Very authentic Russian style bar! I am Ukrainian so this brought me right back home. Delicious food and drinks. The staff is also very nice! This is exactly how the Russians and Ukrainians party back at home.

Interesting place. Yes, they have different vodkas, and lots of the guests were speaking Russian. It's a small, cozy little place. I just had a drink here, and it was very good. The staff is friendly.

Food and drinks are decent and fun atmosphere but make sure to ask for detailed itemized receipts. They automatically charge 20% gratuity on any bills and then don’t provide you with an itemized receipt when they bring the credit card receipts (unless you ask for it but who does late at night). So many times they got a 50% tip on until I realized this and the math wasn’t adding up when splitting the bill with friends. Then they don’t offer refunds on credit cards and the credit cards cannot do anything because you signed for that amount. I got ripped off so many times and because of that I will not be going back ever.

Thick Russian accents abound! Everything about this place is delightful. Every bite of food was to die for, every sip of alcohol was warming to both the body and soul. Every moment was gleeful in the presence of what felt like a local Small town Russian pub with excellent fare, good people and live music. Do yourself a favor: go here. Then go again. I HOPE I get the chance on my short trip…

The infused vodka is the specialty and is amazing, especially the cherry flavor. The staff are wonderful and unique. The live music just adds the cream on top. Love this place, we come here everyone we’re in town. 5/5

Very good food and atmosphere. Ignore the current Ukraine stuff. These people are not Russian or Russians that are as American as natives ( which they may be.) A fraction of the cost of the Russian Tea Room.

(Translated by Google) A cozy, chamber establishment with a certain sense of humor on the menu. You can spend a wonderful evening. And horseradish vodka is just a miracle! (Original) Уютное, камерное заведение с определённым чувством юмора в меню. Можно провести прекрасный вечер. А хреновая водка - просто чудо!

We went here last night for the first time and LOVED it. We sat at the bar and had such wonderful bartenders, and fantastic service from the manager on duty, Nikolai. We got the Russian dumplings, beef stroganoff, grilled Cornish hen, and lots of different shots of infused vodka which were all fantastic. Also got pate after maintaining for years that I hated it, and it ended up being my favorite thing I ate last night!!! Thank you for a great night!!

Has always been a spot for good drinks and cool vibes. Have been going here for years. They recently reopened with outdoor seating. Good selection of infused vodka. Food is of the European variety (it's Russian!). I miss hanging at the bar, but if you just want to hang with some friends over smooth vodka. Hit this place up.

I had a great experience in Russian vodka room. The bartender was super nice and patient with us (we couldn’t figure out what we wanted to eat) I like their duck spread (pastet) and home fries with mushrooms are the best

Absolutely love this place! Four years ago, we stumbled in here thinking it was a dive bar, and have come back ever since. I highly recommend their infused vodkas. I tried the garlic and it was unique, but great. Food was tasty and a good portion. My favorite was the gravalox and potato pancakes, which were crispy and flavorful. My husband had hot borscht, which he said was light and tasty. Great service and atmosphere!

One of my favorite restaurants for 7 years. Cannot be beat. Service is incredible, and always warm. Shots are fresh, pure, delicious. This is THE BEST BORSCHT in NYC. It's better than your grandma's. I promise you. My mom and I spent our Christmas Eve here, have brought my closest friends and family here since I first discovered the place. True NYC gym. The beef stroganoff is a must try. Great Chicken Kyiv too.

While waiting for a Broadway play, we decided to try this Russian bar after seeing the happy hour menu. As soon as I walked into this bar, he gave a great post-Soviet vibe that is really amazing. It may be a small bar, but it’s very cozy and warm. It’s very decorative of 🇷🇺 and I like the light fixtures of red light color. The staff is very friendly and had great Russian accents. Our waitress Angelica recommended us to try martinis for the happy hour, and she personally recommended the peach martini which I enjoyed as it was strong and had a great peach taste as if I was eating peach itself but it was balanced well with the alcohol. We also got a pomegranate martini which was good but soft compared to the peach. But it is really good for presentation as it has the nice red color to it and both drinks are great with the addition of lime. I was definitely happy with the service and satisfied with the drinks. Overall, I do love this bar and I will return one day to try their dinner menu.

Food, drinks and staff were superb! We had the horseradish and cranberry infused vodkas that were not only delicious but generous pours. For dinner I recommend the dumplings, lamb chops and braised ribs. Definitely worth visiting and conveniently located across the street from August Wilson Theatre. Will be back to this little gem!

Was here last night! The staff is super sweet and the food/drinks are awesome I had the lamb dumplings and the cheese platter along with the house-made raspberry and pineapple vodka There was a cool dude playing piano My friends and I got a little drunk and I cursed out a guy for being inappropriate with my friend, but nobody seemed bothered by me chewing him out! They were actually more supportive than bugged. All in all a good experience.

