Great place to chill and relax or even walk your dog. People are taking a nap, camping, reading, climbing trees, skateboarding, etc,. Close to Industry City, come visit if you are around. We haven’t been to sunset period, maybe next time.

You can't beat the view and the feeling of community. From the park you can actually view both the sunrise and the sunset. I used to go here for running - it's hilly and it's great for training. There's a soccer field, handball court, recreation centre, swimming pool and more. Even a farmer's market. It's smaller and not as touristy as other parks in BK.

See it to believe. Experience it and you may just want to return. It is summer time in Sunset Park. Members of the Chinese community are out in their numbers seated on the benches, doing group dancing of many different forms on several of the paved open areas, dancing with swords on the groomed lawns.... This park boasts of a very attractively built playground with bars, slides, a sand pit and interactive stations. There are also full-sized swings for kids of all ages. You may see community members grouped together to clean the park. You can find several people walking their dogs, playing sports on the court or on the grassy area. There is an Olympic sized pool that is of course a summer favourite. The park is one of the sites for city parks free summer sports camp for kids.

Sunset Park is a neighborhood in the southwestern part of the borough of Brooklyn in New York City, bounded by Park Slope and Green-Wood Cemetery to the north, Borough Park to the east, Bay Ridge to the south, and Upper New York Bay to the west.[1][4][a] The neighborhood is named after a 24.5-acre (9.9 ha) public park of the same name, located between 41st and 44th Streets and Fifth and Seventh Avenues.[5] The region north of 36th Street is also known as Greenwood Heights or South Slope.#fivestarcalifornia 🌻

Such a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline and the harbor and, as the name would suggest, the perfect spot to catch a beautiful sunset. Lots of areas to picnic and play volleyball, basketball, etc. Worth a visit - check out the many nearby Fujianese and Mexican spots while you're in the area.

Sunset Park is one of New York’s hidden treasures. Tucked away in the Brooklyn neighborhood that bares its name, this park is famous for its breathtaking vista. Sunset Park offers, at sunset, and at all times, stunning views of the rugged skyline of Manhattan.

I grew up in sunset park, yes the area has changed, but the park seemed timeless. I reminisced in my childhood in the winter sliding down the hill in makeshift cardboard sleds, digging holes and going to the pool. As I was walking through the park I saw children digging holes in the ground, children enjoying the pool, thing that were knew soccer field and track, the view of the Manhattan skyline and that of Brooklyn have changed but looking out at the city skyline I was doing the same thing I did as a child, looking at the building and trying to figure out which is which. Agast the twin tower I grew up were no longer there, and it no longer hold a unique look readily identified.

Awesome park to visit and have a quick picnic, grab some coffee, and sit on a bench, or just to take in the views of Manhattan, NJ, and the Statue of Liberty if you're in the area. There are a whole bunch of fried dumpling, banh mi, bubble tea, and taco shops in thw vicinity to grab some picnic goods.

I love Sunset Park but I brought my cat out to play and see how he liked the grass but there was not much grass. They really need to work on the landscaping.

Great large park. Highest natural point in Brooklyn I think. With views of downtown Brooklyn, Manhattan and the waters. Basketball court. Volleyball. Dog park. Benches. People walk around. Swimming pool in summer and a city gym.

Pretty cool park. There are cultural groups doing pretty cool stuff. Multiple different groups of people practicing dancing. Big soccer field for kids. Big area to take a stroll as well. Wish it was a bit cleaner, but it’s ok for normal outings.

Nice, peaceful relaxing day at the park. My family and I came from the Bronx to buy some mangoneadas. We saw this park on our way to nieves tia Mami. We risked coming here, even though it was kind of crowded and really hot. I definitely recommend this park to relax and enjoy the view of the city.

Great park for a relaxed day in Brooklyn. The skyline view from here is spectacular. There are eateries around to enjoy food while you lounge in the park. Parking is hard to find especially during weekends.

Awesome to see everyone out at the park having fun. The playground, courts, open spaces were all being used! There were line dancing classes going on. We need to take this energy back to our home town!

Went to the park on a visit to NYC. Very busy playground with sand pit on w/e. Much quieter during the week. Great views of the Statue of Liberty and NYC skyline in the park. All kinds of activities on the weekend. 5th street below the park has a busy retail/flower sales/restaurants area.

Really nice park. We went because we thought they had a fenced in dog park, but it was just an off leash lawn in the middle of the whole park. Ended up taking our dog elsewhere, but definitely plan on coming back without the dog to enjoy the area.

It was nice, there was seats, occasionally waking concession stands and loads of birds. Just very crowded so me and my friend couldn't really have fun without waiting. Overall it's very delightful when you forget there's hills.

Sunset Park has always been a great and chill place to take walks. Ever since I was little, I always had fun going there with my family. Especially going to those playgrounds. I may be too big and grown for them nowadays, but it's still very nice to see kids still playing and having fun altogether. Walking through Sunset Park really helps you take your mind off of any negative thoughts or conflicts that have happened. Just take your time to walk around, feel the sun, and smell the beautiful grass around you. And it's even better when you're walking with friends and family members. Talking about any of your problems and how you're feeling while in the park can really help you let go of any stress that is building up inside of you. I'm glad Sunset Park is still around. Definitely the best place to unwind from all of the stress and troubles going on in life. Especially in hard times like going through this global pandemic.

Great for walking your dog early in the morning. You'll find that many park-goers enjoy bring yheir dogs there and letting socialize with other dogs large and small.

If you like sunsets🌅 this is the right place. Also this park is very crowded on weekends😳😖

  • 5/5 Susan J. 2 years ago on Google
The park is alive with people. All ethnicities, ages, singles and families enjoying the crisp air and mild weather. A man is playing a horn, lit courts with children practicing, playground equipment busy, dogs run frisky up and down hills. Some steps and winding sidewalks are kinda steep. Still doable for the less 'athletic' The elevation of Sunset Park completely removes you from street traffic to emerse yourself with the city skylines, bay views, S O Liberty, rustic beautiful trees, and sunset (literally)

Awesome park! Very lively, lots of space for picnics, and great views of the sunset as the park's name would imply. Also great views of the Manhattan skyline. Recommended!

One of the most beautiful neighbourhood parks with a great view of manhattan and the Statue of Liberty; and as its name imply the park is the best place to watch the sunset, in addition to plenty of other activities you can do.

One of the most beautiful views in Sunset Park, the park it's way full of people for my liking but the kids had a nice time....

This park is incredible and it's absolutely all about the views. My photo that day was rushed because I had practice there but I can't wait to go back for a walk with a date. Absolutely breathtaking and if you're able to hop a train down to see it I think it's fully worth the time and the journey.

One of my favorite places in Brooklyn! It’s beautiful any time. Sunrises and sunsets are just magical. Summertime I used to work from there . Restrooms are clean and on weekends you can see intercultural food bazar and dances .

  • 5/5 Cindy J. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing multicultural green space. People laughing and hanging out. Absolutely astonishing views. Head up the hill to the volleyball court to watch a very competitive game of volleyball played with a slightly deflated soccer ball. In the morning there is music and line dancing and sometimes Tai chi.

It's the highest point in Brooklyn with great views of the Manhattan/NJ. There's plenty of families, playground for the kids, open fields for the doggos, and lots of other activities happening all around the park. Love coming here for the views and dog watching 🐶😍🌆
