Last night I bought my family and we had a great time the vibe, food and decor bought the perfect celebration 🍾 of food and a good time. I had the turkey wings, collard greens, stuffing. The turkey wings were cooked to perfection, collard greens were flavorful, the stuffing was amazing and the sweet tea wasn’t too sweet, it was a perfect balance. I recommend the strawberry butter and corn bread, that was amazing. Would definitely come here again and again and again. Everything was Delicious 👍👍👍👍 and the staff was AMAZING 🤩 blessing to this business and wishing your establishment longevity ❤️

The parking wasn’t too bad since there are a few nearby lots. The restaurant is stylishly decorated and clean. I was very hopeful that I had found a new soul food spot, but the food just didn’t hit. The best thing was the cornbread. Otherwise we didn’t finish our food nor were we inclined to take the leftovers home. I don’t like to waste food, but I just didn’t like it. I did finish the Mac & cheese, but I wouldn’t go back again for that.

While the food was prepared perfectly and the taste was delectable 😋. Unfortunately the layout of the space has tables kind of spaced close together. Not really suitable for large parties of 4 or more people. Our table was right in front of the door where you get a blast of cold air every time parties enter or exit. When we asked to be moved we were not only not accommodated but told we could order our food to go even though it was made clear we were not from in town and had an out of state guest with us. They advertise that it is a BYOB but did not put it with restrictions, we brought bourbon for the sweet tea and then we were told we could only have beer or wine. After putting it away back in the bag the bourbon came out of we were told that they needed to take the bag and hold it up front with the hostess until we left at which point it made us feel like we were children who couldn't be trusted to do the responsible thing. When you make a reservation they will charge your credit card for last minute cancellation, so we stayed even though we weren't having the greatest interaction with the front house staff. If that wasn't enough they automatically charge a 20 percent gratuity regardless of party size, additional 3% fee to use a credit or debit card. Compliments to the chef the cornbread with strawberry butter is amazing. Salmon cakes with cheddar grits cooked to perfection. Deviled eggs with smoked salmon are definitely an elevation on the well known appetizer. Though the food was amazing the service left a bad taste in my mouth.

Had a great dining experience at Sweet T's restaurant this past weekend! The Food was amazing, right temp, great flavor and the cornbread with strawberry butter was delish. Staff warm, professional and attentive! Service excellent. The owners are appreciative, very friendly and professional. I forgot, there is live Jazz music on Sunday's. Will definitely going back as there are great menu options.

Best cornbread I’ve had! The food didn’t disappoint. BBQ ribs are super tender, and the fried chicken is amazing. Their sides are also very good. 20% tips are included just keep that in mind, but the service was great so no complaints.

Sweet T’s has the best grits that I have ever experienced…! Yes it is a wonderful & wonder-filled experience not just a satisfying taste! The cornbread with strawberry butter is out of this world! The lamb cheesesteak was superb… adding the salad & edible flowers that accompany it with each bite just heightens the delight! The peach tea was refreshingly flavorful & not overly sweet. Just right! Great atmosphere, service, presentation and quality of food makes it totally worth the price!!

This was actually my 2nd time visiting. The first time was phenomenal, that's why I decided to come back with my best friend. I completely understand the 90-minute window. But we had to send food back 3 times. For example: I ordered the chicken & waffles. I asked for my wings to be fried hard, and they were not. I sent the order back to be corrected. When they returned, my waffle was now cold, so I had to send my plate back again. My best friend also ordered chicken, collards, and mac and cheese. Her wing had 3 noticeable feathers on it. Unfortunately, she had to send them back. We were also reminded of our 90-minute window. At this point, I was upset because I feel we should have been given extra time since we had this inconvenience. There was no compromise, and when we asked for a manager, we were told that there was no one was available l,but they advised us not to tip the waitress. It wasn't her fault that things turned out the way it did.

The food was disappointing, too basic for the price we paid. We were a party of two and they added gratuity to our total, which seemed a little aggressive. I didn’t expect my chicken and waffles to come with wings, instead of thighs. Took a little while to have our orders taken. But the food came out quick. The fried chicken has a weird odor, not sure if it was the batter , oil or if the meat had thawed too long. The place is cute though.

The owner was so accomodating and nice! He prepared a special table for our big group even though there was zero space for us. The food was nothing short of amazing! I wish we were seated inside though because i really wanted to tune in to the live band. But thats nothing to complain about, as the band sounded so good when I walked in. As a foodie that's always trying new foods, I would most definitely add this place to something I would go to regularly! The cornbread with the strawberry jam butter was to DIE for, and the fried chicken and pancakes were absolutely PERFECT. Well seasoned, and well cooked. If i had to say they needed to improve on something, it would be cook times. But that's something that can be worked on. Otherwise, I absolutely LOVE this place!

Overall, very good food. A little pricey but better than many of the surrounding restaurants. The fried chicken was solid, definitely above average but not incredible. The collard greens and potato salad were well excited, but not my cup of tea. Potato salad was a bit mustardy, not a bad thing, but not my favorite combination. Cheesy grits were awesome, very buttery and creamy, best I've ever had. If you like richness and cream, then you should definitely order the grits, so good!