I used to go there often staring in early 2000s. Buckwheat with mushrooms and butter, vodka + salted mushrooms are worth the trip. I got drunk there too many times to remember. Fell asleep at the table once just to wake up because a girl was sitting on my lap. Good times.

Don't let the Christmas forever interior turn you off. The food is excellent! We tried the borscht, the eggplant trio appetizer the duck and the lamb shank. They were out of this world. The chicken Kiev was a little bit dry for my taste, but I am not a big fan of the chicken breast to begin with. Their dirty martinis are wort the trip for sure!

This place has stood the test of time by being consistent, no-nonsense, yet jovial (it's a piano bar at its core!) Vodka infusions that taste like fresh ingredients (garlic dill and pepper is legitimately refreshing) work together with some almost comically high end options to make space for anybody to enjoy a little dark corner of fallen opulence with a Russian sense of both humor and style. The late night food is also a welcome alternative to surrounding faux-diners - both authentic and Americanized enough to work with any palate.

This place is a blast. We only ordered the cheese platter for food, but it was very tasty. There are so many types of vodka and so many flavors. Watch out for the young Russian singer, though he will try to get you to $20 for a requested song. But the bar is awesome.

They charged me 21% tip without me consenting and that a few days later. We’ve waited quiet some time for the second round of our order and had to remind the service two times until she got it right there for tip was a bit lower than usual but despite that they charged what they wanted on the receipt as a tip I that’s just cheeky if not criminal and therefor not recommending going there. Was our last visit with the group.

This is my favorite bar in all of Manhattan. The drinks, food and ambiance is perfect and I feel the authentic experience coming here. I recommend the vodka, dumplings and entrees. Bo took great care of us ensuring our drinks were never empty with a great positive conversation.

Well, the borch soup was great. But the pirojki- you cannot call these pirojki sorry. And…. the kitchen was closing early and the waitress didn’t give us a heads up as the guests of this restaurant, and as a result i was hungry as I wasn’t able to order anything:(

Great place for drinks with friends/family. My friends used to heavily frequent this spot while they worked in the vicinity some years ago. I was introduced to it by them. The bartenders are welcoming and the entertainment/singers is always an added bonus. I even find that the other patrons to be quite pleasant at times.

The best bar in Manhattan. The drinks are so worth it!! Probably some of the strongest I’ve had ever. They really make it strong, you get your moneys worth here. Beware - A single Martini here will get you tipsy🤣 The bartenders are extremely nice and welcoming. Now this is a hidden gem!! Check it out and thank me later😉

My boyfriend took me to this wonderful establishment when I was in NYC to celebrate my birthday. Everything was fabulous. This is one of my new favorite places. We had several appetizers, drinks, and I enjoyed the beef stroganoff as my main course. Very kind staff. The musicians were also kind enough to sing happy birthday as they brought out a delicious piece a cake. I will certainly return when I am back in town :) A+ rating.

I think it was my favorite place in Manhattan. There's something about infused vodka. That stuff is straight up defy gravity fuel. I Thoroughly enjoyed my time there. You know what I'm just going to leave it on my bucket list in the hopes of returning . There's something to be said about culture , Russian Vodka Room is truly cosmopolitan.

A NYC gem - tucked away just off 8th Avenue on 52nd. This place has the feels of an age old NYC establishment reminiscent of the 90s. Friendly staff and a nice selection of flavored infused vodkas, other drinks and Russian food. If you are in the area seeking something authentic, I recommend.

Nice decor but the service and food are hit or miss. I made a dinner reservation with my friends but when I arrived there was no chair for me to sit on. So I took one from a neighboring table. However, a waitress said there is no room and exchanged it for a smaller flimsy one (while my friend had a normal chair). Of course I got it exchanged back to a normal one but that left an unpleasant feeling. As far as the food, hot borsh and shuba salad were really good but beef stroganoff had a very difficult to chew meat. The potatoes that came with it were on a drier side. Overall not a great experience. There are better Russian restaurants if you go to Brooklyn.

  • 3/5 Alexey D. 4 years ago on Google
I was only at the bar. I needed help of the bartender to understand the pricing written on the menu. Shot and rocks? Single or double... To be honest, the collection of vodkas especially russian vodkas could be more explicit, as long as you are vodka room or bar. Me and my friends enjoyed our choices of vodka, except cranberry drink which I ordered in a hope it has anything to do with the one from back home in russia. It didnt work for me at all. The vodka they use is very poor quality and it feels like it.

I reserved a month ago a table for Christmas eve, called the place to get a confirmation and everything was good on both side. Finally on the holiday we got there for our reservation at 10 pm, the server got us the menus and 5 min later came back and said the kitchen is closed, WHAT? How come I can make a reservation to dinner and then your kitchen is closed? Ok, we asked for something cold to get some drinks at least and he said there's no appetizers, we gave back the menus and start to walk out. No apologies, no empathy... WHAT A SERVICE! Thanks you so much for nothing!👍🏻 We went to some other restaurant instead. I do not recommend this place.
