    I have spent all morning trying to get to your dental department. It kept saying there were just two in cue well that was a lie I lasted over four hours on hold when it was finally my turn my call was hung up. How dare you? You have such a little regard for your patience! Do you not respect our time? I understand that they may want a person to go over there and physically pick up the appointment but when you do that nine out of 10 times the day of your appointment they don’t have an approval so they sent you home with a phone number to call and set up an appointment this is by far the most disrespectful rudest center for people please please please avoid it avoid it as much as you possibly can there’s Mount Sinai there is metropolitan. I am going to call my insurance to see if I can transfer my dentist nobody should have to go through this I have waited over six months and nothing I am disgusted there is no reason why I should even go or place myself in a situation where my anxiety is already high and then I have to come here to deal with this unacceptable

    The dental office receptionist downstairs is very rude and she was very dismissive. As someone who attempted to be a new patient so that I can visit my PCP and possible Dentist all in one location I would not recommend any City employee to go there even if the insurance eventually becomes accepted. The staff needs a uplift on welcoming guests and a course on customer service. This is very unacceptable. We all have a job to do. As people of the public who I highly pride in, on providing essential services I expected a much better experience. This pandemic got us down, but it don’t have us out! We are all in this together!

    Once you get past the hurdle of the referral/intake, it's just fine. Most of the communications with the physicians can be done via the MyChart app (appointments, prescription questions, etc). Not so much with any caseworkers or therapists, though. I highly recommend you get the app: MyChart by Epic appsto.re/us/in20w.i They have super late hours. This is a HUGE plus for me. Where else can you make an 8PM appointment on a weekend??? The facilities are always clean. Especially as late as I come in. Because I've seen some messy adults with their even messier kids wreck the waiting room on my earlier visits. It's only as good as you treat it people... And the free King-sized condoms don't hurt either. Well... I'm not even going to finish that thought.

    I gave your office a call today around 3:19 PM on October 30th, 2023, hoping to set up an appointment for my dad. To my surprise, the woman I spoke with came across as extremely disrespectful and rude, even while I was simply providing my information. When I expressed my concern about her behavior and requested to speak with someone else, she abruptly hung up the phone on me. I'm left wondering about the quality of service your establishment offers when the individuals answering the phone don't seem to prioritize basic manners and courtesy.

    I just got off the phone with the dental department and the person was extremely rude and hung up on me. They are asking me to go through the same process of making an appointment so that they can submit the claim to my insurance. It turns out that the last time I did this months ago they NEVER put in the claim in so I have to do the same process again because of their negligence. When I explained this to her she said “I’m not going to tell you what you want to hear” meaning taking accountability for their mistake. And then she hung up in my face. EXTREMELY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. My insurance won’t let me change dentists within a 6 month period or else I would never go back here again. They deserve ZERO STARS.

    This place has gotten ridiculous. The staff is very disrespectful. They make you wait on the phone for 2 to 4 hours to make an appointment, and then the appointment is always like 3 months later. When you get to the appt. they telling you have to wait an extra 2 hours because they over booked fot the day. Sometimes they just make you sit there and wait. If you mad about it they get nasty. You have to wait forever for EVERYTHING. This is unacceptable.

    Over 7 hours on hold just to try to make a dental appointment. To call back again to then have the call “mysteriously” ended. To call again to reach after hours care who “leave a message” every single time. Pretty sure my message reaches the garbage because no one calls back. Then this process of being on hold for over 3hrs repeats every time you call. And this has been for 2 weeks straight now. The dentist are great that’s about it

    I’ve been a patient for almost a decade now if not already. I started receiving medical care not long after the center opened its doors. I am satisfied with medical care. Since the pandemic I think it’s harder to get a walk-in appointment. I am disappointed there are no longer a variety of medical specialists, I had a good Neurologist (Dr. Zhou) and have not seen neurology since. Mental health is a bit stagnant especially for those who would like to see a psychiatrist there aren’t really emergency appointments available. Pre-pandemic the dental has always been very difficult to get into for appointments and walk-ins are almost impossible (you must line up outside between 6- 7 AM for a walk-in spot, walk-ins start somewhere between 8:30- 9AM) and since the pandemic chances for a walk-in spot are slim. If you need to see an oral surgeon, since the dental departments oral surgeon is reportedly in only on Saturdays you will be referred to another clinic to see an oral surgeon. However, if you need a hospital setting for oral surgery such as myself the dental department here is not great with referring you to that setting and that should not be the case concerning continuity care. Telephone hold times for appointments can be hours at a time (dental worse than medical). The care here is adequate, good in fact. It is with hopes ease with scheduling appointments and care, especially dental improves in a timely fashion.

