I am a graduate of Columbia U. (not the Medical School!), and am sorry and embarrassed to have to give this review. I found this hand surgeon (highly rated on Zocdoc) by filtering for my specific insurance plan (an AARP United Health Care Advantage Plan) to be sure he' d accept my insurance. Soon after making an appointment, I received a call from the surgeon's office asking me to confirm my insurance information and other details. They told me I would need to arrive early to have X-rays taken. I then registered online with the office and completed a lengthy information form. After waiting over a month for an appointment, I arrived early as requested, and was told to fill out a nearly identical form to the one I told them I had already completed online, plus another detailed one. Then I was sent to Radiology Dept for hand X-rays, which I will say was efficiently handled. Returning to the doctor's office I was told to have a seat and would be called shortly. When a half hour went by, I went up to the desk to ask what was the delay. The receptionist said, "Oh yes, I checked, and the surgeon does not accept your insurance." She was sorry, there was nothing they could do. No apology for having botched things up so thoroughly, or the inconvenience they caused me. A total waste of 5 weeks while the pain in my hands got worse. Stay away! (Added one month later) They billed me for the unused Xrays and have been sending me bills on a weekly basis.

Very hard to get in touch with the correct department or person you need to contact. They rarely return your calls, and they are usually rude and condescending. A few days ago I had a virtual consultation at the Urgent Care with a Dr. from Columbia. She requested a COVID test and told me that someone from Columbia Doctors Midtown would call me the next day to schedule the test. They NEVER called me, and this was an emergency!! Weill Cornell is MUCH better, if you want to stay in the NY Presbyterian Hospital system. The exception at this place is Dr. Blandine Laferrere, a great endocrinologist.

The medical staff and doctors are good, they are really trying to do their best, however, Columbia Doctors Midtown is terrible when it comes to patient relations and to be a well-organized medical center. Patient portal doesn't work well. It is so difficult to find someone to talk. You need to call so many different numbers and explain the whole issue again and again to be able to reach someone to get your results. Poor quality patient relations, unprofessional, hope they decide to work on that one day :(

I generally have positive experiences here. 80% of the time the staff is friendly and comes across as knowledgeable. Wait times are hit or miss. But usually once I'm in the back things go pretty quick. Often times the doctors and techs don't mind answering all my "for curiosity sake". Just had a blood test done. The wait was under 10 minutes and it felt like less time to get the blood drawn. She wasn't rushing either, just great at her job. I didn't even feel the needle. Super friendly too.

Simply phenomenal experience in this office. Very clean, very new and spacious. We went to see pediatric orthopedist. The front desk staff was very polite and pleasant. The wait time was minimal. Doctor Rosenwasser is an amazing human, was so kind and straightforward with my kid. We loved the lack of masks and that my child got to see her doctor's face. All in all a rare superb experience in doctor's office. Very impressed.

Worst place of all time. They use the excuse they are still backed up from Covid. You can never get an appointment with your doctors & staff is always rude. No point to being a patient here because you will literally never be seen wether it’s for a specialty or the basics of having your regular prescriptions refilled.

Been coming here for 14+ years. I’ve been to orthopedics, Pt, labs, dermatology, ENT, dentist, and primary care. Since this place was bought out and all the original Columbia doctors left, they are now hiring anyone and it shows. They also struggle to hire the correct amount of doctors. If you want to see your primary care doctor plan on waiting 6+ months for next availability. They have a no grace period so your doctor can cancel appt even if you’re a couple minutes late. Wonder if they get fired for being 10 minutes late to work? Anyway, haven’t recommended this place to anyone in years and not sure why I come back other than it’s conveniently located near my work.

When one calls the service of this facility to make an appointment, an automated notification informs the caller to stay on the line to participate in a survey. One would think, that an active survey would prompt the reception in the imaging dept to have polite telephone manners. However this falls on the leadership managing the workers of this facility to instill in its reception to have polite telephone manners. The receptionist was curt, abrupt and unwelcoming on the phone. I ended up telling the unhelpful receptionist that I will call back which really means I am going to have my primary MD to have my mammogram done elsewhere but Columbia Doctors.

Disgusting place that doesn't know a thing about informed consent with patients. My sister came into the place for an extraction consultation, which is what she specified when scheduling her appointment. She shows up and pays a $50 copay, fine.... And then after the consultation, the person at the front desk realizes SHE made a mistake and put my sister down for a jaw surgery consultation instead of an extraction consultation, and makes her pay an ADDITIONAL $600. Had my sister known that she was going to have to pay $600 when she scheduled her appointment (for the correct service), she would have gone elsewhere. She was informed her insurance would cover her service. Instead of taking accountability for scheduling her incorrectly and just charging her the amount she thought she was going to pay, they forced her to pay all six hundred dollars.

Literally the worst!!!! Been here for 13 years and no more, thank you. The practice has been getting progressively worse. The doctors are impossible to reach. The admins are rude and sound like they are drones, not humans.

These are the worst. They have a patient portal you THINK is a nice thing but it is just a way not to talk to you. I had to fight for my PCP to refer me to someone that could help with my issue since all she could say was "eat yogurt". Finally she refers me to a Neurologist. I get a Zoom appointment and after a few minutes where the doctor seemed lost, we get on track and I thought it was a rather thorough appointment. He was concerned with my symptoms and was going to prescribe me something, get tests ordered for me and a referral immediately as he felt this was urgent. 2 days later, no message from him, no prescription, no follow up and the phone number on the portal- FROM THE ZOOM VISIT- claims they have no doctor by that name. NO ONE knows who he is! one woman asked did I "actually SEE the man?" this is asinine. No one to help. AND my insurance runs out in 2 days. Hope they are just as quiet when the bill is due. Cause I ain't paying!

