Let me start by saying DO NOT use this hospital for your medical needs!!! 15 hours in the ER without any relief for my husbands pain. My husband was involved in a near fatal accident and suffers severely. We notified his surgeon that he was coming and the hospital refused to get in touch with him. After asking how much longer the check in nurse replied under her breath “been here an hour and wants service”. After being told “don’t worry we’re going to make you comfortable”, my husband suffered so badly he was begging for someone to look at him. They were treating patients in the hall leaving elderly unattended for hours in a wheelchair and a blanket. Another nurse handled blood without gloves and cleaned up garbage also without gloves. After being admitted for the night I told my husband to pack his belongings that I’m coming to get him. Nurses unaware of orders, no personal care, no bedside manner. When I arrived to pick him up I was asked for my vaccine or a negative Covid test!!!! Ummmm I was in your ER for 15 hours!!!! People with non emergencies were being helped first! A man that was bleeding profusely was pushed aside and left for hours while others who had insurance were seen first!!!! When I say STAY AWAY please take my advise I wish I took the advise of the reviews before that horrible experience. 0 stars!!!

When you take your child to an emergency room, you expect kind treatment. Instead, I got a nurse from hell. He was horrible and threatened to call CPS if I wouldn't agree to his treatment that would damage my 2yr old child's esophagus for life. Treatment that was meadically unnecessary. He's a POS. Good thing other staff agreed with me and not him. I will try to avoid the hospital as much as possible due to staff like him.

I had an unfortunate but necessary visit to Winthrop University Hospital ER Monday afternoon... The staff were very thorough and professional, helpful and kind and very patient with me and all the people who were there. I eventually was admitted and although it wasn't what l was hoping for obviously the staff made it a bearable experience. The night staff, Mike in particular were wonderful and helpful and extremely attentive. The team of Dr's and the learning interns were also very amiable and professional. No one wants to stay in the hospital but the staff made it a decent experience. Thank you 😊

Yesterday I was brought into the ER via ambulance unable to breathe. The nurse checking me in said “she’s a smoker, take away her oxygen”. When my O2 level dropped below 90% and the EMT tried to give me back the oxygen, she told him to take it way from me. She then sent me to the walk in waiting room without telling anyone I was there. I spent the next two hours unable to breathe and no one would help me. I asked a nurse to get me a patient advocate since no one seemed to care that I couldn’t breathe. That nurse refused saying a patient advocate was not available to patients. Eventually I had a full blown panic attack and tried to leave. THAT is when someone (a security guard) decided I needed a doctor and moved me to the fast track section. While the dr in that area was extremely nice, the nurse was another nasty and rude woman. In the end, they sent me home still unable to breathe and with nothing to help me do so. This hospital was a mess when it was Winthrop. Now that it is NYU Langone it is even worse.

Thanks to Obamacare, the conglomeration takeover of our healthcare system has produced third world country results. This WAS a great hospital before the takeover of NYU. Upon entering the ER, it felt like the end of the world in a filthy, third world country. It took at least 4 hours to get to triage. Then, they decided the bed wasn't seen clean (and there was no one to clean it), so we has to sit in the hallway for another hour. What appalled me the most was the lack of any universal precautions that should be practiced in healthcare. Before NYU takeover, the staff cleaned EVERYTHING. The carts used to take vitals and draw blood were constantly cleaned with Cavi wipes after each person. I was in the ER for a total of 12 hours and NOT ONCE did a nurse on either shift clean a thing. The bed mate next door vomited all over the floor. I told the nurse twice before she called anyone to clean it. The bathroom had urine floating on the floor and no one ever cleaned that. I had to walk down the hall for another bathroom. Then, the bed mate next door's vomit bag fell on the floor and it sat there, on the floor, for hours without anyone discarding it, or giving her another. I watched nurses draw blood with gloves, and with the same gloves, leave the patient's room and rummage through drawers to get what they needed, NEVER changing the gloves. The carts used to put all of the tools they needed to draw blood were not cleaned between patients. The nurse scanned the bracelets of patients with the same gloves used to draw blood and never cleaned the scanning device. The dirty linen bags were overflowing. The bio-hazard sharps container was overflowing and I watched a nurse push it down with her hands!!!! You're likely to come home with a disease you didn't come in with.

