I went to the emergency room because I was having a miscarriage. I was bleeding and in excruciating pain. They put me in a room and no one tended to me. When I expressed to the nurse that I was in alot of pain, she said that I will have to wait for someone in the next shift to help me. I asked when would this be? She yelled at me and said this is an emergency room and that she doesn't know. I was very disgusted.

I am very concerned about the upkeep of this hospital being that this is the closest hospital to my family and my self. Over the last 4 years the service has been unacceptable. Please note the doctors are phenomenal but the ER is horrible .I have complained several times only to be pacified. The staff is unprofessional and loud often violating the Hippa law. They have no concern about the patient feeling. I have sat and observed staff going from patient to patient loudly stating their diagnosis loudly. What of patient care. This needs to be addressed admittedly. ER and the housekeeping staff is bringing the hospital down. Please stay true to your word when you respond writing thanks for the info and still do NOTHING. housekeeping is terrible.

I realize that hospitals are short staffed and tired however having a loved one at this place requires you to be there at all times. From the Rudeness to no one knowing what the other is doing is terrifying to watch. They need to figure out a better way to NOT forget that each person there is a life that they are responsible for! No empathy, no courtesy, no manners, Horrible the lack of respect or interest to actually have honor in the positions they have chosen as a career. Wrong meds given. No communication lies about the meds given. Cleaning is non existent.! Food brought to patient is left on the patient’s table regardless if the patient can get up to get it!! It was truly unbelievable what I saw every day !

This was the most disgusting experience ever first the surgeon had no idea what to operate on. they are over booked for hours. You make an appointment for 12 then they keep moving it to 7 pm. This is a place for surgery and they can’t take care and communicate with patient’s. If your insurance covers some where else please don’t come here.

My experience at Mt. Sanai was one where I understood the emergency room was overcrowded but nurses did their best especially when understaffed. The security personel was friendly . As for the MRI man who took the test for mom he was rude not understanding how one feels when your mom is really sick and he is worried how a pen is handed back to him yelling . I do say I had the most wonderful Dr's who were caring ,on top of communicating with me. Dr. Jonas words cannot describe how lucky I was to have you taking care of my mom till the last day. When you took your Oath to be a Dr you kept that promise. I know I was a pain texting you but you always always responded my messages. Thank you for being a fabulous Dr.🙏🙏with one caring heart 💙. Dr Harry Berkowitz you also were there when mom needed you. Thank you for having a caring heart 💙 also. Doctors like both of you are hard to find today. As for some nurses on the 3rd floor thank you for looking out for mom. A few of the aides I too say thank you for doing your job with love towards my mom . It's nice to see a person doing their job with love not for just a paycheck. Last but not least thank you to the young gentleman who brought my mom upstairs to her room with a beautiful smile . His disposition was wonderful 👏🙏

I went to the emergency room because my right side hurt. I thought it was an appendix or something serious. Got there at 7pm and left at 2am. They did a CT scan and diagnosed me with an ovarian cyst and fluid in Fallopian tube. I was at the Gynocologist three months prior to this so this was strange to me. However I still I went to my Gynocologist and she said that the hospital misdiagnosed me and there’s nothing there.

While my mother did receive good care, they lost her wedding band. The patient representative lied to me and no one had the decency to pick up the phone or return a call. Three weeks after my mother passed away I got a letter from the hospital telling me they invested and found nothing and they are not liable. After I was told by a nurse to not only file a police report but asked how much the ring was worth for compensation. What a joke

This has to be the worst emergency room in Brooklyn. My mom went there with a fever and she was sweating so much that it would drench her clothes. My mother (a black woman) told the (Caucasian) doctor she had a fever and he ignored her. She sat there feeling like she was about to faint until the (black doctor came in and took her temperature which was (108). My mom also explained to the (Caucasian ) doctor and nurse that she recently had a Stomach lipo and wanted to make sure her symptoms weren’t a cause for major concern. They automatically laughed and stereotyped her. The (Caucasian) doctor told her to go back to where she got the procedure done because they couldn’t help her. How can a doctor in an emergency room not help her? She could have a life threatening infection and this doctor could be sending her home to die. My mom has had multiple surgeries on her stomach due to illness as well as battle stage four colon cancer. Some people don’t get lipo just for cosmetic reasons sometimes women have a hard time losing stomach weight after multiple c- sections. It is easy to see how people die in hospital waiting rooms and and ERs. When your health and well-being are put into the hands of racist doctors and medical staff working in predominantly African American neighborhoods. This is a major cause for concern. I wish I could give no stars. They don’t even deserve the one.

