😠 Love only when there is SALSA BANDS! Half of the time the bathrooms are so dirty and smelly and infested with Mosquitoes!!! I would go enough to enjoy for a few songs then leave! With all the money it makes they should always keep the bathrooms at all time clean and smelling good it's a shame woma... People often mention beach, good, people, Bronx, crowded,

Love only when there is SALSA BANDS! Half of the time the bathrooms are so dirty and smelly and infested with Mosquitoes!!! I would go enough to enjoy for a few songs then leave! With all the money it makes they should always keep the bathrooms at all time clean and smelling good it's a shame woman go in to the bathroom with children and it's so dirty and smelling so bad! The people who sit at the bathrooms to watch are hardly even there to see what goes on! They had men going into the woman's bathroom! It's horrible anything can happen and you hardly see cops around to busy talking or checking woman out on beaches! Like I say only for a band I go to see and stay an hour! Unless it's a good concert! Other then that place is horrible and disgusting! Really need to do something about it bad!!!!!

Basically, this is the beach where everyone who grew up in the Bronx, would visit. Both summer & winter times. In the off season its the place to go to work-out/train. Once the Rocky movie came out, we would all jog/run the about 5 miles up the Bronx Park and into Pelham Pkwy, to the beach. Then up the entrance stairs playing the fight song & Eye of the Tiger. This began my career as an expert martial artist, aside from the Dojo on Gun Hill Rd . As far as the beach, goes In the summer time gets extremely crowded. Forget about driving here, traffic backed-up, almost to the bridge. And the water is never clear, basically hit & run as far as polluted water goes. However the backwoods, hidden behind Hunters Island is a paradise for the Bronx. And perfect place to go island hopping across the Sound. Wonderful beaches on the other islands, although forbidden/taboo.😎 Absolutely Like πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Deeply Magically Mysterious Nature πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’œ

A unique Beach for nyc in that it has forested areas and beach areas. You can use one of their grills and picnic tables and use the beach. No large waves as this is facing Long Island sound. Naturally on weekends it gets crowded and during the weekdays it is less crowded. Great playground with sprinklers , basketball and handball courts. Real Bronx feel !

My hometown "Riviera"! An easy bike ride to the beach where friends & neighbors swim, play & dance as the seasons change.

Well I love orchard beach grew up in The Bronx always went there the only problem with the beach is the snack Bar They're too expensive Make the food price reasonable and they'll make a lot of money And the beach was a lot cleaner this year than last year

This year is better than ever! Water is clean swimming is still not allowed but the guards let you play in the shore which for kids is enough.

A perfect week-end get away from hustle&bustle of NYC, easy accessible with metro 6 and a walk through the charming park. Worth to catch a breath!

A beach but also a nice park next to it. Great for a short walk in the nature, and great for off-season when it's not crowded with people.

Fantastic beach for NYC summers. Much less crowded than the BK/QNS beaches on the day we went. Only downside - there was some of glass on the beach in multiple places, which made it a little scary to just run around.

Beach is dump! Bx native childhood memories back In the 70s 80s early 90s wonderful. Until, it got ghetto with people shooting water guns at girls to fights and slowly having restaurants taken out and no entertainment. Boring, ghetto! It’s the people sadly who have destroyed this lil gem. This should be the Coney Island of the BX. How can it be so big and at 1 point a beautiful kept beach with such historic features destroyed. Livin up this beach and let’s get it back to good. What a waste of space .

Little waves, safe for kids. Cleaner water when there is less gathering. Nice Place to go near my residence. Should have better arrangement for Ladies shower and changing.

Large open space, good for social distancing. Bring a blanket with food and have picknick on the beach or across the parking lot by lake. Can even try your hand at fishing.

I live in Bronx and I am happy to go there whenever the weather is sunny and warm. On weekdays and Saturday is better, but on Sunday it is just too crowded with too many people listening to their own loud music, which makes it difficult to relax (that's why 4 stars). I recommend to walk at one of the two extremities of the beach to find a more quiet spot.

Orchard beach is especially nice after the crowds of the summer go home at the end of the beach season. That is when I enjoy going there. The promenade is being renovated right now but the new design in the photo by the construction site looks really good. I am sure this will improve the boardwalk area of the beach. It is scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2025.