I don't know much except for the radiation dept. They are wonderful. However, the parking attendants are rude, not helpful, and used a term I could never get away with using. When leaving the lot as a patient undergoing radiation, you leave where you don't need to pay. They arrows are against a wall with no words or actual information. There are two choices, and i made the wrong one. The attendant didn't want to help. He wanted me to take a ticket and pay. When he finally came over, he said' "YOU people don't know how to read signs!". Oh, so is the YOU referring to me as a woman, a white woman, or a cancer patient? BTW, there aren't any words to read!

I would give zero star! Worst emergency i have ever seen in USA! It’s been 6 hours I was waiting with my 9/10 painful injured back (fell stairs down) and they didn’t even give me a simple pain medication or doctor didn’t show up atall during this 6 hours! A nurse was specifically very rude! As if she is doing favor to the hospital by her presence! I also work in a world famous hospital but our emergency doesn’t make patients suffer like this! Atleast you can train your nurses to talk nicely to patients! Even after multiple requests, no doctor showed up in 6 hours! One star is even too much for this hospital.

I took my husband to the ER last night after having 105.1 temperature. Though his temp went down but not away we sat there for 2.5 hours and was not seen. That is absolutely unacceptable, not to mention we were sitting damn near at the front door and the ER was empty. I can count on 1 hand how many people walked through that door as we sat there waiting. Wintrop use to be the best its service has shifted drastically over the years.

They input most information you tell them as I’m guessing another patients information. It seems like multiple visits I had had incorrect statements about health, arrival and doctors will refuse to speak to your physicians. They will randomly give you any tests they see fit to get more money. I was not informed of several tests I went through due to being told it was just “protocol” after the fact. Nurses and doctors are intentionally spiteful, they will not put in your insurance information to see if they can get you to pay a several thousand dollar bill. I also had to call five times to get my correct insurance information on my medical bill file. The doctor who I saw was also extremely insensitive and grabbed my head aggressively while in the E.R. Overall, extremely unprofessional staff. I understand it’s a hard time for all medical personnel, but the ones at this hospital are simply vindictive. Avoid here and Northwell hospital at all costs.

If it were possible, I would give this no stars. I wish I had read the reviews before I made the mistake of going to this place. I had very severe stomach pain, could barely stand up. The fear was that it was my appendix. Fortunately, it wasn't. My friend took me to this emergency department because my doctor is affiliated with NYU Langone. We waited hours before I was even triaged. After waiting 6 hours I was finally directed to the "Fast Track" room. Hours later the CT scan was finally done. More hours waiting. The doctor told me it wasn't my appendix and gave his diagnosis. But we had to wait until the radiologist reviewed the films. Another hour passed before that report came in. We had arrived at the hospital at 9:30 PM and it was very busy, but there was only one nurse and one physician's assistant on duty. Severely understaffed. I wasn't released until 9 AM the following morning. Never again.

The ER is atrocious!!! DO NOT GO HERE!! NYU Langone with it's big money takeover of Winthrop has the worst ER!! Nasty overworked nurses, 3 doctor's on the floor you never see, wait time of 8hrs, for nothing, it's disgusting!! The staff are robotic and unempathetic. Perfect combination for someone to get hurt. It saddens me because I loved Winthrop, everything has changed. I really wish I could give this hospital no stars. This ER is dangerous and needs to be seriously checked out by Nassau County.

