I had my annual with Dr Duperval. I unfortunately did not have the great experience that others are writing about. She did a pap smear and a breast exam in maybe 30 seconds and left. No questions about my concerns, lifestyle, and birth control. I barely got a hello. Whats even more surprising is that I had previously been to this practice regarding issues that required an ultrasound (less than 1.5 years ago), no mention of that. I thought maybe someone else was coming in after her to do a full exam but no. I am very frustrated with the level of care.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at Tribeca Women's Health. I feel compelled to share my negative encounter with the office manager and the management staff, as it greatly affected my perception of the clinic and their commitment to patient care. Over the past few days, I encountered a significant issue regarding the non-receipt of my prescription at CVS. Despite reaching out to the clinic multiple times, I was unable to get a hold of anyone who could assist me. However, what transpired during my attempt to resolve this matter left me shocked and upset. When I finally managed to speak with the office manager, her demeanor was far from professional or helpful. Instead of offering any assistance or attempting to understand the issue, she was rude and uncooperative. To my disbelief, she raised her voice, yelled at me, and abruptly hung up the phone. This lack of basic courtesy and respect was deeply disheartening. In my desperation to address the situation, I visited the clinic in person, hoping to find a resolution. Unfortunately, my encounter with the office manager only worsened. She not only berated me in front of the entire staff but also made it abundantly clear that my concerns were not a priority. To add insult to injury, she boasted about her husband being the doctor and owner of the practice, suggesting that there was no avenue for resolution or accountability. As a patient, I expected to receive quality care, empathy, and professionalism. However, the treatment I received from the office manager and management staff at Tribeca Women's Health was demeaning, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Their actions not only compromised my trust in the clinic but also left me feeling invalidated and disrespected. I strongly advise anyone who values their health and expects to be treated with dignity and compassion to avoid seeking care at Tribeca Women's Health. The management staff's behavior reflects a disregard for patient well-being and raises serious concerns about the overall patient care provided by the clinic. It is my sincere hope that by sharing my experience, the clinic will recognize the need for improvements in their management practices and staff training. Patients should never be subjected to such demeaning and unprofessional treatment.

I went in for an annual check up and mentioned a minimal side issue I was also concerned about -- however, I mentioned that I did not want to get extra blood tests done unless it would be covered as part of the annual checkup. The front office explicitly assured me that I would not be charged because it would be covered as part of my annual check up, neglecting to let me know that if I got a less invasive version of the pap smear, it would not count as an annual check up for those extra blood tests done and I would get charged out of pocket. The bill came out to $600. That's not a small mistake. When I had called after my visit, they also had assured me I wouldn't be charged because it would count as an annual checkup. When I called again after receiving the bill, I was told that it was ON ME to know that my insurance would not cover it, and that I couldn't rely on the front desk to know whether my insurance would cover it or not. This is setting an unreasonable expectation on patients, especially when I inquired and explicitly asked if it would count as part of my annual checkup or not -- it's their JOB to know. Do NOT go here if possible. They make insurance mistakes and then blame you when you call with an unexpected bill. Ridiculous. UPDATE: I also called my insurance provider and was told that if the test were recoded as annual, all the tests would be covered. The insurance provider also iterated that it was confusing as to why the doctor's office wouldn't merely recode it as an annual checkup, given that they would get paid regardless (either by insurance, or by me directly). It seems this office is bent on making me pay OUT OF POCKET for their mistake and false information given to me.

I love Dr. Duperval and have seen her for years. I am unhappy with the office staff and follow up. I requested a follow up twice through email and once over the phone with Dr. Duperval regarding an office policy, given some conflicting information, and it's been a week. I'm pretty sure they just blew me off and didn't even tell her I called/emailed like they said they would.

The doctors are very nice, but the staff leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately. I went here for an IUD removal and insertion, and then check up on the placement. The doctor was wonderful, expedient, helpful, kind. Regarding the staff: - The front desk staff is often inaccurate, or just unwelcoming. - The nurses asked me to take pregnancy tests when it didnā€™t make sense, multiple times, as policy. - The first time I went there was a lot of confusion with the front desk on what I could do regarding ordering an IUD and getting it inserted as a new patient. This led to a multi week delay. The office I think is primarily set up to take care of pregnant women or women who want to become pregnant or have been pregnant. As a woman who has not yet been pregnant but has had multiple IUDs and was a new patient, mine was an unusual request for them and necessitated a lot of things I didnā€™t expect: a 6-week process to order the IUD and complete all scheduled appointments, multiple pregnancy tests even tho I was on continual birth control throughout the process, and an exception I had to insist upon to get the IUD removed and a new one inserted on the same day - this was, for this office, unusual, unrecommended, and required a specific physician. I really like the doctor I saw (Dr. Gavrilman) but thatā€™s the best I can say.