This review is for nikki from patients registration. I have never meet someone so nice and caring like her. She helped my mom to get a good oncologist and that oncologist helped my mom to get a good surgeon to remove the cancer. But everything happened because of her and she always reached out to check how is it going with my mom

My friend experience here is good. The weekend staff helpful but little too local happens. You are basically on your own especially if it's a weekend. If you take a love one there prepare to spend the night with your family . It’s all not easy. Hospital is clean. WiFi available. Parking is not problem.

This is not my first choice in hospitals but unfortunately it is where my mom was taken. The ER RN's were snippy, and seemed irritated. My mom had a brief hospital stay twice here. First time was worse then the second time. The RN's in the unit are all young, all they did was sit and look at their computer screen. These are not the RN's I remember from back in the day when they did more than just sit on the butts all day and maybe push a med or two. CO VID i am sure gave them a raise and BIG ONE an now they have less and less to do or want to do. Do not try and call the Nursing Station since the phone will just ring and ring. I asked to speak to my mom's DR each and everyday which was a total of three days with no response.

Only good if you know exactly why you’re there. You might as well triage & treat yourself. This lady in ER triage has THEE worst attitude & sits on her phone majority of the time. I guess to say she “tries” though as the hospital is filthy & overpacked majority of the time. Not sure if new staff is needed or the building needs renovation but this is atrocious. It used to be way better years ago.

Horrible service they do not care about your well being just about your insurance! I went to the er due to the fact that I was having some nausea that I later found out was gas reflux. These people ended up keeping me for over 7 hours after I repeatedly told them I wanted to leave. I asked the nurse practitioner on duty to remove my iv after I had it on for 6 hours and she declined. After feeling not only sick but frustrated I decided to take the iv line off since it was beyond finished and leave. Now I came to the er at around 7:30pm and left at about 3:30am. Now why did I need to stay all that time?? To top of my experience I got a call at 5:26 from the nurse that was caring for me stating she was going to call the cops and report that she never saw me take my iv although I was denied when she heard me ask the nurse practitioner. I am appalled at how these people treat their patients. Don’t go here specially if you have good insurance they will try to milk you like they did me!

Mount Sinai in Bkkyn My mom is currently staying at this hospital and the care is non existent. It is as if the nurses don’t care. There are three nurses name Luba ,Hannita, and James and they are amazing . They make you feel heard and are so caring to their patients . Sadly they are the exception to the rules. For example, One nurse, Gracie , walked pass the warning on the front of the door that my mom is a “fall risk” and told my mom to get up now and go to the bathroom while she change the bed . She was reminded that my mom is a stroke victim and is not mobile. She nonchalantly said “oh lemme read her chart .” She had below zero bed side manner. Sadly this is more common than seeing caring nurses and helpers . It’s so sad, we all have mothers , we have sisters , daughters or grand mothers , how can people who chose to be caregivers be so cold-hearted? It’s the most upsetting feeling to walk away feeling afraid for your mom that she will be mistreated . It makes an emotional draining event worse . Mount Sinai you must hold staff development classes and or refresher courses than are mandatory for the nurses and helpers on the floor. They have lost their way and are reeking havoc on patient care quality . We gotta do better . These are our loved ones at their weakest moments in life .it’s not the time to step on them but hold them up. I pray to God that he blesses this hospital with insight and a renewed desire to bring back the “care” in patient care. Respectfully, Somebody’s daughter

I got prescribed wrong meds before here which is weird. The most horrible thing I saw was a girl who was throwing up for 3-4 hours straight in a bucket at some point it became bloody and she was calling nurse or doctor screaming all the time and they just ignored her for hours. When nurse came she looked annoyed and talked back rude like “when doctor will be free he will see you”. I don’t believe there is nothing they can do for a person in that situation. I’m not the most empathetic person but even I was ready to get up and help her.

I gave 2 stars ONLY because of caring and professional nursing care my 94 y.o. received in 2022 comparing with nursing care in 2019 when she was at Mt. Sinai hospital. My mom was admitted on Saturday to ER and after CT diagnosed with pneumonia. Dr. Yan, pulmonologist, became her doctor. First time I saw him next day for less then a min. For 2 days nobody from dr. Yan’s team and or hospital staff spoke or called about my mom’ condition(I stayed with my mom from 10 am-8 pm every day) On Tuesday I contacted patient rep, and called dr. Yan office. On Wednesday I FINALLY received a call! from dr. Yan. My mom was slightly better, PT came on Thursday, and I was told we will go home on Friday. On Friday morning Dr. Yan came, my mom didn’t feel good, but he told that at home she will be better. We went home. It was a worst sleepless night in my life. I could hear gurgling sound in her chest! I had to call 911 again So, we are In the same ER week later. After blood work and chest x-ray I was told that my sweet mom will not survive. Honestly, I expected dr. Yan at least to call me. I was wrong! Dr. Yan just got rid of the sickly patient, my mom, like she is a lesser person because of age. He avoided talking to me for the same reason Dr. Hauter was understanding and reachable while providing comfort care for my mom. Loosing parent is difficult at any age. Dr. Yan made it extremely painful for me. To be honest, I am hurt and disgusted by dr. Yan’s behavior.

