I was born here, kept coming back here whenever I got injured. Best hospital and staff in the world. Especially during Covid-19 they are very strict. Appointment needed for anything, very sanitized, you actually feel safe. God bless the staff and team.

We had our baby here in spring 2021. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences of my life when it should have been the happiest. The facilities were dated and uncomfortable. I expected NYU to be modern and cutting edge; but when you actually get the maternity ward is was such a let down because the other more visible areas of the hospital are so nice. We waited so much - waiting to get admitted, waiting for a birthing room, waiting to get a recovery room after delivery. We ended having an emergency c-section, which nobody during all those many prenatal visits prepared me for. The operation was fast and efficient, but omg so not those calm and magical vibes I was hoping for in a delivery. The hospital could not offer me a private recovery although I was more than happy to pay for it, but we never made it off the the first come first serve waitlist. With a c-section and over 30 hours of failed induction (days in the hospital), I got crammed into a tiny and very uncomfortable shared recovery room. I could not sleep 1 minute those many days because the hospital beds hurt my back so much. Imagine giving birth and no sleep at all for over 3 days. All the stress and sleep deprivation made breastfeeding so difficult. This is NYC and one of the “best hospitals” in the world? What a travesty. Maternal and fetal care failure. I get so sad even thinking about it.

This hospital is a factory. There were very few caring individuals during my father’s three month long stay here. It is difficult to speak with a provider when you have questions and their plan of treatment changes with every attending. The social workers and case managers constantly rotated so there was little consistency; none of them advocated for my father. Same for the internists except for maybe two. I constantly had to be on them and had to chase down information as to his progress. The rooms were dirty and I had to regularly wipe down his shared space. My father caught COVID here as well as a dangerous fungus. The nurses were the only ones who cared, but they were often stretched thin and overworked. I do not recommend this hospital.

Delivered my baby boy here. My doctors and nurses were awesome!! But the facility is so lacking and just dirty. Photos are a bit decieving and while they've redone the lobby, it feels like they slapped lipstick on a pig. The delivery / OB floor rooms have not been updated since the 70s. The sinks have stains, the floor does and overall just run down. Wish I had checked it out before coming, would not recommend on delivering here especially with what they charge your insurance.

I delivered my baby on 11/13/2021. My entire experience was amazing. I arrived on 11/12 as my water broke so was taken into delivery room. It was spacious with private restroom and was very hygienic. I was first welcomed by one of the nurse who handed over my personal hygiene material i.e. tooth brush/ tooth paste/ mouth wash/ lotion etc. later a personal nurse was assigned to me to cater all my needs. She took my history even asked for meal preferences i.e halal or kosher. I was quite impressed about how they want to cater their patients in the most detailed manner. The nurses kept changing but they were well informed for my details by the previous nurse so I don’t have repeat my self about anything. Since 4:00PM afternoon up-till 8:00AM next morning I saw a total of 3 nurses. Each one of them helped to their maximum capacity till my little angel arrived at 7:39AM. Their services ranged from drips/medicines/massages/guiding through birthing necessities and general talk like literally anything that could provide me any sort of comfort. In delivery room I was allowed with two support persons of my choice in my case it was my husband and mother . After delivery I was shifted to recovery room which was small and was to be shared with one more family with a curtain as separator. In recovery room I was allowed with one support person. Meals were served three times a day which I could order of my choice via IPad in room. They have good eating options and food tastes good keeping into account your preferences. The nurses there were also helpful and helped myself in carrying myself independently. In recovery room the restroom was shared by us and the other family. I was served at the comfort of my home. I must say excellent hospital with best staff.

While having the best doctors they have the worst services. The front desk clerks at Kimmel Pavilion are so rude and very innapropriate. They treat the visitors like animals

The hospital is a good facility. I'll have to give credit to most of the nurse here. Except for one Male nurse here during my visit. I was kindly asking for box of tissue and this Male nurse was having an attitude towards me. It wasn't a hard request from him. That made me feel that I waste his time on his duty. Getting items for the patients is part of his duties. If he is the nurse manager I will definitely report it to his supervisor. This three stars is his rating only.

