I enjoyed visiting the Little Island shorty after the opening. As an attraction it’s a nice to take a stroll through but there’s not a whole lot to do. You can’t sit in the landscape, only walk through or sit in a few designated areas; which isn’t terrible and understandable. They have nice little landscape features to make music on and some for optics. It’s a fun walk for kids and to escape the towering cityscape. It’s also nice to be on the water. The amphitheater is beautiful and the restrooms were clean. While it’s a nice attraction to be added to the city I think the money could have been better spent helping others in nyc that need it way more. Plenty of organizations and projects. But since it’s here and here to stay, I would suggest it is worth a pass through. It has nice views and isn’t a bad time.

This is such a beautiful Little Island. It has very little Shade. We went on a very hot day (90 degrees) and did not know what to expect. I personally love plants and gardens, so I tried to take as many photos as I could so I could enjoy what I saw later. It was so hot that I couldn’t even see the photos I was taking. I was just hopeful I was getting a good shot. There was a sign for a “park”. I have three children, if there was a park, we all missed it. It’s possible we were all over heated and couldn’t see. However, we did not see a “park”. We saw what looked like a food court. It was a somewhat shaded area. We did not stay long. We just followed the path, admired the beauty, and left. Go on a cool day or take an umbrella for shade.

If you are in NYC near Chelsea there are lots of places to go to, one of them is Little Island, you should come for sunset and get the best pictures!! Good place to go for a walk, meet with friends and just relax, the views you get are absolutely beautiful so get ready your camera! It’s close to Chelsea Market so you can grab a take out food and enjoy it here with a nice view!! I think it’s pets friendly, it’s very clean and there are restrooms also!! I highly recommend to anyone that likes sunsets, go for walks or it’s just near the area!! This is my new place to go to wherever I go to the high lines !!

Little Island is an absolute gem. I took my cousin here for his birthday and he loved it. This is a great spot for an outdoor kinda date or to take in some spectacular views. There is also a stage for theatrical/musical performances, which I bet will be a popular summer venue. Bathrooms are immaculate, CLEANEST PUBLIC BATHROOMS I have ever used, in my life. Bathrooms have a really cool setup; each sink has a built-in soap dispenser + hand dryer. So freaking cool. This park is a worthwhile day-trip destination for tourists and locals!

First of all, the structure itself, IS THE AMAZING PART. Not the park that sits on top. The park has nothing to offer. You only get one nice view of lower Manhattan and then the rest is New Jersey. Which you can see from the pier. The structure that holds the island is more interesting and beautiful than the park on top which is just sad and ridiculous. Both should be a wonder.

Super cute green public space /park. You can pack a picnic if you want to sit at the lawn and enjoy. They also have 2 food trucks that serve sodas, water beer and wine along with snacks and some sandwiches. Live music was playing, kids were rolling on the grass. Great afternoon. Clean and nice Public restrooms are available as well.

Very cool park! A nice walking path around the park with plenty of steps up and down. Great views of jersey and downtown Manhattan. Clean bathrooms Surrounded by water on one side and charming nyc neighborhoods on the other. Also has a nice large market on the pier next door Definitely recommend visiting

Little Island, a new, free public Park pier within the larger Hudson River Park, opened to the public on May 21, 2021, providing a unique green space unlike any other in New York City. Components of the pier, nestled among more than 350 species of flowers, trees and shrubs, include a 687-seat amphitheater and an intimate stage and lawn space, along with dazzling views of other portions of Hudson River Park, New York City and the Hudson River. The landscape provides a visually surprising and inspiring experience as visitors walk across the park. The plantings are varied to provide an environment that changes with the seasons, with flowering trees and shrubs, fall foliage and evergreens. More than 66,000 bulbs and 114 trees have been planted, some of which will grow to 60 feet tall. The Island’s distinct exterior is supported by concrete piles. On top of the piles, 132 concrete “tulips” make up the structure of the park. Each tulip’s shape is unique and has a different weight load capacity to hold the soil, lawns, overlooks and trees. The original Pier 54 piles remain to provide habitat for aquatic life. Since in June, Little Island started hosting a season of programming to foster and support New York City based artists. The majority of events are free, and ticketed events are primarily free or low-cost. There are also performances and educational programming six days a week, with offerings from music, circus, spoken word and more. Programming ranges from surprise performances with local performers to special events with renowned New York City arts organizations.

