This Thai eatery is the embodiment of excellent causal dining. You don’t need to be creative or experimental with your foods but you just make it at your best. It’s not like bowtie and white table cloth service but they care about your need and genuinely appreciate your visit. What else can I possibly ask for? I cannot think of any.

Shocked this place has such a high rating - kind of suspicious just because every time I’ve walked by it’s been totally empty. I’m assuming there is some kind of scheme like a discount for reviews, because there is no way this place deserves this many 5 star reviews. Had a number of things but notably the pad thai and it was gross. Soft squishy overcooked noodles with caked on ‘sauce’ that really had no flavor besides sour. See my pic - pad thai had no sprouts, peanuts, garlic, eggs etc - nothing besides lots of terrible noodles and very dry chicken pieces. April 2022 edit to add: thai hot box has actually good Thai so check that out

I very rarely post reviews, and I feel bad doing so even now but my experience here was quite terrible. I think it’s a highly rated place with good food, but when I ordered two dishes to go, my friends pad see ew had a metal staple in it…through one of the noodles. There are many ways this could have been accidental, obviously, but it’s a serious thing - luckily my friend bit into it and realized that it was something she probably shouldn't eat and when we looked at it we couldn’t comprehend that it was a metal staple. When I called them to explain and ask for a refund there was 1) no apology or concern 2) they asked me to come back to the restaurant the next day to receive a cash refund because they “couldn’t do refunds on a card." So I was like I guess at least they’re giving a refund but wouldn’t they want to address the core issue since this is a huge health hazard? I went there the next day and brought the staple. The person 1) didn’t look at it or acknowledge it the physical evidence 2) literally told me that they were only giving me a refund for the noodle dish because “the other dish was fine” and 3) STILL DIDN’T ACKNOWLEDGE THERE WAS A STAPLE IN THE FOOD - no apologies. I see and know that this is again likely just a horrible mistake on their part, and in no way do I want their business to be impacted, but felt like it was important to share this and hope that they will be more vigilant in the future and provide better customer service after an incident like this.

Such a cool place to get Thai food. The decor inside is super cool and makes you feel like you have been transported back in time somewhere in Bangkok. You feel like you are sitting in someones home in Thailand. Very cool. The food was very delicious and we enjoyed everything we had ordered. The service was great and the outdoor dining is so fun right now in NYC. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a casual yet delicious thai meal. IG-traveleen_gurl

Decent decor. Decent service. Spring rolls were average and the temperature was just room temperature. Hoisin sauce was so so. Pineapple friend rice was bland. The temperature was fine. Chicken pad Thai was decent. Beverage was watered down. Could be better.

Great meal, fast service. The vibe of this restaurant is adorable with homey decor and cute silverware. They even have cute couches you can dine on. Food itself was tasty albeit a bit greasy. Surprisingly few diners for a Saturday night.

We tasted only two items. But they were delicious. Interior is bright, windows are huge. Service was quick. Nice place.

I’m glad I found this place! Food is really good and portions are generous. I got the pad thai with lump crab meat and omelette but with broad noodles instead. Most pad thai in the city tends to be too sweet for my taste but not this.

We have returned as customers of Maison Bangkok for over 3 years now. They always, consistently, without exception, provided fresh and high quality ingredients in dishes that left us satisfied and looking forward to the next order. I give them my warmest recommendation!

Casual homey restaurant. The staff was nice and the food was delicious. The menu has a wide variety of choices. I went for the Crispy Duck on a Pinot Noir wine sauce and a papaya salad. While not a traditional Thai recipe, I really enjoyed the duck. The only sell alcohol free beverages.

The food was delicious and very filling! We got the lunch specials and it was very satisfying. Noodles are so good, I will be definitely coming back here. Even though we came right at the opening hour, food was served fast and we were welcomed.

The place was empty, which I thought was a bad sign for nyc. But we took a chance anyway and I’m glad we did because the food was delicious! Service was great as well. Would definitely come back :)

It's a cozy restaurant with great food. The food items didn't have a brief description, on the menu. I had to order a multiple foods, to find which food I liked best.

While the food was tasty, there were several other factors that can be improved upon for this business to flourish. To start - Mack the server had the disposition of a cold fish! Unpleasant from the start, up until the end when he had the audacity to say I should have told him about the unclean glass that water was served in. (There was lipstick on the rim of the glass). Really?! Should I have said something before I received my meal? so that you can then screw me over with preparing my meal!? Then what positive feedback would have been left to share?! In all honesty, a nice clean-up would make a great difference for this spot! Windows and walls, the little couch in the small room (quite stained), floors and tidiness overall. And please - a server with a kind, pleasant demeanor would be a nice improvement!

Very casual dining, but comfortable. I get the pineapple fried rice dish, I'm not as adventurous sometimes. Their crab Rangoon appetizer was perfection, as was the salad that preceeded it. Service is pleasant. Lunch specials for about $12 to $14. Highly recommend this place!

Great lunch specials. The Thai iced tea is top notch. The pad see ew with tofu was so great, especially with the lime!

Very good, authentic Thai food. Friendly service, sidewalk - indoor seating. Friendly service. It doesn't look like much when we walked by but was a positive surprise & we'll be back. It's BYOB & so bring your own beer/wine from the (great) liquor store around the corner. Highly recommended
