Yes the building is beautiful and unique in its shape. You likely recognize it as soon as you walk up to it but that's about it. I was here 3 years ago and they were working on it then. There's still scaffolding all around it blocking a good portion of the building and making it much less appealing to look at. There's way better stuff to see in NYC so unless you're in the neighborhood, you can probably skip this.

Very cool building to have a look at and it is quite an old one aswell. It's unique shape let's it stand out from the other buildings around. Not sure if it is worth a big detour to see it, however, if you are in the area you can go and have a look. It is not really a tourist attraction so you cannot have a tour or go to the top. That is not a problem as the outside is the most important part.

A building that seems to be always under construction, but then again, it is also a building that signifies New York City. As soon as you see the building structure, u know that's nyc. I was across from it and saw the light cube that reacted to touch and maybe sound... I played with time for a while... at least going to the flatiron wasn't a waste, lol

The Flatiron Building is the characteristic triangular thin building in New York and one of the most famous buildings in the world. It is designed by American architect Daniel Burnham, construction began in 1901 and lasted a year, its shape allowing it to fit on the narrow lot at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Broadway Avenue. It has 21 floors and is 94 meters high. The name β€œFlatiron” comes from the building's resemblance to an old-fashioned clothes iron. However, the triangular area consisting of Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and 22nd and 23rd Streets was known as the β€œFlatiron” before the building was constructed. The shape of the building is not an isosceles triangle like a real iron. Still, it's a perfect triangle. Viewed from above, this pointed edge of the structure is an acute 25 degree angle. Its shape initially caused reactions, with many believing that such a thin building with such a high height could not be erected. Over the years, the building has appeared in countless movies, television shows, and commercials, cementing its place as a timeless icon of US architecture. Unfortunately the building was fully decorated in the Christmas period of 2023.

No doubt that NYC have hidden gem places not mentioning the historical history behind some buildings. On Sun, August 1, I enjoy it a NYC ( Flat Iron Building tour) The tour started at 11:00 am, had about twenty five people. I have the opportunity to meet this amazing guy Mr. Mike Kaback he knows NYC from head to toe! He explained everything behind the history of some buildings in my personal opinion the tour is very short and we only walked from 23rd st east ave to 23rd st and Madison Ave for an hour and half Based on what I noticed in some guest they wasn't satisfied with the tour in fact a lady as him if the tour included the Empire State Building, (he said yes if you go and pay for it) some guest reactions were shocking! This tour could be amazing for kids because school doesn't teach kids United States history as before specially The Constitution of the United States of America. Overall it was a good experience for me personally I learned things that I didn't and as many people we just pass by those buildings not knowing the history behind. Like he said NYC has changed throughout the years Have more restaurants, Office buildings, hotels, Celebrities and one of the most popular tourist destinations. Note The Flat Iron Building is under construction But I believe he said people can go in after they finish the construction.

Beautiful & historic district in NYC! The Flatiron building is really amazing to see in person. As of Feb 2024 there appears to be work on the building with scaffolding on the sides. Still a beautiful view as well as many other iconic historical buildings all within a couple blocks to check out!

This place is pretty cool. The elevator ride up is so cool. How it shows the construction or the building. Be prepared to wait a long time to get in. The security. Heck is insanely long and most people aren’t paying attention. But it’s an amazing experience.

I do love the flatiron building but you can barely recognize it now. it is wrapped in scaffolding on all sides now and has been under heavy renovation since around October 2019 and so if you do not know it, most likely you will not recognize it when you see it. In the beginning it was covered on one side by black netting. Now it is covered on all three of it's sides which is what makes the building famous. I love it but it is simply not there right now for the pleasure of the eye. Use your time and go downtown it should be completed in probably late 2022. the photo here is the walkway underneath the scaffolding that wraps around the triangular structure.

Building magnate Amos Ano set up a projecting screen with magic lanterns on a building at the precise spot where later the Flatiron skyscraper would be built in 1902. Locals continued to refer to the building as the Flatiron building ever since. Very interesting perspective.