This is one if not the most beautiful park (after Central Park) in New York City! The place is amazing, the architecture is remarcable and the entire venue is super well maintain and fun for the entire family! They have a beautiful open auditorium with an breathtaking view of the bay that will make your day 💪 Do not miss the opportunity to explore and enjoy this park 🙏

Little Island is a lovely spot to go for a “little” stroll. They have trails you can follow with little fun things to do or find on certain corners, like those spinning arts, music tiles and a couple more. If there are no events, there isnt really much to do here other that walk around, chill and enjoy the view. We loved our fall visit as the weather was fine and of course we get to enjoy the colours of this “garden”. I actually like that it was just a simple, no-pressure and stress-free visit. Plus in just an hour or so, youve pretty much have explored the whole area. Great addition to NYC for sure.

Fun public park to visit! The structure is so unique, fascinating to go up to and look at all the little things that make it fun and different. I loved that there were a lot of little interactive areas, such as musical areas that sound like a xylophone, optical illusions, and other cute little nooks and crannies. Many different areas that are perfect for photo ops. The view from the top is stunning, unlike any other views of NYC I'd seen. Truly a gem, worth the visit.

We went to explore this park in June and we were amazed by the views, the design and the amount of beautiful plants and flowers. What an interesting architectural solution to observe! It might be a little hot without an umbrella, be aware. There is also a stage that I would love to visit some day for an event.

I came here during the winter and the fields were covered in snow. It was so beautiful plus the sight you see of the City especially at night time are breathtaking. I would definitely would want to come back and see the place during the day to get different views. Pretty cool that it’s man made you wouldn’t know that when you’re on it but walking up to it looks like science fiction.

It is a beautiful place to enjoy some music and great views in a peaceful atmosphere. Peace and quiet with some greenery isn't that easy to find in the city. There's a place to buy food and alcohol. You can bring your own picnic basket and have picnic on the grass. There is a public restroom in the park. The views are simply breathtaking.

I really like it, it is a really nice place. But you need tickets to get in, specially at weekends, so I recommended check the availability before and book it! (really easy). I prefer to go to this beautiful park on week days because you don’t need tickets before 11:30am. It has a few stairs to get to the top, but the landscape is amazing. You have places to eat and rest with your family or friends. It is a perfect place to get pretty good Instagram photos.

Beautiful breathtaking views, musical art installation( fun for young and old), unique park, a bit crowded. Enjoy the greenery, and a selfie opportunity( though it may be hard at times to get it done, especially on weekends and holidays). Restrooms available, NO admission fee. NO DOGS ALLOWED, it's crowded enough without them. There is an amphitheater where you can sit and enjoy the views and a shaded eating area for lunch, and snacks are available for purchase. Also at the bottom of the attraction, there are some very unique benches to rest and relax.

Lots of fun at this park! You need a reservation to get in on the weekends or later in the day during the week, but it’s easy to do online. A unique and well-designed area right on the Hudson River. Beautiful plants and flowers, nice views, fun winding paths to walk, and an amphitheater. Great little park!

I have been trying to make it here for sometime. Finally did and so pleased! What a beautiful place. Green spaces refuel my spirit & energy and this place was able & willing to easily manage that. Very tranquil and relaxing to mosey about and enjoy the beautiful city & water views too. With the clocks set back I managed to arrive well after dark; but that didn’t hinder my experience. Will definitely try to visit again during all times of day and seasons as I’m certain it will be magical each time. Brilliant architecture and genius design. Very cool. Don’t miss the audio tour and play/dance a foot tune on your way out!

This right here is little island..... which of course you got fun the name. It's a nice spot just to walk or to take a break and relax. Opens from 0600-0100 the next day but at noon you have to go online to schedule a time. they have breakfast when I went and it was delicious. That chicken sausage, egg and cheese on the brioche bun was everything. The cappuccino was very good too!

The Little Island looks like a series of cocktail glasses jutting out of the water. The man made creation has a few overlooks and an amphitheater. It almost feels like an extension of the high line. Fun trip if you like to hang out in Chelsea like I do.

