This is a very basic gym. Full disclosure, I've never been up to the weightlifting room, I only come to use the treadmill. There are a lot of treadmills but none of the TVs connected to them turn on. Many are missing a cup holder for your water bottle, there's just a hole where the cup holder should be. The treadmill area does get crowded in the evening time after work, I've had to wait to get on a machine. If you can come earlier you should. It does tend to get hot in the treadmill area, I wish they would install fans to keep the temp a bit lower. The worst part about this gym is the weekend hours, they close at 5.00PM on Saturday and Sunday which is a huge bummer. The front desk staff is consistently cool and friendly. I will continue to come, just want all to know not to expect anything special.

Irresponsible and ineffective management; I fell from the stair machine and got my knee and elbow injured because there is no sign on the machine to indicate that it is “out of order” After I informed the employee, the manager came and only said “I will put sign on these machine.” Didn’t even ask if I am okay or not. I am lucky enough for just hurt my knee and elbow. If I didn’t grab the handle, by falling from that high stairs, I may in the ambulance now.

Getting around this gym is like going through a gauntlet. Whoever decided what machines to remove/replace and placement, probably never worked out before. There really is no logic. Tree racks blocking every throughway, five attention seeking CrossFit racks/stages and 3 wack-a-mole boxing machines. This gym has the most wasted space and useless equipment I have ever seen. Very nice front desk staff. This goes for many NYSCs I been to, most machines are Jerry-rigged to function and the benches have 1 loose screw holding it together.

At the front desk - Me: Excuse me Guy at the front desk: keeps texting After 10sec Me: Still Looking at him Guy at the front desk: Oh I’m a trainer here and I don’t answer any questions. You gotta wait for the guy next to me for help (While the guy next yo him is busy helping all other customers) Good job assuming I was going to ask serious questions - but in reality I was just going to ask what time this gym close On top of this, this gym had 0 help on my case of helping either me or the police when my stuff was stolen from the locker room. The police came twice asking for the camera footage and apparently no one, including the manager helped the police for my case.

Charged me for several months after I told them to cancel my account. Unbelievably bad customer service

Membership renewal scam. I was in town for one week and the person at the desk agreed it would be more cost effective for me to sign up for a monthly membership and cancel due to the relative cost of a day pass. However, they never mentioned that my membership would renew on the 1st of the month as opposed to 1 month after my sign up day, and also that I needed to give 5 business days notice to avoid being charged for the next cycle. This is going to result in my being charged $94 for next billing cycle even though I don't even live in New York. Also, there is no clear way to cancel online, so I've been on hold with the location for about 20 minutes trying to move my cancellation forward. Based on Reddit posts and reviews it seems like this kind of thing is typical and built into NYSC's business model. I would absolutely not recommend this gym.

Haven been down that way in a while but from what I have gathered they are like a lot of the inherited in the area not contributing to the area but for the wrong reasons. Back in the day lex would have like free fridays to attract women and it would be really helpful for the older folks whos cash really still supports the district. Kinda a dark spot neighborhood at this point.

23rd St & Park, the manager Lance is great. The front desk rep Bill is great. Overall good locations.

I love this place! Staff is extremely friendly and professional and lovely. Every time I walk in I feel like a part of the family. They are absolutely amazing. Classes are amazing, the instructors are super good because they incorporate exercises to work out every muscle in your body. They ensure proper form. The staff offers amazing one on one workouts. I just love them.

Cool gym with a friendly staff, the equipment is way newer comparing to other locations, great variety of classes. One star down for the cleanliness - the weights are everywhere and people barely clean machines after themselves. Also I wish they had some fans or air purifiers, the gym gets really smelly and hot (especially after 5 pm)

Terrible gym. The front desk refused to give me a second, clean towel for a shower. I had to shower using my sweaty towel. They spent a ton of money and time renovating the Park Ave location but there is limited space for open mat workouts and they frequently run out of towels. Such a disappointment.

Membership terms were overly complicated and overcharged. When they downgraded the gym from an elite location to a regular location, they continued to charge me the elite price for months and did not reimburse me. They've also been forcing everyone to go through their new in-house app and it's impossible to navigate. For a gym this crowded, it's not worth the hassle.

I went there first time. I like it over there and very comfortable. I wish this club hour was extended.

small free weight area in the lower level and the rest of it is on the top floor which makes no sense when you are in the middle of a workout.

Great Boot Camp exercise class. Why do the men's locker room showers lack hot water for months?

👍👍 It is an amazing stay for people that really just need a bed for the night in the middle of New York. We stayed for a week and first of all the location is unbeatable. Right next to central park and even in a 20 minutes walk distance to time square. I absolutely loved the immense gym. Alone for the...
