It may take about 20 Minutes by train from Rockaway Boulevard to Broad Channel, but the view of the Bay is beautiful. It's jst hard to see all of the destruction done around it

Great place for a holiday!

Rockaway offers visitors a unique perspective of NYC life. It's one filled with sand and sun surrounded by water and beautiful natural areas such as Fort Tilden and Jamaica Bay Wild Life Refuge. Commonly called a small town in the big city this is where New Yorkers and tourist go for a break from the action and summer heat. Take the ferry from Wall Street for only $2.75, take a surfing lesson and enjoy a margarita or a lobster roll...stay to watch the Sunset behind the city skyline over the waters of Jamaica Bay or spend the night and wake up with the Whales and Dolphins.

I love far rockaway,the beach right there,a nice community,parking.A nice cool breeze hits you from off the water in the summertime.The only down side i heard is flooding.But other than that,live on an upper floor,still a nice place to live and visit.

wow , fast forward over 40 years and post hurricane sandy , and you have an amazing , brand new 3-5 mile broadwalk with new (prices) places to eat in the broadwalk . ocean waters always good here (most of the years not all ). These days it’s real good. Then you have the Ramones song: Rock, rock , rockaway beach ...!!!! 🤙🏽🌊😊

great summer place, they need to increase parking, there are empty lots not being used except sunday