I had a procedure that was supposed to include sedation. I was NOT sedated. I am filing complaints with the hospital, my insurance and the NYS dept of Health. I have never had such a frightening and unbelievably horrible experience as this and am shocked by it. Prior to the procedure a nurse stuck an IV into my arm with such force I bled --and when I respectfully asked for it to be put in the opposite arm I felt as if I were being stabbed a second time and, but grateful to see less blood. I never imagined in my life that I would ever experience a procedure that was supposed to be sedated and end up fully alert oriented and IN PAIN. I would not recommend for anyone to go here. I am truly concerned by the ...i can't even say the word "care" because I am shocked and overwhelmed that this is a facility, a hospital that is renowned and supposed to ethically treat people. ?

Came here for post-covid symptoms and got charged $1,000 for an endoscope + ear inspection. Wish they had given me a heads-up about the price as I won't have done it if I had known about the cost in advance.

Very rude the security . Noone was in the front to check in visitors and waited for over an hour. All I had to do was pick my mom up from recovery . I don't know why 4 security people there to check people . All they do is just sit or stand and stare at each other and gossip. The hospital need to a organize and show more courtesy towards people

Worst experience ever! My fiancé had his toes amputated 2 months ago, let him leave the hospital two days after without antibiotics send him home, doesn’t have a follow up till weeks after because dr James Johnson was on vacation! wounds up getting a bone infection and now on iv antibiotics. Has to be on iv antibiotics for 6 weeks. He has been there for 1 month now with no improvement X-ray scans and mri scans cant determine if he has an infection or not, so NOW HAS TO DO AN INDIUM BONE SCAN! I really believe this is a ploy to stick their hand in the cookie jar from the insurance company milking his stay slowly trying to get him better. But nothing is working United States of the greed, I wish there is better care

I am a parent and I speak Bangali and English. My child Rayhan Bari Ahmed has been diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. On October 4, 2023 an accident took place front of District 75 school, located 400 1st Ave. My son was punched in the stomach by a black person and I called the police and ambulance immediately. Bystander people watched my son crying and touching his stomach. An unknown establishment unit squad has been harassing and targeting my child for a very long time by the government workers who feel they entitle to my child’s body and his position. On October 4th my son Rayhan Bari Ahmed was admitted to the emergency and the medical staff members and NYU Langone Health Security officers held my son Rayhan Ahmed hostage for many days due to political reason. The hospital quietly standard did not provide the comfort or did not meet Medical Attestation Form. This form literally restricted and did not validated my son future needs in the hospital. I observed social worker Kendera and patient access who controlled policies and did not ensure my child will go home with me. My son safety was being controlled by the NYU Langone Health brand and existing future policy that psychologically impacted my child and I. My son Rayhan Bari Ahmed did not come with me and I don’t have no idea where my child is currently is living or his status. I was forced and social worker used ACS and mental hygiene to take my son away from me. This corruption NYU Langone Heath has utilized for a long time and my child had no choice other then stay in the hospital with strangers he did not know. As a parent I observed faculty members from NYU Langone Health where in favor and they happen to continue to work in the hospital for the same employee. I was forced to leave by the police officers who showed up from different precinct and did not have their camera on. NYU Langone Health officers have contract with the institution does not give the patient or the parent guarantee safety from the medical staff members. Overall, doctors found a way to betray languages and carry health benefit as product, furthermore it did not protect “Bill of Patent Right”. Therefore, robust employee has manipulated the system by hijacking the system to enhance pediatric association. The physician do not get audited or viewed by any other parties, but the board members allow them to practice this type of behavior towards the patients and the parent. I am very unhappy and my son was forced to be with with someone else other then me. The NYU Langone Health facultyy members should be fire from their position!

The nurses Peter and Clarissa Thank-You you both for your patience. I am not forgetting Claudette the nurse before surgery. I hope that is your name please forgive me if I made a mistake. . Dr.Patel has an awesome team.NYU thank you all for making my mom's stay comfortable, and most importantly thank you for treating her like a person and special. While I appreciate the medical attention provided during the procedure, I must bring to your attention the discomfort and mistreatment I have experienced post-surgery. The bed provided for my recovery has proven to be extremely uncomfortable, and despite my attempts to address this concern, I have spent nearly 12 hours enduring unnecessary discomfort. Given my age and medical condition, I expected a higher standard of care and a more compassionate approach to my recovery. It is disheartening to feel neglected during such a vulnerable time.

