Great place to check out if you want to experience systemic racism in action. A private community with a co op board that grandfathers in white people and restricts access to what is supposed to be public park land by giving people no place to park their car. Plenty of American flags waving though so that's pretty cool.

Nice walk and views with so many shells on the beach. Lots of garbage on the beach, hopefully it's cleaned up during the summer months. Always great to walk along a beach.

The #1 beach in NYC!! Breezy point tip is a national park so it is open to the public, but the park is located inside a gated community. There is absolutely no parking for beach goers so there isn’t anywhere to leave your car (it will get towed) (few cars will be parked but they have fishing permits for parking). U have to walk out there or bike or Uber (May try to finesse a surf club shuttle ride from beach 169, the last/first stop before/after Brooklyn on the q 35). Ubers don’t know how to get there so when you get to the gate, have the driver tell them that they are dropping you off at the national park, they HAVE to allow you in. To get back home: walk, hitch hike, try to finesse the shuttle, call an Uber and give him directions on how to pick you up past the gate and what he/she has to say to the guard. If you make it past the obstacles, it’s the best and cleanest beach in NYC. A true hidden gem!

The beach is beautiful and mostly exclusive, intended for residents or renters so it helps to know someone who can get you in. This may seem like a pain but it’s actually really nice because you can often avoid large crowds. It’s the perfect place to lay out in the sun, take a dip, or have a picnic. The views are pretty too. You can often see the city skyline depending on your location all while having your toes in sand. There’s no NYC beach like it. I always look forward to the picnic dates I have here and really recommend it on a hot summer day.

Amazing views of the city, Coney Island, New Jersey, and mainly the ships funneling in and out of NY harbor. While it is free to walk out, it is a long hike down a long, winding, underwater, road. To access you need a beach pass for your 4x4 vehicle.

Always come once in while with my suv. It's nice but waves can be too strong for some folks

Really nice, secluded beach, went on a Wednesday and there was like one person there fishing. I parked at Fort Tilden and walked over, probably took me about an hour each way. You’ll see these signs that say “private property, no trespassing” but the beach is federal land so you’re good. I saw hundreds of birds and there are lots of tide pools so you kinda have to navigate around that but it made the trek fun :)

Quiet place to observe shore birds, walk relatively empty beaches, or fish the inlet to Jamaica Bay.

Breezy Point tip is the Western end of Rockaway, and part of the national park. Beautiful, sandy beach frequented by surfers, walkers and surf fishers. This is also a wildlife preservation area. Please don't go into roped off dune areas. Parking permit required to park near beach!

Beatitude and special place. But, you need ot get some kind of pass. I don't get it, but it is what it is.

There was no one there. A good place to think about your past while looking at the sea...

Sort of like going to Fort Tilden, but without the military ruins, toilets, trash, bus service, and crowds. The widest, quietest, cleanest, most isolated beach in New York City.

A peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. The natural beauty was captivating, and the serene atmosphere was perfect for relaxation.