Wonderful hospital. Love the staff. When i was at my worst they’ve been helping me get to my best before i even fully get discharged because they want to make sure I’m ok. Edit: seriously how is EVERY nurse and doctor but my gosh especially the nurses are all so sweet!!!! Also the recreational therapists too! Super sweet! Cannot talk about how wonderful they are enough everyone there. I’m serious…Just…How?!?! They’re all so wonderful just HOW!?! ^_^ Very and extremely understanding and non judgemental and patient and just…really going above and beyond. Also they have a (if hospitalized) a tv, an iPad on a stand, Wi-Fi, and puzzles and coloring and leg massagers that are to help if you don’t want Lovenox all the time if they think you should have it, everyone is different please be aware of that but the leg “massagers” i call them help with my restless legs too. I’m so happy how everyone is just so sweet. I Cannot talk enough. This was the best hospital recommendation to have been given to me. Yay ^_^! Edit 2: home now. Discharge was very good as well. Everyone made sure i was actually ready and comfortable and it was very nice. Also helped me learn ideal meals and a schedule better from when i went out of schedule for a while being so I’ll. Just so happy and grateful. Every nurse here deserves their own daisy and cinnamon bun. ^_^ but really everyone there will always deserve way more.

If I could give no star I would. Do not go to this hospital! After the NYU Langone takeover of Winthrop this hospital has turned to garbage. The service I received in the ER was disgusting. The system they run if you can even call it a system in the ER is extremely disorganized. The appearance in the ER is like out of the slums. A flustered and overwhelmed nurse checks you in at the front and then people wait in the hallway. No one actually moves to triage. I was there with chest pain for 40 minutes until someone actually gave me a bracelet. The combative nurse even documented the wrong symptoms at check-in and placed me sitting with covid patients. I was there in total for seven hours and about 30-60 minutes of actual real work was completed by any doctor or nurse. No specialist even came to check me out. It took about over an hour or two to even be discharged. They are very understaffed and very disorganized to the point of incompetent. This is a very unsafe hospital. People are going to get hurt going here. Do not go to this hospital for Emergency Care.

There's free parking after 6 days at this facility for a reason. At what should have been end-of-life talk, the doctors decided to begin many procedures that they knew would not assist the patient and their family. The patient's quality of life suffered greatly preceding the days before death. The patient was treated like a lab rat. Bedside mannerisms of the doctors and some nurses were horrible - extremely egotistical. I don't understand how they could be when they got so much wrong (1+1 still equals 2). The idea that patients don't dictate care - doctors do-was very evident. The drugs or procedures they were okay with would give them more practice but did not help the patient. Doctors would say I don't "think..." without scientific proof or logical reason in some cases. NYU Langone is listed as one of the BEST hospitals in NY. However, this is Winthrop Hospital first. Patients beware.

My wife delivered our first child at NYU Winthrop (still calling it that) on 6/29. In terms of the doctors and nursing staff, there are not enough positive words to describe the level of care and professionalism we experienced. My only criticism would be that the maternity ward rooms are kind of old, and need renovations. But otherwise, a great experience for first time parents. Our thanks to Cindy, Alexa, Linda, Lisa and the rest of the nursing staff. You are second to none.

I chose this hospital to give birth in because I heard it’s good (also because my OB practices there.) I think the overall experience is good because the nurses were very professional and there’s a sense of authenticity in how they do their job. I’m a nurse too so I understand how pressuring it may be and having to stay calm under difficult circumstances. What I did not like though, was how one nurse in the L&D unit was too harsh in inserting an IV in my arm. She tied the tourniquet way too tight that I saw my arm turn bluish and when she inserted the gauge, she hit a valve, my vein bursted, and my arm really did turn blue. I was in a lot of pain and uncomfortable with what happened but being a person who did not want to complain, I was grimacing under the mask. I just wished that nurse was more careful. Nevertheless, I got good care in this hospital and I still do commend the nurses because they showed concern for me and my newborn especially when my baby cried a lot during the night that I gave birth. P.S I wish there was a shower room for the dads too in the postpartum unit. My partner had to wipe himself because we had to stay there for 3 days.

I have a friend whose been there for a couple of weeks. I wanted to send him a gift and wanted to check to be sure he gave me his correct information and room number. eventually someone answered the main number but on three occasions i was unable to get anyone on the patient information line other than a brief please hold on in which i held another 22 minutes before giving up. If you have friends or family make sure they wont need to call the patient information and be aware this hospital could not care less about their patients having calls from family or friends recieved.

