I’m shook. These fried eggplant slices are bigger than my face and are the crispiest, lightest things I’ve ever had. And their pita is so soft and springy! I got a salad bowl for just $17 and I can’t even finish it because they loaded it with hummus and veggies. Come. Eat. Here.

It was closing time and I was craving for sabich. The guy was kind enough to let me order falafel platter and sabich sandwich. The sabich was phenomenal and authentic. It tastes exactly as I hoped it would be compared to the ones I had before. The guy even gave me all the remaining fried eggplants. They were perfect! Would eat again!

This fast casual spot in UES is delicious! The staff help explain the menu and items to you. Got the pita with the cauliflower, but I cannot stop thinking about the hummus at Tamam! Given the neighborhood, the prices are reasonable especially for such big portions. Note that the seating area is limited and most of the seats are outdoors. Would come back again just to try the hummus bowls.

Found this amazing joint on Lex yesterday. Menu is very simple - falafel, eggplants or cauliflower where you can do sandwich, salad or platter. A few tables outside but mostly for a quick pick up. I got falafel salad and eggplants sandwich with a side order of cauliflower. You can add any toppings for your salad which was super fresh and falafel were just simply delicious. Eggplants were amazing in a pita sandwich. When you don't have much appetite, this will def hit the spot

I had a good falafel platter. I liked it that it comes with so rich healthy ingredients. Location is good as well that they have outdoor seating. I should stop by and try other veggie options.

TRULY the most delicious middle eastern food I’ve had in NYC. Extremely generous portions (one platter will feed two folks easily, or two meals for one person). Everything is vegan and bursting with flavor. Anything fried (falafel, cauliflower, eggplant) is made fresh to order so nothing is ever sitting in grease. The salads are fresh and ridiculously tasty. My biggest problem is always deciding what to get, and I usually ending getting a side of whatever I don’t pick! (GET THE CAULIFLOWER!)

I had the pleasure of trying a fantastic sabich sandwich in the city. Being a pita enthusiast, especially when it comes to the vibrant streets of Tel Aviv, this delicious lunch instantly transported me back to the beloved street food of Israel that I crave. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, I do have a small suggestion: slicing the fried eggplant into more manageable pieces would make it easier to eat. Additionally, slightly reducing the frying time would help preserve the delightful flavors of the eggplant. On the bright side, all the other toppings were fresh and seasoned with delectable Middle Eastern spices. I can’t wait to come back to NYC and revisit!

I have been to many Mediterranean restaurants, and this one isn't a large place; it's mainly for grab-and-go or a quick bite. With only three dishes on the menu, however(!) they've nailed it! I recommend the falafel with cauliflower (its a $3 extra but it worth ut!) it's a great mix. Don't put anything on the bottom so your pita won't drip. ;) I think this is one of the better falafel pitas in NY.

I ordered the cauliflower pita it was just so darn good…: I’m not vegan I work in the area and I figured why not try it all my coworkers talk about it. Here’s my review honestly the best pit I ever had. New lunch spot

First time here for takeout and in general. Food here is great I would definitely visit again. I got the hummus platter bowl with pita bread. Had plenty for left over. 🥰

We stumbled upon Tamam and it was amazing, the service was fast and we were able to sit outside. We had the Falafel Pita and the Sabich Bowl. I really enjoyed the pita, the falafels were really moist and the entire thing tasted very fresh. On the other hand, the eggplant in the sabich bowl was really oily so we didn’t enjoy that one too much. But overall, great price point for the food and would definitely recommend this 100% vegan place.

One of the best falafel sandwiches ever! I stopped here for a sandwich randomly as I was looking for a vegan spot in the area. I ordered a pita with falafel and everything and it was just deliciously perfect! The falafel are fresh and so good, all the condiments as well and the ratio in the sandwich was perfect They are all very very nice and kind - they chat friendly with the costumers and get are very professional. The service is fast, the place is clean and the price are very reasonable Very very recommended

Some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had! Love all the fresh elements and the cauliflower was fried on the spot. Pita was so fluffy too! Large portion, good value. And the staff were so nice :) Great to see more vegan options in the area, 10/10 recommend

Simply amazing! Best comfort food in NY! Falafel so tasty, the fried eggplant so creamy and the cauliflower just perfect! Went there 5 times in two weeks to try all the menu and the quality was always spot on. Any dish was outstanding, it feels like ordering food in Telaviv. The condiments are layered incredibly in the pita so that you can taste everything in every bite! The pita chips just blew me away! Portions are generous. Just one recommendation: Go and visit!