I searched for “best hospital in NYC” because I always hear horrible things about them and I don’t know why this hospital came up. I didn’t even get to the hospital before having a bad experience. I simply called because my boyfriend was having a bad pain in his head and this lady picked up with a nasty attitude. I asked her if there was a long wait to be seen and she transferred me to the emergency room where the man who picked up did not even let me finish my question and yelled “WE DONT GIVE OUT WAIT TIMES” Clearly, if you’re working in the emergency room, you can see more or less if there is a lot of people and you can give some type of estimate. Even a simple “there is not too many people right now but that came change, we can’t give an approximate time” would have sufficed. Both representatives did not show the type of customer service I would expect from one of the “best hospitals in NYC”

Will make you wait 30 plus minutes to check in later in the night even if you have been there before that same day. According to Tisch hospital they have over 300 beds for patients and who need care and they will have you wait til the front desk person comes back from break to let you back in. Pathetic. I just want to see my twins yet Tisch hospital puts up one obstacle after another to have even a mediocre experience here. I would recommend not going to this hospital if you want compassionate and understanding care. I could go on about particular nurses being rude to the point of interrupting people, slamming into your wife’s hospital bed, interrupting exams to yell at you for Absolutely a pathetic establishment full of miscommunication, rude employees, and needless delays to care.

Nurses were great! All else regarding this facility is not good. The building and site are obsolete, ridiculously old. There was no hot water during my 4 days stay... and for the love of me I do not know why they let the vallet guy keep his job. What a disgusting person (Park right across the street if possible). Is this really the #1 hospital?

This is a good hospital to come to if you can get there on your own or live close by...amazing hospital..clean, great staff, excellent doctors overall, and they move pretty fast with testing. I came in last night with stomach pains and I have kidney disease and heart disease. They did extensive testing and I was not kept their too long despite a system shutdown....overall a nice staff, had three different doctors assess my situation and assure me I was okay (aside from my known problems)...always prefer to come here when I am able to, and I don't even live that close

Best hospital I’ve been to so far! I will always come here. The nurses, Sonia Johnson vital nurse floor 17, Suzie floor 17, and Deanna floor 17 are so heartwarming and nice and make you feel so comfortable during a time of worry. Very thorough and reassuring. Only thing that would be a downside is that there is often miscommunication or no communication at all. I needed surgery and was told I could eat and then told I was t suppose to eat and my surgery was postponed till the next day. Also I needed meds and it took over 2 hours because the doc didn’t communicate with the nurse. If they fix the communication problem this would be the best hospital in NYC!

I went to NYU Langone Tisch because it is supposed to be a good hospital. What I found was that when I went to the ER, there were NO DOCTORS there to help me and I was in excruciating pain. I left the ER and Ubered to Cornell where I received excellent care. My advice is don't go to the #2 hospital when you can get excellent care 10 minutes away at the #1 hospital, Cornell. NYU Langone had the nerve to bill me and my insurance company despite my not being treated. They are all about the money NOT about your care.

For the nurse Sara .. dont know her last name .. 5 million stars. She just started in May and was the most empathetic nurse there. The doctors though.. well the doctors I had this admission... 0 stars. Below 0. The nurses are the ones doing the most work and fight for their patients when they are in pain. The doctors though... most are not even sympathetic. Also Diana Lapinska who does ultrasounds is great. 550 1st ave NYU

My daughter was born here. Service was great overall. My only complain is the lactation consultants never suggested nipple shields as I was having trouble/pain breastfeeding (I hear so many first moms do!). If they had suggested this then, it would have saved me stress and money trying to find other options. I had to pay another consultant who immediately suggested it.

Excellent ER. Bob was my RN as well as Rosie and Kaitlyn who cared for admitted patients in the ER before a room was assigned. The care was top of the line and my PA, a woman for which I am remiss at recalling her name made sure I was comfortable as I waited to go upstairs to my room. I would recommend this ER to anyone In NYC who wants absolutely unbelievable care without traveling down to Presbyterian and waiting hours. Miriam Katzenberg

This institution is anti-Muslim and anti-Arab. It retains physicians who were discovered promoting racist anti-Arab sentiments on their online platforms including racist tropes, justification of collective punishment (a war crime), and the glorification of violence. Such content with hate filled language and dangerous tropes intentionally aimed to dehumanize Muslims and Arabs coming from physicians is terrifying and unacceptable yet NYU Langone has done nothing to address this. Muslims and Arabs beware of NYU Langone and seek healthcare elsewhere.

