DO NOT GO HERE. there isn’t a way to put 0 stars. My girlfriend went here because her wisdom tooth was hurting. I called prior and asked if there was an oral surgeon in the ER and they said yes. They made us wait 5 hours in the waiting room. Her mom called and spoke to them to see what was going on and they said there was nothing they could do and that they could only give her pain medication. When the hell were they gonna tell us that? If her mom hadn’t called we would still be in the ER waiting room just waiting. We watched a few people get up and walk out, and that’s what they do. THEY MAKE YOU WAIT SO LONG THAT EVENTUALLY YOU JUST WALK OUT. THIS HOSPITAL GIVES BROOKDALE COMPETITION FOR BEING THE WORST HOSPITAL TO EXIST

Got here 4:30pm, I cut my finger and bleeding a lot. The only right treatment I received was the security itself who saw what was happening to me and he was so kind, but once I got in, everything was just a nightmare. I don’t know the name of the two front desk clerk but that white lady with short hair was disgusting and so unprofessional, the attitude and everything. I had to wait mad long to be seen by a RN, they took my vitals and after that they just took me back the waiting room because I was “not bleeding at all”, but the pain was there and I couldn’t even fold my finger. They will rather be doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING than be doing what they are supposed to.

COVID-19 success rate. This place does not even deserve one star. This is not a Hospital, this is a Morgue. Most of the so-called medical staff would be more suited as Morticians than doctors. Before you send your love one's to this place find out the success rate of this building of death compared to other hospitals that are not in your state in the treatment of COVID-19. Then ask yourself why, it could be the difference between a casket or going home!

This is the worst hospital ever. Do not recommend no human being to go there. I’m pregnant and I went because of a nonstop headache for over 24 hours. They made me wait 4 hours for a doctor to see me. After that I was still waiting sitting in a chair, feeling very dizzy and nauseous. I left without being treated, the waiting time was making me feel worst. All I needed I was bed to lay down and they couldn’t help me with that. Changing hospital ASAP.

I went to the hospital at 2AM with an excruciating pain due to a boil on my inner thigh and felt very fatigue. As I’m waiting on line the receptionist is joking with a peer. I’m in obvious pain screaming and moaning. I asked the receptionist that worked Dec. 27,2021 at 2AM if someone can take my blood sugar because I feel my energy draining meaning it’s low. I’m in sweats and tears asking for someone to take my blood sugar letting her know I’m diabetic. Her response was rolling her eyes , telling me to wait and motioning with her hands to go to the other nurse. My blood sugar was 68 and when it was taken. I’ve never felt so helpless in a hospital . I hate that feeling and don’t wish that on no one.

Worst front desk ever! They are Very careless, rude, unprofessional and don't treat people with respect. They will start arguments if things don't go their way. Some nurses are rude too. Visiting time rules are not followed. Patients waiting area and restrooms are dirty. Extremely long waiting time. This long waiting period to get treatment and to see your loved ones will make you desperate.

If you are mentally challenged please go somewhere else, there is a black lady that works in the emergency department that will be rude to you so badly and will actually hurt you traumatizing you more. I hate that I do not remember her name but will always remember how she look. And as well as the overnight stay was the worst. The security there treated the other patients so horrible, with such major attitude and disrespect. It’s Such a minor chance if you get the good ones.

Go find other medical centers. I will never choose to go back to this place again. All the comments below about their ER can well represent what I just experienced - Extremely long wait time, unclear instructions, rude and unprofessional front desk. I waited for 7 hours and finally got the x-ray result but then I was told that THEY MISSED SCANNING one part. They asked me to go do the x ray again. RIDICULOUS.

absolute NOT recommend. The staff there is so rude and keep ignored you. It is first time there and WON'T GO THERE AGAIN. all staff there kept rolling their eyes to me!! IDK if just because we are asian, so they did this to us. I think if you not dying, nobody will come to take care of you. We came without Ambulance car, cuz it took too long. my dad has severe back pain and stay there overnight only for 1 CT exam. they told me that they will call me when they finish, however, they never call me and I was block by outside 3 hours even though the visitor hours start. they kept telling you go to line , but there is no line!!!! and after I kept calling the phone number, they finally open the door, however, they even doesn't; know where is my dad, they kept bring me to wrong patient, even different gender. and the nurse just left me there. I was just standing there for 2 hours until my dad saw me when he went bathroom!!!! then is already 11 am, I saw the black lady start giving breakfast to every patient, when I asked, she was rolling her eyes to said "Excuse me, this is for ambulance patient" is my first time to know NO DRINK AND FOOD WILL PROVIDE IF YOU COME BY YOURSELF. and we wait until 12 pm, my dad is there already 14 hours without eating and drinking water. they kept telling you DR is coming, but I didn't see anyone come until I asked 4 time, the guy look at computer said my dad can discharge, but still need to wait for dr. and we wait another hour still NO ONE come!!!! and I said we just want go home now!!! then they said you can go home!!!!!!!! 15 hours for just one CT exam, so ridiculous!!!!!