I missed my yearly check up because they did not send a text or call reminder like other facilities do( ESPECIALLY FOR YEARLY APPOINTMENTS). I called them and the receptionist told me " we don't call patients to remind them about appointments that'll be to much". Now I have to wait another month which I won't do! I'll rather take my business somewhere else. This is so unprofessional how it is a burden to remind your clients of their appointment? I LOVE Dr.Flavia but can't get past this nonsense.

I almost lost my daughter after she had c/section with this practice in 2020. She felt sickly and kept calling them after surgery. Was constantly told to rest and monitor. Almost a month after c/section, she was taken to the hospital by me where she had another procedure under general anesthesia done to clean out her uterus and received massive blood transfusions due to material of conception that was left inside her uterus it was concluded. I hope no parent has to go through the same!

I hate to do this, but people should know how unprofessional this facility, donā€™t even waste your time to come here, they donā€™t care. Iā€™m extremely disappointed at this facility. Not only they over booked their appointments, they have bad service. I waited over a month and a half for my appointment and they called me twice to reschedule because either the doctor itā€™s not in the office (we scheduled the appointment) or the doctor is too busy to see me due to their poor time management. They asked me since ā€œI rescheduled it, if I would like to reschedule it to another timeā€ (right away denied their own fault). I asked when is the next availability, they want me to wait another two weeks to three weeks. Whatā€™s the point of making appointment when you canā€™t keep the appointment?

They give a false sense of security - I came here for my annual appointment only to find out that was unexpectedly pregnant. They made me feel like I would really be taken care of during my pregnancy. Turns out they are are not actually capable of taking care of high risk pregnancies (i have diabetes) i followed their recommendations to see the MFM of their choice (who they talk about behind the referred doctorā€™s back- ā€œbrilliant but no bedside mannerā€) After two appointments post finding out about the pregnancy they decided for me that I was no longer a fit for their practice because my sugars werenā€™t being controlled fast enough and I was a liability to the doctors who would have to deliver my baby. If you are expecting and know youā€™re high risk I would start doing some research now on capable doctors who wonā€™t dismiss you because your case is too difficult for them to manage. One upside is that once i started the transfer process they were totally quick to send over my records to my new doctor and be rid of me as a patient.

Not only does Dr.Wu refuse insurance, she will also push for services which patients do not need. She has no ethics for being a doctor other than interests in making money on procedures and pregnancy. Her well womenā€™s exams is short and incomplete and usually involves her trying to talk me into freezing my eggs. She tried to perform colposcopy on me multiple times even when my test results were normal, by not thoroughly explaining what the results mean. The office staff also contacted me several times a week until I firmly refused after taking the record to a different gynecologist.

Tribeca women's health is incredible. Dr. Thiel was the first doctor I saw and she's super sweet. After I gave birth she came to visit me and she has the best bedside manner. Dr. Wu performed delivered my child and she put me at ease every step of the way. Dr. Duperval calmed my nerves when I thought something was wrong. Dr. Gavrilman always took extra precaution to make sure I am okay. The staff always made small talk with me. I actually enjoy going to my appointments just to see them and chat. Every time I was anxious during my pregnancy the staff was one phone call away and answered all my questions and took care of me. Everyone working there has a heart of gold. I feel so at peace with them from receptionists to nurse staff to the doctors. I live in long island and I make the commute and it's worth it because everyone who works there really goes above and beyond. I'm a first time mom and it's really important to have a team of Healthcare workers that support you. Thank you so much Tribeca Women's Health.

