I love this place! 💕 great ambiance; however, they don’t have AC yet, but we’re seated at the open front door area. We got the Nachos with guac, which is excellent and super tasty. You would know it’s vegan. Tacos We got the chorizo and mushrooms. I think I like the chorizo more than the mushroom. The mushroom is a bit overwhelming, maybe because of the big cut of mushroom. Maybe if they slice the mushroom into smaller pieces, it would be great and easier to eat. The chorizo tacos are a must-try 🤤

We love this restaurant. Last time we were in NYC we discovered this place! This time we tried out a new location in West Village, we were basically salivating by the time we arrived at the restaurant. We ordered the nachos to start and then 3 tacos each - the fish, chicken and cauliflower! They were all delicious! Ambience is great as is service! Would definitely recommend

Cute vegan Mexican restaurant. Drinks were fun and delicious. Lots of options on the relatively affordable menu. Highlights included the nachos, guacamole, cauliflower tacos, and “fish” tacos. If you like spice, they bring 3 different hot sauces to the table ranging from mild to very hot which complimented the food nicely. The ambiance of the restaurant is lively and fun, very friendly staff and good service. The is a great spot to bring your vegetarian friends for dinner!

Amazing food and unbelievable that there is no meat in sight. The fact that as a big meat eater I can tell you I have never had better Mexican food should tell you everything you need to know. I highly recommend the 'fish' and the mole tamales. Will be back and have already suggested to a number of friends to go try it.

Went for dinner on a Thursday night and it was packed, so we got a table on the patio. We were able to move inside after a drink. They have a great menu and we loved everything we ordered. Also the drinks were tasty. Their service and environment is excellent. Definitely recommend even if you are not vegan

***ATTENTION! I am NOT a vegan!!*** That being said y’all, nothing here disappointed at all. My absolute favorite was the nachos… baby they GAVE and we ATE!! The nachos were smothered in goodness and I almost forgot we were in a vegan restaurant! Our server Claire was so helpful and attentive to our needs and wants. My burrito was BOMB and very filling.. I literally danced the entire meal with my amazing friends cheering me on lol. Thank you JaJaJa for such an amazing experience! I’ll stop sleeping on the vegan restaurants from now on 😉😍

I walked in only having about 20min for lunch around noon on a Wednesday. I was promptly greeted, offered a seat at the bar and provided service. In addition to the service, I immediately enjoyed the decor and overall cleanliness. The food and cocktails were amazing. I enjoy Vegan cuisine but am not Vegan and could not even tell the pollo tacos were not actual meat. I had the grapefruit & tequila cocktail and was blown away by the flavor and aesthetic. My only regret is not having enough time to sample more of the drinks and cuisine. Will be back!

This restaurant is 100% vegan but don't let that stop you if you love meat. My burrito was the most flavorful I've had in years, and I'm not usually a vegan eater. The churros were also to die for. The atmosphere is great and the service was superb. We've eaten about a dozen meals out on our NY vacation and this was my favorite.

A Mexican Vegan Resturant! 🍃 In general, I liked the atmosphere of the place and the variety in the menu. The nachos were delicious and the portion was quite large, but the chips were a bit soft. Ceviche did not suit my taste at all. Tacos 🌮 were very filling and delicious. In the cocktails I couldn't drink it to not like it (plum y mezcal) but my friend liked 🍉 margarita very much :) I give an above average score because when you look at it as +\-, this is what comes out.

Very groovy place in a cool location. Nice to have the option to sit inside or outside. Entirely vegan menu so loads of options. We had a couple of tacos and the nacho. The nachos were massive and the best tasting nachos we have ever had! Absolutely loaded with tastiness! We added the guac and it was worth the extra cost. Staff were friendly. Note there isn’t any free wifi for guests. Highly recommend!

Jajaja is a Mexican restaurant in New York City and it has a lot of outlets. To start with it completely a plant based vegan restaurant, but that shouldn't be a reason for meat lovers to not visit. The nachos were really good and had a huge portion size. Along with the nachos the buffalo flower taco was very good as well. The overall ambience was very nice and the service was fast as well. Overall a really good place to have vegan Mexican food.!