Unbelievably unorganized. I went to dialysis but was unable to be dialysisized because of severely low B/P. I was immediately sent to the ER. Upon arrival it took forever to be waited on. After getting cleared to have my dialysis session (and not eating from 9am-4:30pm) I arrive back at the ER and had to wait over 30 minutes to be tended to. I called out for a nurse and all I got was be patient. Mind you I was complaining in the dialysis treatment center that I hadn't eaten the night before and had a child size breakfast, they gave me crackers and apple juice and said they'd call down to have something for me to eat upon arrival. The half hour turned into an hour. By this time my stomach cramps where unbelievably painful 😫. Once I received food they gave me soggy tuna sandwich that was made yesterday. Time to find a new dialysis center and hospital. So incredibly unprofessional...

They keep passing u around until you finally get a room. Nurses seem out of sync with your problems and treatment that you may need while waiting. Nurses should do a better job at leaving notes during shift change. They have u waiting in pain for more than 24 hrs. The only way u will get some type of proper immediate care is if you’re on the brink of death. Probably best to stab yourself before coming here so they give u better attention but even then i wouldnt be surprised if they make you wait. Shame that the hospital is so overwhelmed it can’t give proper timely care to its patients.

I attended the emergency room that day. 09/01/2024 Due to my partner's health problems, an elderly lady at the reception was at 10pm, rudely and yelling at my partner. Afterwards, some Latinos passed by and told them that if they are stupid, they should go to school. They know how to read and they insulted them. Then they called the police to take a boy out, and they didn't show up at all. I ask that you take action on this matter from this person who works at the reception, so he makes fun of people's pain by teasing them in a way. cruel bad

I don’t recommend coming here, first time here for a car accident it was the nearest hospital near by. Nurses & staff take forever to attend you for an emergency I can only imagine a regular patient already registered here. Not a clean hospital never again stepping foot here

Today is the second day of the treatment I'm following due to a severe sinus infection I left untreated that started affecting my eyes, specially the left one. I finally went yesterday August 1rst. 2022 to Elmhurst hospital, emergency room. I wished I had not waited about four weeks of suffering pain. I was starting to have trouble focusing with my eyes, it was becoming a nightmare. I TRULY WANT TO THANK DR. T. WALTHER AND DR. HALEY SUTTON IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM, THEY TREATED ME WITH SUCH COMPASSION. THEY TRULY CARE. I'VE STARTED TO FEEL IMPROVEMENT WITH THE MEDICATION, THANK YOU SO MUCH. MAY GOD BLESS YOU TO CONTINUE HELPING OTHERS. 🙏💖

Disorganized and rude, you wait so long that you don’t even feel like getting help anymore… even to be released takes long, they will make you wait about another hour to give you papers like be for real.

Avoid at all costs. Average wait time is 6-8 hours minimum. They are rude, unprofessional and completely disorganized. They do not care about patients whatsoever and prioritize care for drunks brought in by NYPD. I went several hours needing nebulizer treatment for asthma and I got 3 different doctors asking me the same questions while promising treatment to come soon, with no treatment in sight. I'd rate it a zero if possible.

I wish I'd gone to NYU Langone in the city instead. I was in the ER for 6 hrs and saw 4 employees NOT WEARING MASKS PROPERLY. Noses hanging out, under the chin, etc. At the EPICENTER of covid outbreaks. It's infuriating because no doctor or nurse will do anything about it. I told one of the maskholes to pull it up and he did. I saw him later, and it was under his chin again and he glared at me! What is wrong with these people??? Never going back if I have an emergency. Shameful. However, the docs and nurses who checked on me were very nice, so I gave 2 stars.

The Elmhurst Hospital ER staff are rockstars! I was a nervous wreck when I showed up last night after being sent by Urgent Care. Everyone I met in the ER was patient and kind. They took very good care of me and I'm so grateful. After everything the staff went through at the height of the COVID-19 crisis in NY and they keep on put their patients first and treating them with kindness and care.

