They have some good doctors on staff but there's no way to contact them when you need them. I called on Monday morning, got the "overflow call center", explained my situation, and was promised a call back. It's now Thursday. No callback. They have an online messaging system but it's not to be used for urgent matters. I contacted another doctor in the meantime and was diagnosed and treated. I left my doctor a message on the messaging system to keep her in the loop and she got back to me the next day, which was nice but unusual - it usually takes a few days. What good is a primary physician if you can't reach them (or a colleague who has access to your records) within a few hours even during normal business hours? Never mind off hours. P.S. Dropping this from 2 stars to 1 since they finally called me back Friday night (!) using a fake 12 digit caller ID, and told me that if I wasn't dead yet I could visit urgent care over the weekend.

This place appears normal but will find unheard of ways to over charge you! I made an appointment for an annual physical and they were booked up, but based on Dr. Christine Wu's positive reviews elsewhere, I thought it was worth the wait to go to a seemingly highly rated doctor. Since I'd moved to a new neighborhood, I waited the months to see this doctor in my vicinity. The physical seemed normal, I'd taken the first opening they'd offered which happened to be on valentines day, and I'd called in the time leading up, to see if there were any cancellations and they could see me sooner, which they couldn't. Afterwards I received a few referrals from the dr and had to go have my blood work done and a mammogram. I asked for Dr. Christine Wu's thoughts on my mammogram and she would only say it's normal. I pointed out that it was different than my previous one and that there were notes from the radiologist, she would not provide any thoughts, an assesment, or medical expertise, just that she could refer me to a specialist. If she'd at least acknowledged that she read the notes and thought they were significant or insignificant, that would provide me with something to go on! I'm not a trained MD, she is! Maybe it's minor but she would not say anything one way or the other, so I'll have to go to a specialist for some real medical advice. On top of the lack of expertise, I received a bill for $660! I was told that my physical included things beyond the scope of a physical and they charged me for 2 visits! I only managed the one visit, I did not have 2! And, they charged me for going in on a holiday!? My Blue cross pays for an annual physical, I should not have to pay as well! I did not ask her for tech support or to style my hair, so what was outside of the scope of a physical? It was a normal physical and I barely received the medical feedback I expected from just a physical! I called and they said they'd send my case for a review. I called my insurance and they said that they of course don't pay for 2 physicals when you come in for 1 visit! In the meantime, my blood work came back and my cholesterol is over the range for high, about 100 points above optimal. She just sent me a note to eat more fiber, less corn syrup and exercise at least 30 min a day. I already bike everywhere (over an hour a day) and exercise. I stopped drinking sugary sodas regularly over a decade ago. I may have a genetic predisposition to high cholesterol but when I try to discuss my extremely high cholesterol with her, she wants me to make another appointment! I can't get any advice from my physical without another appointment! So I have no medicine to take to lower my cholesterol. Meanwhile, they've reviewed my bill twice and now have sent me another bill for $660, for my double physical because they consider 1 physical to be 2! I definitely won't schedule a tele-health call, who knows what they'll charge for that!? What did I get for waiting months for this appointment, no helpful medical feedback on my condition, some referrals and a bill for $660! These people are not doctors, they're parasites! UPDATE: I did what they said in their response to this and reached out. For 2 months my bill was $0. Now they're billing me $660 again!

One of the worst run medical organizations I have ever interacted with. While most of the doctors I have seen here are good, the administration of organization that if you have a serious medical or chronic conditions, you should look for medical support elsewhere because they really do not care about ensuring you get treatment. I had a cardiac episode in Feb, which was highly unusual given my health and age. I have been trying since Feb to get an appointment with my primary care physician since Feb. to get a full work up to see there are some changes in my health or endocrine systems issues. My appointment as been canceled three times now. Each time it's canceled, I go to the back of the line. Now, its maybe sometime at the end of this year or next year. When I complained about the constant reschedules, delays especially given my health concerns, I was told it would be "escalated" to management, and someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours. That was 9 days ago.

Absolutely horrible with scheduling and wait times with no consideration at all for the patient. I waited over two hours for my appointment. The entire time other patients were complaining about having had appointments canceled, rescheduled etc and long waits with no explanation. I asked for a status twice and was told I would be next only for someone else to be taken in. At some point the quality of the physician is irrelevant as the treatment at the first point of contact is so subpar.

The organization of this medical group is beyond terrible. I love my doctor but the experience of making/changing appts, check-in for appts, the irritating non-functional app they try to get make you use that’s good for nothing, their lack of flow or coordination between doctor requests and getting tests done, or even a blood draw is MADDENING, partially because it seem so basic and fixable! It often takes multiple requests and multiple follow ups to get anything done properly. It’s like there is NO common sense with their management or staff. Like none of their administrative staff is trained or maybe they’re just lazy people who can’t be bothered. It’s a shame because I LOVE my doctor but can deal with the stress of trying to see her.