The Flatiron Building, an iconic symbol of New York City's skyline, stands as a testament to architectural brilliance and historic significance. Located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue, Broadway, and East 22nd Street, this triangular marvel captivates both locals and tourists with its timeless elegance. The first thing that strikes you about the Flatiron Building is its distinctive and unconventional design. Shaped like the prow of a ship, the building's triangular form is a captivating sight, especially when viewed from Madison Square Park. The way it gracefully occupies its wedge-shaped plot is a testament to the ingenuity of the architects who brought this structure to life. Constructed in 1902, the Flatiron Building has seamlessly blended into the cityscape, becoming a beloved part of New York's architectural history. Its Beaux-Arts architectural style exudes a sense of grandeur and sophistication, making it a must-see for those with an appreciation for classic design. One of the pleasures of visiting the Flatiron Building is taking a stroll around the neighborhood. The surrounding area, including Madison Square Park, offers picturesque views and photo opportunities, allowing visitors to admire the building from different angles. The ever-changing play of light on the building's facade adds an extra layer of enchantment, making it a favorite subject for photographers. Inside, the Flatiron Building houses a mix of businesses, adding a dynamic aspect to its historic charm. The ground floor hosts retail establishments, creating a lively atmosphere around the building. The ground-level presence of Eataly, an Italian marketplace, adds a modern and gastronomic touch to the historic structure. While the Flatiron Building may not boast the height of some of its neighboring skyscrapers, its significance lies in its pioneering design and cultural impact. It has become a symbol of New York's resilience and adaptability, standing tall as a reminder of the city's rich architectural heritage.

A famous building in the middle of New York. It’s one of the city’s iconic buildings. Another good spot for photos. It locates next to a park and a coffee shop on the street.

In November, unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to be able to admire this building in all its beauty. The building is under construction, which is good because it means that when the work is completed, it will be more beautiful than before. I will definitely come back to see it free from the scaffolding!

Flatiron building was amazing 🀩 I wish I would have seen it during the day It was decorated very beautifully the building is very recognizable once you see it, and you can see it from far, I was happy that there’s a train station πŸš‰ underneath so I could get up close, this isn’t a building you can just walk in there and they were fixing it up while we were there so that was also sad I wish I had seen it without all the construction πŸ— 🚧 work and equipment and I would have walked down the street a little more if I had the time

Iconic building . Wanted to get nice photos of it while in new york for the Christmas period. Just a shame it's currently covered in scaffolding and netting while work is going on. Kind of spoils it a bit.

The Flatiron Building is an enduring symbol of New York for more than a century, and its popularity with photographers and artists has made it an enduring symbol of New York. However, it is recently going through a renovation, hindering its beautiful architectural design. However, even with all of the scaffolding and construction going on, the building is still largely recognizable. The neighborhood the Flatiron is situated in, contains numerous establishments of high quality.

The Vista of this ancient, iconic 1902 skyscraper was a sight to behold. I only walked by it but was drawn to its early 1900s architecture and interesting appearance. One of the oldest skyscrapers in New York City I believe

Great architectural building to have a look at and it is quite an old one aswell. It's unique shape let's it stand out from the other buildings around. However, it was under construction or something when I went there in January 2023. It didn’t meet my expectations for photos in daytime. May be looks great for night time photos. It is not really a tourist attraction so you cannot have a tour or go to the top.

Iconic building to go and see, although not much you can do beyond that. However it's near loads of good stores on Broadway and near to all the interesting stuff in Midtown so it's easy enough to pay a visit and take some pics.

A famous and iconic skyscraper in the Big Apple, memorable for its unusual triangular plan that earned it the nickname 'Flatiron Building', coined by New Yorkers themselves. The building, in the Beaux-Arts style, was built on a triangular lot; it is located in Manhattan on 23rd Street, at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway, which intersect at an acute angle. The charisma of the building gave its name to the neighbourhood, the Flatiron District, a dynamic, busy and attraction-rich area stretching from 20th Street in the south to 25th Street in the north. In addition to the 'Flatiron', you will certainly notice the Metropolitan Life Tower, a sort of look-alike of St. Mark's bell tower, but over 200 metres high! In nearby Madison Square Park you can enjoy some relaxation in the midst of New York's hustle and bustle, listening to some live music from street performers, and perhaps savouring a great burger at Shake Shack.

It's a New York City landmark; so I don't know that I can give it a bad rating. The front of the Flat Iron building was covered in scaffolding, I guess it is being renovated so it was not exactly picture worthy. Overall, that is not worth deducting a star despite the fact that I am rating a building; not services, atmosphere, or amenities.

Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.

Visiting the Flatiron Building in Manhattan is like stepping into a slice of architectural history. Its unique triangular shape not only makes it stand out among New York City’s skyscrapers but also offers a fascinating glimpse into the innovative design of the early 20th century. Perfectly situated for some iconic photos, its presence enhances the charm of the surrounding area. A must-visit for anyone interested in architecture or the history of NYC. While you can’t tour the inside, the exterior alone is worth the trip.

In the process of being cleaned so parts had scaffolding over them. Still an incredibly beautiful and iconic building which when they have cleaned it will be even better.

To me it was very underwhelming. It's just a building. One that doesn't even look nice. In the city of New York you have way more impressive buildings to stare at. Yes perhaps from above it may look like an iron, well whoopadiedee. From the street level it does not and it's just some random building.