My personal experience with the Doctors was a good one. They listened attentively and understood my health concerns. They provided a temporary solution in prescribing a medication which lowered my pain. As well as suggestions on following up with certain specialists. My main problem with this hospital has to do with the way they operate. Which is inefficient inept and nonsensical. They make you wait longer after having already seen the Doctor. Instead of doing the necessary exams and last vitals check and discharging you right after. They make you wait each time. A lot of unnecessary wait time. Also one of the nurses was so incompetent she took my blood pressure in my forearm. Overall this place is very chaotic. You’re better off going elsewhere.

Stay away from this place especially the ER. The nurses or techs there at the front desk are disgusting. Took my mom when she was having shortness of breath and chest pain. She was in obvious pain. I work at an urgent care and when we hear chest pain we immediately put the patient in the room. The techs or nurses were laughing and fooling around while patients are waiting to be seen. After about 10 minutes they finally call her name. The tech that wanted to d the EKG was wearing a backpack? I express how unprofessional they are and decided to take my mom somewhere else. I told them they had no urgency to see my mom. One of them mocked me and started to argue with me. As I was leaving they started to laugh and call me crazy. I don’t understand why these people even work in healthcare it’s truly saddening that our family members are treated by trashy people. I took my mom to the queens Presbyterian hospital in queens and they immediately took her in to get an EKG once I wheeled her inside and said chest pain. They were AMAZING. Professional and caring.

The stars are for the staff and their ability to diagnose my condition after coming to the ER. On the other hand, the hospital needs a refresh and more rooms! Was in ER for over 12 hours waiting for a room after being admitted. Finally, I was billed by NYU Nephrology Associates as an outpatient even though I was admitted to the hospital and did not go to their office. They say I am responsible for a copay. Only doctor in Winthrop that billed me that way. Totally unethical, in my opinion.

Labor and delivery amazing I have nothing bad to say about the department I gave birth about 3 weeks ago this hospital is amazing from the beginning til the end. They were very friendly and understanding. Dr Cohen delivered my baby he’s a great doctor I honestly recommend him. The nicu department is great I have so much great things to say about them they are like angels. They took great care of my baby even after I was discharged my baby had to stay for a couple more days they treated him amazing. They said I can call anytime I wanted to find out about my baby and every time I did call they were so friendly and answered all my questions. I 100% recommend this hospital to any moms getting ready to have their little bundle of joy ❤️. Again labor and delivery and the nicu department are the best I love them and all the staff.

Cardiac unit nurses were so sweet to me while being pregnant and admitted there. I wish I wrote down more names but nurse Evelyn and Janice were so sweet. Nurse Evelyn went above and beyond to care for her patients. I thank them all for their hard work !! The high risk team, hematologist team, obgyn team and overall doctors and care really made sure I was discharged healthier. Again, very thankful.

I had a scheduled c section on November 4th with Dr. Richard Roberts and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The nurses assigned to me for my intake and prep communicated every step of the way in preparation for my surgery. Undergoing a huge surgery it is normal to feel nervous and stressed, but Dr. Roberts, my assigned nurses and his assigned team in the ER reassured me, made me feel safe, confident, stress free, and put all my nerves at ease. Words can’t explain how much I appreciate the entire surgical crew. During my cesarean delivery, the staff constantly checked in on me, making sure I was comfortable, communicated what was transpiring, and made my husband and I feel like family every step of they way. I am forever thankful Dr Roberts, his assisting doctor, nurses, and staff did a phenomenal job and made the delivery of my daughter a memorable experience. The nurses during my recovery and postpartum as well were exceptional and caring. I received the best care throughout my entire stay and would highly recommend the maternity unit to upcoming new moms!