Every other time I call, they can't find my doctor on file and sent me to urgent care. When I made a well visit to establish a new doctor, the doctor could see that I did have a doctor on file which was still part of the practice. The $250+ Five minute appointment was billed to my medical savings account and when I called the billing department to redress the situation, they did nothing.

Signed up to see Dr. Coun for a physical. Showed up early to appointment only to be told it was cancelled by me? two days earlier. Not so. An admin later told me it had me scheduled for a 15 minute follow-up appointment instead of a half hour physical so the computer dropped me. No notice, notification, email or phone call. Woman at desk and then the admin told me Dr. Coun also leaving to go to Manhattan in a few weeks, but no indication of this on appointment website. I see why NYU has such long waits for their doctors nowadays. This place was substandard.

I don't have complaints about the radiologists themselves, but more the administrative aspect of this practice. I have had a tremendous amount of difficulty sorting out issues with referrals and with getting my records faxed to different offices. If you need to coordinate information between multiple doctor's offices, this is probably not the best place to go.

I agree with another poster that I cannot complain about the doctors or any of the radiology techs at Mount Sinai BH. If anything, they are the reason I've supported this facility for so long. However, the administrative processes are ridiculously cumbersome. And to be clear, I'm also not blaming any of the receptionists who are only doing their jobs and not responsible for making system-wide administrative or operations-based changes. That said, I had a screening mammogram at this facility back on August 10th. I received a letter shortly thereafter stating that they saw something and that additional research was needed. The letter instructed me to call and make an appointment. When I called I was told that my doctor's office had already been notified of the outcome, and asked to provide a referral from my ob/gyn. I suppose I should have realized a referral was necessary, but I was simply following the prompt in the letter, which did not include any reference to a referral. I called my doctor and was informed that they were never notified of the outcome of my mammogram and that Mount Sinai BH had never sent them the report that would support the need for additional research (*note - they could not provide a referral without this report). So I called Mount Sinai back and they said the reason they hadn't sent it was because I hadn't filled out a HIPAA form granting them the permission to do so. Again, reasonable, but NO ONE ever told me this was necessary. I was told my doctor's office knew what they needed to know to grant a referral. So I filled out the HIPAA form and sent it to BH. No one followed up with me to confirm receipt of the referral (even though I requested it) so I called yesterday, only to learn that their system was down and they couldn't complete the appointment request. I was told that someone would call me back when the system was back up to finish scheduling. They didn't, so I called today, only to find out that they aren't able to fit me in until October 3rd, and that even then, they can only fulfill half of my doctor's referral request (Screening sonogram). The other half (diagnostic sonogram), would have to be filled elsewhere. Every year, I am sent on a similar wild goose chase. I changed doctors recently, and my old doctor's office experienced very similar issues with this facility. My doctor and I would both have to jump through hoops every year to get the results from my annual screening. As a result of all this, I've decided this will be my last appointment with this facility. That said, if anyone from Mount Sinai BH cares AT ALL about improving your customer facing processes, this is what I want you to know - breast health or the possibility of a lack thereof - can be a very scary thing. The women you are dealing with following the news that they didn't have a perfect annual scan are in a very fragile state. Please do your best to audit every aspect of your customers' experience with your facility and to use that data to improve your processes, because you are creating an inordinate amount of unnecessary stress for your patients, during what is already an extremely stressful time. Your patients deserve better - I hope you agree.

My primary care Dr. Beaubrun and her nurse Michael deserve 6 stars. The best of the best. They are too good for this location. Maybe the staff is getting Covid fatigued (WE ALL ARE) but today at every turn, this place was gross. and has taken a notable decline over the last 9 months. Rude symptom checker in the lobby, only one person at the desk upstairs (who does not look up as a line of patients - a few older who have trouble standing - continues to form.) But the worst was the lab experience. As someone mentioned long wait with no communication (despite it being completely empty when I finally got in) and a gag-reflex-worthy, dirty treatment room complete with blood and urine samples in abundance in plain sight and an open very full hazmat garbage. All that time waiting with no patients, you can't even shut the garbage or put samples in one of the other rooms? Very disrespectful of patients and bad representation of some wonderful doctors.

Dr. Christine Wu cancelled my appointment an hour before the original time with no warning. I made this appointment 3 months ago and rescheduled multiple work meetings/shifted my whole schedule. Sigh.

Doctors are fine but the support systems are terrible. Several years ago I injured my foot and took a taxi to the facility. They could not see me because the Xray machine was down and suggested I get an Xray elsewhere and come back. Since I couldn't walk, I took another taxi to NYU Langone ER nearby where I was quickly seen and treated. My granddaughter's doctor needed lab tests. The following day I took her early in the mornng but there were no walk-in appoitnments and we were sent to another lab (walking disance but inconvenient as my granddaughter was had swollen feet). Both situations were semi-urgent and it was disappointing that Mt. Sinai doesn't seem to run a first rate operation. I can not recommend it to others.

