It's nice to look through and there is a lovely cat (that is surprisingly thin, honestly). There is a pretty good selection and it's leagues better than the pet store on Northern Blvd and Main St (well, since the last time I've been) but the one by SkyView Mall (Monster Aquarium) is just nicer. A few warning signs. I have only rarely ever had ick before ... Maybe once or twice but it's been so long and it was so rare it's truly hard to remember. I'm pretty sure my fish were received with Ick and it took over and I lost the fish I bought (no over stocking issues or water issues even though a newly cycled tank). I should have noticed there was an issue as when the owner netted the fish, one literally exploded from the stomach. The owner made a joke "not that one.. heh" and I was so traumatized even though I had reservations I continued the purchases. When I went back the owener new what the problem was and sold me Ick medicine which was inefficient and over priced (by 200%) I will visit and look around and may by small items if I really need it (it's local) but fish and live items will be purchased at Monster Aquarium, one of the other good aquarium shops on Northern Blvd or if I purchase fish from Aquarium I will quarantine new fish and medicate animals on the assumption they are ill. Kissena Aquarium is less expensive (no taxes if paying by cash) and if you quarantine and treat your fish you should be okay, just be warned.

Mainly come here for the freshwater fish selection as it is pretty exceptional! Customer service is always great and the workers have always been helpful. Biggest plus is the cute and adorable cat that you might see sleeping or lounging around the store!! Absolutely love the cat, makes my time in the store 100x better. Have been getting fish and plants from here for over a year now!

I hired Sam to move my aquarium when I relocated. He showed up on time, removed them to small buckets with air pumps, temperature controlled and slowly drove them to my new place. They did not appear stressed when he finished setting up the aquarium and happily ate. He's a great fish guy and now I won't go anywhere else for my tank needs. And he has a beautiful black cat!

First time here clean, friendly staff, good selection of fresh water fish took home some white balloon Molly's, Mickey mouse platys and some blue male guppies will return.

This store is a good and fun store besides from the heat but I’ve been there over 20 plus times and the workers are very nice. The prices on the fish are kinda responsable meaning it’s just a lil above the regular priceing range but it’s worth if if you can’t travel far and some of the fish are high quality. But beware if you buy guppies at least 85% of them have back and fin problems and die in a week or two. But that’s pretty much it just make shure to do your research so that your fish are being well taken care of and that they don’t die , or that they don’t harm your tank or any other fish living in it.

The fish die when you buy them. They are sick fish. I want everyone to know. Don't waste your money. Don't buy their fish.

This is my new go-to aquarium store. They had a great selection of guppies that were conveniently sorted by male and female. I also liked their selection of mollies.

Went here today to get ghost shrimps (which they didn’t have) so we got red cherry shrimps instead. The place has different kinds of fishes in there, we even saw an eel!:) Service was quick also.

My first time there today looking to buy a blue betta fish...and it was a very nice experience. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. He even helped me get a cab ride home! They have a very good selection of aqua life and accessories that fit all budgets. I plan to return again in the (near) future to buy more.

So it's a 3 star because there's a good variety of fish and the owners are friendly. However, I bought fish from this place three times and all three times, they were infected with ich.

Guy sold me fish that he recommended for my tank. Because there is NO phone service in this dungeon, I found out later when I got home these fish would outgrow my tank and eat my fish. I returned them with no problem. I then bought 2 new fish with my store credit and apparently they have ICH and now contaminated my beautiful established tank. Trying to save over 15+ lives at the moment.

Great little fish store. They really take good care of their animals. No dead fish or cloudy water and feces in their tanks like at the big name brand stores. They're really helpful and they gave me great advice about the type of fish I was getting. Knowledgeable people with good service.

Finally found a store with friendly staff that takes the time to make sure all needs are met for my large Aquarium. I now have a healthy flourishing tank. Was loyal to the Jackson Heights Petco for a long time, however, they failed miserably and anyone experiencing the same problem I would recommend Kisssena Aquarium!

Do not waste your money here, just bought fish from here and they were contaminated with Ich. I had them seperated in the same tank as my old blood parrots. Once beautiful blood parrots are now covered in parasites. I’m hoping they get better as I am trying to save their lives. The clown loach and cichlid I bought are dead now. Go somewhere where their livestock is guaranteed

One of the best aquarium stores in my opinion. I've been coming here for more than a decade when I used to buy corals for my tank, now I come here to buy rare freshwater cichlids for my cousin. Sam and Jackie are the best, super friendly and knowledgeable, they are like family. I recommend this place!

If I could describe this store in 2 words, it would be hot trash. Do not waste your gas to drive here, or your energy to walk here. The tanks are understocked, the fish are overpriced and the quality of fish is lacking. Bottom line is, Kissena is not making any money. Without sales they cant purchase new and better stock, and then they have to overcharge for the little inventory they have. The only reason they have any business is because ppl dont know there are better pet stores in the city that sell the exact same fish, with better quality and prices. This store should really just close shop. Everytime i walk in here, it's just more of a dissapointment. It might have had a hey day many years ago, but right now it just looks sad.

This is one of the few places around flushing that I always come back to. Anywhere you go there’s no guarantee for livestocks to “make it” but they’ve done the best they can. The owner is super nice and he was able to give me a discount for the fish I had trade in. Highly recommend good variety of fish especially the bigger ones

The owner is nice and helpful. He’s got good stuff. I like the store and have always been treated nice. I had an issue with done fish I bought and the owner was very gracious and settled amicably the matter in the most generous and professional mane. There’s both freshwater and marine fish here and there’s some good stuff here.

Although I went for fresh water fish, its everything else that enchanted me. Great tank decor and supplies selection. Many harder to find salt water fish and good coral selection. Didnt buy, but noted great prices. Took off a star for a few "ahem" unhappy fish, and location: it's on a main street, yes, but recessed, basement entrance is hard to find. Lastly, employees were friendly and helpful and place was clean.

I went to this place for the first time yesterday and it was a very pleasant experience. Very inviting staff, nice cozy aquarium shop with lots a varieties of fish to choose from. I would definitely recommend fish lovers to visit this place and I will be returning for all my aquarium needs.

Fish are healthy, shop owner is honest and good with business. I picked out 5 reticulated loaches, he made sure I looked at the fish before he bagged them. I picked out one that had a nipped fin, and he replaced it for me on the spot.

I would have given them 5 stars but the only problem was the owners working there are smokers and though you don't see them smoking, you smell the cigarettes and smoke 50% of the time when you're there. One time I was there it smelled really bad I couldn't breath. I left the place right away. I even think to myself if I was going back there the next time.

I love that place. It's so beautiful and many selections. I want to go back again.

Fish store well stocked with both freshwater and saltwater fish and aquarium items. The space is not huge but the tanks are clean and they actually carry some larger fish varieties like koi, arowana, etc. The owner seems nice and knowledgable and gives you the sense that he has been working with fish for awhile. The fish are priced competitively and I did see some rarer fish here than you would find at a normal aquarium store. Only downsides are that the parking is just whatever you see on the street which can get crowded (not their fault) and they don’t take amex. Definitely worth checking out!

love the aquarium! they sell few turtle foods, tanks, and others. they also had a lovely black cat there. theres a bunch of small and big fishes, as well as some small shrimps. while looking around, I found some real alive corals reefs with fishes and few starfish. 3 stars from me because I've seen a better one but this one is also pretty nice.