I am giving this review 3 stars because of the excellent bedside manner of Dr. George and the bedside nurses. However nursing administration has much to be desired. I was directed to come to the ER by the on call physician. I was reluctant because many of encounters with some staff has been less than desirable. This morning was no exception. When leaving the hospital, I asked for a nursing administrator for help in navigating appointments with a particular department, because I had some issues getting through. Not once did she ask me what was wrong, she told me that it was not her job. She told me to use the patient portal to find a doctor, follow up with my GYN, or do you not have a GYN? Mind you, I have done all that and then some. Call patient relations, which is never a helpful department. I asked her can she some how make a report that the particular department is not responding. Again, she basically got irate and hung the phone up. Never listened, but already made a point of becoming angry and argumentative. Not giving any help toward resolving my issue. With great frustration. The answer that I kept getting there’s nothing we can do. I can’t help you at 4:47 in the morning. Make an appointment on the patient portal, unfortunately not every doctor accepts patients that way. I wasn’t asking this nursing supervisor to do anything, but guide me or intervene with department that could help me. She angrily hung up on me. I tried speaking with ER supervisor, who basically mimicked what the nursing supervisor said and she continued to say there is nothing we can. She told me find another oncologist. She said the ER can’t do anything about that. She also said the ER can not book appointments for patients, I never asked the ER to book any appointments. So what should I do go home and wait. It was only toward the end of her conversation that she stated that they can have a case manager speak with me. I told her that I am very concerned about having to advocate for myself as a minority, especially after an experience at Winthrop with bias behavior, which I complained about. She got upset and said she had to leave before she said something she was not supposed to. So, at the end of the day, what would it have taken for someone to say, the best person to help you navigate this problem would be case management, they come in at 8. I got consistently “there’s nothing we can do”. I am advocating for health and my life and having to fight for it with people who should be helping save lives, leaves me scratching my head.

I arrived at NYU Langone on 06/05/23 in excruciating pain from a blockage in my urinary tracked. I had a 105 fever and my blood pressure was off the chart. Within two hours, I was out of pain, resting comfortably in the ER. Over the next four days, I received the best possible care I could have ever imagined! I interacted with over 35 - 40 health-care professional on all levels. As a group they were some of the kindest, most caring, and competent people I have ever been around. What a Wonderful facility!

Doctors, Nurses, Aids, and all staff are people too!!! Treat them how you want to be treated and keep in mind you are not the only person/patient they have to assist. My daughter was in this Hospital for 35 days... I was able to get to see a lot of what goes on. I'm happy to say I will go there anytime, the staff showed me they will go the extra mile to make sure my daughter received the best care and were the only ones to properly treat her condition.

I was in the ambulatory for heart procedure.. The nurses there couldn’t be nicer especially Samantha M and Nancy, they get five stars, wish I could give them six! Everyone was so nice and caring and helpful. The doctors were great. The food was too plain and not hot. St.Frances does the food right. Other hospitals could learn from them. Thank you all for getting me home!

Recently my Mom had to stay at NYU Langone Hospital in Minneola, NY. I just had to write a review to share how pleased we were with the kindness and professionalism of Ian, who works in the Hospitality Department. Ian worked meticulously to make her room squeaky clean, safe and comfortable at All times. His warmth and caring smile each day of her stay, helped in her recuperation and motivated her to stay positive. We are truly thankful for Ian’s hard work and conscientiousness.

My sister was visiting my father in the hospital, and felt faint. While I was not around, a nurse asked her her name and address, and put a bracelet around her wrist. They then did not allow us to leave, and forced us to sign a bunch of forms, saying that we were not allowed to leave against medical advice, triggering an unwanted ER visit, which is an inappropriate level of care for her symptoms. One of the nurses was very unprofessional, and insinuated that it would be child abuse for us to leave. The physician discharged her after about 3 minutes of patient contact. They billed the insurance for over $5000.