    I been on the phone for 3 hrs! Just trying to schedule a dental appointment and I'm on que 1,yet they say there experiencing alot of calls but I'm the only person calling to make an appointment hence being que 1. There not doing there jobs and I just might file a complaint with the director of family health institute and let them know that I been trying to make an appointment for 3 hrs. I have other things to attend to and this is just wasting my day away. After I file a complaint I just might pick another facility to schedule a dental appointment cuz this is ridiculous.

    The worst! My mom came in asking what day she can make an appointment and the lady said on Tuesday- my mom then asked if she can make an appointment another day and the receptionist got angry at my mom giving her attitude and my mom politely asked if she can go another day and the lady simply ignored her and my mom was forced to leave bc nobody would attend to her. Lots of crackheads there too DO NOT RECOMMEND!

    I can never get anyone by phone, since my last visit in 2020. I just need a simple letter faxed over to me since I was recommended for an emergency dental procedure (in July 2020) that can only be done via referral. No matter how long I hold, am transferred, or sent to the operator, I am ALWAYS met with an answering machine, or the call mysteriously ends. I’ve put off this dental procedure long enough due to the difficulty of obtaining this referral. I am staying in Jersey and work remotely, so the convenience of reaching someone by phone would be greatly appreciated.

    I made an appointment here because they were one of the only dentists who take my insurance and I desperately needed to see a doctor regarding dental implants. Firstly, the attendant at the front desk told me they would not be able to see me, after waiting over a month for this appointment, because I was 10 minutes late. They ended up seeing me later that afternoon. Once I finally saw the doctor he said they do not do dental implants, but referred me to someone, who he said was “one of the best prosthodontist in nyc”. He said they would also accept my insurance. I called the office myself immediately after and they said they do not accept any insurance. Obviously this doctor who I saw only gave me this recommendation because they have a deal and he is being paid to recommend patients. Extremely disappointed and frustrated that a health center which sees primarily low income patients desperate for health care would exploit people’s trust in this way. Not only did they push my appointment back several hours, but they did nothing to help me and I feel as though I cannot trust anything I was told by the health care professionals I saw because they clearly have private interests. Even if you have Fidelis Medicaid I would recommend trying somewhere else.

    don't make an appointment with Dr. Julia Cooper. I came to be prescribed medication, she said to take tests and then I will prescribe them. As a result, I passed the tests, but she did not confirm my drugs. Through the application it is impossible to contact or get through to her. in the reception, because of my poor English, I was served in a terrible way. the woman took her head and pretended that I was stupid and did not understand anything. When I was at the reception, 4 doctors served me and took time. I sat there for 2.5 hours. All I had to do was prescribe pills. In general, I will send a complaint to the Ministry of Health.

    Always impossible to contact and get timely care. I left two messages via mychart that were viewed by staff over a week ago and never received a response. Even if it is busy the staff have never had any regard for what their patients may need in my last 5 years coming to this practice.

    Thought I'd give them another chance... What a MISTAKE! Waited from 1pm to ALMOST 5pm to be seen as an emergency. I was in pain with a broken tooth.😖🤕 Was never called. What a joke. . And when call, I can never get through.. Either they hang up or I wait over 2 hours on hold. Ridiculous.. They should be shut down!

    Unorganized, usually disrespectful, impatient almost every single time, and clueless. ALWAYS miscommunication among staff. Nothing is ever direct and I’m often reluctant to ask questions to anyone because of the response I am certain I will get. No one wants to be bothered. And everyone seems annoyed. Every seems to hate their job. And everyone seems under qualified. NEVER FAILS. Been going here for years hoping for a change and it gets progressively worse. Place is just close to where I live and and I sacrifice everything for that convenience. But never again will I do that this place sucks.

    The operations here are awful!! Have been waiting 5 weeks for my pre-authorization from my insurance and when I called to check the status with the receptionist, I was told that the paperwork hadn’t even been submitted to the insurance!! It’s been 5 weeks and now I’m at risk of not getting what I need in time for my appointment because of their lack of empathy or commitment to service their patients! This is unacceptable!

    This is for the dentist, Dr. Atsaves... There are not enough stars in the galaxy to give Dr. Atsaves. I scheduled my husband's appointment for a root canal and had to wait 4 months for the appointment, but it was well worth the wait! She is God's hands on earth. I've been in the medical field for years and never met a Dr or DMD with as much patience for a patient like Dr Atsaves. My husband had a late appointment and needed other corrections made on the tooth, and she did the job!! After 5:30pm when staff want home, she continued to do her work, and was her own assistant! She went above and beyond for my husband, and i'm sure for other patients as well. And I just wanted to take the time out to acknowledge that on behalf of my husband. Her patience and deep empathy is truly a testament to her devotion and respect of the Oath she made years ago. Thank you Dr. Atsaves!!!!

    zero stars, waiting on the phone for hours for them to hang up on me every time ( 3 days straight). this cannot be a coincidence, terrible terrible please hire new representative because yall are definitely losing out on patients if everyone is saying the same thing. also for everyone else i was able to get an appt ASAP with no hassle at (pura dental center )and they take most insurance. same area ....goodluck!

