Best park in Queens. Has everything from tennis courts to bike trails and even an adventure course. Nice BBQ area by Springfield Blvd. The paths here are scenic and they connect to Cunningham park as well. Personally like the Douglaston side of the park better but the whole area is great for getting fresh air and taking in nature

5 Star Dense FALL Color on Leaves. Take an opportunity to explore ALLEY Pond Park & Oakland Lake right off Springfield Avenue & 47th Aven entrance from Northern BLVD. If your in the neighborhood. Four Seasons is what I LOVE about New York. Walked briefly around this small hidden lake wonder, surrounded by Fall trees. The dense tree cover helps one feel tucked away in Nature among dense Fall leaf colored trees. As your walking around Oakland Lake .6 mile paved pathway around lake, you can also dip away for a closer view of the lake, off beaten path. I'm so fufilled at having a chance this morning recharge in Nature. Who knew this beautiful public space in nature existed in NYC- Queens Burough. Been such a chaotic working, a nice break squeeze in. Be on the look out for water fowl, Swans, geese, ducks, and heron. Enjoy!

Was here on March 19 2022 to do some vinecutting. Walked from Northern Boulevard down the yellow trail. NYC's Natural Areas Conservancy is putting a lot of effort into this park. The size of it is very impressive. Returned April 1 2023 for tree planting with several others and NYC's Natural Areas Conservancy. Took Q30 from F at 169th. One large park! Lovely parking protected bike lane.

A nature experience in NYC. I love the trails, trees, perennials and vegetation. In Spring, the park awakens and comes alive!! After Central Park, it's the best in the City. 11 z.

The second largest park in Queens. The LIE, Grand central Parkway and Cross-island Parkway run through the park. Beautiful and great place for nature walk in the woods or engaging in various activities in the more open areas. The park also offers educational programs. A great escape to nature from busy city life without having to travel far.

We took a hike, that was easy and enjoyable. The weather was perfect for it. The park is kept clean. As we get further into the warmer days it will get crowded.

Enjoyed a great Sunday in the park, and we spent almost 3 hours on the free adventure program. (Need to be there before 1pm to register for this Sunday program). There are plenty of BBQ, picnic areas, and places for kids to run around.

Highly Recommend especially during social distancing : I recommend driving slowly into the parking lot because the road is split to 2 ways and it is very narrow and has sharp turns so you can’t see beyond the turn. We found parking with no issues. Lots of space to have a tent or picnic blanket as well as some nice open sports. Overall happy with the amount of people there on a sunny day. I’ve seen parks like Cunningham packer and uncomfortable. Alley pond has more to offer. The trails however are hard to stay on track. That’s the fault I feel with the park. When trailing in forest park the trees have the colors on it so you don’t get lost or decide to switch to another path. Here, you see 1 sign and almost a half mile later you see a 3 colored sign and you become off your color track. But the trails are beautiful. Nice scenery and scent to outdoors. Overall spent an hour hiking and walking around. Very nice and easy to get back to beginning where all the people are. I would recommend if you don’t like large crowds.

The staff were so informative at the environmental center. After our educational portion of the tour, we took a walk around the park. Everything was so beautiful and clean! I would definitely come back here.

My daughter gives this place a 10/10. We went for a school trip and I had low expectations. It was a rainy morning but their center is indoors where they have animals for the kids to see and touch. They give great information about animals and their environment. The staff were very nice to the children and answered all questions these kids threw their way. They were patient and kind. They take you on a short walk where you mostly see squirrels and birds. I like how our guide Erica lifted up a log to show the kids mushrooms and insects that lived underneath. It was a cool experience .

Great green space/park. The northern section has lots of unpaved trails to explore. There are also a number of ball fields. Usually you can find street parking.

The Alley Pond Park is an amazingly beautiful park with plenty of trees and huge grass fields which are great for being playgrounds. The trials are wide, flat and perfect for kids and elders. There are also lots of spots with benches and tables for picnic. The majority of facilities were closed recently due to the COVID-19 situation. One of the best things was the restrooms had been re-opened for visitors last weekend.

What an amazing place to go for a walk. If you walk through the woods, you would hear sounds of birds chirping. Absolutely amazing in the summer and fall. Summer is full of green trees and in the fall, fall foliage is really amazing as well. Highly recommended 10/10

Been here a couple of times now. Recently purchased a range card which is basically getting credit on a card at a discounted rate (paid $244 for $300 worth of credit). They offer two sizes, small and big (70/150 balls respectively) for $11 and $16. I have had to wait before on the weekends (morning). Each stall has a fan and heating system. Not the nicest driving range ever but definitely gets the job done. Each stall has a mat and a rubber tee. Free parking as well.