The nursing Assistant, her name is Lorraine are very rude. I was sitting next to the door in my patient room, she barging into the room telling me “oh you not supposed to sit there, you can sit next to the wall near my patient” when i finally put the chair next to my patient, I faced the chair besides my patient bed, this women had the audacity to tell me “ why do you have to sit facing the patient.” I finally snapped at her asking her, why you have to be so rude, she said “well I’m Jamaican that’s how I speak.” I said okay. If you don’t like your job why doing it. I have Jamaican friends and they don’t speak to human so disrespectful. Her culture has nothing to do the way she speak to patients members in the hospital.

Recently had my second c-section at this hospital and I had a great experience with all the staff and the doctor. Dr.Richard Roberts is a seasoned professional with high level of detail and care. I drive out of my way to keep him as my OB, I can’t say enough amazing things about him. I 1000% recommended him to friends and family. During our stay the surgical staff was friendly , efficient and communicative. You can tell the nurses care and love what they do. When we were moved from the post surgical care unit to our room everyone we rolled by yelled out, “congratulations momma!”, it brought a tear to my eye. From the nurses, to the hospital staff, to the food service people that took care of us really took pride in their work and did it with a smile on their face! I want to shout out Vanessa Tirkha who was the warmest nurse I have ever had, Shiney V. Who was professional and a wealth of knowledge. And Linda C. who was the sweetest!!

I would like to start with this used to be called "Winthrop Hospital" it changed in November 2020. My mother had to come in here for a valve replacement surgery. This hospital is about an hour away from my moms home so we were unfamiliar with the area. The hospital itself is surrounded by homes and is basically in a residential area so parking can be a challenge. If you are dropping someone off, picking someone up, or there to check in for your surgery you can pull up front and make your drop off / pick up or the Valet will park for surgeries. If you are visiting then you have to go to the other side of the hospital almost like you are pulling into the emergency room then they will direct you to the parking garage. There is also street parking with meters, however, they are very strict I was told and if you are late getting back to your car you will get a ticket. Because hospital times / stays etc are unpredictable I would suggest their garage. Security will validate the parking ticket for you if you have an extended stay person you are visiting. Or if you're nice they might validate it anyway. I have been in plenty of hospitals throughout my life for various reasons and this was one of best. When you call - no matter where you call, the wing my mom was in, the ICU area looking for where my mom was moved to, to the main number looking for a patient - you speak with a professional, kind person. The nurses were also top notch. When they would come to take my moms blood they were so kind and sweet. They were right there whenever she needed something. From the person that greets you at the door, to the security, to the people who give you a the pass with your name on it, to the nurses and doctors Thank you for being so awesome, kind, caring, friendly, and going above and beyond! I have never been to a hospital where everyone appeared to enjoy their job and the people who they interact with. I would highly recommend this hospital and wished more hospitals would follow whatever guidelines NYU Langone Hospital has!

Wonderful experience! Best care. Clean. Yes it’s small compared to others like Northshore or NY Presbyterian but that’s the charm. It’s a teaching hospital so the care is that much more. Great place. Excellent doctors and medical staff. Highly recommend Winthrop.

I was scheduled on March 17th 2022 for a CT Scan Bone Biopsy and fron the moment I walked into the hospital I was greeted and directed efficiently and with smiles. When I got to the 2nd floor the person who signed me in also greeted me with a smile and he told me of what would happen next. Told my husband that due to Covid he would have to remain in the lobby and cafe and that my husband would be notified when I was in the treatment room and then again when he could come back up when I was ready to leave. The nurse/attendand who then did all the prep whose name is Mark was pleasant, compassionate, and was very experienced in putting in IV's Then Dr. Hussain who wouold assist the attending dr. introduced himself to me and went over the procedure. He was very nice. Then I med Dr. Joshi who was going to do the procedure. He explained exactly how he would do the procedure and I had a few questions and he answered on a level I would understand. The attending nurse during the procedure was Linda M. she was my angel. She held my hand and kept reassuring me that I was doing very well. I was extremely comfortable with her at my side. The first discharge nurse Precious got me something to drink and eat and made me comfortable. The 2nd discharge nurse Paula M. was also wonderful and very efficient in reviewing all the discharge notes and what I should expect, etc. She was pleasant and helped me in every aspect for discharge. My experience was a 10

My NYU Langone medical team members are healing angels. I am grateful to them. I compliment the NYU Langone/ Winthrop upper management and executives for creating such a caregiving organization where everyone shares a common mission to help heal those in their charge. I hope my note is seen by those who cared for me. Doctors, nurses, attendants, cafeteria and custodians. Everyone made a difference in my healing process. You are my angels. I felt it. I saw it. You are doing God’s work. Feel good that you made a difference in my life. I get to hug my grandkids and puppy and ready and able to give back unconditionally. Please stay well. With Gratitude, Michael P. Gentile.