I stopped by this week to get blood work done that my doctor ordered for my check-up and they refused to do the work. They claimed they couldn't find my file on their system, and refused to try to contact the doctor. So I told them I would pay for it out of my own pocket and submit the claim to the insurance company but they still refused. I tried to call the doctor myself but I was forwarded to an answering service. Even after I told them I couldn't get in touch with my doctor, they still refused. I would not go here again unless you are 100% sure they have all their paperwork.

Been going to see the OBGYN here for years and it has always been good service, clean and professional facilities, great app for checking in and records. Only big negative is the super long wait times! But I know unfortunately this is normal for a lot of doctors visits.

So far the doctor has been pretty good. The office and patient portal, however, are a disorganized mess. They are inept at submitting lab work to labs, they don’t get back to you in a timely manner, they are terrible.

Too many people in the radiology waiting room and I had to wait much too long. I expected to feel safe at this practice. I did not. I will not go back.

The wait is forever and ever whenever I come here to see a doctor, have tests or imaging done. This time, I’m waiting to just pick up some medical documents, which was supposed to take 10-20 min. I’ve been waiting for over an hour.

I’m giving 2 stars only because we are in the middle of a pandemic, in the middle of a huge spike of a vaccine-evading variant and the radiology wait room is packed. Not a care about how packed. They pretend to require droplet masks here, but the policy is not enforced at all- simply theater, and they know this because they are a medical organization. ( which I guess doesn’t matter because droplet masks don’t protect anyone from an airborne virus anyhow) Many people w masks half off, including staff, and some openly coughing w no mask—- aka bare-faced. If you want to avoid COVID, go elsewhere. They also make you remove your mask for a CT scan. Other than that, my doctor is great. But, they overbook patients here to a ridiculous degree, so you can’t get in when you need to w an infection. Often you must wait several weeks. Unfortunately, the admin and its concern for profits at the expense of practical infection prevention undermines the high quality of doctors and medical care that could be performed here if patient protections were in place during a pandemic. It is unacceptable. These institutions should be providing the highest level of protection to patients. But the facility looks pretty! i’d rather have a scan done in an open air parking lot because at least there would be ample ventilation. Please do something about this! You could require real n95s and provide them to docs and staff and patients for free to support compliance. Instead, you contribute to further minimization of this danger to life and health.

This review is for Dr. Janice Aubrey OB GYN - First, it took three months to secure an appointment. After informing her of my medical history, pertinent details, she refused medication, told me to buy something over the counter and slammed the door in my face. OB GYN visits are sensitive, this doctor has no bed side manner, her attitude was curt, rude and she did not provide care but rather withheld it. First - Do no harm. DO NOT see this doctor. I wish I had read reviews about her prior to booking the appointment. After my visit, I googled her and there were unsavory reviews on several platforms.

Had a great experience in the radiology department. Very attentive nurse and doctors. They really care about you. Before my appointment I was scared because of the bad reviews. But they are totally not true.

My dermatologist Dr Katy Burris and her whole team are great! Outstanding bedside manner (I have anxiety over needles) and worked on my behalf to talk to insurance about a specialty drug. A little disorganized at times but I got my prescription covered in the end :)

My experience with the Columbia team has been phenomenal. My pregnancy was high risk and my doctor and team did a great job of making sure I delivered a very health little girl. They are connected to the Presbyterian hospital and so I delivered my baby there and the team was amazing. I don’t know how to repay the service and effort they made for me to have a safe labor and delivery. Thank you so much.

only one star because there’s no way to give minus stars. my experience with Dr Kim is very similar to Ms Siena’s: the doctor is, in a word, unavailable. columbia doctors portrays itself as focused on healthcare services. they ‘talk the talk’ - but they don’t deliver. time to find another doctor.

I wish I looked at reviews before going here. I had appointments with a dermatologist, Esther Kim, MD, who not only cancelled on me twice at the last minute, I was only allowed 15 minutes w/her to get a full body skin check?! When I followed up w/her about a couple of things I was not sure what was determined, all I got was a lot of attitude and defensiveness telling me if I don't think she provided adequate care I should see a different doctor. She must be clueless AF about how the world works or is so entitled she is clueless b/c she billed my insurance company $660 for 15min & seems to think they're going to pay out another $660 for a diff derma just to get an answer she can't seem to give me although she is the one that did the "screening". I thought coming here would be one stop shopping to see different doctors/specialists but based on that experience, specifically since she claimed on her notes that she provided me recommendations for screening at home was a complete LIE, I cancelled all upcoming appointments. Find a doctor in-network and stay away from this establishment. They allegedly only allow their doctors to see you for up to 15minutes, per esther kim md

I'm surprised that this office has received a mediocre number of stars. So far I've seen Dr. Kleyman and Dr. Jobin. They were both exceptional. Based on my good experiences, I've made appointments to see additional doctors. I'll let you know, if anything changes after those appointments.

I was referred by my primary obgyn for a possible laparoscopic surgery. As an alumna of Columbia Business School, I did want to find this organization respectable. However, the operation for scheduling appointments and surgeries is totally unprofessional and unbelievable. The doctors seem great. Most of its bad reviews seem to be not about doctors, but about operational problems. This is not a small private practice. I don’t understand why the management just lets such issues keep happening, while it requested a survey and feedback every time I was done with my appointment. I am now having a second thought whether to have a surgery here or somewhere else. I hate to be bothered with completely unnecessary, unpleasant administrative issues.

This place is very convenient to me. I live on West 54 Street. I find the receptionists, security guards lab technicians not only competent but very polite and respectful I go 1x per mo for a blood teste, and for other things from time to time. And most of the time, I just walk in, no appt. I hope the secret does not get out. It is never crowded/