Perfect balance between nature and community. There’s always activities going on here, and lots of long wooded trails to walk on. Plenty parking, plenty places to sit and not be bothered. Not many worries about ticks given that it’s smack in the middle of an urban sprawl. Many woodland birds can also be found here. If ya’ll could stop littering, that’d be great too.

Simply beautiful! Lots of walking and biking paths, with a very nice visitors/ecological center that is geared towards educating kids about the wonders of nature and how to respect it. If you have a chance to sit and enjoy the wooded areas, you will be surrounded by a tranquil experience that transports you to another realm.

We didn’t really roam around the whole park, but we stayed there for a while and ate and just played with our pets. Not much people in the area and that’s how we likes it, our bunnies can even run around without a leash.

Walking around the lake is another activity that we look forward to. The pathway is well-maintained and offers great views of the water, and it's just the right distance for a family outing. My kids particularly enjoy the creek area. It's a safe and engaging space for them to explore and get a little wet, under supervision of course. They love skipping stones, and just enjoying the simple pleasures that a creek can offer to young adventurers. during the fall season. The foliage surrounding the lake transforms into an explosion of color, making it the perfect backdrop for some stunning photos and peaceful walks. It's such a serene environment to reconnect with nature.

Gave it a 4 because the place is very nice to visit since it has a park, open field for playing around, and a place to sit and eat. But, I gave it a 4 because it's missing the pond in Alley "Pond" Park, get it what I did there?

Beautiful park. This park is great for everything. It is large enough to wear. You can truly find all that you’re looking for. If you want some interactive summer areas to potentially barbecue, take dogs on beautiful nature trails, or even get on a bike and ride the trails. You really can never go wrong with this park.

Large park with a variety of things to do. There are quiet (weekdays) trails as well as a playground and baseball field. Popular with local pet owners. There’s even a small area with some exercise equipment suitable for elders. There are working restrooms anda picnic area. Nice place to watch the seasons change.

Early enough to see the dog training session. The forest is a good meditative area; many paths to explore, ponds to see, turtles, birds and dogs with their owners, a chipmunk and a squirrel or two. A great workout or tranquil walk for all. I suppose, wheel chairs, for those with suitable equipment and athletic capabilities; otherwise, the open air park is extremely clean and clear, well maintained with wide paths. There is a main walking, running, biking path also that will challenge the best. My suggestion: sit on a bench and reflect, see, smile, pray... meditate...connect with the natural. Have a blessed day. P.S. Wear light weight long sleeves, goggles, mask and a cap in the forest this time of year; there are some pesky mosquitoes and gnats.

Great park for a lot of different outdoor activities. Walking, running and biking. I usually come here for walks/runs and it's great for exercise anytime of the year. This connects to Cunningham Park so its a really huge park you can explore. (The most eco-diverse in the city) During foliage, the runs/walks through the parkway here are really nice, you're surrounded by colorful foliage throughout the trail. Probably my favorite time to go here. Highly recommend.

I biked the Vanderbuilt Motor Parkway. The first mile or so was recently reconstructed and had fresh asphalt. It's nice to be off the road and away from cars. Moderately trafficked by families and individuals. Some steep downhills heading back towards the park, bicyclists need to watch their speed going through. Not too much to look at but pleasant trail and great to feel a bit out of the city among the tree scapes.

Awesome park! Not the most well maintained but it's huge and has a big variety of activities and I love that dogs are allowed. They even have off leash times during the morning but I've found there are usually at least a couple groups of off leash dogs for them to socialize and play.

A large park in Queens with an environmental center hosting some interesting animals, a playground and adventure course, and an excellent collection of well-marked and maintained trails. There is also a saltwater wetland section and the tallest tree in NYC in the north section of the park, although there is no park connector and you must exit the park and cross roads to get there.

Every Spring, Summer and Fall I go to Alley Pond park. This has been a tradition for as long as I can remember as a child. Spacious and has many trails to walk. I recommend planning a picnic here but arrive early especially on the weekends. Bring bug repellant always. Majority of the time you will catch some baseball games, tennis or American football. If you do plan on walking around bring extra water!