This place is so good and feels like you are floating on water. There are always some kinds of program always going on here. There are so many types of flowers and plants as well. Best time to visit would be the sunset. The fact that it is close to Chelsea market is another advantage. Also there are a lot of musical instruments where all the kids were enjoying trying them out. Best spot to visit with friends in NYC

So pretty. Go before 12pm. After 12, there are timed entries - you reserve your spot online. As you approach from 14th street, its really pretty to look at from afar. Walk up the ramp and you enter this surprisingly wonderful green space. There are food trucks and tables to sit. Lots of lovely benches scattered around. Ramps throughout for those who have difficulty with stairs. There was an annoying guy on a piano playing the same ABBA song over and over - could have been a kids music class? Lots of little paths to walk and explore. They also have an amphitheater where they have various performances. Easy train ride (if you take the A). Also scattered throughout the park are these wonderful interactive art stations.

Cute island that acts as an oasis in a metropolis like New york City. It is located near the end of the Highline Park trail, so it is a nice place to come visit after a relaxing walk on the trail. Lovely design looks like many tiny islands as the foundation, yet none of those is shown as you are on the island itself. Great trails for walking and able to view the cities as well as the Pier, depending on your location. When you are done roaming around, there is another end to exit the island, not needing to repeat the path.

A beautifully constructed park that felt secured and well kept. There is a gate that closes off the park at 11pm. It was pretty busy but we enjoyed the sunset here on a weekday. A food truck is located in the main circle stage area along with picnic seating. There was a free small concert going on at The Glade stage area with upcoming show times listed. Many people enjoying sitting in the amphitheatre reading and chatting. There are also several viewpoints around the park to walk up stairs to and explore. The views of the city, the sunset and the moon were spectacular.

Not worth the hype. The first time our parents went they said we needed tickets. We went with them the second time and they weren’t checking for tickets but the place was a mad house!! People congregating at the top where the best views are so you can’t even take pictures. No where to sit in the grass because there are way too many people.

With a powerful camera, you can even see the statute of liberty in the distance. Throughout the place, there were interactive things like hula hoops, jump rope, wobbly chairs, musical stepping plates, and more. Mostly the view and atmosphere is what's worth going for.

I had never heard of this place until I walked past it. I loved how quiet and isolated this place was. I went during the winter (so I am sure that had to do with the amount of people) but it was great not having to deal with a lot of people. For such a “small” park, there was a lot to discover. If I lived in the area, there is no doubt I would visit this park regularly!

We went here early on a Sunday morning, so it was pretty much just us and a few people jogging around. This place is quite pleasant - lots of little spaces to walk around and explore and enjoy the scenery. We could even see the Statue of Liberty from part of it. Since it was so early we didn't get to try any of the food or see any entertainment or anything, but as someone who likes walking around parks and greenery it was really nice. Since it was November a lot of the trees still had their colorful leaves and there were some little birds flying around. Will definitely come back here if we end up in the city again.

Nestled along the Hudson River, Little Island emerges as a whimsical and enchanting addition to New York City’s landscape. This vibrant park, built on a series of futuristic-looking artificial hills, offers visitors a delightful escape from the urban hustle and bustle, showcasing a blend of nature, art, and entertainment. Upon stepping onto Little Island, visitors are immediately transported to a world of wonder. The park’s unique design, characterized by undulating pathways, lush greenery, and striking architectural features, creates an immersive and playful atmosphere that invites exploration. One of the highlights of Little Island is its diverse array of performance spaces, where visitors can enjoy live music, theater, dance, and other cultural performances against the backdrop of the river and city skyline. From intimate amphitheaters to open-air stages, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, making it a hub of creativity and expression. Whether it’s lounging in a hammock, picnicking on the grassy lawns, or simply taking a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade, there’s no shortage of ways to relax and unwind in this urban oasis. While Little Island may be small in size, its impact is anything but. As a beacon of creativity, community, and sustainability, it serves as a testament to the power of public spaces to inspire, connect, and uplift. Whether you’re a local looking for a peaceful retreat or a tourist seeking a unique New York experience, a visit to Little Island is sure to leave a lasting impression.

This has always been a curiosity - urban art installation, community green lung or tourist attraction. It’s all of the above and probably more! Amidst the congested, high density, and chaotic nature of Manhattan this resembles a delicate hideaway to run away to. Many people appear to have the same idea. Given its popularity and the resultant crowds, there’s not many places on Little Island you can hide in. Love the fact that it’s free and accessible. I wonder if this is regarded as a prototype that can be replicated for other land-starved cities?

If you are in NYC this is a “must” place to go. There Website asks you to book tickets after 12pm to enter, which I did but when I got there you don’t really need them at all. Check the bathrooms, the ceiling is unique. Just opened on May 21 2021, and it cost $200+ million, it covers 2.4 acres, and it’s supported by 132 pot-shaped structures called “tulips”.