I like the doctors and staff that I have encountered at Mt. Sinai but the way the hospital is run has become bad over the years. I don't what the problem is but the infrastructure and the website are not efficient and trying to reach an administrator has been a frustrating experience. My primary care left the group at some point last year and Mt. Sinai obviously does not have a plan to assist me as a patient.

Sorry but I’ve been coming here for years and overall the doctors are too over worked and do not have time for their patients. Dr Saw is great but no time for me. Mount Sinai treats their patients like robots not like human beings. I’m leaving. Going elsewhere.

This place gets a bad rap, but I had a great experience in the radiology department. I got in right away and Dianne (front desk) was great - she was so helpful and kind.

They keep cancelling my appointment. Then want to reschedule 3months from the previous date. They don't really check you. You can diagnose yourself, the will give you a prescription with out a blood work.

I had lipid panel blood test and didn’t get a complete results. When I tried to get the answers, no one was responsible. I will never go to this Mt. SinaiBrooklyn Heights again. I would rather go to Queens facilities. My. Sinai keeps expand the branches with low quality facilities. I don’t even want to give a star!

No problems here. It was very easy to schedule an appointment. Little to no waiting time on the phone. Everyone in the office was super friendly and accommodating, unlike most medical offices. The doctor I saw was very sharp and professional. There was a little bit of wait time which should be expected, but for an annual physical, blood work, and a vaccine I was in and out under 2 hours.

I recently visited Mount Sinai Brooklyn Heights Radiology Department for an Ultrasound & Biopsy. Everyone, from Galina who made my appointment, Simone the Radiologist, Dr. Talati who performed the procedure to all the staff both upfront at Reception & back stage as it were, were all lovely people. Highly professional & made me feel comfortable at all times. All the procedures were clearly explained to me & I am now well on the mend. A big thank you to all the staff at Mount Sinai Brooklyn Heights!

I ended up having cardiac issues on Friday 9/17 and initially went to CityMD on Montague St. There was a long line outside, so I walked to Mt. Sinai on Cadman Plaza. Much better experience! You can walk into their Urgent Care. I waited about an hour before seeing a doctor, but I my experience there was great. Both the tech and doctor were very thorough and gave me a bit of a tongue lashing (which I needed) to take better care of myself. The doctor urged me to go to the ER since they do not have in depth cardiac capabilities. I listened and went to the ER. I am forever grateful to Dr. attending who really seemed to care. If I ever have any urgent care issues, I would go back there in a heartbeat.

I had a consultation scheduled w a neurosurgeon here. My mom flew in from across the country to attend. I had a sneaking suspicion something was off when I never received a confirmation for the appointment, so I called the day before and was told all was good. The next day I show up at the appointment time and am told the doctor is out. When I asked why I was never notified they told me I should have received a call. I absolutely never received a call. The office staff here is beyond incompetent and was very unhelpful in rectifying the situation. Currently looking for an alternative doctor because this whole situation was truly pathetic and unacceptable.

These doctors are irresponsible and neglectent. They refuse to see the patients and deny services. They wash their hands of any problems and don't want to deal with anything that requires them working. They are discrimination because of my ethnicity. They don't respected and play too many games behind patients heads. They take everything personal and disappear appointments from online charts. The only that suffers is the patient I been getting sicker and sicker since I started seen doctors this clinic. The worse in NYC!!!! I wish they would go away never come back to Brooklyn or NY.

I've been going there since they opened, maybe 15 years ago (?), and the place has deteriorated to such an extent I am switching to another practice. Every year it's getting worse and worse and it's like there is no bottom.

Doctors are great but I'm always disappointed with the wait for the lab work. I left after 45 min because nobody in the waiting area had been called at all and the receptionist couldn't give any indication of wait time.

  • 2/5 Andrei S. 1 year ago on Google
The staff here is nice and professional. But the paperwork system is confusing. They ask you to fill out forms on their website before you go in, but then you have to fill in all the same forms by hand once you're there.

NO. Don’t do it. Do not be tempted to wait “two hours” here because two hours turns into four or more. Zero stars is what I’d give.

Don’t expect them to answer the phone. I had a blood test and needed to call back the next day, nobody ever answered. So pretty much took a test to never know my results

The doctors are all very nice, but this may be the worst run clinic I’ve ever visited. They cancel appointments with no notice and often there are no available appointments for months. I strongly advise finding a different place

It’s absolutely amazing that there is no class action lawsuit against Mount Sinai and in particular the Cadman Plaza location for overbilling. I was billed double for an urgent care visit - for the visit itself and then for a “45 minute new patient visit” which never happened. It took six months of calls with Mount Sinai before they removed the charge, after insisting the entire time it was valid. I was speaking to a friend this week (which prompted me to write a public review) and learned she was billed $1200 at Cadman Plaza for a visit for which her other doctor (also at Mount Sinai!) sent a referral multiple times prior to the visit and the day of the visit, and which this location could not find and would take no responsibility for sorting out. Posting this in case anybody is reading and contemplating some kind of group complaint or action. These practices, negligent and incompetent at best, greedy and predatory at worst, undermine the work of the many good doctors who work for Mt Sinai.