Absolutely horrrible experience in the ER. I came in at 6:00 am yesterday in extreme pain. After testing I found it was a kidney stone and was supposed to have it surgically removed that night. I couldn't eat or drink anything for the entire day because of this pending surgery. Well at 11 pm they told me that I am not getting the surgery until the morning or maybe the next afternoon ("who knows" were their exact words). Another 24 hours to not eat or drink anything at all. No one hooked up my IV. Just for the next afternoon they told me they are no longer doing the surgery and I have to schedule the procedure or wait 12 or more hours for the operating room to be available. So another day with no food or water just so they could send me home with nothing. Thanks a lot. Not to mention I missed work. All of this for money for the ER. They do not care about your life, your family, your job or your health.

I am a patient of Dr. Richard Roberts (OB/GYN). Dr. Roberts delivered our daughter here and she was in the NICU for 38 days after. Dr. Roberts is an incredible surgeon and kind man who helped put me at ease during this difficult time. The entire NICU team is absolutely phenomenal. They are beyond patient, knowledgeable and attentive. My daughter would not be where she is today if not for Dr. Roberts and the NICU team. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I have delivered 3 babies here with Dr. Roberta. The labor and delivery staff is superior to any other staff I’ve seen. The nurses treat you with respect, and kindness. My last delivery I could not have been happier with both nurses I had. I have very long labors so I am used to staff changes. I was lucky enough to have the same nurse twice when she came back for her next shift. I was so happy to deliver my daughter with her, I delivered her within the first 45 min of her shift. The staff who came in when I was ready to deliver was amazing as well. Everyone who is there learning, is learning with the best! I delivered 3 healthy babies, one had a short stay in the NICU, and there is no other hospital I would trust with my children.I drove over an hour for my last two deliveries just to be in a place with amazing staff, and amazing care. Thank you!

I’m so disappointed in Winthrop I went to the emergency room only for it to look as if they was having a party . Patients lined up in the hall ways before entering the door for check in nurse. The women that was checking patients in was very rude and nasty . She seemed over worked and should have been sent home ! After finding out the wait was 3-4 hours I left without even getting care . I will never go back to this hospital because of this experience!

My mom has had her share of medical battles and this may be her last. She has been here for the past three weeks and I can not thank the entire HOAG 2nd floor medical nursing team enough. Their knowledge and expertise combined with their compassion and empathy has mastered the perfect balance for the care needed towards their patients/your loved ones. I applaud the team work that has been demonstrating not just to my mom but to all the patient they come In contact with. Of course, nothing can be perfect, so, there are a few nursing assistants that are showing themselves to be tired and unhappy to perform the good quality of care which is needed. To those few, I recommend they move on and find another type of job they themselves would be happy with. Thank you NYU Langone/Winthrop Hospital for all the employees within the lobby cafe. They let me share my moms experiences in chat while lending an ear. To the cleaning crew who makes sure the smallest of details were taken care of throughout the hospital, thank you. Thank you for making our mom, grandma, great grandma and family feel like we were your family too.

My husband has been I’ll with various ailments for the past seven months, none of it is connected. From open heart surgery to dehydration to compression fractures in his spine, NYULANGONE Long Island has been fantastic! From the doctors and nurses to the cleaning staff. They are all professionals and caring individuals. I will always bring my husband here and I’ll tell everyone that this is the best hospital with the best staff around.