We love little island. It’s so lovely, such attention to detail, so wonderfully crafted. Lots of great photo ops. It can get quite busy, so expect crowds on evenings/weekends and when the weather is nice. 2 great outdoor arts venues - check out their website for show listings. There are a couple food trucks on site, small tables, and bathrooms.

The best place in NYC to sit and relax or enjoy music and dance. This artificial island has exceeded my expectations. The island is incredible well designed. It is full of flowers and plants around nice wooden sidewalk. There are also some viewpoints which I recommend to visit. On the further side there is a theater where is a lot of space to sit and simple enjoy sunset.

Magnificent miracle in a pretty commercial part of the city. Separation from the bank of the river is short but it's enough to bring you to another dimension. Their coffee is total garbage. Bring your own.

Little Island is a must go for New Yorkers and tourists, every time I see it prior to going in, just watching them above water is mesmerizing. It shows how great we human can be to create and build. There are also exotic trees and flowers on this concrete jungle. Highly recommend to spend some time there to see the plants and the view there is amazing.

Little Island in New York City is a true gem! The views from this spot are simply breathtaking. Whether you want to relax and unwind in the serene seating areas or take in the bustling energy of the city, Little Island has it all. The fact that there's no entry fee is a fantastic bonus, making it accessible to everyone. The vantage points offer incredible panoramas of iconic landmarks like the World Trade Center, New Jersey City, and the beautiful riverside. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while still being right in the heart of it. A visit to Little Island is well worth it – a perfect blend of tranquility and vibrant urban scenery that you won't want to miss!

I stumbled upon this wonderful spot while researching free things to do in the city. It's conveniently located near the Highline, making it a perfect addition to your visit. It’s an oasis of calm amidst the bustling energy of New York. The moment you step onto the place, you're transported to a serene natural environment. It's an ideal escape from the city's hectic pace. This charming place has something for everyone. There's a small park for kids to enjoy, and you'll find a few places to grab a bite or a drink. But what I loved most was the opportunity to simply sit by the river and savor the tranquility. The view of Manhattan is absolutely breathtaking, offering a unique perspective of the city's iconic skyline. The best part is that it's free to visit, making it accessible to all. Whether you have 30 minutes or an hour to spare, I highly recommend including this place in your itinerary. It's a fantastic way to enjoy astonishing views and experience a different side of New York City. Don't miss out on this hidden treasure!

Little Island is a newly created public park in NYC located in Hudson River Park. This is the place for New Yorkers and visitors to experience unique urban oasis where art meets nature. It is open late till 11 pm. Park provides an awesome view of Hudson River areas and is surrounded by it. Food trucks are available closer to picnic seating areas. There is no entry fee, and you can hop off/on high line from this park. There is a steel archway at one of the entrances in this park. This archway would have been docking spot if Titanic completed its maiden voyage. This is the archway where Carpathia docked with the survivors of Titanic. This is the reason why that archway looks dated and rusty, yet it has been preserved.

What a cute place. They did really well with it. Scenic, gives the feeling of being in the mountains as many said as we passed them. Creative and unique. Wish we had more time to have been able to stay and watch the afternoon entertainment. We were told by my friend it is great for sunsets too.

Such a beautiful park!! So calming and so soothing. From what I saw, there were 2 food trucks with different menu items. I attached one of the menus. I came when they were performing in the arena, the Music and Dance Festival: Black Women in Music. It was AMAZING! I didn’t get to take any good pics because I didn’t have a close enough view. However, the performers sang such beautiful music, I had such a great time. I definitely will be back soon!!

Such a nice pretty park to spend could of hours in. The architecture is very nice and it’s built inside the river. Inside there’s a lot of slopes and landscape for both adults and kids to have fun. It can get a bit busy as it’s famous for the families. There is no entry fee and inside you can find kiosks to buy drinks or small bites

It's a fun park. You can walk up to the observation area and look over the Hudson. A view of the Lady in the distance as well. The 'food' truck had fancy water in a box, which we enjoyed as we listened to local pianists play a melody on the piano. I remember seeing a playground that Littles would enjoy, and we never made it over to the amply theater.