    I understand this institute caters to some low-income families thereby contributing to a noble cause. But its dental department's customer disrespect is beyond imagination. I was late for the app by 20 mins, and was told that one of my two sons could not see the doctor that day. They also asked me to fill out forms. I asked for the reason and the supervisor there refuted with utmost disrespect saying I did not let her finish. In fact, she did not listen to me. They simply could not locate my sons' records even though they were at the clinic in January 2021 (on top of that, it is very difficult to make an appointment). My other son finally saw the doctor over one hour later due to the mistake. I insisted we should be able to switch my sons, as my older son has urgent needs (diagnosed in April) and yet, the next appointment is December 14, three months after! Hooray for their complete disregard to the patient's well-being, over the inflexible bureaucracy! The day after I put this review on Google, they reached out to me immediately to remedy the situation and I got an appointment for tomorrow. Thank you for the swift action!

    Absolutely ridiculously INCOMPETENT, negligent and a total disrespect and disregard to the integrity and operations of health care. Whomever is in charge, how are you’ll ok with reading these reviews from your patients expressing years of mistreatment, no care and abusrd call wait times- and continue to conduct business as usual? HOW? I have literally been on the phone for 3 HOURS waiting for someone to answer to schedule an appointment for an EMERGENCY of mine. HOW IN THE FKKKK IS THIS OKAY?????? Someone please respond back to my message with any and all information for me to take this to the next level of reporting this location. Because the amount of disgust I feel for having to be on hold for 3 hours just to make an appointment- and still wasn’t able to secure an appointment- is overwhelming infuriating. I’m boiling with anger as I know that NO where else operates this way or is ALLOWED to operate this way- why is Harlem Health allowed to continue this way is beyond me. We the people have the power to shut places like this down if we fight take action and stick together.

    Please don’t waste your time with this place, it’s not worth wasting your lunch break to try and make any appointments because you’ll sit on hold for up to 2 hours only to be hung up on. Something is seriously wrong with this company & I’m surprised that they’re still able to even be operating. The better business bureau needs to do an analysis because someone looking at anything going on here would get things closed instantly. The most unprofessional & rude call staff.

    patient did medical clearances in this office. They refuse to send it even on day before surgery. If you are not going to send the medical clearances, dont do it. refer your patients somewhere else. Most of the patients who were seen in this LOCATION were cancelled due to no medical clearances from this OFFICE. HORRIBLE PLACE to get your physical or clearances done for surgery.

    The hold for the phone is beyond ridiculous. I decided to do a call back and when they did call back it wasn't the office it's self that called it was a live rep that connects you back to the office. I just dont get how that makes sense. If I get a call back Im expecting someone to schedule my appt not for me to be transfered back, for that I would have stood on the line. Also, this place is always packed and you won't be seen at your appt time, it will more less be about 2hr wait.

    This place has no structure. Their staff is out of order. Nothing is what it’s supposed to be from the time they supposed to open to the walk in process. I’m highly unsatisfied with this place and do not recommend it to anyone. If you have something or somewhere important to be don’t come here cuz you’ll never make it out in time. This facility definitely needs new management ASAP.

    It's okay, I would've thought everyone really care about patient’s needs, sometimes when registering I don't feel welcome/comfortable, makes me want to give up on my appointments altogether due to the attitudes, doctor's don't seem like they care like they use to before Covid, something happened It's not the same nomore with doctor clinics doctor's period 🤷‍♀️😢🙏

    IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NEGATIVE STARS AND A 0 I WOULD!!! LITERALLY THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN!     Today I went to see the dentist. I was running aleast 5 mins late so I called. When i got there I registered then sat down with my two kids, shortly afterwards the desk called me to say Dr. DEMETRA ATSAVES said she isnt going to see me. I Explained all that i needed to do because i just got an emergency implant, and i really needed to be seen and i would like to talk to her she made me wait for almost 40mins and never came to speak to but said i need to get a new appointment. She is very unprofessional and she has no form of heart. I am so angry.

    Horrible. This place will do more for the community if it was shut down and turned in to anything else besides a clinic. Place sucks. 10+ years of a disservice/inconvenience to Harlem. If you need any medical attention this is NOT the place to go. You will die twice maybe three times before you are seen or taken care of. Promise you. Long dragged out wait times. Condescending and rude front desk staff. Everyone seems to be lost or looking confused. No one has any answers ever and you’ll probably leave worse than how you came in.