Watched my father fight to get out of icu and then no one gave him a speech and swallow test but they started feeding him solid food and he aspirated. Couldn't get a bed back in icu. He fought for 10 more hours till they finally got one, but then he coded, they then broke his ribs. They had to put the intubation tube back in and when they did they popped his lung. Gave him sepsis. Wasn't a piece of that poor man they didn't destroy and he finally passed once there was truly nothing anyone could do for him... Terrible hospital , students making decisions about people's fathers... no answers or justice for me , my father or family. Hope whole place gets shut down

All the ER staff, especially Kristina Sieligowski RN in the ER took care of my sister during her ER visit. She was attentive, patient, knowledgeaable and caring. She provide an excellent level of care even with the triage area & ER area being fully packed. Thank you for being a great person/nurse. Patient RJ

Worst hospital ever!! Stay away. My husband had an issue during an ambulatory procedure and was then brought to Winthrop. Dirty hospital and all the cat scan machines were broken. After ten hours we asked for him to be discharged. Rather run over to LIJ and start the process again in their ER!

In may of 2022 my sister was put into NUMC in East Meadow and after about 2 months was transfered over to Winthrop. Upon arrival she was greated with nothing but the nicest nurses and doctors. Sadly she spent 6 long months in the hospital, but because of winthrops ICU nurses and dr's she is alive. With every call, every meeting, and every question my mother had made the dr's and nurses gave my mom there undivided attention and explained everything. The ICU nurses did everything to make my sister comfortable and made sure that she did nothing but succeed in a better life during her hospital stay. My sister was able to come home in early november of 2022 and she has made such an aprovements. December 2022 we ended up needing to bring in my son to the emergency room for high fevers that gave him a high heart rate. The wait time was a lot for a 2 year old but once we got back to the pedatric ER they did everything to make sure my sons tempature broke, kept him hydrated, and when his heart rate came down his dr in the ER was so excited to see us be discharged! His test results came back in an hour and they made sure to explain how to care for what he had and made us feel better! We 100% reccommend winthrop for all the medical needs

They gave my fiancé a patient here, a tray with just coffee for lunch! Handed it to her with a straight faced saying “Here I have a tray for you”! Nurses were amazing courteous and took special interest and provided excellent care. Be aware they don’t have some of specialist doctors on legal holidays, so we had to wait for the next day for that,

On June 28th, I took my daughter to the ER because she was having trouble breathing. After waiting quite awhile she had an EKG, C-scan (no contrast) and chest x-ray. We were told she was fine. We returned on June 30th cause she wasn't getting any better. Same diagnosis. We came again on July 2nd. They did another EKG, chest x-ray and C-scan(no contrast) and this doctor told us she was fine and had nothing life threatening. On July 3rd I called our primary cares office because she was getting worse. She was very lethargic, her oxygen level was dropping into the 80's and twice into the 70's, when you spoke to her she just stared at you. Very frightening. The doctor said to take her back to ER he was calling to let them know. We made it out my front door and I had to call an ambulance. They took her to the closest hospital, which was NUMC in East Meadow. They did testing immediately EKG, CHEST X-RAY and a C-SCAN with CONTRAST and within about 3 hours we found out she was anemic, had PNEUMONIA and also a BLOOD CLOT IN HER LUNG She spent 2 weeks in the hospital and is now feeling much better and is on blood thinners (for the clot). I do believe my daughter DID HAVE SOMETHING LIFE THREATENING no thanks to Nyu Langone Winthrop's emergency room department. I do believe they do need to do a complete overhaul of their emergency room. Most of the nurses were good, but the last doctor who discharged her on July 2nd made us feel like we were bothering him and he showed no caring or compassion, he is the one who told us she had nothing life threatening.. sorry NYULANGONE but although you did excellent with my husband's transplant, you get ZERO STARS for taking care of my daughter

A disaster of a hospital. They see dollar signs and that drives their plan of action. Resident was a goofy novice (at best); attending was rude & headstrong. Nurses were friendly and accommodating and kind. Stay far away. This place is horrendous.
