We found Soho Gem just from walking around the neighborhood and my fiancé and I had such a great experience with Winona (the owner and a gemologist) - we shopped around a bit to be sure just because we were new to this sort of thing but Winona is the best!!! She helped us incorporate a pair of earrings I had into an engagement ring as the side stones and sourced a diamond for the middle stone for us. She taught us so much about diamonds and was so courteous of our budget and design requests. We'll definitely be going there for our wedding bands! My ring is absolutely GORGEOUS and I can't recommend Soho Gem enough.

I knew I did not want a diamond engagement ring, so most of my friends were useless in finding a jeweler. Thankfully, after reading hundreds of online reviews and visiting a few stores, I settled on Soho Gem. Winona was incredible throughout the engagement ring buying process. As this was my first time buying a major piece of jewelry, her knowledge and handholding fully alleviated the stress I held going into the experience. She clearly outlined all my options and spent the time educating and showing me not just what was available in the store, but also gave me ideas on what their jewelers could create custom (which is pretty much anything). Her advice on sizing, setting, and everything else was invaluable. Finding the right emerald took some time as I was picky and kept asking to see more options, but Winona was patient throughout and we eventually found the color and clarity I knew my SO wanted. Their jewelers were able to perfectly cut down the stone and created the (what I think is timeless) ring in the attached photos for us. The final price was very reasonable and we went back to Winona for our wedding bands as well.

I was recommended SohoGem by a friend who recently got engaged and was very excited to check them out after hearing the success he had there. I walked in with a very loose idea of what I was doing and a lot of anxiety. Winona quickly saw the look on my face and walked me through everything I needed to know about picking a ring and making my planned proposal exactly what I wanted it to be. I had a quick turnaround time I was working with and Winona not only came in with a gameplan to get me there, but worked to create a custom ring within that time frame. Through this process she was incredibly transparent and flexible - even offering to express ship me the ring to the place we would be staying at so I could pull off the proposal in time. Even despite the potential of needing to ship it, Winona and her team pulled off making a custom engagement ring right on time, and within a month of first walking in I was engaged and my fiancee was in love with her ring. Winona continued to provided support through insurance and care recommendations and I am so grateful for everything she was able to do. I was looking for a unique engagement ring and soho gem came up as a suggested place to check out.They have absolutely beautiful colored gemstones, sapphires, emeralds, rubies and more (also have traditional diamond rings too). Our sales consultant Marina was so patient even though I was gushing over all the rings and asking to try them all on. Everything is customizable, their stones are mostly GIA certified which is great and Marina was really knowledgeable in explaining differences in quality and gemstone attributes. You can also order in specific stones if they don't have them on hand. I really appreciated her insights. We had multiple visits there and she was always patient, helpful and not pushy at all. Would definitely recommend. You can do a walk in but I'd recommend an appointment if you're going on the weekend!

From the moment we walked in to when the ring was ready to be picked up, our experience with Soho Gem was nothing short of amazing. I never leave reviews (really, never), but I had to swing by to sing Winona’s praises (and everyone who works there - they’re all fab). I had a ring that was poorly made and broke, snagging on a dress. She suspected it wasn’t in fact 14k white gold, so she offered to test it, which she did twice, to be sure. This was all out of generosity and because she’s a nice, lovely person. Also she was right. And because she was so amazing, we decided we had to work with her in remaking the ring, which is so perfect, and much better than the original. I get compliments all the time, and have sent many people to Soho Gem. Winona has great taste, so much knowledge, and is a fantastic collaborator. I only wish multiple engagement rings were a thing, so we could work on more together.