Oh my goodness, this was some seriously delicious food! It was so good I could have cried. The fried okra was probably the best I've ever had. Worth going out of your way for if you love okra and don't want the batter to hide the sweet yummy ripe okra flavor. On the other hand, I think it would convert people who say they don't love okra. The collards were also done to perfection. As was the mac and cheese. My shrimp and grits was amazing. My husband's fried chicken was "amazing". The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the deviled eggs because they had a bit of onion taste and I'm not a fan of onions. The onion loving husband lucked out on that shared app. But overall, this very critical eater found out to be an exceptional meal. Definitely looking forward to our next visit. Also- the orchids are a lovely touch and a nice palate cleanser.

Make your reservations as early as possible because... you gotta eat here and I overheard someone who walked in the door be told there was a 5 hour wait! I can see why! From the trio playing the smooth jazz to the amazing shrimp and grits, crab mac n cheese, and lamb cheesesteak, I was blown away. Not to mention we had the best server with the sweetest smile, Ebony. She took care of us and shared a couple of great laughs with us at the table. I love personable service with a smile! Thanks for a dope Palm Sunday brunch, Sweet T's!!

I ordered takeout online and it was a smooth experience. Food was ready on time and placed in a food warmer until pickup. Staff was friendly and efficient. Food was flavorful and portion size was plentiful. Handicap accessible entrance and dining area.

honestly pretty great food and friendly and attentive staff. however, the dining area feels kinda congested and the food was a little pricey for the portions in my opinion, but not unreasonable once you've had a taste.. also really don't appreciate the fact that a 20% gratuity is automatically included in the bill. still recommend people give it a try at least once if you can afford it. also be aware trying to find parking is a bit of a hassle

The biscuits and gravy is a must order: the gravy is rich and flavourful without being dense. The biscuits are light, buttery, and absorb the gravy so well. It was a great appetiser without making us feel over-full for our main dishes. The pancakes were huge and generous.

This is my new favorite spot for some authentic Soul Food. The food, service, and atmosphere were all so welcoming and made the experience of eating there pleasurable. As an African American, this restaurant makes me feel right at home.

Yesterday, I went for lunch. Visually, this is a beautiful establishment from the window, to the decor' the chandeliers and African American artwork, to the music. 💯 So happy to have an African American owned business in the area that we can support! 💯 The staff was very friendly. Our server Jayla was more than delightful, she offered meal suggestions etc. We were there for the Catfish and grits but I changed up trying the Shrimp and grits. Both were presented well and very good. I love fried catfish and theirs definitely satisfied. The grits were cheesy 🧀 and seasoned well. We finished with a banana pudding 🍌 which was the perfect size with its homemade whipped cream lightly sprinkled with cinnamon 😋. Everything was DELICIOUS and on POINT! 👏 💐 🥳 🎊

I visited Sweet Ts for a second time, this time with family. This time, I decided to order the spare ribs, potato salad, and collard greens, and it was great! My ribs are delicious and tender, collard greens were flavorful, and my potato salad was just right! However, my 9yo daughter (who LOVES fried chicken) was not impressed by her chicken and waffles. The waffles were bland and just not tasty. 3 orders of it and my dad, and niece wasn't impressed by it either, and they only ate the chicken wings that came with the order. It's good to know that no matter your party size, 20% gratuity is added to the check. That said, I would return, but not for the waffles and probably not the pancakes either.

Extremely nice ambiance, friendly staff and great location. As far as the food… their dedication to not using pork ruined the whole experience for me… all of the food was less authentic and poorly seasoned as such. Not to mention their sweet tea is served in little jars full of ice with no free refills. Sorry… I refuse to call this soul food. Not impressed with bland deviled eggs and shrimp and grits void of bacon served with shells on.

Cornbread, the likes I haven’t had in a really long time and likely not since I was in TN last. Moist with a thin crunchy crust and - get this - STRAWBERRY BUTTER 🤤 so good…. Enough to be a meal itself or just a perfect snack if you wanted to come and chat with friends. The grilled cheese with short rib was the entree. Comes with potato wedges. A little salty, but it comes with the territory. The short rib was moist and sweet. Bread thick and with a nice crust and soft center. The wedges need a dipping sauce. Served with ketchup, but I should have asked for ranch or something different (that’s my own fault). My friend had the low country pulled chicken sandwich, he said it was good also.

Delicious food, friendly service and a nice ambiance. Loved the cornbread with strawberry butter and also had shrimp and grits which was very tasty. Friend tried the short ribs and mac and cheese and they raved about them. Sweet T's is a great addition to Montclair's dining scene

I stumbled upon the restaurant while taking a stroll with my spouse. The place was pretty packed but thankfully the owner was able to squeeze us in without a reservation. The atmosphere was very inviting and felt like home. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The food is prepared to order so it was about 30 minutes wait for the main entrée. Rob, lovely live musician is great and I really enjoyed his soulful selections. The food and presentation gets thumbs up from me. Overall I would recommend them to my family and friends. I highly suggest you make reservation though 🙂

First time here and first impression was just WOW! It smelled absolutely wonderful when we walked in, and we were greeted and seated right away. The food was very tasty and I really like the macaroni and cheese. I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