I highly encourage any patient who has had radiology tests read by ANDREW ROSENKRANTZ, MD, seek another opinion. This institution missed an obvious recurrence of my cancer on my 6 month CT scan!! I have placed more than a dozen phone calls, emails, and messages to the leadership of NYU and Perlmutter Cancer Center over the last several weeks, but they refuse to reply. In addition NYU has mismanaged my care, falsified medical reports, and billed (and received payment from)my insurance company for medical procedures that were NEVER PERFORMED! As a physician myself, I would HIGHLY ENCOURAGE every patient to seek care elsewhere....as your life will depend on it.

My 93 year old grandma was brought to this hospital from their NYU Cobble Hill location to have her peg tube replaced. The Cobble Hill location didn’t have gastroenterologists on staff at the ER and wanted her to be seen by specialists. They referred to Tisch as “the mothership”. We arrived at 7:30 pm via ambulance and were finally told around 8:30 pm that the GI doctor on-call returned the page to the Emergency Department and informed them that she’d have to wait until tomorrow morning. We’re now seated in the ER hallway- no one has come to offer water or anything and it’s been hours. I find it incredibly baffling how an emergency at one location isn’t one at Tisch despite her bleeding and not being able to receive her food or medicine right now. When I asked about how she would receive her medicine tonight, the nurse informed me that she would reconcile her medicines and she would receive them tonight - that was 2 hours ago. So now we’ve wasted an entire night in the ER because the doctor didn’t want to come in, which puts at a higher risk of contracting COVID and whatever else is spreading here. Unbelievably unprofessional. I would never recommend this hospital.

I have several reviews in one. The reason that I gave it a 2 is because the first experience was very pleasant, and very clean. I had to bring my mother here on June 12, 2023 until July 7,2023 but she was rushed to find an facility, and she was in 17 WEST. Although she did get 3 bed sores and several blisters, the nurses were mostly pleasant, and the rooms, floors etc were cleaned regularly (Several times a day) Then because the facility was horrible (BRONX GARDENS REHABILITATION AND NURSING ,A CITIDEL COMPANY), so she is back. This time she was sent to 17 East and it is disgusting. I asked the nurse , is the maintenance was going to mop the floor or clean up, and I was told that they do not clean with patients in the room. That is disgusting. So I started cleaning myself with the Clorox and Alcohol wipes. Finally I started asking the maintenance to PLEASE clean the floor and he started doing it regularly. The doctor that she has this week is at best adequate but did not even want to check her, even though she stated that she believed that she had a stroke two days ago. The social workers Edouard/ and Marta are rude and disrespectful. I talked to Robert Valley from patient relations about construction being done 10 feet away from her room in this well over 100 year building, about asbestos concerns and his response was “Well I come here and I am not worried” the truth is, he should be because it is a long term concern . The makeshift Wall with the door that constantly opens is surely not protecting the patients from asbestos and every other entity that is in these ancient buildings. Patient relations is just here to patronize you and give you a false sense of security. There was a nasty patient care technician and two VERY NASTY NURSES. They brush it off. UPDATE There is a social worker MARTA WHO IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! She gave my mother discharge papers that included a sheet that said that she was in need of a Level 2 evaluation and wanted her to sign it. My mother waited for me to sign, and I CAN ATTEST TO THE FACT THAT SHE DID NOT HAVE A LEVEL 2 EVALUATION. I asked her what it was and she told me to cross it out. When she gave me the same paperwork yesterday that page was not given, Which means one of two things. Either she snatched it out, or today when the paperwork was printed it seen a need for a level 2 evaluation. She is the worse social worker in the hospital by far. So she then goes out the room talking about me to the nurses/ volunteers, and patient care techs. Grow up. She should be fired for her actions, but I am certain that this hospital does not care. I will NEVER BRING MY MOTHER BACK TO TISCH.

These people are horrible. They called me saying my appointment was at 12:15 for a colonoscopy. I’m still here waiting starving to death. One patient just signed in and they called her in before me even though I’m here waiting like a dog. I would give them 0 stars if I was able to.