Sharing my experience in case itā€™s useful for someone in the future. I saw Dr. Theil, for a single visit as a Gyn and then as an OB for my first prenatal visit. She is very nice and has a great bedside manner. However, after my fist prenatal visit, the only one my partner could attend (due to Covid restrictions), I/we felt entirely dismissed. The visit was 10 minutes and this was after we waited 45 minutes to start our appointment, which was particularly hard for me at the time as I was dealing with severe morning sickness. The morning sickness was not concerning to her because it wasnā€™t putting me or my fetus at deathā€™s door (if it was, then theyā€™d intervene with medication or perhaps a recommendation, at least). We also werenā€™t given an opportunity to ask questions or really elaborate on anything beyond her incredibly prescriptive, if not condescending, doā€™s (ā€œsex,ā€ um great) and dontā€™s (ā€œalcohol and deli meatsā€ super general but conservative, fine). The major issue came when I asked about her practiceā€™s C-section rates. She demurred and said ā€œif we think you need one we wonā€™t hesitate.ā€ Not exactly a great response to someone hoping for a vaginal birth. Just to be sure, I contacted a longtime medical professional from Lenox hill (the hospital the practice delivers at) to get firsthand information on if this practice has a predilection toward C-sections. It was made abundantly clear that they very much favor and encourage this intervention. That was enough for me to find another provider without another thought.

The desk staff is always friendly and helpful in person and on the phone. There have been several times that Iā€™ve called with questions or immediate prescription needs and they always come through. All of the nurses are wonderful and friendly and each doctor has been informative and helpful at our appointments. We feel very confident with the overall maternal care that we have received at Tribeca Womens Health.

Tribeca Womenā€™s Health is a 10/10 in my book. I have been a patient for about 4 years. There isnā€™t a Doctor that I donā€™t like! I had my first baby this past July and always received the best and thoughtful care. The office staff is always welcoming. Mel and Hannah are amazing!! Donā€™t hesitate to book an appointment because you will be in the best care!

I came to this office for my first pregnancy from a recommendation from a family member and Iā€™m so happy I did. I delivered my baby with Dr. Wu and I also saw an MFM they referred me to for my high risk ultrasounds. I felt very taken care of with this office. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful, the nurses are fantastic. I got to meet each doctor and they are all really great, smart people. I wouldā€™ve been happy with any of them delivering my baby. So glad I found this practice for my first pregnancy. Highly recommend!

This whole practice is wonderful, kind, and supportive. I loved them already, and then Dr. Duperval's cool head and quick action averted potential disaster during my baby's birth (without even making clear to my support people that an emergency was underway), and I am forever in her debt.

Totally recommend this practice! Iā€™ve had the chance to meet every Dr during my pregnancy, theyā€™re all great and all nurses/staff as well. Iā€™ve had a great experience with my delivery, you wonā€™t regret.

Dear older women, if you need a doctor who is going to listen to your concerns about peri-meno/menopause, one who is not going to be condescending or dismissive, but will hear you out, then Dr. Shahim and his team are your practice. I donā€™t typically visit male gynecologists but itā€™s really hard to find appointment in NYC with doctor versed in menopause so I went for it. Having had my share of negative experiences with gynecologists, I was floored by the pleasantness of my visit to TWH. I arrived very early for my appointment but they still took me in quickly, the staff was very pleasant from reception thru to the doctor. And the visit was fast, but not at all rushed. They were very willing to work with me and hear me out about my goals as I contend with this new phase of womanhood. I highly recommend this practice.

This was my first visit and I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff. Really great group of people. I also found Dr. Theil to be a consummate professional who immediately made me feel comfortable. The office was also very clean and immaculate. I would recommend this office and Dr. Theil to anyone looking for a referral.

Everyone including reception, doctors and nurses are so kind and sweet. Always a lovely experience. They listen and follow up on concerns. Dr Wu delivered my baby and was awesome. I was a month early but they helped put me to ease. Highly recommend if you are pregnant and looking for a caring team to get you through it.

The best. Both of my children were delivered by the doctors in this group. They're all so incredibly busy but take the time to answer any concerns you may have throughout your pregnancy. While in recovery at Lenox Hill, they came to check on me throughout my time there. The front desk staff (shout out to Marie) and the nurses are patient and thorough.

Kayla Rowland is an outstanding doctor! I LOVE her bed side manner. She is attentive, patient and really listens to my concerns. She is forward thinking and she is very knowledgeable about new practices, new therapies, new medicine and all of the options that are available. It is very difficult to find a doctor like Kayla who will not rush through your appointment. Especially in NYC where everything is so fast paced and where most doctors aim to send you on your way as fast as they can. Kayla is awesome!

Iā€™ve been going to TWH for almost 10 years, and totally recommend it. I had my 2 kids respectively with Dr. Duperval, and Dr. Wu, who were phenomenal in every possible way. The entire staff - from front desk to the nurses - are incredibly kind and welcoming.

Their system was messed up that my appointment was not showing up when I got there although I have received an confirmation email from them. The girl at the front desk was rude and trying to blame on me for the mistake at their system.