I love Little Island, I had the pleasure of visiting it 2 months ago and I found it wonderful. It has spectacular views of the bay, some very dynamic and fun sculptures like a panel that makes music when you step on it, or like the rotating discs that seem to hypnotize. It also has a large conservatory where you can enjoy music and views of the bay. This place is an unbeatable experience.

We may have been there at the end of December, but it was still a nice place to visit. We've been wanting to see this park since it was featured in the Sunday Morning CBS program. A few comments about the cleanliness: outstanding. There were city workers that continually swept, picked up trash and kept up the park the whole time we were there. We also like to learn about the history and evolution of places like this and they had an app you could access on your phone and hear about the different spots on the paths to stop and learn the history of the area and the park. And finally, when you are out for the day, you really want to know where the bathrooms are. These were clean and well kept, warm even though it was in the 40's outside and tucked away into what looked like a cave. The amphitheater was nice and offered a place to relax while we ate our snack. There was also a playground area and lots of little place to sit and eat. At the corners of the island you could get some great pictures. My only regret is not coming on a clear day at sunset where I'm sure the pictures would have been spectacular.

This place is just AMAZING, I love it! The location is perfect and FREE to enjoy the most beautiful, unbelievably stunning sunsets! These pics and videos were taken with my phone, #nofilters, taken in late afternoon, and the sunset on this memorial day weekend was "postcard ready. The place was particulary packed with people of all ages and tourists from all over the world. It's a place to connect with mother nature, have a picnic with family or friends, and kind of have a feeling of being somewhere else for a while, the gorgeous green areas, all the colorful flowers and the ocean breeze are all the elements to have a perfect day. Vendors are affordable, not that expensive, food is decent. The bathrooms are very nice, very clean, enought lighting, very modern inside and "cave look" in the outside. The best part in #littleisland is The Amphitheater, It's huge, well designed, all spectators can enjoy an unobstructed views of the stage, the ocean, and the sunset from any seat location. Beautiful place, #littleisland is worth the visit 💯

What a sight to take in from the land and then to walk out on!? Little Island ended up being a pleasant surprise for us after walking on the Highline. It's truly an architectural delight and quite pleasing to visit. We went on a Sunday when the weather was agreeable. The plantings and design are lovely, and there's some kiosks for food and drinks. It's a great place to post up at and take in the salty air. Do put it on your list!

Lovely little park for a walk. Probably better in the summer. I was there early so not many people. Nice views of the city. Good for wheelchairs. They have a small stage area. You can do a self guided tour by scanning a QR code. Area with chairs and tables to enjoy lunch. Overall nice place to visit.

Interesting architecture and design, definitely a good spot for viewing the city and the harbour, a more sunny day would earn a very nice dusk and sunset view too, they specifically have a stage for people to enjoy and immerse themselves in the sunset atmosphere. Unfortunately it was cloudy and rainy when we went there. Plants and flowers and decorations are well looked after too. Nearby construction sites are a bit of a downside but ok

The island it self was very artificial but the middle of the island was like another world. You can find spots to picnic and climbing all the way to top of the island allows you to see the sea view. Highly recommended for a chill afternoon visit.

This is such a gorgeous park. Tons of people but didnt feel overwhelming. Mix of steps and steady incline to get to the highest view point. Lots of things to interact with along the way. There were a few food truck type options I believe. Plenty of places to sit and eat or just chill. A really beautiful and clean bathroom. Looked like you were in a cave. It was actually one of the nicer public bathrooms in NY period. Gorgeous views from the top of the hill. Would absolutely come here all the time if we lived in NY. Stunning park really.

Beautiful little island right next to Pier 57. It is a completely man made island, by a billionaire, of course. It has a number of amphitheatres on this island for shows, etc. there are nice paths and climbing rocks, not super dangerous, for the average Joe. Overall, a nice place to visit, take in the scenery, awesome skylines of both NYC and NJ, or just hang out with friends, or by yourself.

Nice park with original design over water. On left side there are couple "high" points with beautiful views to downtown, unfortunately these are packed with people trying to make photos. The rest of the park less crowded. In the center there are tables and chairs to have a rest, and couple kiosks with coffee, snacks, etc. Also there is a clean nice WC in the park, it's located left from the left entrance

Really nice spot to escape the busy city! There is a lot of green and it offers an amazing view on the downtown skyline. The architecture of this place is quite unique and I thinks it’s a must see spot in Manhattan. Also the entry is free and Chelsea market is quite close if you want to bring your own snacks or beverages- but it also offers a little kiosk