Healthy vegan pita, bowl, or salad – we had the option of cauliflower and falafel, and they were delicious. They also had crispy eggplant that looked tasty. This is an example of a restaurant with a simple yet flavorful menu. The indoor seating space is small, but as of September 2023, they have an outdoor seating area, which seems reminiscent of the pandemic. The staff was nice, the ambience music was catchy and at a good volume, and the prices were good given the location.

A good vegan place to visit if you’re hanging out in upper East side of Manhattan. It is located at 77th and Lexington Avenue. They have good options. They have outdoor seating available.

Excellent falafel sandwich! Tasted fresh, the falafel balls were hot and crispy in a warm fluffy pita. 10/10. It may have exceeded the crowned Mamoun’s falafel in my book. If you’re in the Upper East side, a must go-to for a quick bite.

Great food!! We had the falafel sandwich, falafel platter, and a side of cauliflower. A must try.

Delicious and authentic falafel in a pita—the falafel was both crispy and fluffy with great flavor, the z’chug was intensely spicy, the pickles and salads tasted refreshing, and the pita was soft as a pillow. However, the tahini was somewhat watery for my taste. It wasn’t crowded when I came in, so it was quick, and the employee working the register was very friendly.

I was walking around the upper east side, belly rumbling. Found Tamam on Google searching for vegan spots. Truly, you gotta come here!! Everything is absolutely delicious & high quality, and the staff are really kind. Highly recommend trying the Falafel Platter!

Best fast casual Israeli restaurant! I’ve been several times and always have a positive experience. The employees are always so kind too. I usually get the salad with falafel and most of the toppings, it’s so flavorful! Don’t skip their fluffy pita!

I got sabich platter with everything and it was really yum!! The portion was very fulfilling and I'm glad I got platter because hummus bowl seems too heavy for one portion (total around $18). The fried eggplants were very good. There are outside tables and 2 inside tables but no restroom. I would recommend this place!

Decent falafel and hummus bowl, but the eggplant were not good at all - far too thin slices and very very oily. I was expecting much more to be honest.

  • 5/5 Jennifer L. 1 year ago on Google
Delicious hummmus bowls and saving sandwich! Portions are also very generous. If you’re getting the hummus bowl, do yourself a favor and buy at least one extra pita. So glad we decided to stop by for dinner. Definitely check this out if you’re on the area! It’s next to the Met, for great place to fuel up before your trip

Came here on a whim while wandering in the area and wow was I impressed! Delicious vegan food that was all freshly made and good portion sizes. The staff is very friendly, the prices are great, and they have a fair amount of outdoor seating. They have some drinks with labels in Hebrew but the staff was happy to explain what each was, and I would recommend the peach drink, so good! Can’t wait to come back.

The food is fresh and very tasty! Vegan friendly, with few different options. The falafel is crispy, the eggplant is not too oily, and the pita bread is so flafy!!

This place is great. Our favorite menu item is the falafel pita, but the other day I tried the eggplant salad bowl, and it did not disappoint. Both really delicious with super fresh ingredients. We were eating our falafel pitas while walking one day and someone stopped us to ask what it was because they smelled so good. Highly recommend!

Possibly THE best pita bread anywhere! The fillings were good but that bread, WOW. Warm, fluffy, and flavorful. Service was slowed as the line out the door had the staff working non-stop. Falafels were a good standard and overall portion is generous and very healthy. Would like to go back to try other veggie fillings.

The lightly fried eggplant is gluten-free and great for those allergic to wheat. I think they have two separate fryers to reduce contamination. The staff was very helpful and kind in assisting with my allergy restrictions. I had an eggplant platter without tomatoes and extra cabbage with some type of mango turmeric chutney. It was so flavorful! I’m so glad I found this spot and definitely going back again.
