So
yesterday
was
a
scary
day
that
I
hope
never
repeats.
So
much
craziness.
I
woke
up
and
was
sitting
on
my
bed.
I
was
about
to
go
check
in
on
my
mom,
because
she
was
way
to
quiet.
Just
as
I
was
getting
ready
to
come
in
her
room,
she
comes
to
my
door
and
said,
“Calvin,
I
don’t
feel
good.
Take
me
to
the
hospital!”
I
sprung
to
my
feet
and
asked
what
was
wrong
as
I
ran
to
her.
She
told
me
that
she
couldn’t
breathe
and
she
had
sharp
pains
going
up
her
left
arm.
I
immediately
knew
I
needed
to
get
her
to
the
ER.
I
got
her
seated
and
called
911.
I
took
her
blood
pressure
and
her
heart
rate.
EMS
came
promptly
and
we
arrived
in
the
ER
within
mins.
We
came

WHAT
A
MISTAKE!!!
My
mom
has
been
a
member
to
this
hospital
for
over
24+
years.
They
treated
her
like
she
didn’t
exist.
We
arrived
approximately
11:05am.
They
did
bloodwork
and
a
mobile
X-ray.
No
sign
of
heart
attack
or
stroke
was
in
her
bloodwork.
They
X-ray
showed
fluid
on
her
lungs.
They
gave
her
some
medicine
to
flush
the
buildup
of
fluid
out
via
intravenous.
That
was
around
3-4pm.
They
claimed
they
didn’t
know
how
long
results
would
take.
Meanwhile,
my
mom
was
complaining
of
a
headache.
She
still
needed
her
regular
medicine,
which
they
claimed
they
would
administer.
My
mom
and
i
constantly
requested
medication.
We
were
ignored
repeatedly.
My
moms
blood
pressure
escalated.
I
started
getting
angry.
Through
out
the
time
there,
multiple
fights/arguments
happened.
Every
one
of
the
altercations
were
between
patient
and
staff
for
lack
of
care
and
nastiness
from
nurses
and
doctors.
At
9/10
pm
was
shift
change.
My
mom
still
hadn’t
received
medication.
Not
even
a
Tylenol.
My
mom
told
a
nurse
that
if
she
didn’t
get
her
medication
by
10:30pm,
that
she
would
need
her
intravenous
removed
and
she
would
be
leaving.
I
was
stunned.
My
mom
never
walked
out
of
an
ER.
10:30pm
came
and
they
did
nothing.
The
nurse
Michelle
went
to
speak
to
the
doctor.
A
doctor
whom
never
spoke
to
my
mother
or
I.
Whom
we
don’t
know
what
they
look
like,
told
the
nurse,
to
use
a
scare
tactic.
The
nurse
Michelle
came
to
us
and
said,
“It’s
the
advice
of
the
doctor
that
you
stay
because
you
need
to
be
in
icu!”
My
immediate
response
was,
“If
you
knew
my
mom
needed
to
be
in
ICU,
why
haven’t
you
explained
this
to
us
before?
We
have
been
here
12
hours
and
you’re
just
now
giving
us
this
information?”
My
mother
said,
“Calvin,
get
me
to
Mt
Sinai
Hospital
Emergency
Room
“.
So
I
brought
her
home
and
we
changed
clothes.
We
got
a
cab
and
headed
to
Mt.
Sinai.
This
was
around
12:30am.
You
talk
about
a
complete
difference!!
These
doctors
and
nurses
ACTUALLY
WORK.
No
attitudes,
No
altercations,
CLEAN
AF!
My
mom
loved
it.
My
mom
and
I
left
at
8am.
She
is
sitting
across
from
me
doing
her
crossword
puzzles.
Back
to
normalcy!!