There's thousands of emergency room hospitals in Bklyn! Why would anyone come here? They are not very clean and the drs. are mediocre at best! Please people this is not the only 911 hospital in bklyn!!! Finding another 911 hospital is not difficult/hard & a much better choice. Thank you & have a nice day.

Wow !! Wow!!. Mount Sinai Hospital of Brooklyn indeed, is the secret Gem of Brooklyn. A Hospital is not really the place to be especially a year after a horrific Pandemic experience the Hospitals went through. Even with concerns, I never hesitated to go to Mount Sinai. Why..? from the first point of contact to checking into the ER to the discharge, the staff has always been consistent with the way they attend to us patients. This time for me was different because I have to do an emergency surgery. From the time in the ER, admitting and surgery the experience was exceptional. The cleaning staff was right around the clock. My room was excellent I applaud the cleaners continue doing the Job your doing and had the esteem pleasure of sharing a room with a wonderful, gorgeous Centurion(100 yrs)Ms King. I received knowledge and wisdom despite the circumstances this made my stay and pain level not as difficult to deal with. My Surgeon, Little Miss Petite, I will call her I forgot her name 😩but she so cheerful and she reassured me that everything will be fine. Now for the Nurses Miss Melinda and Miss Minette, you have a wonderful team.Michelle, Marcia, Agatha, Kamala, Ann, and all of who made my stay here one for the History Books. Mount Sinai Cooperate. Mount Sinai of Brooklyn deserve to be celebrated and 10 Stars is not enough but the staff there made my stay here a memorable one... I celebrated each and everyone of you and I can’t thank you enough and may God continue to bless you and continue providing the excellent service that I have received.

My experience at this hospital was by far the worst. I see nothing has changed, never have I experienced such poor care in a hospital until I unfortunately ended up being taken here. In February of 2022 I was non-verbal and bed bound these nurses didn't care to try and assist me to make my stay a comfortable and pleasant one. They were rude, no bedside manner and did not care. They gave my daughter a hard time when she tried to visit. I was there several days before they would let her come visit. I was elated when they transferred me back to the Rehabilitation Center just as long as I was out of that place. Horrible!

I was there a few days ago with my son. We arrived by ambulance, we spent 9 hours in the emergency room, in a hallway, although the treatment was good, it took a long time to perform the CT scans. And the man who performs them must be a little more kind and friendly with the patients. Then in the room, in the operation and in recovery, the nurses, the doctor and the staff were very kind.

It was the worst experience I’ve had with mount Sinai to my utter surprise, I was in the emergency room for than 12 hours before I got a room, but that wasn’t too bad, I understand there weren’t a bed available yet and I just had to wait, the nurse Valerie was phenomenal along with the rest of the er staff, the real problem was when I finally got into room 233, I was so exhausted, I asked for a shower after a 12 hour wait, and was denied by the male nurse assigned to me, he said I couldn’t take one without a doctor’s consent, which he never put a consent through, I fell asleep woke up to discover I have been laying on dried up bloody sheets, in pain all night just to discover if I don’t tell them I’m in pain they will not attend to me with medication, which was not explained to me by the nurse assigned to me, I came in Sunday got the room Monday, and haven’t seen a doctor today Tuesday 8:30 am yet, I’m really disappointed with the care from mount Sinai inpatient department

