Nice little local coffee spot. The drinks were hot and the snacks were tasty. I love stumbling on new little places like this. The staff are friendly and will make sure you get what you want while you are there.

Loved this coffee and this place. It was a nice place to take a break from tons of walking. They have plenty of seating and seemed very friendly for pretty much anyone. There were families, students, and couples. The kids were having fun and didn't seem to bother the staff any which is nice to see. They have an outdoor space but it was raining the day we were there. Oh well.

Local coffeeshop on a quiet street with their own roasts and in-house patisserie offerings. Delicious, well balanced coffee and tiramisu made with their own espresso!

The best coffee shop in the Upper West Side and one of the top 3 coffee shops in New York. The consistency of their espresso, the quality of their own roasted beans. I had the opportunity to try coffees around the world, cities like London, Mexico City, Toronto, Vancouver and this coffee shop it’s one of his kind, it’s a gem. I highly recommend to try the espresso, the pour over and also the savory and sweets. You can find sourdough pancakes 🥞 some weekends.

The inside is super cute! There’s a cozy area in the back and a small outdoor patio as well. The coffee tasted pretty good. Breakfast options seemed a bit pricey.

My favorite local coffee spot in UWS - great coffee, pastry, and breakfast sandwiches. Love the cardamom bun (not to sweet, density is perfect) and banana bread. The back has great seating and I love the small outdoor bar area - perfect to enjoy a coffee and pastry!

Killer coffee shop with incredible coffee! This quaint little coffee shop is a treasure. Whatever roasts they’re using here are top notch - my Americano was silky smooth and miraculously creamy. Such a nice aroma in the room and from each drink… left me wanting a refill. Really cozy spot and plentiful indoor seating. Kuddos to the baristas for an incredible job!

On a trip to NYC, this quickly became our favorite coffee and breakfast spot as we were staying right across the street in Upper West Side! The staff were all so kind and helpful with suggestions. It’s apparent this place is ran smoothly… job well done! The coffee and food were both stellar!!! Compared to other shops in the city, this place had a good amount of space. Prices are to be expected in the city.

I love the coffee.. great roasting and flavors. Good espresso and batch brews. The food is INCREDIBLE. Classic toasts/sweets from Olga are my favorite. Please note that food is only available on the weekend right now.

Probably the best coffee I’ve found in this area at this small neighborhood spot. In addition to the coffee, their changing menu of kitchen items and baked goods are exceptionally good as well. Not really anyplace you can sit inside, but great place to grab something and walk a block to the park.

Very cute neighborhood coffee place. Wish their pastries tasted better and a dollar cheaper is I don't have to run around the corner to another place to get a better and cheaper pastry. But definitely the best coffee and sitting area in the neighborhood. Would definitely go back.

By far my favorite coffee in the neighborhood. Batch brews are always fruity, bright, colorful, and interesting. Never had a coffee here i didn’t at least like. Wish they had just a little more seating, but it’s a small space. Support interesting local coffee shops!

In town and discovered this spot with a friend. Loved the energy, the coffee and space. Ordered a pour over to try one of their black coffees and loved it so much I bought a bag on the spot. The pastry was okay, but probably wasn't the best given it was the end of the day. Service was wonderful and they helped me get more informed on their different coffee beans.

This is a bit of a mixed review. During our first visit (Friday), I could say I had one of the best lattes I ever had. The Salted Caramel latte was well balanced, the espresso was rich and full bodied, the milk was perfectly silky. The store had a cozy holiday vibe and was not as busy. The pastry I ordered was ok too. Based on my first visit, this place absolutely deserved 5 stars and beyond. The coffee was so amazing that I couldn’t stop thinking about it and we went back on Sunday morning. Sadly, the coffee wasn’t anywhere close to what I had two days earlier. Tried a different pastry which was ok too. I would say a 4 stars experience this time around? Maybe it was the Sunday barista that didn’t execute? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Averaged out, this place still gets 5 stars. I’ll try again during my next trip to NYC and adjust my review accordingly.

No wifi, but let's be honest, it's probably better for everybody's productivity who doesn't need to be online. Great coffee, a good amount of seating, but it's a really popular place so it's still gonna be hard to find at popular times. Back area has the best ambiance, also small outdoor seating on stools at the very back for nice weather days!