Jajaja Mexicana redefines Mexican cuisine through a fully vegan lens. As an avid enthusiast of both Mexican flavors and plant-based dining, I eagerly ventured into this vegan haven to explore a menu that promised innovative takes on beloved classics. The cocktails at Jajaja Mexicana are a standout feature, boasting freshness and a spicy kick. Pineapple Mezcal, in particular, stood out for its super refreshing taste, making it the perfect accompaniment to our Mexican feast. The Pollo tacos were a revelation, showcasing the culinary prowess of Jajaja Mexicana in replicating meat with plant-based ingredients. The vegan "chicken" was juicy and bursting with flavors, earning full marks for its authenticity. The balance of textures and the rich, savory filling left us craving for more. The Enchiladas Verde stole the show, proving that vegan options can be just as indulgent and flavorful as their traditional counterparts. Each bite was a delightful homage to traditional Mexican street food, minus the meat. While the journey through Jajaja's menu was mostly a symphony of delightful flavors, the Nachos didn’t work for me. Though generous in portion size, the flavors lacked the cohesion found in the rest of the dishes. Didn't find the Buffalo flower tacos appetizing too. Despite the minor hiccup, Jajaja Mexicana's expansive and enticing menu ensures that I'll be back for more culinary adventures..

Wow, amazing place. As a Mexican, I can tell that this has been one of the best Mexican restaurants that I had tried in Manhattan. Don't be afraid to go even if you like meat because you don't need to be vegan to try it. I love meat also, but this is amazing. The service was great. It was very crowded, and even though we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for the food. They were super kind and helpful. I am definitely going to come back to try more things in the menu. I had enchiladas verdes and tacos buffalo flower.

Let me tell you! Will definitely be coming back. Had the greatest time having lunch here. Everything I ate was amazing. My ultimate fav was the churros! Just thinking of it makes me want to run down there and buy some more. A great place to take non vegans. A drink and some tacos - say less.

Vegetarian twist on Mexican cuisine that plates delightful but fails to deliver. I love the concept, ambience, and service. Just disappointed on the delivery. Squid 🐙 tacos and the side of rice were the highlights of our meal. Would recommend if looking for a tapas and cocktail type of night out.

Best part of JaJaJa is the atmosphere. Even in the outdoor patio, they have a bright and cheery color palette and heat lamps to keep you comfy. The food was not bad and simple with just the main, no sides. I think I'll get an appetizer too next time. The cocktails I had were not my favorite but might be good to someone else.

Just a really fantastic dining experience. The place is bumping reggaeton through your entire meal, which was a lot of fun (but not too loud). The servers were all very nice and efficient. The food was wonderful, especially the "fish" tacos and the nachos. I didn't love the banana cream pie. I'm definitely coming back hungry.

Jajaja is one of the best vegan places that u can eat at in NYC. With a few restaurants all over the city, you will have a few options in where to go. I love everything that we ordered but the churros is hands down the best in the whole of Manhattan. I’m a New Yorker so I won’t lie to you!! lol

I walked in to this place with my dog and ask for an outdoor seating only to be told that this place is pet friendly !!. It is thanksgiving day and could not have asked for a better place to dine-in with my dog. Atmosphere, food, service everything was great. And if that's not enough, place is also vegan ! I am definitely coming back again here

Beautiful decor and very warm, friendly service. The food is outstanding. Homemade hot sauces, all vegan meat substitutions in colorful and creative pairings.

We got the chamo y mezcal cocktails, nachos, crispy pescado tacos, enchiladas verdes and chorizo burrito. Everything was delicious and flavorful! I would not have guessed the food is vegan just by taste. The staff are extremely friendly as well.

Delicious veggie food. Was here for a work event and the food was creative and delicious. The service was a bit slow but the cocktails were very tasty. There is a very large choice of mezcal and tequila for all drinks and/or shots. My favorite dish was the beet and pumpkin empanada which was crunchy on the outside, and very flavorful inside, while coming with the perfect amount of guacamole, swiss chard and chimichurri. This is also one of the only places in the city where one can order a Carajillo with 43 !! A cocktail that I really miss and love. Although a little sweet, I’d come back just to get a carajillo, guacamole and chips. Their matcha drinks are good too. Including a standard matcha latte (non-alc) Industrial baños with ceramic-like sinks and rustic faucets was also a unique touch.