If I could give negative stars I would. I SAY TAKE YOUR FAMILY AND RUN!! During the first week of March my mom went to Mount Sinai Kings Highway Brooklyn Hospital ER since her doctors were all Mount Sinai. You would think the care would be great. Well let me tell you, IT WAS NOT!! I AM A NURSE AND I WAS EMBARASSED BY THE HEALTHCARE PROFESSION WHILE MY MOM WAS IN MOUNT SINAI KINGS HIGHWAY. I THINK BETTER CARE WOULD HAVE BEEN RENDERED TO HER IF SHE WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SHE WAS IN THE ER FOR 2 DAYS. NO ONE SAW HER FOR HOURS WHEN EMS BROUGHT HER IN, NOT EVEN AN ID BAND WAS PLACED ON HER TIL HOURS LATER. SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON A CARDIAC MONITOR, BUT GUESS WHAT, THEY HAD NONE. EVEN WHEN A BED BECAME AVAILABLE FOR HER SHE COULD NOT GO THE BED ON THE UNIT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO CARDIAC MONITOR. SHE WAS NOT EVEN PLACED ON A CARDIAC MONITOR IN THE ER TIL THE NEXT DAY. SHE IS ALSO A DIABETIC, NO FOOD, NO BLOOD GLUCOSE CHECKS, AT LEAST NOT THAT SHE AND I SAW. I would recommend that you stay far away from this hospital. They need an overall revamping of their care. I had to remove my mom and take her where the care was what it should have been. If I could list all the words that describe this hospital, I would but that would take all day. MOUNT SINAI KINGS HIGHWAY BROOKLYN IS Contemptible, cruddy, deplorable, dirty, grubby, lousy, nasty, paltry, pitiable, pitiful, ratty, scabby, scummy, sorry, wretched, abhorrent, abominable, condemnable, detestable, execrable, hateful, loathsome, odious, disgusting, repugnant, repulsive, revolting, revulsive, discreditable, disgraceful, dishonorable, disreputable, ignominious, shameful base, ignoble, low, shabby, sordid, squalid, vile, blamable, censurable, reprehensible, reproachable, cowardly, craven, dastardly, unethical, unprincipled, unscrupulous.

This is one of the worst emergency hospitals to come too, I was a transfer patient from Brookdale there is no urgency due to my injury I spoke with a supervisor the nurses are frustrated and taking out there stress on patients…….. imagine coming to get treated and the nurses are screaming at you literally in front of other patients. If you can’t handle working in the The ER don’t come to work. Nobody deserves to be in pain or w.e the situation and still deal with stupidity when u get here. Management and nurse in charge need to find a solution for this problem and retrain your employees on basic customer service.

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to, the staff is ok, but the place is dirty ( 5 days here, no one ever cleaned the bathroom or mopped the floor) food didn't tastes bad, but was always cold, but half the stuff I ask for doesn't come at all, even though is on my ticket, and it's toss up with what you get, don't even bother to order your meals , I could go on and on

This place is despicable my grandmother has COVID and stage 4 cancer and they neglected to feed her for 24 hours after running a test her doctors did not authorize. She was held in a room with no air conditioner and moved. Once our family left they had the audacity to move her back. Without her cellphone she would’ve been left there neglected. This hospital is a complete embarrassment to the NYC health system and should be penalized for their mistreatment. On top of that the nurses section was unplugged and when she hit the button asking for help no one came.

Worst hospital in America, I rather stay home and die it’s the same thing. I came here from the ambulance with an asthma attack and they left me sitting in a corner untreated for over 30 minutes while I’m wheezing and coughing. I found a little bit of Strength to get up and ask them for a treatment to clear my lungs they refused. I told them I’m leaving they said “ okay .” I will never come back here again. PLEASE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN I AM BEGGING. Do not bring anyone you love here.

From the time I entered the ER to the time I was transfered to the Upper East Side facility, I was treated with courtesy, professionalism, empathy and expertise. The security guard was cordial when I entered.. Doing my intake was smooth and effortless and within 10 minutes I entered triage, and got my vitals taken and was escorted into the ER. The attending nurse introduced himself and apologized in advance for being understaffed. I had a book and was prepared for a wait. More concerning to me, were some of the patients who came into the ER with adult children, who were playing their phones loud, and eating take out food on beds..and making loud conversations...and grabbing clean sheets from other beds.. really disrespectful. The staff handled them with tact, but I kinda wish a guard could have explained to them what decorum is about.. not that it would have really helped. Eventually I was seen, and diagnosed...and the tests were explained to me, and the medications I was given were explained to me, clearly. Next steps were explained as well, and I had some decisions I needed to make... eventually I was transfered to the uptown facility, and even the ride there was smooth and enjoyed some great conversation with the drivers... I was treated by a specialist almost immediately....and discharged after discussing next steps with the attending doctors. Overwhelmed. Yes. Understaffed. Sure. But I feel I got quality care. And feel better today as a result.

Horrible. Very unprofessional staff . Thank god I had one good member his name is Ahkeem . He spoke to me and was soooo sweet . There’s a very few friendly staff. Majority of these people do not like their jobs and that’s okay but when you’re dealing with people’s lives at stake you have to be able to learn how to be professional no matter WHAT. Thank God for that emergency dispatcher, literally an angel sent by God. I would not recommend this place to everyone . I’m here because I need help . Not because I love the atmosphere. Need to do way better than that .

