer of 2019 to get some grills done, i got 4 caps done, 2 top, 2 bottom and they told me the total came out to $820 dollars. I was naive at the time cause it was my first pair and i was young, none the less i paid for them but soon after realized that the price for not even a full set of grill was outrageous, ive had 5 pairs of grills done in the time since ive had those and none of them costed as much as the one i was sold here. Please do not come here go get your grills

Bought some custom necklaces off of a cheap Etsy shop; one of them broke literally within minutes of opening the packaging. The pieces were super special to me so in frustration, I immediately ran over to Popular Jewelry to have them both redone (even though only one broke). They had them ready within one week and I was so impressed by the difference in quality! They were sparkling in comparison to the other ones I ordered and compared to other jewelry I've owned in general. Super pleased with my experience here.

Contacted this shop to buy a rose gold Cuban ring, I didn’t know at the time that I was speaking to Eva(store owner). I asked multiple times to send me a picture before I drive on out 2 hours to her(never did send a picture) she says the ring she has is $680 then as I’m along the way to the shop she texts me no it’s actually $850 , Then I get into the shop and another girl whips out a calculator and says the ring cost $980 and then later dropped it back down to $840. THESE PEOPLE ARE A JOKE. They whip prices out of their **** . Will not be coming back again.

Bought portrait medallion and chain , medallion shipped broken and since then had to ship back at least 2 times cubic chips keep falling out!!! Requested another medallion w/o cubic chips let’s see what happens! Have been told all sales are final but not my fault chips keep falling out!

I went a couple years ago and I was trading in my jewelry to get new ones. My grills I got from weren’t SI diamonds. They were moissanite and the earrings I bought. The gold wasn’t fully 14k gold. It was 12k. I really liked the store but I was so upset when I found out cause I paid a decent amount.

I’ve been coming to see Popular Jewelry and buying from this store for years. I’ve always promoted them and said they’re the best shop in town. After I brought in a gem to be placed on a bracelet, I got a price point and honestly just blindly trusted that I was getting the best deal after years of patronage. This sales person was Lisa. I would NOT shop here after my last interaction, I felt pressured to buy something I did not feel was the right price and after a lot of persuading, I purchased it. I regretted it immediately and after they called me to pick up my item I explained how I checked with a friend who works in gold, if I overpaid and they were like easily $200 overpaid for what I received. It’s not good business to treat routine customers this way. After I said I don’t feel good about what I paid, she tried to hassle me again. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere after 9 years of visiting Popular Jewelry and Eva.

My husband and I got custom wedding rings done here in 2017. I can't recommend them enough. The process of design was fun and easy for us. The prices are reasonable too.

They will take the time with you and let you look at all the styles you want (unlike other places that get aggravated after your looking for more than 5 minutes) prices are pretty reasonable and you can often negotiate. They also fix jewelry for a good price, got my solid gold bracelet clasp fixed and gold ring resized for $30.

I moved from New York to Virginia over 20 years ago, but every time I come home to visit friends and family, I come in and purchase something. Thley've always been willing to negotiate on price. More recently, I chose to ask for custom-made jewelry. First, I had diamond studs made for me. 1.5 karat total weight. I was able to specify the quality of the diamonds. Beautiful work. My next purchase was a custom-made name plate with both my name and my husband's name. My husband had recently passed away, and I had a gold tear drop filled with his ashes. I also had my own chain. They created the name, added the teardrop, and used my own chain. I wear this every day. I saw a pair of diamond hoop earrings that I loved in Virginia. but they were lab created diamonds. I asked them to recreate these earrings with high-quality diamonds. The entire process was done by text messages with Kevin. First, they drew a picture of the earrings. We decided on the size of the hoop , the quality of the diamonds, and the closing clasp. I was involved every step of the way without ever stepping in the store. The results were perfection! Seven diamonds per hoop excellent quality totaling 2.5 karats. The pricing of all of my custom-made jewelry was fair. The pictures I am attaching do not do justice to the perfection of the diamonds. This is my jeweler for life! They have beautiful golden and diamonds in stock. But I absolutely recommend that if you have someone special in your life or just want to treat yourself to something unique, Popular Jewelry can create anything you could possibly imagine! I honestly came here to window shop . I was gonna order off an online site , but after deciding on the size, Maria was willing to work with me on a fair price . I left with a 6mm Cuban and proceeded to the SanGennaro festival rocking my new chain. Very happy with the service and will continue to shop here .

Went here for the first time recently. It was a really cool experience. You see a wall full of celebrities who have shopped there when you first walk in, and they have a huge selection of jewelry to choose from. The associate who helped me was amazing- she was extremely accommodating and was patient while I took my time deciding on what to buy. My family was helped by other associates and they said they had a pleasant experience as well. We all walked out extremely satisfied with our purchases. I inherited some rings from my grandmother and went in to get them cleaned. The ladies there quoted me $250????? For TWO ring cleanings. Not sure if you have to buy something from them to get a decent deal here. I definitely expected to pay but not that much. I also had a charm they quoted me $50 to polish. Insane. She refused to size the rings for me. I’d honestly never go here and suggest you find somewhere else in the area.
