We went to this park first time on a Sunday afternoon. It’s extremely quiet and peaceful. Since it’s not spring yet, the park was quite empty. It would be a lot nicer in a few weeks. We definitely enjoyed our time hiking here, and plan to come back again soon. Highly recommended this trail to everyone, especially families with younger kids.

First time I've been to this place, was to hike around. I did some Cafe deliveries before coming here. It'll be great to come here in the springtime but for fall season it's very cold. I started taking some photos and making sure I was aware of my surroundings. 👍 I felt like I was Ill prepared to come here because I was wearing dress shoes while stepping on rocks that go through my feet. And I wore so many layers of clothing and had gloves on and the slipperiest hat that I could have on my head.😕 Either way it's nice to have an experience walking around this place. 👌🌄🙂 Someone from my group told me it'll be nice to camp here and I said yeah "maybe". This is a couple of miles away from The JCC. So next time if I do come here I'll be prepared and ready. If you want to climb some hills and take walks with your dog 🐕, come here if you want.

The best kept secret on Staten Island. Come here to get away and take a quiet walk or run. Trails are always maintained and safe. Grab a map and go already.

Its ok wasn't the greatest. Trail wasn't clear. Lots of bugs, particularly mosquitoes, gnats ect. Was my first time with bulk of my walkin the northeast entrance on Staten Island Blvd entrance. Only got to entrance to moses mountain. Next time will start in the middle of park. The lake was really nice and breezy before sunset. Will definitely consider it for mountain biking though.

Took a bit to get there with the bus, especially when the driver didn't know anything about the park, but found it after a half hour of walking. Several trails to walk, you really need good hiking shoes as the trails are very rocky, and some are slippery, did not see any wildlife, there is a bird trail with a wooden walkway, beautiful lake that you can sit by or fish, some benches along the way, trees were still mostly green. Will definitely go back with better directions. Update! Went back found the main entrance, could use better signs to show the way in. Saw an eagle catch a fish, saw a bluejay, still very enjoyable.

Change your park hours! Make sure to mention that the gate to the park closes at 5pm! My car was stuck in the parking area due to the gate closing at 5pm when online it says it closes at 1am. It's ridiculous. Taking a look at the gate , with the most tiniest letters it says the closing time 5pm. Nobodys calling to find out information about parks, they check online. So make sure to prepare people for that. It is so ridiculous. FIX HOURS INFORMATION, THAT NORMAL PEOPLE CAN SEE REAL ,CORRECT INFORMATION. IF I COULD, I WOULD PUT 0 STAR, BUT NOT FOR PARK ,BUT FOR PERSON WHO'S RESPONSIBLE FOR ONLINE INFORMATION. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN ANY PARKS. 👎👎👈👎👈

The getaway in Staten Island it was pretty nice to know that this park exists in the city and you don't have to travel far outside from Brooklyn to experience nature. There were some dilapidated boy scout structures which needed some repair or upkeep other than that it was a nice hiking trail but be mindful that you criss cross the boy scouts territory along the way which is considered private property.

A great place for a quick walk through the woods. Decent elevation changes to get the heart rate up, and some pretty water features to look at. Complete with bathrooms and running water to refill your canteen. Overall not bad for a park that can make you feel as if you've completely stepped out of the city.

Too many mosquitoes...paths Too rustic...great for experienced hikers not for beginners. Better maps needed with clear accurate descriptions.. But nevertheless less I am glad that such a natural location is available for those able to use it. If it wasn't preserved now it would have been lost forever. Mary thanks to the volunteers.

Great urban hiking spot. This place is the reason a city kid like me developed any interests in hiking, exploring and an appreciation for nature. Local history of the area is also interesting. Lots of different well blazed trails for hiking, strolling, bird watching and running. Never too far from a road. Little lakes and seasonal streams. Good place to come with kids for a day out. Bring lots of bug spray and maybe avoid during height of summer as it’s swampy and the mosquitoes are EVIL.

If the weather is too hot, a nice place to walk with all the trees around. Follow designated colored paths marked on the tree trunks. Tables are located in the entrance if you want to rest or if you brought food. BUG SPRAY IS A MUST. take note of the closing of the gate in the afternoon. Have fun.

Nice trails, a little busy during the weekend but it was still fun. I personally find the other sections of the Greenbelt to be more immersive but this is still a nice part!

Best time of year to go. Be sure to arrive early on weekends as parking space is very limited.