Came in at 10pm with cough and runny nose etc and I had a fever earlier in the day of 102. Got to the hospital and waited 3 hours for blood work and a covid test and because I want to leave because it’s been now 4 hours I’m going against there medical codes. Pretty sure I’m allowed to leave if I please, go to langone or Maimonides they get the job done faster

You have no idea how unprofessional this hospital is. The lack of professionalism is absolutely concerning. After calling for 15hrs, to request meds that was given after surgery, not a single person has called back. Lastly, after coming to the hospital because I couldn’t get a call back, I was bounced around 5 times because know seems to know what there are doing. The worst customer/patient service I’ve ever experienced. I will definitely take my family to Manhatton where I’ve received the proper respect and friendly service. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Horrendous! This is one of the worst ER's ever. So many patients and it takes the doctors forever to see them. They order CAT SCANS & it takes hours & hours for them to get done. Some of the nurses are so rude( a pregnant one, this time)when they should be thankful, you're making them aware of an issue. The doctors are snotty as well. Everyone with few ( one handed exceptions) need better people skills / interactions. Jose is very sweet & caring.

Worst hospital! Waited over over 4 hours with pain, redness, and swelling of leg. Saw a doctor for 5 minutes. Begged to see a doctor and was told twice "he can't see you now". Asked for a copy of my medical charts to at least see myself, they gave me discharge papers without telling me. Left with no help, no relief, and no idea whatis/was wrong with my leg. Got a phone call from the hospital the next day. When I called back they didn't know why they called me. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!

This is a private hospital that is the hospital I would choose to go to if given a choice. Just because it's a private facility doesn't mean they won't help and serve you, they will. Located off a major avenue in Brooklyn it is easily located. The staff from triage nurses to doctors are in my opinion the best of the best when it comes to medical care. The wait is always minimal compared to Kings County and Brookdale hospitals again due to its classification. ID is a must here along with medical insurance if you have otherwise they will be you. Hands down this is the hospital and especially the ER I would go to.

Hit by a car on the morning of 11/9/22 and was taken to Mount Sinai Brooklyn on Kings Highway. All the staff in the ED from X-Ray to CT Technicians were skillful, reassuring and caring. Shout out to Natalia, Gilbert and Kevin, who provided excellent patient care. Thanks to the PA, Bianca, who did my stitches and was adept, professional and patient with me the entire time.

I cannot say enough nice things about our experience. My mother was recently admitted with what is still an unknown virus. She has since been transferred to the city but every single person who came in contact with her in the past 72 hours have been phenomenal. Tulitha and Dr Pigeon in the ER; Peter, Ricky, and my angel Lucy in the PCU; and the incredible team of doctors were beyond words. I am so grateful for these amazing people and can never thank them enough. If I could give them a hundred stars I would.

Don’t do it!!!!!!! One of the worst hospitals in Brooklyn. My daughter had chest pains and was taken in through triage to their “fast track” care, and there was NOT one thing fast about the service. A nurse hadn’t even come to say hello within 2 hours of waiting, not to mention not one doctor stopped by. Dont waste your time going here. They’re just as horrible as Brookdale Hospital and if you know anything of Brookdale, you know patients go there to be unalived.

The emergency room is horrible the fact that the first thing you see is a huge metal detector by the front door I found to be ridiculous and very intrustiv. I even had to open my bag just to show my belongings which makes no sense. On top of that there is no sign in sheet you have to wait on a lady to call you to the window which makes no sense if multiple people walk in. How would you know who came first? Literally hot mess. I did not like the treatment and made my experience at the emergency room very uncomfortable. I can see why the review rating is 2,5 ridiculous. I was not satisfied at all.

The reviews are definitely accurate I went there myself and I am ashamed. For a Private owned hospital Mount Sinai sure has lots of work to do. The hospital is definitely understaffed and needs more workers. It needs to be renovated and updated. The Emergency room was by far the worst one I saw out of all the emergency rooms I’ve been too, they had beds in the halls ways patients waiting hours up 3 just to be seen by a nurse nurses not using gloves. My overall experience was not great I left after 3 hours without seeing anyone because I couldn’t take the wait anymore they had me sitting in the waiting area for 3 hours to be seen.

Good doctors. Wife had her Apple Watch go missing in the ER. Hospital said they’d look into it and get back, never did.

I see a lot of bad rating which are understandable but no hospital is perfect. I have to say that the people in the ICU department are some of the most amazing nurses/staff I have ever encountered. They are extremely caring and pay attention to detail. Although the ER was not the most pleasurable experience, I don’t think any ER can be perfect. Some hospitals are absolutely terrible compared to this one. I’m thankful for the nurses in the ICU for being genuine humans…