Creative and inventive menu. Small portion and a bit on the pricey side (as to be expected in NYC). We had a cabonara toast, which is tasty and a tad salty, and a beet bowl, which is interesting and tasty as well.

Surprisingly difficult to find great coffee around Times Square, nearly impossible to find a cafe with sit down area to work, this place has both. Was so glad to find Solid State and want to acknowledge the perfectly aerated milk on the flat white. Greatly appreciated

This is my favorite neighborhood cafe; I've been coming here since the day I first moved into UWS and has been a regular ever since for over 1+ year. Great-tasting and beautiful coffee with a cool vibe, lots of seating area to get some work done (though there's no WiFI) and has a good food options as well.

Grabbed a cortado at Solid State, personally wasn't a fan of their espresso. The service was excellent, however. No seating available, the atmosphere seems to encourage more of a grab n' go patronage.

How have I not previously known about this magical place. Sublime latte. Stay and have it in a proper ceramic mug. Yasmin greeting you and making your beverage with love and precision is a true treat. They also sell bagged coffee, ceramics (made by Jasmin Elephant) and lots of lovely baked goods (I resisted this time, but will try another time). Jasmin reports they usually have hand crafted sandwiches but the kitchen happened to be closed today. Indoor and outdoor places to enjoy your coffee.

Super friendly team! The espresso was a show stopper, but don’t sleep on the pastries! Some of the very best I’ve had… ever (and I’m a pastry cook!). We ordered the Vatrushka, the apple danish, and the bacon and cheddar danish. Trust me when I tell you that Solid State is worth going out of your way for. Thank me later!

Incredible customer service. The guy clearly knows his coffee. For some thing as basic as a cortado, he took the time to explain the the origin of the beans that were in it. The coffee itself was delicious, a work of art. I love the ambience. Quiet enough to get work done while still having conversation if you want to.

Excellent coffee. Espresso drinks are exceptionally well made. Easily the best coffee in the neighborhood and up there with some of the best in the city. Many of the cafes in this neighborhood are style over substance, but not Solid State – the quality is always there. Baristas are always friendly and professional, and thankfully take the time needed to make a good drink. I haven’t tried the food but their pastry selection always looks great, if a little bit expensive.

I’m a “if it’s hot and black I’ll drink it” type of coffee person, and this place fit the bill and then some. Quality coffee in a small place (not good for a meeting, but a stop and grab and go type place). Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

The coffee warrants all the 5 star reviews. Phenomebal and well balanced coffee. Shop itself is unassuming amd small, but well worth a detour for their coffee. I haven't tried any of the sweets or food yet, but they look quite nice.

Yum! I asked the sweet boy for some guidance on my order, and after some discussion he recommended I try a long shot oat cortado with a bean that had a funky taste to it. It was so delicious! It was one of the more interesting flavor profiles that I have had in a while. I really appreciate the workers suggestions and friendly service.

Great matcha oatmilk latte. Tried this eclaire like pastry with raspberry flavor filling. Tasty and not too sweet.

An excellent addition to the neighborhood. Great coffee that has ruined other local coffee for me. Their in-house pastries are excellent, and the staff is warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. There's limited outdoor seating (a couple small tables) and no indoor seating -- best to take your order to-go.

I LOVE this place..such a gem of a local coffee shop on the upper west side. I come here weekly and have enjoyed everything I’ve tried, and the ambiance is on point. Bacon cheddar danish is great, pumpkin spice latte is super tasty, latte superb. I love that they use house made flavors and not gross syrups, and the coffee is good quality. My only gripe, and this might be a personal problem, is with the BLT sandwich. Taste wise, it is so great! But I’ve gotten it twice now, and I am two for two of having the fried egg yolk burst all over me. 😂 Like I said, might be a personal problem, but when I asked if I could have a scrambled egg instead they said no substitutions. I would really appreciate a more “solid state” of an egg option to spare me the embarrassment of this happening a third time, because I love the sandwich. Anyways, just beware of the egg yolk yall. It WILL get you, even if you’re careful. Probably should just cut it in half!!
