An absolutely amazing experience! Their Omakase was beautifully and creatively presented and loved all of them. The chefs were very friendly and had the best hospitality. This place has only 8 seats so enjoyed my private, intimate experience! I hope to go back soon!

Had such a wonderful experience at Sushi Zo Hanare. When we arrived it was just two parties for the night (4 people). It felt so intimate and private almost like a private dinner with the chef. The courses were all so delicious, the fish was fresh, and carefully curated. You could see that a lot of creativity went into creating the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed each bite. By the end of night (almost 2.5 hours) I was stuffed. Incredible experience would highly recommend. And yes, it is expensive but I truly believe that the money was well spent for the experience and the top notch quality omakase. Spoil yourself and have dinner here.

Great sushi for a special occasion. The chefs are more laid back and funny than what you normally encounter at other places of a similar price point t. The uni tasting alone makes this worth a visit. Make sure you think carefully about your favorite one too...

Great food, unique, well curated and the staff are amazing. You may spend your rent in one night but it will be an excellent night! #zimmermanssuck

Dined at Sushi Zo Hanare on a thursday evening:) There are many omakase spots in NYC and we considered many other places before choosing Sushi Zo; but I am so glad we ended up deciding to come here! I loved that there were more appetizer courses before the nigiris started. Uni tasting was so good and every single bite was delicious. I could tell that the ingredients were high quality and selected carefully. I enjoyed generous use of uni and truffle, as well as excellent pieces of wagyu and tuna. Although the nigiri pieces are not very big, we definitely left full and satisfied after all the courses. We will definitely come back and would recommend this place to friends without hesitation. Thank you to all the chefs and staff for a wonderful experience!

What an amazing experience this was - I came across Sushi Zo while driving by in a taxi, and was intrigued by the tiny storefront and minimal advertising - so glad I googled it!! Chef Kevin was incredible - so passionate and excited about his craft. You could see him light up as he described each course and his (deeply involved and time consuming) preparation techniques. He is definitely a chef to watch - he seems to borrow from many influences and the result is an increibly unique and tasty sushi exeprerience. Once you add a few bottles of sake, it gets expensive quickly, but is definitely a meal you will remember!!

We love to go out. Yesterday we visited this excellent place which we didn’t know before. We passed a lovely evening there with first-rate food and a professional team and a talented cook. We added this fine restaurant in our list and we will surely come back soon. Highly recommended.

This sushi restaurant is not large, but it is decorated as exquisitely as any other sushi restaurant, and the details are in place. There are only two chefs with eight seats and at most eight guests every two hours. However, the sushi he makes is rich and rich in flavor, and it doesn't taste fishy. It feels very cool. In particular, the sushi rice tastes sweet and raw fish form a perfect fusion, add some sauce plum ah, dried radish diced and other accessories, increase the sense of layers, memorable! I wanted to take a picture of each course, but I missed 2 courses because I was too devoted to the delicious food. It's a pity! The next time will come again.

Great omakase experience! There were 8 of us seated at the bar, and 2 chefs prepared each course in front of us, serving each one as it was made. It was great to see all of the preparation that went into each bite, and everything we had was wonderful with high quality ingredients. A few standout dishes that I enjoyed were an uni tasting of 3 different types of uni, some delicious wagyu with caviar, and some awesome otoro.

My partner stayed up til midnight so that he could make a reservation here for Valentine’s Day. We were so excited when we got it. But then got a text message saying that there was a seating error on Resy and we would be rescheduled for 845 (the second seating). This wouldn’t have been so bad except that a week later (4 days before the reservation), they texted saying that they couldn’t honor our reservation. A text!! They offered only a complimentary beverage if we would choose to dine with them (but there was no offer to help us make the reservation more easily—so this would mean we’d have to stay up again at midnight to book another reservation???) Honestly I am incredibly disappointed and offended by the lack of effort from the restaurant when they have made it so difficult to book the reservation—I would have at least expected a phone call and an offer on the phone to reschedule us. This is truly awful quality of service from a very respectable restaurant.

Just lovely. Better and better every time. Takuma-sensei is truly a master. Great hospitality, incredible creations, the highest quality of ingredients with great attention to seasonality.

Insanely good and expensive omakase sushi experience. We celebrated an anniversary here and it didn't disappoint! The uni sampling was amazing - had to order more. One of the best sushi places in NY but save it for a special occassion as the price is unsurprisingly very high. You pay for quality!

Today, Sept 21st. My friends and I had an exceptional experience. Chef Kevin served our Omakase. The quality of the sushi is one of the best in the world. And his professional sushi is definitely world class! I've been to Japan few times, I didn't expect this quality in NYC. His service was extremely great! Highly recommend. Chef Kevin and his team made our night very very very special. I will definitely recommend to everyone to this place. Must go here if you are the sushi lover. Will never let you down. One of the best place in this NYC. Thank you again Kevin! Hope yo see you again soon!

An amazing omakase experience! One of the best in NYC for sure. Chef Kevin is so passionate and dedicated to his craft. Listening to him talk about the meal reveals how much he cares about his menu and how much thought goes into every dish. Fish is beyond fresh, flown in overnight from Japan direct from their own buyers. A must try!