    1. Don’t bring valuables here, there is a thief going around 2. Don’t let your loved ones come here unaccompanied, especially if they have a disability or are very vulnerable 3. Bring your own food and drink because they will not give you anything! My sister is mentally disabled and has speech difficulties, she arrived here by ambulance, and the staff treated her so cruelly and inhumanely. One of the black female staff yelled at her because she couldn’t spell her name quickly enough when she was asked to give her details and then accused her of being drunk, later another staff member was also verbally abusive towards her and my sister was distressed and crying and had to ask me to come stay with her for the 15 hours it took to be seen, because she was genuinely scared for her safety and was confused as to why she was being shouted at, which caused her to have a panic attack. She was also wearing a gold ring that she’s had for 10 years when she came here, and it disappeared from her finger shortly after she arrived, either an EMT or nurse took it. We saw drug addicts and alcoholics being rushed in front of everyone else and being fawned over and having meds thrown at them, but my sister wasn’t even offered water or some tylenol. Never let your vulnerable or loved ones come here alone, they will be abused by the horrible staff. They don’t care about disabled people at all. Please people, look out for each other here, because the staff all cover up for one another and steal stuff.

Haven't gone here recently but I see that things haven't changed much. I once was there in the ER for 12 hours for a blood test and CAT scan. It took them 3 hours to call for triage, another 3 to actually get me into a bed, and 6 hours for a CAT scan and finally to be seen by a doctor. When I would go there to get blood drawn the woman there would ignore everyone. I also had doctor appointments there where they would call me in 30-45 minutes after the appointment time. It's also very dirty.

Horrible experience for my dad! My dad fainted two times, one in the morning then the afternoon. So we took him to emergency just for them to leave him in a bed in a tiny corner for 4 DAYS AND NOT DO ANYTHING. They just ignored him and they wouldn’t want him to go to the restroom but too bad he went. Horrible experience don’t ever go there also the food they gave him was bad bad bad bad. The attention there is like if they don’t care. WORST HOSPITAL EVER.

if i can give this place 0 stars i would they are not black people friendly so please don’t bring your kids you will not be treated as a priority and staff are rude as hell i was waiting in the waiting room for 3+ hours with my 8 month old . i had to cry and plead for them to see my child just for them to not do nothing for him and say to see his pediatrician in the next few days my son gums are still bleeding then didn’t give him tylenol for pain nothing they only care about they own people most workers were spanish most clients were spanish immigrants the front desk lady had rude hospitality towards me but with every other patient she was soo sweet . and this is the problem with medical field today this is why it’s more likely for a black mom to loose her life during labor then it is for any other race we are not taken seriously we are not prioritized in order to even get seen you have to curse or threaten to sue to be taken seriously my advice don’t be afraid to advocate for you and your child because no one else will

I am an ER doctor at another hospital. My family member was brought to Elmhurst and I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! The Care was Excellent!! From the moment they walked in, so not just because because I was there and in healthcare. Each and every doctor and nurse and consulting service totally knew the most uptodate medical decision making, medications, which consultants to call, consultants were timely, friendly and responsive to our many questions. The nurses were super helpful, thinking about our needs before we even thought of them, got us chairs etc. My whole opinion of the hospital has shifted. Keep up the great work! Elmhust Strong!!

5 hour wait and counting in a room where masks and social distancing is not enforced and anti-maskers are served before those who aren't trying to kill vulnerable people who have to come to the ER by using the novel coronavirus. This is unsafe. As I type this my eye pain(s) continue to escalate from my 5 hour wait and they refuse to hold my place in line if I leave and return but have no problem serving people who force me from the seating zone by wearing no mask or refusing to socially distance. This is discrimination and promotes the health of people who want to kill instead of people who just want to not lose their eye.

I came there with a strong headache and with a pain in my eyes. I spent there 8 hours waiting for ANY help. No one came to me and no one asked me how do I feel during this time (except a cockroach, he was waving at me joyfully with his whiskers). I was hungry, thursty and very tired. It was 8 hours of torture. They don't care about you. The worst place ever!!!

Today at 3pm January 12, 24 they change the shift in the ER , so unprofessional a group of men without scrubs dressed as if they were in the streets with sweat pants and hoodies. They constantly hanging in groups talking and laughing loud as if they were in the streets. No worring on the jammed ER with so many seniors asking for help and being ignored and laughed at. It was a terrible to see them on their phones chatting amoung each others.

After I called about the follow-up rush after I took medication they refused to let me see the doctor. I went there to see ER on Sunday, after discharge Monday Night. The next day I got a rash and itchy. Funny thing , the triage nurse said because I wear a watch. I wear a watch since I was 17.