Well it's certainly a different cuisine that is served at Mexican and Tex-Mex Restaurants. If you like killing animals for food this ain't your place. Very innovative entrees served here. Very dog friendly and customer service is EXCELLENT!

Amazing chill spot - staff were all great!!! Food was 10+++ presentation and flavor were spot on (Tamal con Mole & Chorizo Burrito) then were we introduced to the churritos 🙈 I will return for all the things I wanted but didn’t get this time and suggest if you are reading this review to check out the spot

Great atmosphere and food! We ordered some good cocktails, tacos and a couple of plates to share and I would highly recommend the Chips y queso dip. That plate was another level, even though it’s so simple, but that mix with the coconut makes it very special

We really enjoyed dining here! Aside from the guacamole portion size being rather small everything tasted amazing. Everything that we got was very filling and wasn’t heavy. The Matcha y Coconut cocktail as well as the Gorditas were our favorites. The service here is also pretty good, we would definitely come back here!

We picked Jajaja for our friends anniversary dinner. Loved the vibe of the place, had fun interiors and had a peppy feel with the fun music with stayed with us throughout the evening. We reached earlier so we were offered a booth for party of 5, I must admit it was a bit tight. Carol was our server for the evening, she was fantastic. Carol and her team took great care of us, we were very happy with the service. The food overall was fantastic with the exception of Tres Amigos. Guacamole was amazing but the quest and sikil were disappointing. Rest of the dishes were delicious, flavors were on point. Do ask for the hot sauces, they have a mild, medium and hot sauce, all three are stunning and really lift the flavors of dishes. All drinks were on point too. We had a great time overall and would highly recommend Jajaja for a fun dinner experience.

Truly outstanding. The service was great but the food was fascinating. Visually and tastefully!! So good, would definitely return to get more of their flavor packed platters. Very abundant, in many ways. My favorite was the sweet potato taco and jackfruit tamale. Still have so many options to try though.

This was an interesting experience. First off, the food was delicious. The problem with the restaurant and all vegan food in general is it tries to imitate meat when I clearly came to dine here in order not to eat meat. The fish tacos tasted nothing like fish but rather like fried chayote fries. Sell them as such. Also the picante level here is a taco bell mild sauce or basically ketchup level. Please work on at least one salsa with real heat to it. True "Mexican food for white people" here. The margarita was good though.

This was my first time eating at this location and 2nd time at this chain. First of all, it’s delicious and you should try it, even if you’re not vegan. We got 4 types of tacos- the pollo coco, the spicy birria, the palm carnitas, and the mezcal mushroom. I think the palm carnitas was my favorite though I liked them all. Also the trio dip was great! I really want to go back for cocktails next because they looked so good

Wow!!! This was my expression when the food arrived. The place has a good vibe to it. For vegan lovers or vegetarian(no animal products except dairy) it’s the best place! Tried quite few dishes all were bang on. Visiting soon again!

Wonderful vegan restaurant with fabulous service and delicious food! We were pleasantly surprised by their drinks - it’s hard to get a matcha drink that actually reminds you of some matcha flavour (and with a cute cactus on top). The food itself was also quite satisfying. My friends got vegan chorizo and were both very satisfied with their food. My jackfruit which I assume was to imitate carnitas or other meat still had some ways to go. All in all, a good place to be with a great vibe and great service too. There’s an outdoor area in the front and the back so there’s plenty of option for outdoor dining still.

Incredible Vegan food, probably one of the best I've had, chic eclectic ambience, extremely welcoming staff and did I mention the food and drinks? All vegan options? And that too yummy and I'm not a huge carrot cake fan but my friend ordered it and that vegan, gluten free cake was delish!

  • 5/5 Amada A. 2 years ago on Google
Food was absolutely delicious! Today was my first time actually having a full vegan meal and I loved it. Prices were reasonable and very much the worth it was being that the food was great. Would definitely come back again. The place was nice, cleaned, enjoyed the dimmed lights. Plus my servers were very consistent and polite. Keep it up!

Wonderful ambiance, service, drinks and food!! Love it here! The Williamsburg location provides great food as well but this was the first JAJAJA I’ve sat down and dined in. Would return!
